The next day at school was more difficult than I thought it'd be with my left hand all messed up.

"Whoa! Jayme!" My friend Cho gasped when she saw my bandage hand, "What happened?!"

I smiled weakly as I glanced at my hand, "I just accidently cut myself," I shrugged taking another bite of my soba, "I'm fine…it's nothing big."

"Don't lie," May-Ling scoffed, pointing at me with her spoon, "Bandaging like that isn't used for tiny cuts. You're hurt more than you're letting on."

"Can we see it?" Yao asked, leaning across the table a little.

May slapped him across his arm, "That's disgusting!" She shouted at him, "I'd like to eat my Mabo Tofu in peace!"

"Oh c'mon!" Po interjected, his grin getting wider as May shot him a glare. "Just let her show us if she wants to!"

All of my friends turned toward to me expectantly.

"Uh…I would…" I began, "But it's just too hard for me to rewrap it back up."

Sad looks overcame the guys' face as they continued eating their lunch.

"Good." May huffed, taking another bite. "I didn't want to pay for my lunch and then have to throw it up."

I smiled as I rolled my eyes and shook my head. It's only been a couple weeks since I first came to this school, but I had managed to make friends rather quickly. May-Ling and Yao were both in my Math class and were very good with numbers, Cho was in my PE class and we gave each other support when we felt like we were gonna collapse from exhaustion, and Po was in my Art class and extremely good at seeing things in a different light.

As I thought about the friends I made here, I soon began missing my friends back home in the States.

"Hey," a familiar and somewhat irritated voice called behind me. I turned around to find Kyo and a few other guys standing a couple feet behind me.

I smiled; surprised that Kyo was outside and not in the classroom eating his lunch like usual, "Hey."

"Shigure told me to make sure you give Mr. Iwashiro your note." He strained through grit teeth. His eyes were casted down and his hands slowly twitched into fists.

I felt my smile fade a bit, "Okay. Thanks Kyo."

He grunted a 'you're welcome' before continuing on his way.

I felt my smile turn a little sad as I watched him walk away, angrily shouting something at one of his snickering friends. I worry about him sometimes…I thought to myself as I continued eating my lunch.

For the rest of the day, I had to lie to everyone who asked me what happened to my hand. I didn't like lying, and I thought on several occasions that I should just tell the truth, but something in my gut told me that doing that would not be very good.

I was currently in the middle of one of these moments on my way to my last class when I bumped into someone in the empty hall.

"Oh my gosh!" I exclaimed, the remnants of my thoughts vanishing, "I'm so sorry." I immediately knelt down to pick up all the books and papers that fell to the floor—I would've bent down like I'd normally do, but I didn't want my panties showing because of my stupid skirt.

"Hey, you're that American girl." A masculine voice chuckled above me. I stopped gathering the items and looked up; I found myself staring into the deep blue eyes of the guy that brought me the package from home the other day. "It seems that we're always bumping into each other." he smiled as he bent down to help pick up the mess.

I gave him an embarrassed laugh as I felt my cheeks flush, "Literally." He laughed warmly as he muttered something under his breath. "I'm sorry," I said, "I didn't catch that."

His eyes quickly glanced at mine before looking down at the pile of books and papers in his hands in an attempt to try and hide his flowering blush. However, I did happen to catch a slight glimpse and my cheeks turned a shade darker, Oh, he looks so cute with that blush on his cheeks. It's adorable…We both stood up and I gave him my part of his belongings.

He cleared his throat out of nervousness, "So, uh, I-I didn't know you went here."

"Yeah, I'm here on a student exchange thing." I smiled as I unconsciously fiddled with the edge of my bandages.

He nodded, his black hair shifting slightly, "So, uh…what's your next class?"

"Art."

"That's cool," he mumbled, looking down and rubbing the back of his head, "I'm actually headed that way myself, I just had to drop some stuff off at my locker." His eyes then quickly flickered up to find mine, a tinge of hope flashed through them. "We-we can walk together…you know, since we're both going that way anyways."

"Oh," I said, getting the hint, "Sure, I'd like that."

He grinned, "Lemme just drop these off."

After we dropped his stuff at his locker, we walked together to our next class. We talked about various things on the way there and we found out that we had a lot in common: we both love to read fiction novels; we both love to watch crime shows (although we differ as to what type); and we both also aren't any good at math.

I stopped in front of the Art room, making him stop as well, "Thank you for walking with me." I smiled.

"Not a problem," he smiled back, rubbing behind his head nervously. "So, uh, I guess I'll see you tomorrow?"

"Sure. See you then." I waved as I turned to walk inside my class. I stopped mid-turn, "Wait! I forgot your name." I called out a little embarrassed.

Already halfway down the hall, he laughed over his shoulder, "It's Hei. I'll talk to you later, Jayme."

I felt my cheeks heat up slightly as I waved goodbye, I feel so stupid…I couldn't remember his name but he remembered mine. I walked inside my classroom and I sat in my seat next to Po, unconsciously letting out a small sigh.

"So…" Po mused as he leaned on his hand and stare at me through half-lidded murky green eyes, "Who was that?"

I shrugged as I started to get my supplies out of my bag, "He's just a guy I met the other day." I felt my face heating up at the memory of the awkwardness of the whole meeting.

Po smirked, "Sure he is…"

"He is!" I tried assuring, my voice going up another octave by accident.

Po quickly flashed me a smile as the bell rang and class began.
