EN NOTES: OH MY GOD I FINISHED!!!!!!!
Good guess Breze. it's exactly as you all have feared.... They didn't live happily ever after! I killed Schuldich! Oh come on, as if you're not suspecting that, I mean after all the shit I put them through. I know that after all that angst something good's got to come out of it... But it's just not right if I just I don't know... made Ran swim back or something. I mean the entire story would sound stupid then.
Also, the reason for this delay is because I spent the entire week thinking up of at least 30 different alternate endings and epilogues for this fic. And in the end I just decided on this one because I seriously think it's like the most suitable. I like how it all links with "If you really love me, I believe your love can save me." Here are a few others I thought up of: Omi dies trying to save Ran and Ran and Schu live a life in regret after Aya commits a suicide due to Omi dying, and Ran and Schu never gets their body switched back. Ran and Schu both die due to one of their body's dead. Ran swims back ashore and they tell Omi and Aya the truth and the live happily ever after. Ran dies and Schuldich kills Omi and Aya then commits a suicide himself. .those along with 1000 others
And there is going to be no epilogue, because there is nothing more to be said.
Many would want to know what happens to Omi, well, I think there isn't much of a ending to him, in this fic, he's least changed by the events, like he doesn't exactly go through huge emotional turmoil (or physical ones). Think about it, Aya breaking up with him is not all that bad compared to some of the things others go through, and Omi never liked Aya in the first place. And losing Ken and reuniting with Yohji is all very stirring, but Omi isn't completely changed by those facts. Unlike other characters, so I think in the end, Omi is still Omi.
Please, please, PLEASE don't send me hate mails because I killed off so many people in this fic, because well, I have been hinting ever since the death of Brad that something crappy is going to happen to Schu and Ran, so it isn't supposed to be this shocking, and forgive me for ignoring all your pleas, it's pretty hard to end such an angst fic on a happy note, it would also kind of destroy it. So please don't flame me for this, and I'm so sorry for ignoring your pleas, please don't hate me....please.
I think that because this fic ends on such a sad note, I'm going to add in an extra "behind the scenes" chapter of just some of the parodies I thought up of if the fic was ever going to be made into an anime. So look out for it.
Anyway, I think this is the longest author's note I've ever done. I really hope you liked Cocoon of Lies and I want to thank all of you who've reviewed for this fic.
