Chapter 38
A/N: This is an AU story for the vampire diaries. I do not own the vampire dairies.
Hey guys so here Kennett. Takes place at 3x14. Enjoy.
The Witch and the Original
Bonnie sighed. She was at home board while Elena and Caroline got ready for the Mikaelson ball. It wasn't like she wanted to go to the ball too. But she was jealous somewhat. You could say despite being the best friend of the group, she never really dated much. Caroline and Elena were the ones that always got the attention. She was not like human Caroline was, but it just seemed like she never had a guy interested in her, or a boyfriend. There was Jeremy for that matter, but he had cheated on her with Anna. It hurt to hear the truth after everything that she had done for him. She practically begged Emily to help her save him because she had been in love with him. But the reality was he never really loved her, she knew that he had liked her but not love. She couldn't be the replacement for Anna or any of those girls that he had dated before. So here she was eating popcorn on the couch staring at the tv. Nothing was really on anyway. She was about to actually sneak so low as to call Alaric to see if he would actually be willing to hang out even if he was the teacher. He was a friend. Suddenly there was a knock on the door. She raised an eyebrow before heading to the door. She opened it being cautionous. But there was no one there just a box with a card. She stared at it for a moment for grabbing it and bringing it inside. She placed it on the coffee table and opened the card. It read that she was invited to a ball. The Mikealson family ball.
Darling witch,
Do me the honor of saving me a dance?
-KM
KM? Who was KM, She didn't know anyone like that. She put the card to the side, sighing before she glanced at the box. She pulled on the bow and opened the box. Her eyes widened at the dress. She was sure that she couldn't afford this. She shook her head. And thought for a moment, glancing at the popcorn and the phone. She groaned.
Kol smirked as he tied his bow around his neck. He admired his features. Always being the most handsome original of the family. He thought.
"Oh Rebekah do tell me how handsome I look." Rebekah scoffed at him as she was putting on her shoes. Her dress was on already.
"Oh Kol, you know I can't be compelled." Kol rolled his eyes.
"Mother, do tell me-
"You look quite cute Kol." His mother Esther said. He turned to her with a irritated expression.
"Cute? Dear mother I think you mean handsome." She rolled her eyes and nodded.
"You are handsome." He smirked.
"More than Nik, Elijah and Finn right?" Esther gave him a look.
"You're pushing it. All my sons are handsome." Rebeakh groaned. "And I have the most beautiful daughter." Rebekah smiled to her. Klaus and Elijah walked in. Elijah was putting in his cuff links while Klaus was buttoning up his shirt. Finn was still hardly ready yet. He couldn't figure out what the small piece of cloth was for. Kol snickered looking at him as he struggled trying to figure out where it went. Klaus rolled his eyes.
"Finn," Finn looked to him. "Neck." He pointed to the cloth. Finn finally understood and glanced at Klaus, Elijah, and Kol's bow ties. He got it right on the first try. Esther put a clip in her hair.
"Now tell me my sons and daughter. Who have you decided to bring to the ball?"
"Rebekah brought that pathetic human." Kol said. Rebekah glared at him.
"He is not pathetic, he is beautifully human." Kol burst into laughter.
"Oh dear here we go again. It must be a curse for you sister."
"Kol." Esther said. Rebekah glared at him.
"I don't know anyone nor do I want to." Finn said.
"Still thinking about that harlot." Rebekah muttered. Finn glared at her.
"At least I find true love sister. Unlike you." Rebekah gritted her teeth and folded her arms across her chest irritated with her brothers. Why couldn't there had been another girl in their family? Instead she was surrounded by men.
"I didn't think to bring one." Elijah said moving to leave.
"Yes, because he is still pining over the latest doppelganger." Elijah turned to him glaring daggers at him. "Unfortunately he missed his chance and will have to wait in line for her. She is in between guys now I heard right?" Kol muttered. Klaus rolled his eyes.
"Who did you decide to bring Kol?" Elijah asked.
"I believe her name is Bonnie Bennett the witch right?" Klaus turned to him.
"You're date is the witch? She will try to kill you." He said. Kol rolled his eyes.
"Ah but Nik that's what will make her more fun. You know Nik the feistier the woman the better they are in bed."
"Kol!" Esther scolded. Rebekah rolled her eyes.
"Nik knows that, he has even decided to have that blonde baby vampire be his date. She never even gives him the time of day." Kol said. Klaus glared at him.
"Caroline? You invited Caroline?!" Rebekah said. Klaus rolled his eyes.
"Oh do be quiet sister." He said moving to follow Elijah out the door. Esther raised an eyebrow. So Niklaus did have a date? This would be interesting. Kol hoped that Bonnie would come. He wanted meet this witch.
Bonnie entered the mansion, and took off her shawl. She wore a blood red dress with a black side shoulder strap. Bonnie's hair was pulled up into a bun with a few strands hanging down the sides of her face that were curled. She looked around the room, wondering which one of them could be her date. She found Elena with Damon not shocking. And Caroline…with Klaus. If that wasn't strange then what was.
"I didn't think you would come darling." She turned at the voice to guy who looked about her age maybe a year older. He had dark brown hair and sienna brown eyes. He smirked at her. "You look more stunning in that dress then I thought you would." He held out a drink to her. She raised an eyebrow and took it taking a sip.
"And you are?"
"Kol, I believe you know my infamous brother Nik right?" She looked at him confused.
"Nik?"
"Ah I forgot that you mates call him Klaus." He said. This guy Kol was Klaus's brother? He was an original. She shook her head and glared at him.
"So what you invited me here to kill me?" She scoffed. He raised an eyebrow at her response. He shook his head.
"No I believe when on asks someone to be there date it means date." She rolled her eyes. "Besides you don't even know me darling. How do you judge a drink by how it looks before you try it."
"I don't have to know you to know that you are an vampire. And an original at that." He shrugged.
"Is that a problem then?"
"Yes,"
"What is it you have against vampires?"
"What is there to say? You're a vampire and drink blood. I despise them."
"Yet you hang out with them."
"Not like I have a choice."
"Really one is your best friend,"
"That's different."
"Really?" She really wished she would have stayed home. Before she could answer Esther had announced the ball to begin with a dance. "Shall we?"
"No way." She scoffed. He sighed and glanced to a red headed girl
"Well then I will just have a nice drink then." He moved to the red head when he heard a sigh of defeat.
"Fine," Kol smirked and turned to her holding out his hand. She brushed pass him and made her way to the dance floor. He followed and took both of her hands in his beginning the waltz. She could see Elena dancing with Damon and Caroline dancing with Klaus. She felt a gaze on her. She turned to find Kol watching her intently. She felt heat in her cheeks and looked away. She twirled into his arms before they move around in a circle.
"You are a lovely dancer." Kol complimented. Bonnie rolled her eyes.
"I had Caroline train me you could say." She said. He nodded.
"I do apologize that the Gilbert boy had broken your powerful heart-
"Don't." She snapped. "I mean it." Kol couldn't but seem to find himself taking a liking in her. She was a strong independent and powerful woman. And Kol was loving that about her. No woman had ever impressed him really before.
"Well how about the dress, you look absolutely stunning in if I do say so." He said. She swallowed hard.
"Well it wasn't like I had time to go shopping. The dress came in around six and the ball started at seven." He shrugged.
"And what's your excuse for coming here." She didn't answer and instead he twirled her into Damon much to her dismay. Damon scoffed and sighed.
A little while later Bonnie had moved into the parlor and looked at a candle remembering her first time finding out that she was a witch. She concentrated on the flame as it grew and faded. She missed her Grams terribly.
"I have always respected witches." She turned to find Kol standing in the doorway. She swallowed hard. "Unlike my brother who used them for personal gain. I do believe that witches are the ultimate power. I mean they created everything even me. You like being a witch." She turned to him again. "For most of the part."
"Why did you invite me here?"
"I was fascinated by you after I heard that you took down my brother." She rolled her eyes. "But now I am not, I actually found that I fancy you." She looked up at him to see if he was kidding or not. He seemed quite serious.
"You're joking?" He shook his head sitting down next to her.
"Hardly Miss Bennett. Why wouldn't you think anyone could like you."
"Because I am just Bonnie Bennett. Not Elena Gilbert or Caroline Forbes." She said.
"Of course you're not. Why would you want to be like them? There nothing that interesting. You on the other hand are an all powerful witch who bows down to no one. We are all different but we all have a spark that is only noticed by ones who are meant to notice." He said. "Believe it or not Bonnie Bennett but I do fancy you, in fact I would like to get to know you more." Bonnie stared at him and felt a blush come across her cheeks. This couldn't be real, he couldn't feel this way about her. She shook it off and scoffed. She wouldn't fall for it. He was an original he obviously had something to gain by playing with her feelings. But when she met her eyes it was like she knew that it was the truth but didn't understand why. When the night ended she moved to leave when Kol grabbed her arm. She turned about to give him an aneurism when he kissed her cheek. She gasped and looked at him as he smirked.
"Good night Bonnie." He said. Caroline had to grab her and drag her away from the mansion. She was still holding a hand to her cheek when she got to the car. Bonnie got home still enamored with her thoughts. She would fight Kol still. But Kol knew that one day she would be his and his alone.
Note: So here it is. Kennett. With some hints of Klaroline and I guess Delena since they were dancing. Also Elejah when Kol was picking on Elijah. Mabekah. Review thanks.
