The Apprentice: SG-1 Series

Chapter 38: Double Jeopardy

~(^.^)~

Third person P.O.V.

It was overcast over the Stargate on the alien world of Juna. Behind the Stargate in the distance an Egyptian Pyramid could be seen. In front of the Stargate was the dialing device covered in symbols with a big red dome shaped crystal in the center. In front of it down a short pathway were a variety of decorative large grey stones that appeared to almost be ceremonial. Suddenly all the red crystals on the Stargate lit up at once and the unstable vortex flushed sideways like a horizontal splash of water and then collapsed back in to form the rippling water like surface of the event horizon of the artificial wormhole. Out of the incoming wormhole came four figures, a woman and three men. One of the men was a Jaffa. The team was known as SG-1. They were carrying AK-47 machine guns, which was unusual because the SG teams had switched to the use of P-90s. The woman who went by the name of Dr. Samantha Carter had the rank of 'Captain' on her uniform.

"Col. O'Neill," said the Jaffa, "footprints right here. Several are Jaffa."

It was right at that moment when Col. O'Neill was hit by the blue electrical blast of a Zat'nic'tel, stunning him. Dr. Jackson, Capt. Carter, and Teal'c all took cover.

"Drop your weapons!" came a voice.

Within seconds they were surrounded by two dozen men that were clearly not Jaffa. They seemed to be locals using primitive weapons, but then there appeared one Jaffa. The black tattoo on his forehead indicated that he was a servant of Cronos.

"There is no escape!" said the Jaffa.

Teal'c, Dr. Jackson, and Capt. Carter put down their weapons lined up side-by-side and remained on their knees. Then one man who went by the name of Darien walked towards them apparently recognizing them.

"You!" Darien proclaimed, "You dare show your faces here again?!"

"You know who they are?" asked the Jaffa.

"Yes," Darien confirmed, "They are called SG-1. They are warriors from a planet called Earth."

Dr. Jackson had a look of confusion on his face.

"I'm sorry, do we know each other?" asked Dr. Jackson, perplexed.

"You have the nerve to pretend that you do not know me!" said the man in disappointment and irritation, "Eight months ago, you came to our world and led us in a rebellion against our God Herru'ur. You told us that we were free, and that we were to bury the Stargate. But everything you said was not true. Cronos came to this world and he told us that you were the enemy who led us astray from our true worship."

"Look," said Capt. Carter, "I think that there has been a big mistake with you knowing who we are."

"Don't take me for a fool," said Darien, "you are Major Carter."

Capt. Carter raised her eyebrow in suspicion at the incorrectness of his reference to her rank.

"You are Dr. Daniel Jackson, and you are Teal'c. But I'm surprised that there's only a four of you? Where are the other two members of your team, Skaara of Abydos, and your apprentice Adolfina?"

"Wait!" said Dr. Jackson in shock and surprise as he was under the mistaken impression that Skaara was host to the Goa'uld Klorel and Adolfina was a prisoner of Apophis, "Skaara and Adolfina are all right? And members of our team?"

"I have no time for this." said Darien. He then gave a signal to his men. "Take them and Col. O'Neill to…"

He cut himself off when he looked in Col. O'Neill's direction and realized that he was gone.

"Find him!" said the Jaffa that was standing there, "Take them to a holding cell."

~(^.^)~

Later {in the holding cell}

"That Darien guy called me Major?" Capt. Carter said in confusion.

"And what about the fact that they seem to know Skaara and Adolfina, and that they both seem to be free, and members of our team?" Daniel questioned.

"It is possible that some time with in the last three years Adolfina somehow managed to escape from her captivity of Apophis and brought the false God Klorel with her and that they had successfully found a way to remove the Symbiote," Teal'c suggested.

Later in the main chamber of the pyramid

The warriors of Juna were brought in and lined up. Then the three prisoners were brought in. Five giant rings came down from the ceiling and hovered above each other over the floor. With a flash of light three figures materialized, and then the rings went back up into the ceiling. Two of the figures were Jaffa, while the third was a man with no symbol on his forehead and he wore the royal clothing of a Greek Emperor.

"The treaty between the Asgard and the System Lords does not protect you here," Cronos informed in the loud and distorted voice of the Goa'uld. He then looked at Teal'c.

"Shol'va! You will not be as fortunate to die as quickly as your father did by my hand."

Teal'c did not show it on his face, but this came as a surprise and revelation to him as he was unaware that Cronos had killed his father. In that moment, he silently to himself vowed vengeance if he got the opportunity.

"Bring him closer!" commanded Cronos as he gestured to Dr. Jackson.

Daniel was brought forward and then again forced down on his knees.

"You!" Cronos gestured to Darian. One of the Jaffa then offered him a staff weapon, Darian then hesitantly took it, confused.

"In Honor of your god, kill him!" commanded Cronos, gesturing to Dr. Jackson.

Darian then turned in Dr. Jackson's direction, he aimed for Daniel's neck, he thumbed the button on the handle, the emitter at the end of the staff weapon popped open with a distorted static like sound, he then hesitated for a long 15 seconds… where he then pressed the button with his thumb. The small blast of superheated plasma fired right at Daniel's neck and his head was blown right off. On the stump of the neck they all expected to see bone, blood, and charred flesh. Instead they saw what appeared to be gears, and circuits, and sparks of electricity. They all then looked at their God who stood there with the most confused and perplexed look on his face.

~(^.^)~

Adolfina's P.O.V.

The team and I minus Daniel were coming down into the control room from the conference room right when the alarm sounded and the Stargate activated.

"We're receiving an IDC sir," Announced the control room technician sitting in front of the main computer, however we all waited for him to tell us which SG team it was.

He paused for a while and then he looked confused.

"Sir, it's on the IDC frequency, but it is of no code that the SGC has approved?"

Sam looked at the screen.

"It says, 'COMTRYA'? Sam stated sounding perplexed.

"What does it mean?" Hammond asked.

"Ahh, it's kinda like shalom or aloha, that stuff," Jack stated.

"It was the greeting that was used by the artificial life form Harlin on PX3-989?" said Teal'c.

I was vaguely familiar of this. I was a prisoner of Apophis and Klorel at the time but I read the report. Three years ago, SG-1 had gone to a planet and against their will, without their knowledge, they had been duplicated into the form of android bodies and then their minds, consciousness, thoughts, and memories, had been copied and pasted from the error original onto the robot android's hard drives. And that apparently, the robot SG-1 had no idea and they believed that they were the real ones. I'm still trying to wrap my head around that idea, I mean TWO JACKS!? I mean, the universe could barely stand one, and there actually is a second one out there, albeit a semi-feeble imitation of the original.

"The one who duplicated you?" General Hammond questioned.

"Yes, Sir please don't open the Gate, please," Jack pleaded.

I snickered at his antics and Jack shot a glare at me.

"I admit he was annoying but he wasn't a serious threat," Sam countered.

"Open the iris," General Hammond ordered.

I watched as the iris opened, and a slightly overweight man stepped through the event horizon. The SF's in the room all pointed their weapons at the man, and he jumped at the action.

"Ohh, ohh, I have no weapons," He stated, holding his hands up. General Hammond, the team, and I all moved into the gate room.

"Stand down," General Hammond ordered. The men all stood down, and Harlan seemed to relax.

"Oh, thank you for opening the doorway device that you call iris," Harlan exclaimed.

"Just for the record, I was opposed," Jack stated.

"rude," I whispered to him, nudging him lightly in the side. Harlan glanced at me for a second but looked back at General Hammond when he started talking.

"Welcome to Earth. I'm General Hammond, leader of this facility," General Hammond introduced.

"Comtraya. Yes, I have heard so much about you. I have also heard much about you Adolfina, and you as well Skarra of Abydos," Harlan replied, giving us all a strained smile.

"What's wrong Harlan?" Sam asked worriedly.

"Oh, please yes, it is a very big emergency. You must help…you," Harlan requested.

SGC, BRIEFING ROOM

Everybody except for Jack and Harlan were sitting around the briefing room table. Harlan was fidgeting nervously and he couldn't seem to stop biting his nails. Jack just looked annoyed that the man was here at all.

"I told them not to go. I begged them. Going through the Stargate is dangerous, very, very dangerous. You told me all about the Goa'uld, you did. You must help, yes, no?" Harlan asked, starting to pace.

"Harlan!" Jack exclaimed.

"Yes?" Harlan asked.

"Sit!" Jack ordered.

"Yes," Harlan replied, sitting down. He continued to bite at his nails, and I couldn't help but feel bad for the man. He was really worried for his friends.

"Now, from the beginning," Jack requested, sitting down as well.

"The beginning, yes. They were not happy, they could not stop being you. The portable power pack you invented…"

"The robot me?" Sam asked, cutting him off mid-sentence.

"Oh, it was ingenious. Even Hubbald would have been impressed. I have one in my chest now; would you like to see it?" Harlan answered.

"Yes," Sam exclaimed excitedly.

"No! You can show her later," Jack shouted before Harlan could move.

"Later yes. Help first," Harlan agreed.

"What type of help do you require?" Teal'c asked.

"Oh, not me. You. I mean the others," Harlan replied.

"What exactly has happened?" General Hammond questioned.

"Well they have not returned," Harlan stated.

"Where are they?" Sam asked.

"Away, they go away," Harlan said.

"Are you saying our robots are going through the Stargate on missions?" Sam questioned.

"Missions, yes," Harlan replied.

"What for?" Jack asked.

"I do not really know. What is it that you do?" Harlan said.

"Colonel O'Neill, it was my understanding that the robots agreed to bury their Stargate and never leave their planet," General Hammond stated.

"Yes Sir," Jack replied.

"Then it would seem your robot counterpart is equally as good at following orders as you," General Hammond said.

I snickered at this, and Skaara, who was sitting right next to me, shook with silent laughter. Jack shot us a glare and I stuck my tongue out at him.

"They have always returned after 24 hours. For safety. The power packs only last for 48 hours then they must be recharged," Harlan explained.

"How overdue are they?" Sam asked.

"16 hours. They do not have much time left. Ohhhh," Harlan muttered.

"General, I really don't think we're responsible for retrieving these robots," Jack exclaimed pleadingly.

"But you must. They are you," Harlan said.

He glanced around at all of us, and I gave him a sympathetic look. I felt for the man. His friends were off somewhere about to basically die and he was worried for them. It was just a bit creepy and weird that his friends are the robot copies of my team.

"Not me, they're not," Jack stated.

"Where is Doctor Jackson? He will help," Harlan requested.

"He's on a mission at the moment," Sam explained.

"Ohhh, you do that so much," Harlan muttered.

"The fact is I don't want to risk any of my people for the sake of some androids you created without authorization. However…"

"However, yes?" Harlan interrupted.

"I am concerned that information about this facility could potentially fall into the wrong hands," General Hammond said.

"Ah an excellent point," Harlan praised, smiling slightly.

"Sirs if I may, our robots are really so much like us they probably couldn't resist the chance to use the Gate to explore. I think then we can also assume that they would guard any top-secret information as closely as we would. Besides they don't have our IDC codes so they can't give those away," Sam stated.

"Colonel O'Neill, if you don't want to take this on, I'm not going to make it an order," General Hammond said.

"Thank you, Sir," Jack replied.

I frowned at that. I get that Jack isn't comfortable with the fact that a robot copy of him was made, but I mean they are still sentient beings. We should be doing something to help them!

"But I have grown accustomed. I cannot go on without them," Harlan murmured dejectedly.

"Sorry," Sam said. I glanced around the room then at Skaara, who also didn't seem to be too happy with the decision that was made.

"Then I shall just have to help myself," Harlan exclaimed, standing up.

CONTROL ROOM

Harlan was showing us the gate address to the planet that the robot copies of the team had gone to. While he was doing that, I was glaring holes into Jack. Jack just ignored me, but I know he knows I'm not happy with his decision not to help the robots.

"This one. This one. That one. This one. That one and this one," Harlan pointed.

"Hmm," Sam murmured.

"Hmm what?" Jack asked. Sam looked at the gate address for a minute.

"That's what I thought. P2X 729. We've been to this planet before," Sam stated.

"We did engage in battle with the Jaffa of Heru'ur. And liberated the people of Juna," Teal'c questioned.

"That's right. We told them to bury the Gate after we were gone. Are you sure you've got the right address?" Sam said.

"I could do a full diagnostic of my systems but it might be quicker to just dial the address," Harlan replied.

"Proceed," General Hammond ordered, nodding at Sam to dial the address.

"Yes, Sir," Sam said. I watched as the gate dialed out.

"Chevron 6 encoded. Chevron 7 locked," A technician stated as the gate opened.

"The Gate isn't buried," Sam said.

"It is possible the Goa'uld traveled to the planet by ship in order to reinstate command," Teal'c suggested.

"Heru'ur is dead, the Naquada mine was dry, those people didn't pose any threat," Sam countered.

"Another Goa'uld may have claimed the planet for different reasons," Teal'c replied.

"Why?" Jack questioned.

"Possibly strategic military position," Teal'c answered.

"We told them they'd be okay," Sam muttered.

"Send a probe. Let's find out," General Hammond ordered.

"Yes, Sir," Sam said. It took a couple of minutes to get a probe set up and ready to go. But soon enough we had a MALP on the other side of the gate.

"Receiving MALP telemetry," Sam stated.

The camera on the MALP was showing us the planet, and there was a Jaffa standing next to the MALP starring at it. Well I guess that confirms that the Goa'uld have returned to the planet. Suddenly a zat blast hit the Jaffa and he dropped to the ground, and then suddenly Jack's face appeared on the monitor.

"Woah. I'll never get used to that," The Jack standing next to me muttered.

"This is General Hammond of the SGC," General Hammond stated into the microphone.

"Hey George, how you doing? Who else you got there with you?" Robot Jack asked.

"Major Carter, Teal'c, Colonel O'Neill, Adolfina, Skaara, and Harlan," General Hammond answered.

"Harlan! I told you to stay away from Earth," Robot Jack shouted.

"Yeah well, I told you to bury your Gate," Jack fired back.

"Well you seem to think that solves a lot of problems dontcha?" Robot Jack replied.

"SG-1 was following my orders," General Hammond stated.

"I'm sorry. I did not know what else to do. Please return to our planet," Harlan requested.

"I can't do that just yet," Robot Jack stated.

I watched as the robot Jack pulled out his zat and pointed it at someone out of view. The person and robot Jack talked for a minute before a man appeared in the field of view of the camera. I recognized him as one of the men we met on the planet some time ago. His name is Darien.

"I now believe you spoke the truth about everything. Including the Gods," Darien stated.

"Why should I believe you?" Robot Jack asked.

"You must trust me as I must trust you. I am sorry about the one called Daniel," Darien said. What's that supposed to mean?

"To whom are you speaking?" Darien questioned, looking the MALP over.

"That's Darien," Sam muttered. "Earth. George Hammond and the other SG-1," Robot Jack answered.

"Hey! You're the other, pal," Jack exclaimed.

"Do we really have time for semantics here?" Robot Jack asked.

"What exactly is the current situation?" General Hammond questioned.

"Our Daniel is dead," Robot Jack stated. I sighed at that, and glanced over at Harlan who looked devastated.

"Oh my," Harlan murmured.

"Carter and Teal'c have been captured by Cronus. He's got a ship in orbit and his Jaffa are everywhere. So, it's just Darien and me," Robot Jack explained.

"Please, help us," Darien requested.

"You have a go. SG-1 is on its way," General Hammond stated. I smiled at that. So, we were saving the robots after all!

"Thanks, George. Harlan, you stay there," Robot Jack replied.

JUNA

We were met by Darien the second we came through the gate.

"This way," Darien exclaimed, walking off. We followed him down a pathway. "

They look very much like you," Darien stated.

"We know," Sam replied.

"Listen, for what it's worth, I'm sorry about what's happened here," Jack said.

The robot Jack stepped out from behind a group of trees. I couldn't help but look between the two Jacks. Wow this is weird as hell.

"Oh, I'm sure that makes him feel better," Robot Jack exclaimed.

"Hey. What the hell do you think you're doing?" Jack shouted.

"Same thing you do. Only better," Robot Jack replied.

"What does that mean?" Jack questioned.

"Better? It means bet-ter, stronger, faster," Robot Jack said.

"You're not me and you don't work for the Air Force," Jack stated.

"No. But that doesn't mean I can't do the job," Robot Jack said.

"What job?" Jack questioned.

"Explore the universe. Fight the Goa'uld," Robot Jack replied.

"Oh what, like now?" Jack said.

"Hey! You made this mess," Robot Jack shouted.

"What we did was help these people," Jack shot back.

It was like watching a match of tennis. They kept going back and forth shouting at each other. It was pretty damn amusing, though I was worried that their shouting would draw unwanted attention. Suddenly the two of them were fighting and Sam and I had to pull them apart. Sam grabbed the original Jack while I managed to pull the robot Jack away from the original.

"Sirs. As much as I'd like to see how this plays out, don't we have something more important to do?" Sam exclaimed.

The robot Jack scowled at the original and yanked his arm from my grip. He glanced down at me for a second then looked back at Jack before doing a double take. He stared at me for a minute eyes wide, and then suddenly he pulled me into a rib crushing hug.

"It's great to see you again squirt," He whispered.

I smiled, and gave him a quick hug back. He let go of me and his eyes wandered over to Skaara. A smile formed on his face, and he gave Skaara a hug as well. I noticed Jack rolling his eyes and I shook my head in amusement.

"What's with the giant rock on your finger?" Robot Jack questioned, grabbing my hand and looking at the ring.

"Oh, Skaara and I got married. We also have to twins who came through the Stargate from an alternate future timeline," I explained.

Robot Jack glanced up at me in surprise and looked like he was about to say something when Jack cut him off.

"All right can we get back to the problem at hand?" Jack exclaimed. Robot Jack scowled at Jack again.

"What can so few of us possibly do?" Darien asked.

"Couldn't get Hammond to spring for more troops?" Robot Jack asked.

"I didn't ask. This is our problem," Jack stated.

"I guess we can't expect any help from the rest of the Juna people?" Sam muttered.

"No," Darien replied.

"We convinced your people to oppose the Goa'uld once before," Teal'c stated.

"Most, including myself, had never seen an actual God before. Heru'ur had not come to Juna for many generations. And when Cronos arrived and displayed his great power he instilled much fear. The people are terrified," Darien explained.

"Then we must demonstrate to your people once and for all that Cronus is not a God," Teal'c replied.

"I assume you have a plan to back up that rather bold yet cryptic statement?" Robot Jack asked.

"Yes. Yes, we do," Jack said. Suddenly a horn sounded off in the distance.

"It is not safe to stay here. The forests are heavily patrolled," Darien explained.

"We're not done, pal!" Robot Jack exclaimed, pointing at Jack.

"I so own you!" Jack muttered.

~(^.^)~

DARIEN'S HOME, A SHORT TIME LATER

We were all seated around a table in Darien's home, discussing our plan to free the people of Juna.

"The only rings I've seen were in that pyramid," Robot Jack stated.

"There is a way into the main chamber," Teal'c said.

"Yeah, by putting the robot at risk," Robot Jack groused.

"Fine, I'll do it," Jack exclaimed.

"It's all right, I can handle it," Robot Jack said, rolling his eyes.

"This is very strange to me," Darien muttered. I snorted at this and shook my head. He has no idea.

"This kind of thing happens to us all the time," Sam stated, smiling.

"So how many Jaffa are we going to have to deal with on that ship?" Robot Jack asked. "As many as one thousand. But that is not the problem," Teal'c answered. "What is the problem?" Jack questioned.

"The rings must be activated from within the ship," Teal'c stated.

"Now see, you didn't mention that before," Jack said.

"We had very little time to formulate this plan, O'Neill," Teal'c defended.

"It's all right. Carter and Teal'c might be able to help. The other ones," Robot Jack said.

I glanced over at him in confusion. How are they going to know what to do?

"How are they going to know what to do and when?" Jack voiced my thoughts.

"I can communicate with them. I've been maintaining radio silence to protect my location," Robot Jack stated.

"I don't see a radio," Jack muttered.

"They're internal," Robot Jack explained.

"So you can actually send a signal to…"

"Wait. Excuse me," Robot Jack cut Sam off. He tapped his chest a couple times.

"A little static. They said they'd do what they can," Robot Jack said.

"What about the Jaffa on the ship?" Jack questioned.

"Once we have reached the pel'tac, the other levels can be sealed off. Cronus will have very few Jaffa remaining for support," Teal'c added.

"What do we with the other Jaffa once we've dealt with Cronus and taken over the ship?" Sam asked.

"We offer them freedom," Teal'c stated.

PYRAMID THRONE ROOM.

I watched as Darien lead Robot Jack into the throne room of the pyramid. I felt nervous, what if this doesn't work?

"The intruder has been captured," A Jaffa stated, stopping in front of another Jaffa.

"Cronus will be pleased," The other Jaffa replied.

"Truth be told, I do not think Cronus will be pleased at all," Darien said, shooting the Jaffa.

Robot Jack pulled out a gun and started shooting at any other Jaffa in the room. Jack, Teal'c, Sam, Skaara, and I all raced into the room firing our weapons. Staff blast where flying all over the place, and suddenly I was tackled to the ground. I glanced over at Robot Jack, who had been the one to tackle me. Smoke was coming off his side. Oh shit!

"Hey you okay?" I asked.

"I'm fine," He replied, sitting up slightly.

Silver liquid was flowing out of the wound on his side, and I cringed.

"Son of a bitch," I muttered.

"I'll be fine, just a bit of gas. Now go help the team," He mumbled.

I shook my head at that.

"Your stubborn as hell you know that. You better still be alive when I get back or I'll find a way to bring you back so I can kill you myself," I stated.

He laughed and nodded his head.

"No problem squirt," He whispered.

I stood up and walked over to where the team was standing waiting for Robot Sam to activate the rings. Within moments we were transported up onto the ship, and I noticed Robot Sam standing off to one side of the room. It looked like she'd been through some sort of explosion, and some skin was missing off her face showing the metal underneath.

"Nice work," Jack exclaimed.

"Teal'c's in trouble," Robot Sam stated.

"Where?" Teal'c questioned.

"He's on the pel'tac with Cronus," Robot Sam answered.

Teal'c raced off down the hallway.

"We need to seal off this level," Jack ordered.

"Apparently, there's a control center somewhere that services all the doors. Kinda like a circuit panel," Sam stated.

Sam took off down the hallway and we followed her. Sam stopped at a panel and opened it revealing the power unit. Several Jaffa came down the hallway and Jack shot at them. Robot Sam moved to help Sam with the panel, while Skaara, Jack, and I all took defensive positions firing at the Jaffa.

"Adolfina go help Teal'c we've got it here," Jack shouted suddenly.

I nodded my head and raced off in the direction of the Pel'tac. When I reached the Pel'tac of the ship I found several Jaffa dead, the robot Teal'c on the floor damaged, while Cronos had his hand in the real Teal'c's symbiote pouch and Teal'c looked like he was in great pain. I growled in anger and raised my P-90. Cronos however realized I had entered the room and stopped. He reached for the top of his Hand Device at the last second before I squeezed the trigger.

My gun unleashed a massive volley of bullets and Cronos's 'Personal-Shield' activated before the first bullet hit, DAMN! I didn't take my finger off the trigger, instead I emptied the entire magazine on his Shield. When Cronos realized that my gun was out, he dropped his shield, turned his palm in my direction and shot a blast of kinetic force at me and I was thrown into the wall. He then walked over to me.

"You dare challenge your god!?" he said in the loud and distorted voice of the Goa'uld in a combination tone of disbelief and disappointment. "You will die for this!"

He then activated the Hand Device aiming it right at my head. I was paralyzed from the pain. But he stopped suddenly a look of amusement crossing his face. He knelt down next to me, a smirk plastered across his face.

"Wait! I changed my mind!" he exclaimed.

He quickly stripped me of all my weapons throwing them to the other side of the room, but he didn't search my front pockets as they seemed empty at first glance from the outside. He then stood up and balled up his fists in front of himself.

"Just for fun, what do you say we finish this the old-fashioned way?" he said with a sadistic smile obviously taking pleasure from the thought that he could beat the shit out of me.

And suddenly I liked that idea, getting to beat up an arrogant Goa'uld, yeah, I defiantly like that idea. I got up and took a defensive posture to fight. I threw a punch, he blocked and then hit me in the stomach causing me to stumbled backwards a few steps. I remember now, a human body with a symbiote in it has many times the strength of a man, on second thought maybe fighting him like this is not such a good idea. He bore down on me but I moved and punched him in the face. He rubbed his jaw but seemed unharmed.

We exchanged hits while I got weaker and he never lost the upper hand. He seemed intent on not harming my face, when I finally lay on the floor, my whole body in pain from multiple hits, unable to get up. Cronos then knelt beside me on one knee and took my chin in his hand and scrutinized my face with a curious smile.

"You have spirit!" Cronos said almost admiringly, "For a woman. So, strong. So, brave. And on a personal note, a remarkable specimen!?"

I knew what that meant; he thinks I would make a good host for a symbiote. My heart raced at the thought of becoming host to one of those things.

"You would make an excellent new host for... myself!"

He then pulled me close to put his mouth to my neck as I felt a small cylinder object in my pocket that he hadn't checked.

"Wait!" I begged, "I have just one question!"

He pulled his head back and looked at me with interest.

"Do you like pepper?"

In a quick motion I sprayed Cronos in the eyes with the small aerosol can of pepper-spray. He staggered back as he rubbed his eyes in pain. I got to my feet and I threw all my strength and every pound and ounce of my body weight into a punch right in his face and broke my hand. I heard the crack of his jaw and saw a spurt of blood from his mouth, then I high jump kicked him in the chest. When I fell back to the ground I landed on top of a forgotten Staff Weapon. I picked it up and pressed the button on the handle with my thumb. The emitter popped open with an intimidating static sound.

He opened his bloodshot eyes and saw, with a look of utter fear, me pointing the readied Staff Weapon at him. He reached for the top of the wrist of his Hand Device but I pressed the button on the handle with my thumb first. It was almost slow-motion as the blast of plasma energy fired from the end of the Staff and hit Cronos right on his Hand Device. He screamed in pain and the Hand Device was disabled, sparking, the flesh on his hand charred and raw.

"Hey Cronos, when you get to the after-life, tell your god that I sent you...oh wait...you are your god!" I shouted maniacally.

I glanced over at Teal'c for a second, and I could see him glancing up at me, pain evident on his face. I was mad as hell! This man had hurt Teal'c, he had hurt Teal'c family, which meant he had my hurt my family, and I don't like it when people hurt my family. I get very, very angry when people hurt my family.

"And this one's for Teal'c father," I growled, firing again hitting him in the stomach.

He paused with a look of disbelief and despair and his eyes glowed. I fired again and again and again in two second intervals, saying one word at a time with each shot, "rest...in... Pieces!" I said with anger.

After twenty seconds of shooting him again and again his body completely relaxed on the floor, and the light finally went out in his eyes. I slumped to the floor in exhaustion, the staff weapon rolling out of my hand. Everything hurt, especially my broken hand. I glanced over at the two Teal'c's, who were both looking at me in worry, and crawled over to them.

"Teal'c are you alright?" I said with concern.

He was weak but was still able to get up.

"I am fine Adolfina," he reassured.

We went over to the robot Teal'c.

"Our father has been avenged," the robot said matter of factly, "You can save me if you get me back to the planet in two hours. Harlin will be able to fix me."

"Alright!" I said enthusiastically, "And we're killing three birds with one stone; we killed Cronos, we will free his Jaffa when we show his body, and we get to take home a Goa'uld Mothership."

Teal'c smiled at me, inclining his head in acknowledgment…

~(^.^)~

Later that day we had managed to get the duplicate Sam, Teal'c, and Jack back to Harlin in time for him to fix them.
