I apologize for not updating since May, but I plan to give this story my full attention for a while! For those of you who have stuck with me, thank you!

Chapter 36

Grimmauld Place

It was incredibly hot that summer. Harry kept to himself and wouldn't even talk to me. I was getting more and more worried. I believed it to only be because of watching Cedric die, but my heart told me there was something more. I was reading a book in the kitchen, it seemed to be coolest in there, when Harry came through the door. He was half dragging Dudley.

"Harry? What happened?"

"Dudley!? Vernon come quick!"

They sat Dudley down and gave him a can of popcorn. He was holding onto it and he looked out of it.

"Happy now are we? You've finally done it, finally driven him mad!" Uncle Vernon spat.

"Vernon stop."

"Well…just look at him Petunia! Our boy's gone yumpy!"

"Oh please, he looks he was attacked by a dementor."

"A what?"

Before I could say anything, an owl flew through the window. It dropped a letter and it came to life.

Oh lovely! A howler!

It proceeded to tell Harry he was expelled for using magic in the presence of a muggle. Then it wished him well and tore itself up.

"Justice!" Uncle Vernon said.

I rolled my eyes and then he and Aunt Petunia took Dudley to the hospital. Harry went upstairs and I sighed before following him.

"Harry, please tell me what's going on."

"It's nothing."

"Well it's obviously something! You don't sleep well, you're angry and you never talk anymore. Tell me what's wrong!"

He stood up and grabbed me.

"I'M FINE!"

He let me go and then laid down on his bed. My brother and I had never kept secrets from one another, minus the one of about Draco and myself. I nodded and then went downstairs. I started to hum my mum's lullaby, trying to remember the words like I had been for the past few months. It grew dark and I decided to sleep downstairs. Well that is until I heard the door open. I got up and pulled out my wand. I looked around the corner and recognized Moody.

"Professor Moody?" I asked.

"Ah there you are. Come along with us then."

I nodded and followed them upstairs. We got Harry and then we went outside.

"I've already been expelled." Harry said.

"Not yet. You cannot be expelled until the hearing." said Kingsly.

"Hearing?"

"Uh-huh."

"Don't worry Harry we'll explain everything when we get back to headquarters." Tonks said.

"Shhh! Not here Nymphadora!" hissed Moody.

She glared at him and her hair turned a burnt orange color.

"Don't call me Nymphadora!" She growled.

I smirked and Moody slammed his walking stick to the ground. My broom flew forward and so did everyone else's. I smiled and mounted my broom.

"Alright everyone, stay in formation. Don't break rank if one of us is killed." said Moody.

I rolled my eyes. We took off and Harry almost ran into a boat. I shook my head and we continued to follow Moody. When we landed, Moody banged his staff on the ground three times. The building started to stretch until revealed another flat. We walked into a narrow hallway and I heard voices inside. I saw Sirius inside the kitchen and I smiled. Mrs. Weasley came out and quickly shut the door.

"Harry! Katherine!"

She hugged us both and then looked at us.

"A bit peaky? I am afraid dinner will have to wait. Now go on upstairs."

I saw Snape as she walked back in and I smirked. We walked upstairs and saw a house elf on the way. He was grumbling something and we kept going. We went into the room Mrs. Weasley said. Hermione immediately threw her arms around Harry. I smiled and then she hugged me. I gave Ron a hug.

"I have been reading and they simply cannot expel you." Hermione said.

"Has no one read the Profit lately?" I asked.

They looked at me. Before I could speak any further, Fred and George apparated into the room. I jumped a bit and then shook my head. They told us they had a way to listen in on the meeting.

Draco's POV

The second I heard that Potter had been expelled my heart came up in my throat. Then my father came home very angry.

"They plan to give him a hearing!" he said.

"They should just put the nutter away."

"Exactly." he had said.

I really did hate my father. I was happy that they were going to give him a hearing. But from what I had heard about the ministry lately…..Fudge was going to try real hard to get him expelled. I badly wanted to got to her and be there for her, but I would not be allowed to fly there. And I did not even know where she was. There was only one more week before we went back to school…..but it was going to feel like a year to me now.
