It was nice not to have to worry about anything, Enola thought as she skipped down the hallway in front of her brother. Tomorrow night was the full moon, usually the most stressful time of the month, even more so then the new moon. But she hadn't needed to worry about that for some time. The Doc had made a special serum that sedated her and Hans for the whole night. For the past three moons she had been knocked out cold, unable to go after any of her friends or strangers alike. This moon would be no different. She didn't even need to drink blood!

Plus, with Hans's training, the new moons weren't so scary anymore eather. She could take on humans and ghouls with ease, and had a thousand vampires and her bother to defend her if need be. Without her monthly two weeks of worry about the full moon, then two weeks worry about the new one, it gave her a lot of time to worry about other things, like what kind of gun she was going to get. The Major had promised her whatever choice of weapon she wanted, specially made just for her.

Her brother had twin modified handguns with extremely long barrels. But those seemed harder to handle in close quarters, and with shorter barrels they reminded her too much of… The same went with Rip's five foot musket. Plus, that only had one shot, which was fine with the vampiress, but would not suit Enola's needs. Something like Zorin's scythe was too unwieldy to be of much use. Besides, if she was that close to an enemy, she might as well rip them apart with her claws. She need a gun for targets she could not reach and as a way to deliver silver bullets.

In the end, she had settled for a rifle. That seemed like best option. Powerful, by far her favorite weapon she had fired so far, and small enough to carry while able to shoot targets as a distance. She could wield it fairly easily indoors. Anyone too close for her to shoot would be in arm's reach, therefore was asking to get mauled. Yes, a rifle was the choice for her.

Then there was the matter of her eyes. They had been changing color as of late, slowly turning from their normal brown to a burning burgundy, now nearly matching her brothers. The doctor said this was normal as werewolves matured, but surely it strange that had shifted in several odd stages. They seemed to get redder after every full moon, not changing for the rest of the month, then go another shade more crimson the next moon. Unusual, but Hans had burgundy eyes as well, so it must be how werewolves matured. After all, he was nearly a century older then her.

She skipped into the shooting range, nearly running into the Major while doing so. The werewolf blinked, then stepped back, staring at the item he was holding in his hands.

"Is that-?" she asked, eyes wide in amazement. It was impossible. She had told him her decision the other day. There was no way they could have made it so quickly…

He held it out, "You like it?"

"Like it?" Enola asked, gently taking the custom gun, "I love it!" The weapon was black with a marbleized appearance to the handle. The metal was engraved with tribal designs of wolves that were inset with stainless steel. It was a semi-automatic sniper rifle, though smooth and sleek in design. A black embossed leather strap allowed it to be carried on her back. Enola noticed the strap was easily adjustable so she would be able to carry the rifle while in wolf form. The gun was probably too large for a human to handle steadily without the stand that folded up against the barrel, but for Enola, it was light as a feather. "Major, this has to be the most beautiful weapon I've ever seen!

He grinned, as per usual, "I am glad you like it. Hopefully you vill like zis one as vell." From his coat he pulled out a second gun, this time a long barreled semi-automatic pistol crafted and engraved to match the rifle. He handed it to her, "In case you are in a tight spot."

"Oh, Major, you shouldn't have!" Enola cried, beaming as she looked over the second weapon. It was equally as beautiful as the first and came with a carved leather holster similar to the rifle's strap. She quickly pulled the belt through her pant's loops. It could also be attached to the rifle's strap and had places to keep ammunition for both weapons. She feel the silver in some of the bullets through the leather.

He chuckled, "Go on! Try zem out!"

The werewolf eagerly hurried to the nearest firing station. She first tried the rifle, clicking the magazine into place and aiming for the target. While loading she noticed the top had been modified to allow her to load individual bullets, useful if she wanted to fire something extra special. Enola looked through the scope, lining up the shot. She didn't technically need the scope for this close range a target, but she wanted to try it out. Once she had it set, she fired, bracing herself for the recoil.

The werewolf glanced around the gun at the target and grinned. The shot was spot on. Not only that, but the gun had fired smoothly, despite the power she could feel flowing through it. That was a weapon she could defiantly get used to handling. She fired off a few more rounds.

Next was the pistol. Enola slid the rifle on her back and pulled out the handgun. After loading, she aimed and fired a few shots, then started giggling.

"This one's fun!" she declared. The pistol was not as accurate as the rifle, but then again, she didn't often practice with handguns. But that was certainly going to change. This one had a cute little kickback, but nothing she couldn't handle. It was defiantly much more powerful then the other pistols she had shot. She quickly fired off the rest of the rounds in the magazine. "I love them so much!"

The Major laughed, "Das is good! Your weapon can be your only friend in var, so it is best you get along."

"Oh, we get along alright!" Enola said, "I'd say we'll be the best of friends!"

"Josh, I'm worried for Enola."

Josh nodded, leaning back on the wall behind his bed, "Yeah, me too."

The blond shook his head, "Not just worried, tonight's going to be even worse for her."

"What do you mean by that?" Josh glanced at him skeptically, "How would you possibly know that?"

"Look," Dan pointed to the calendar they had tacked to their barrack room's wall from his position across the room, "It's the full moon tonight."

"Oh, yeah," the darker haired boy sighed, "The fourth one since she's been gone. Who knows what kind of havoc she's caused in Germany by now."
