Hey guys! Guess who's back with another chapter of Through Time and Space! I'm bound and determined to finish this first part this week. I probably only have two more chapters. I don't think this episode will take more than two episodes. Then we'll start off the next part with the 1st Christmas special of the new series. I'll also be adding the stories of Kate meeting the 8th Doctor and War Doctor. I got so excited to do the 10th Doctor and forgot. I'll be adding those bonus chapters after this finale, but I will have already started the next part. Alright, I'm watching Ms. Mojo as I'm writing this. Enjoy the chapter!
Parting of the Ways Part 1
As chaos was going on, I just stood there amongst the Daleks. It was scary and kinda funny all at the same time. They didn't try and hurt me though. After a moment, a Dalek comes up to me.
"You know the Doctor. You are his wife. You understand him. You will predict his actions." The Dalek says.
"The Doctor is unpredictable, and what makes you think that I would tell you if I knew?" I ask.
"Predict! Predict! Predict!"
"You don't scare me."
"Tardis detected in flight." Another Dalek says. I smile.
"Launch missiles. Exterminate."
"I love watching you try. You're never going to be able to kill him." It wasn't too long after I hear the wonderful noise of the Tardis, and then the next most wonderful noise: The Doctor's voice.
"Kate, get down! Get down, Kate!" The Doctor yells. Okay, it wasn't the best thing to hear, but at least it was the Doctor. I jumped out of the way of the weapon that I knew was going to be shooting down the Dalek that was near me.
"Exterminate!" And the Dalek was gone.
"You did it." I say standing up giving the Doctor a smile. He attacks me in a hug. "Feels like I haven't seen you in years." I say.
"I thought you died. I barely held it together. I was going to find a way to get to you."
"I knew you were."
"Are you okay?" He asks letting go of me, but he grabs my head and looking me in the eyes.
"Yeah, I'm okay. Are you okay?"
"Not bad, been better."
"Hey, don't I get a hug?" I hear Jack ask.
"I wouldn't forget you." I say turning to him.
"I was talking to him." Me and Jack give each other a look and hug as well. "Welcome home."
"I never thought I would see your flirty self ever again." I say pulling away.
"Oh, you were lucky. That was just a one shot wonder. Drained the gun of all its power supply. Now it's just a piece of junk." Jack says.
"Still saved me." Rose came up to me, and did something that surprised me: She hugged me. I hugged her back.
"I thought you were dead because of me." She says.
"I wasn't about to let you think I wouldn't do anything to save your life."
"Thank you."
"Anytime." We pulled away, and Rose turns to the Doctor.
"You said they were extinct. How come they're still alive?" Rose asks.
"One minute they're the greatest threat in the Universe. The next minute they vanished out of time and space." Jack says.
"They went off to fight a bigger war: The Time War." The Doctor says. I move closer to him. This is a touchy subject.
"I thought that was just a legend."
"We were there. The war between the Daleks and the Time Lords with the whole of creation at stake. My people were destroyed, but they took the Daleks with them. I almost thought it was worth it. Now it turns out they died for nothing." I grab his hand.
"There's thousands of them now. We could hardly stop one. What're we going to do?" Rose asks.
"No good standing round here chin wagging. Human race you'd gossip all day. The Daleks have got the answers. Let's go and meet the neighbors." The Doctor says leaving the Tardis. I follow suit.
"You can't go out there!" I hear Rose yell, but her and Jack also follow.
"Exterminate! Exterminate! Exterminate!" The Daleks yell when we go outside the Tardis. They shoot their rays at us, but nothing hits us. I lovingly pat the Tardis.
"Is that it? Useless! Null points. It's all right, come on out. That forcefield can hold back anything." The Doctor yells to Jack and Rose.
"Almost anything." Jack says.
"Yes but I wasn't going to tell them that. Thanks."
"Sorry."
"Do you know what they call me in the ancient legends of the Dalek Homeworld? The Oncoming Storm. You might've removed all your emotion, but I reckon right down deep in your DNA there's one little spark left. That's fear. Doesn't it just burn when you face me? So tell me. How did you survive the Time War?"
"They survived through me." An unseen Dalek says. Just then a light reveals a huge Dalek sitting on a sort of throne.
"Kate, Rose, Captain, this is the Emperor of the Daleks." The Doctor says.
"You destroyed us, Doctor and Kate. The Dalek race died in your inferno, but my ship survived, falling through time, crippled but alive."
"I get it."
"Do not interrupt." Many Daleks say one after the other.
"I think you're forgetting something. I'm the Doctor, and if there's one thing I can do, it's talk. I've got five billion languages, and you haven't got one way of stopping me. So if anybody's going to shut up, it's you! Okey doke. So, where were we?"
"We waited here in the dark space, damaged but rebuilding. Centuries passed, and we quietly infiltrated the systems of Earth, harvesting the wast of humanity. The prisoners, the refugees, the dispossessed. They all came to us. The bodies were filtered, pulped, sifted. The send of the human race is perverted. Only one cell in a billion was fit to be nurtured."
"So you created an army of Daleks out of the dead."
"That makes them half human." Rose says.
"Those words are blasphemy."
"Do not blaspheme." The Daleks say one after another.
"Everything human has been purged. I cultivated pure and blessed Dalek." The Emperor says.
"Since when did the Daleks have a concept of blasphemy?" The Doctor asks.
"I reached into the dirt and made new life. I am the God of all Daleks!"
"Worship him. Worship him. Worship him." The Daleks all say.
"They're insane. Hiding in silence for hundreds of years, that's enough to drive anyone mad, but it's worse that that. Driven mad by your own flesh. The stink of humanity. You hate your own existence, and that makes them more deadly than ever." The Doctor turns back to the Tardis and starts walking in. "We're going." We go inside the Tardis, and the Doctor just leans against the door for a moment. Rose and Jack went to the console, but I stay beside the Doctor. He snaps out of it and gets us going again. We land back on the spaceship ready to fight the Daleks. We run out unto what I assume is floor 500, the main floor. The Doctor instantly goes out the door. "Turn everything up. All transmitters full power, wide open. Now! Do it!" He yells at the people there.
"What does this do?" The woman there asks.
"Stops the Daleks from transmitting on board. How did you get on? Did you contact Earth?"
"Well, we tried to warn them, but all they did was suspend our license because we stopped the programs."
"And the planet's just sitting there, defenseless. Lynda, what're you still doing on board? I told you to evacuate everyone." Oh, Lynda! I get to meet Lynda!
"She wouldn't go."
"Didn't want to leave you." Lynda says.
"There weren't enough shuttles anyway, or I wouldn't be here. We've got about a hundred people stranded on Floor Zero." Another woman says.
"Oh, my God. The Fleet is moving. They're on their way." The first lady says. The Doctor goes over to some of the machines and starts pulling out some wires and other stuff.
"Dalek plan. Big mistake because what have they left me with? Anyone? Anyone?" No one says anything. "Oh, come on, it's obvious." Again no one says anything. "A great big transmitter. This station. If I can change the signal, fold it back, sequence it, anyone?"
"You've got to be kidding." Jack says.
"Give the man a medal."
"A Delta Wave?" Jack asks.
"A Delta Wave!" The Doctor yells.
"What's a Delta Wave?" Rose asks.
"A wave of Van Cassadyne energy. It fries your brain. Stand in the way of a Delta Wave, and your head gets barbecued." Jack says.
"And this place can transmit a massive wave. Wipe out the Daleks!" The Doctor says.
"Well, get started and do it then." Lynda says.
"Trouble is, wave this size, building this big, brain as clever as mine, should take about...oh, three days? How long till the fleet arrives?"
"Twenty two minutes." The captain lady says. We work on the transmitter for a long time before anyone really says anything again.
"We've now got a forcefield, so they can't blast us out of the sky. That doesn't stop the Daleks from physically invading." Jack says.
"Do they know about the Delta Wave?"
"They'll have worked it out at the same time. So, they want to stop the Doctor. That means they've got to get to this level: five hundred. Now, I can concentrate the extrapolator around the top six levels, five hundred to four nine five, so they'll penetrate the station below that at level four nine four and fight their way up."
"Who are they fighting?"
"Us."
"And what are we fighting with?"
"The guards had guns with basic bullets. That's enough to blow a Dalek wide open."
"There's six of us." The other woman says.
"Kate, Rose, can you guys help me. I need all these wires stripping bare."
"Right, now there's four of us."
"Then let's move it. Into the lift. Isolate the lift controls." Jack says. The captain and the other lady leaves.
"I just want to say, er, thanks, I suppose, and I'll do my best." Lynda says to the Doctor. I walk over to her.
"Lynda, I know you won't understand this. It's an honor meeting you." I say holding my hand out for her to shake. She looks at me confused and shakes my hand.
"Thank you?" She says very confused. She shakes the Doctor's hand and leaves as well.
"It's been fun, but I guess this is goodbye." Jack says coming over.
"Don't talk like that. The Doctor's going to do it. You just watch him." Rose says.
"Rose, you're worth fighting for." He says kissing her. He turns to me. "You're the most amazing woman I've ever had the honor to meet." He says hugging me, and then landing a kiss on my lips as well. I let out a chuckle and let go. I give him a smack. He then turns to the Doctor. "Wish I'd never met you, Doctor. I was much better off as a coward." He says as he also kisses the Doctor. "See you in Hell." Jack leaves as well.
"He's going to be all right, isn't he?" Rose asks. The Doctor says nothing and walks towards the Tardis.
"Hey, Kate I need your help with something." I make my way to the Tardis cautiously because I know he tricks Rose into going into the Tardis and sending her away. Man, this headache is getting to me. The Doctor seems to notice my discomfort and stops me in the console room. "Are you sure you're okay?"
"Yeah, I've just got this headache." I say rubbing my head.
"I'll go get you some medicine for that, while I grab the device. You just stay there." I nod and sit down in the chair by the console. He comes back soon after with a cup of water and what looks to be ibuprofen.
"Thanks." I say taking the medicine. Does this water taste different? My eyes go large as I realize what he's just done. "Doctor, you didn't-"
"I'm sorry, but I have to make sure you're okay." He says as I start losing consciousness.
"But-"
"I love you Kate Foster." He says placing a kiss on my lips, and that is the last thing I remember before I fall asleep.
