Chapter 38: Interrogation of Truths
Jewel stopped in front of the doors to the interrogation room. She gulped and inhaled deeply. "Jewel, you don't have to do this. I'll get the information out of him one way or another," said her brother.
"No, I'll be all right. This is something I have to do."
"All right," he sighed as he turned the door knob. Jewel walked in first followed by Kelly, Tavington, Bordon, Ban, O'Hara, Seth, then Lord Cornwallis. Wilkins turned to them "He hasn't said anything since you left, Bordon."
"Ah, the woman of the hour," smiled Elijah. "I knew you couldn't possibly be dead," he laughed.
Jewel gulped then clenched her jaw. She wasn't about to break down in front of her enemy "The Major said you wanted to talk to me."
"The Major? Don't you mean the man you're shagging? Or is it someone else now? Ah, it doesn't matter. I did want to see you, Jewel, but do you think maybe you could get these men to loosen my ropes? They're digging into me."
Jewel scoffed "If I was to make a request about the ropes, I would ask for them to tie the ropes tighter and wrap one around your neck. What the hell do you want with me?"
Elijah laughed "Straight to the point, eh? All right then. I can do that. I want to cut a deal."
"A deal? What kind of deal?" asked Wilkins.
Smiling "Jewel, please tell the Captain to shut up and I only deal with you. Or I stop talking."
Jewel sneered "You talk about him like that again and there will be no deal, is that clear?"
He gave a slight nod still smiling "Sure." He looked to Jewel's stomach "How's your wound by the way? Tender?"
Jewel frowned "How did you know about that?"
"Oh, Jewel, I have my connections. More than you know."
"What's the deal?" Jewel sighed.
"Your brother and the rest of his bitch ass dragoons, let me live and I give you information. I'll give you everything. The rest of the men's locations, your traitor, and the main man's location. The man who has been behind it all, but for the last bit comes at a high price," Elijah looked Jewel over "And that's you. I want you to freely give yourself to me. You do that, and I give you all the information you need."
Tavington stepped forward to hit him, but Jewel grabbed his arm "No, William." He looked at her with a frown. She looked back to Elijah and gave a nod "Done."
"What?!" Said everyone out loud.
"But first, I'm going to freshen up," said Jewel. Elijah licked his lips "Whatever you need to do." She gave a nod then left the room followed by the others except, Wilkins.
"Jewel, you can't be serious!" exclaimed Tavington. "This guy raped you! I can't let you do this." Jewel sighed "William, do you trust me?" "What?" "Do you trust me?" He sighed "Yes, of course I do, but what does that have to do with anything?" "Just trust me. I'll be back down in a minute."
"Mother, has a plan," said Kelly. A few minutes went by then Jewel came back down the stairs in her uniform.
"Um-," started Ban.
"I need all of you to stay out here while I'm in there."
"But, Jewel."
"William, you said you trusted me, so please follow through." She looked over to O'Hara and could tell he was worried. Jewel gave a nod to him then walked in the room "Wilkins, leave us, please."
Wilkins looked to Elijah then back to Jewel "Are you sure?"
"I'll be fine. Just wait outside."
Wilkins sighed then nodded at Jewel and left the room.
"So, Jewel, why don't you step out of the shadows and let me see you."
She smiled to herself then walked forward.
"Well, a new look for you. I prefer the clothes off myself or at least half way and straddle my lap and I shall tell you a secret."
"I have a secret too," she said as she walked up to him and straddled his lap. He sniffed "Mmm, you still have that scent. Oh, untie the ropes."
"Ah, not yet," she wrapped her arms around his neck "I want to play a game. I can see that you're...up...for it."
"I am. I like games. What's it called?"
"Call it a questionaire type game. Everytime you answer my question right, I take off a piece of clothing off."
"Sounds good. What's the first question?"
"Where is my ex husband and his friends? Who's the traitor? Who's behind all of this? And when is the last time you spoke to Quaid and Evan?"
"Hmm...First question, Jack and the others are held up in a shack in the woods. Somewhere along the Santee."
Jewel removed her shirt revealing a corset. She could feel him getting more aroused.
Elijah groaned "Oh please, untie these ropes."
"Feeling a bit uncomfortable?"
Elijah gasped "Oh, the answers to the next questions. The traitor is a man named Tarleton, the main boss is Martin, and I recently spoke to Quaid and Evan. Now, please undo these ropes."
"Hmm...no. You see, the people that raised me taught me how to tell when someone is lying and I know for a fact all those answers are a lie. You see, Jack and his friends aren't in that shack because it no longer exists. The traitor is not, Ban, because I know he is very loyal and cares a great deal about me. The main boss I know is not, Martin because that was basically admitted to me and for the last bit, you couldn't have talked to Quaid and Evan recently. Oh, tell me, is Evan by chance your brother?" She watched as Elijah got a worried look "That's what I thought. He looked just like you. Oh, I'm sorry, you're probably wondering what I mean," Jewel said as she slowly pulled a knife that was tied around her wrist and brought it to Elijah's left side "when I said he looked just like you, it's because," she leaned in closer "I fucking killed him," she rammed the knife into his side making him yell out. She yanked his hair back as he continued to groan in pain "Did you really think I'd have sex with you willingly? I killed Quaid and your bastard brother!"
She pulled the knife out then stood off of him, grabbing her shirt and putting it on. "You're pathetic, just as he was! I don't need your help to find my ex or the others because I can do that on my own. You see this knife, Elijah? It's Quaid's. I cut his head off first and then I killed your brother and cut him into pieces, including his cock. It was very small by the way."
Elijah coughed in pain "You bitch!"
Jewel sighed "Ah, yes, thank you." She walked back up to him and held the knife to his throat.
"Wait!" he begged. "You gave me your word that you wouldn't kill me!"
"No, Elijah, I gave you my word that I wouldn't let my brother or the others kill you. My name on the other hand was never mentioned." She pulled his hair back "You will never hurt another woman again, you sick fuck!" She slammed her knife down on Elijah's manhood then brought the knife back up and ran the blade against his neck spilling blood all over. She stood back then cleaned off her blade, watching as Elijah drew his last breath.
Tavington walked in followed by the others and they all stood in shock. "Jewel?" questioned her brother.
"He was a liar. He wasn't going to tell you anything and he was a waste of flesh, so now he's dead. Oh, Doctor Pegg, thank you for the pain medication, I think it has helped a lot. Still a bit tender and all, but feeling better already," Jewel smiled and gave a nod "Excuse me, gentlemen. But I think I need to change."
Everyone looked at each other dumbstruck then looked to Elijah "What the hell has happened to your sister?" asked Ban as he watched the blood continue to spill out onto the floor "And who the hell is going to clean this up?"
O'Hara sighed then left. He had to go talk to Jewel. Kelly watched him head after her mother. She turned back around and noticed her uncle looking at her. Kelly cleared her throat "I believe I can answer your question, Ban. As for your first question, as to what's happened to my mother, is more than you know and the answer to the second question, I suggest anyone with a strong stomach to clean that scum up. I have a feeling that mother is just getting started. Good day," she said then left with Seth following her.
Tavington clenched his jaw "Get this cleaned up," he said.
"Where are you going?" asked Bordon.
"To get answers," he said without looking back.
Ban looked at Bordon and Wilkins "Well, shall we draw straws?" They both rolled their eyes.
"Kelly, wait," said Tavington. Kelly closed her eyes and stopped. She sighed and turned around "Yes, Uncle William?"
"What is going on with your mother? I mean she's...I'm not sure what she is, but she was badly wounded and yet she is walking about like she isn't that bad, not to mention that seizure she had, and there is no way that pain medication that Doctor Pegg gave is the cause of all that. And I want to know what is going on between her and O'Hara. Not to mention I have never seen her in so much anger."
"Are you surprised? Really?" asked Seth.
"You be careful, boy. If I had it my way, I'd kill you in a heartbeat."
"Uncle, stop. Don't blame, Seth. Yes, he did a rotten thing before, but he also saved her life. But he's right. Are you really that surprised? I mean, she's been raped several times, kidnapped, beaten, tortured, humilated, abused, honestly Uncle William, why would this surprise you? Because it shouldn't and I really don't think it does. I think it's because you're worried she's turning into you. Cold as ice."
Tavington slapped Kelly across the face, shocking her as well as Seth. She held her cheek with tears in her eyes as she looked back at him, she gulped down and looked back at her uncle "Well, trust me, Uncle, this is the real Jewel. Mother has surpressed her fear, anger, hate, you name it, for far too long and it will only get worse. She's not finished and won't be until all those that hurt her are dead and her family is safe and you can't stop her, so don't try, but should know better not to. Who would know better than you."
Tavington clenched his jaw "And what about her healing so quickly? How do you explain that?"
"I can't explain it, uncle. She's just that way."
"Bullshit!"
Kelly ran her fingers through her hair "You'll have to ask her. She's a healer, uncle, and she heals those around her."
Tavington shook his head.
"No, uncle, it's true. Think about it. You got better when you were around her, and her wounds heal quickly." Seth nodded "And she helped O'Hara live."
"Seth!" Kelly grunted. She knew this was going to set him off further. Seth sighed. He should have kept his mouth shut.
"Wait...how did she help him live?"
"Seth, come on."
"No!" Tavington pulled out his pistol and pointed it at Seth's head making Kelly gasp and Seth shake in fear. He knew that Tavington could pull that trigger without hesitation. "You tell me right now, what is going on?!"
"Uncle, put the gun down!"shouted Kelly.
"I want the truth!"
Kelly was getting desperate "Then go talk to mother. Please, uncle!" Tavington clenched his jaw "Tell me now! Either you or Kelly tell me right now, or I put a bullet between your eyes. I'll count to 3. One. Two. Thre-"
"All right!" Kelly sobbed "I'll tell you, but you have to lower the pistol." Tavington took a deep breath then lowered his pistol. Kelly let out a sigh of relief as did Seth.
"Now, tell me the truth."
Kelly felt tears drop from her eyes "She made me promise not to tell you, Uncle. Don't make me break it and don't hurt, Seth."
Tavington clicked his tongue "All right, I'll ask the questions and you answer truthfully, so, you really wouldn't be breaking your promise, per se."
"Uncle," she let out a sob "please don't ask."
"Question 1: Does General O'Hara, fancy my sister?" Kelly gulped "Yes." "Question 2: Does she fancy him?" "Yes." Seth rubbed his neck nervously. "Question 3: How long have they been together?" Kelly shook "Since they got back." Tavington cleared his throat "Question 4: Are they serious?" Kelly crossed her arms as she started to shake "Yes." Tavington clenched his jaw "Final question: Is General O'Hara shagging my sister?" Kelly turned her head away. "Kelly!" he shouted making her jump "Yes or no?" "Yes," Kelly sobbed. Tavington punched the wall "Fuck!" then stormed off away from them.
Kelly looked at Seth with tears streaming down and fear in her eyes. Seth hugged her tightly as she began to sob "Seth, he's going to kill him. What have I done?" Seth took a deep breath and sighed as he gently pulled away from her "It wasn't your fault." He noticed a bruise already appearing on Kelly's face. Tavington hit her harder than he thought. "But he will kill him, Seth. I know it." Seth thought "I'd be worried about Jewel killing the Colonel after she finds out what he just did."
"Who will kill who?" asked Ban walking up to them with a mug in his hand. Seth looked at Kelly then to Ban "Colonel Tavington is going to kill General O'Hara." Ban blinked in shock "What?!"
"Ban, Colonel Tavington just forced Kelly to tell him something by threatening me. He knows that Jewel and O'Hara are involved."
"Involved? Wait you mean, involved, involved? Like they're fucking? She picked him over me?"
"Ban!" shouted Kelly.
Ban shook his head "All right, where did they go?"
"The garden I think," said Kelly.
Ban nodded then headed towards the garden when Bordon and Wilkins turned the corner. "What's wrong, Ban?" asked Bordon. "Don't ask, just follow," he said breathlessly. They both followed him outside.
"They'll stop him," said Seth. "I hope so," Kelly said sadly.
O'Hara and Jewel walked through the garden holding hands. "Well, aren't you going to ask me?" Jewel sighed.
"Ask what? Oh you mean, the blood splatter in the other room. Nah. It's not something that is new to me when it comes to you," he laughed. "I'll admit...it worries me, that you can do that and just shut yourself off that way, but at the same time I understand."
"You do?"
"Of course. Jewel, you've been through more than I could ever imagine and I can't even know how much pain and anger you hold inside. And, I won't lie, seeing how strong...and frightening can be is..." he laughed.
They both sat down on a bench "Can be what?" smiled Jewel. "A turn on?" she laughed.
O'Hara smiled blushing "Yes! I admit it!" They both laughed. Jewel looked at O'Hara "See, you have a dark side as well." She grabbed his hands "Follow me." He stood up and followed her "Where are we going?" They ran into a small labrinth in the garden. Jewel got to the ground bringing O'Hara on top of her, bringing him into a deep passionate kiss. She started to unbutton his jacket at a fast pace as he started to undo her pants. Then she moved to undoing his pants just enough. Both of them panting breathlessly. He crashed his lips against her, massaging his tongue with hers as he entered her swiftly, making them both groan. "Jewel, he panted as thrusted himself deeper and harder into her. "Oh, Charles," she groaned and he went faster. She dug her nails into his back. They crashed their lips to silence their groans of pleasure. She groaned loudly into his mouth as she came and dug her nails into his back. He dug his fingers into the ground as he came hard into her then collapsed on top of her. Both panting. "Oh Jewel." He rolled off of her and they both laughed as they lay next to each other. "Wow," he said.
She pulled her pants up as he did the same. They looked at each other and smiled at each other. "I love you, Jewel. I never know what to expect with you. I love it." Jewel smiled "We probably should get up and move out of here before someone comes around." He laughed "Yes, I suppose you're right." They both got up and walked away, back to the bench they were originally at. They exchanged looks and laughed again. "So," O'Hara smiled "When um...shall we set the wedding date?"
"As soon as possible, I would say."
"Just what I was thinking," said O'Hara.
"General!" Tavington shouted as he came walking towards them at a fast pace. O'Hara sighed and stood up "Colonel, whatever it is, I-"
Tavington punched him in the face before he could say another word.
"William!" Jewel shouted.
Once O'Hara was on the ground, Tavington jumped down and started to punch him over and over again, not letting up. "William! Stop!" Jewel tried to grab her brothers arm and tried to pull him back "Stop! Damn it!" His hand came back and hit Jewel in the face sending her backwards, almost hitting the bench. O'Hara saw Jewel fall to the ground and managed to block a punch so he could get a good one in, but that didn't didn't stop him from coming back. "William stop! You'll kill him!"
"Colonel!" yelled Ban then ran to help Jewel along with Bordon and Wilkins. It took all 3 men to pull Tavington off O'Hara. Jewel crawled over to him "Charles. Charles." He groaned as he moved on his side and looked at Jewel looking at her bruised cheek. He spit out blood. He tried to get up. He wanted to hit Tavington so bad. "No, love, just stay and relax for a minute," said Jewel noticing the bruises were quickly forming and all the blood from his nose and lip. Jewel leaned in and touched her forehead with his. She then looked to her brother "What the hell is the matter with you?!
Tavington saw the bruise on her cheek and felt his stomach tie in knots, but the anger took back over "I know, Jewel! I know about the two of you! Damn it, Jewel, why him?!"
"I love him, William! And he loves me!"
"He doesn't love anyone, but himself. That man has no soul."
Jewel shook her head "You don't even know him."
"And you do?"
She inhaled deeply "Yes, I do know him, more than anyone here."
Cornwallis came outside and saw O'Hara on the ground sitting up wiping the blood off his lip and Jewel on the ground with him with a bruise on her cheek then looked to Tavington who was still being restrained "What's going on?"
"Uh! My Lord, General O'Hara is shagging my sister!" Cornwallis looked shockingly at Tavington then turned his attention to O'Hara "General, is this true?"
"My lord," he spit out some blood then looked back to him "It's more than that. I love her," he looked to Jewel "I love her, more than I've ever loved any other woman in my life." Jewel smiled at him then sighed and looked to Cornwallis "And I love him, my lord. She noticed Kelly and Seth approach them and saw that Kelly had been crying. She knew that her brother must have done something to scare Kelly into telling him the truth.
"My lord, as her brother, I forbid this."
"He asked me to marry him, My lord," Jewel said in a matter of fact tone. She looked to her brother who was looking back at her "And I accepted his proposal." She turned and helped O'Hara up.
"Let me go, damn it!" yelled Tavington.
"Are you all right?" Jewel whispered examining his cuts and bruises. He smiled at her "I'm always all right when you're around." Jewel smiled and wrapped her arm around his waist "Let's get you inside." She walked up to Kelly and Seth. "Mum, I am so sorry. I didn't want to tell him." Jewel looked closer at Kelly's cheek and saw the bruise. She shifted her gaze to Seth who turned away. She felt her blood boil. "Kelly, Seth, please help Charles inside."
The men let go of Tavington once the fight was out of him. Jewel stalked up to them and stood there for a second, not really say anything then punched her brother with right hook nearly knocking him to the ground. Tavington didn't say anything just looked to his sister. He saw her eyes were changing color. "If you EVER hit my daughter again, William, I will beat the fuck out of you. You miserable, hateful, cold-hearted bastard!" She walked away without another word uttered. He watched her walk off and hung his head "Stupid," he muttered.
"You'll be lucky if the General doesn't want to see you hang for that, Colonel," said Cornwallis. He shook his head then headed back inside. Ban looked to Tavington "Tav, what the hell is wrong with you? Bloody hell, mate, you hit our superior! You hit Kelly as well? Along with your sister! You're out of control, Will."
"He has no business being around my sister."
"Tav," Bordon sighed "as much as I hate to admit it, I think he does love her." "Of all the people, I can't believe you would say that."
"I blew my chance with her and I do love her, but I've noticed the way he looks at her and the way she looks at him. They are totally and utterly in love with each other."
"Like hell," growled Tavington.
"Tav, I'm speaking to you as a friend. Do you love your sister?"
"Of course I do."
"Then let her be happy and if that's with O'Hara, then let it be so. Do not make her choose between you and him or anyone for that matter, because if you do, you'll lose her and her daughter. Your family. Your blood. I know what a asshole your father was, but don't become him, mate. I know you don't want to lose them. Think about it, Will. Is killing him, beating him or whatever, worth you losing your baby sister?"
Tavington sighed "No, but Ban, I can't stand to see her with him. He's not good enough for her."
Ban scoffed "Bloody hell, Will, she's your sister. No one will ever be good enough as far as you're concerned. My advice, go talk to them both and establish some sort of common ground for all of you. Do it for yourself and especially your sister. I've got some duties I have to attend to as do Bordon and Wilkins.
"We do?" they both asked.
"You do now," said Ban.
"Go talk to them, Tav. Good luck. Let's go gents." They both followed him. Tavington rubbed his hand on his face then turned back to the fort and sighed "All right. Here goes nothing," he said then headed inside.
