Tony had been colder towards the soldier for a day until he saw how calm Baldur was around him, he would always trust his nephew's instincts. Steve had actually sat cradling the infant the entire time Mia explained her family, she had to move around a bit, the floating diagrams to make sure everything was explained needed a lot of room. He was introduced to Pepper, getting a warm reception, and Jarvis registered him into the system.

The following day Steve got his own tattoo, Katie was called and had happily done the easy job, more than pleased when she saw the chiselled chest of her customer, he got it on his collar bone. As soon as it was on, the man got his own RFID implant, Tony taking him by surprise, which also helped with his attitude towards the blonde.

Gunnar and Tyra had called the second night Steve was there, and were put on the projector screen to meet the man. And Thor met him at the same time, joining in with the odd three way calling situation.

A week after he came to live at Avengers Tower, taking up the other half of Phil's floor, to the joy of the agent who had gotten his collector cards signed, Mia and Steve had gone into Circe Avenue, the largest magical shopping district in the Eastern US. He came out with a few history books to bring him back up to speed on what had gone on since his freezing, and a brand new wand. He'd been pleased to find his vault was still there, the goblins had known he wasn't dead, and it had grown exceptionally big from years of untouched interest.

2 weeks after Steve had awoken and moved into the tower, Mia was sitting out on the landing platform, looking over the brilliantly lit city as she fed Baldur when she was joined, "It has certainly changed."

"Yes but change is not always a bad thing," she said softly, "What has you up still?"

"Being asleep for so long, it seems my body would rather not go back to it for too long each night," Steve explained, "Something is going to happen."

Mia nodded, she could feel it too, "When it does, then we worry. Until it does, we just go with the flow as per usual."

The soldier nodded, taking the offered boy into his arms and burping him, he was touched that his host would trust him so much to take care of her son, "What about Baldur?"

"Pepper will take him over to the Burrow, she knows to stay there until we come for her, none of us want her hurt and my family can make sure they are both safe"

From inside of the living room, Jarvis called out, "Madam! You have a call!"

The pair walked in and saw Phil's bloodied face on the screen, "What in the hell happened Phil?"

"Mia, get in touch with Thor," the agent said through a handkerchief, "We were working on the Tesseract, it was powering differently than we had seen, and out popped Loki."

Her hand reached for her locket instantly, "He's here? What did he do Phil? How many did he kill?"

"We lost a dozen agents, he also kidnapped another dozen including Barton and our astrophysicist Jane Foster," Phil looked older than his 47 years, "We're calling the Avengers into action Mia, I'm sorry."

"I understand. I'll get Bruce and we'll all be waiting at the tower for pick up tomorrow morning," she was already planning when she realised, "Have you told Tash?"

Phil nodded, "She's been informed. Her transport will get your group and bring you all in at once. Be safe."

"You too," when they hung up, Mia turned to her friend, "Well, it happened."

"I'll go and get Pepper," Steve rose but stopped before leaving, "I would like you as my second-in-command."

"Of course," she smiled, watching him leave before calibrating her Portkey.

It hit zero and swept her off. Landing heavily in a ratty bedroom, Mia saw that her friend wasn't there so began tracking him. Running under disillusionment, she soon came to a shack, hearing wails of despair coming from inside and hated what she was about to walk into. Knocking on the door jamb, she waited until a young girl answered and said, "Doctor?"

The girl waved for her to follow. Walking into what was probably one of only 3 rooms in the shack, Mia saw Bruce wrapping a tiny body up in a sheet and a mother wailing as she was held by other women. Her friend's eyes widened when he saw her but didn't do anything as he placed the body into the arms of the mother and spoke sympathetic words to her in her native tongue.

He came over then and they left, "Hello stranger."

"Hey Bruce," they embraced, "Sorry to pull you from your work here but we've got a job back home that I need your help with."

"Mine or the big guys?"

"Both. Loki's returned to earth, taken SHIELD agents, and also took the Tesseract. You are the best in the world with gamma radiation, between you, Tony and myself we should be able to find it and Loki."

"Which will then lead to needing the big guy. Alright, if nothing else I would like to see this small human you gave birth to in the flesh," Bruce laughed.

Gathering his things, the pair then took the Portkey back to the tower, where Pepper was waiting with Baldur's things ready to go. Steve stepped forward and offered a hand to the man he had spoken to a few times, "Dr Banner."

"Captain Rogers," they shook hands and Bruce's face lit up as the infant was placed in his arms, "Well then, hello there Baldur."

While the trio were being entertained by her son, Mia head to the labs in search of her brother, "Tony, did you finish the latest suits yet?"

"Yours is finished, mine has a design flaw," Tony replied with his head by the boot.

Hanging her head, the witch sighed, "It's the spinners isn't it?"

Looking across at her, blue eyes narrowed, "So what if it is?"

"You can fix them later, Pepper is about to head off, so come say goodbye to your fiancée and nephew"

The farewells were hard for Mia, this was going to be the longest she had been away from the boy but knew he would be perfectly safe with the family. After Pepper left, with instructions to order the family that none of them were to think about coming over, Bruce was shown to his rooms and entered into the system, Steve got undeniable proof that the man could control himself when he didn't even flinch at the RFID implant.

Under orders, all of the men were told to go to bed. Mia had crawled into her brother's bed, both of them needing the comfort and support, knowing that the coming days were going to be hard.
