Disclaimer: I do not own The Walking Dead, nor the storylines. And of course, I don't make any money out of this (although I really wish I did). I will be following very closely the storylines from the first 4 seasons (with some modifications, of course).

I do, however, own Becca, Ben and Mike.

Chapter thirty-seven

A few days later, Becca and Daryl were walking down the hill, making their way to the cars. Rick had decided to bring in the cars yesterday, but all of them had been busy cleaning up the yard first.

"How ya feelin'?" Daryl asked.

"Better than last night" Becca answered with a smile. She waited a few minutes before speaking up again.

"You know… we should start thinking about telling them".

She saw Daryl chew the inside of his cheek, a telltale sign that he was nervous.

"Ya" He said after a few second, nodding his head. Becca snapped hers up, looking at Daryl.

"Really?" She asked, surprised he had agreed so easily. After the struggle to announce it to Rick and Hershel, she was expecting a little more difficulty than this.

Daryl nodded.

"Is tonight too early?" Becca questioned. She knew he had said ok, but she wanted to make sure she wasn't going too fast for him.

Daryl shook his head, and Becca smiled. Knowing that Becca was happy, Daryl curved his lips upwards.

They made their way to the rest of the group, watching Carol back the truck in.

"Ok, let get the other cars in" Rick said as Carol got out of the truck. "Park 'em on the west entry of the yard"

"Good." Daryl stated. "Being camped out there looked like a giant vacancy sign"

"After that, we need to load up the rest of the corpses, so we can burn 'em."

"Gonna be a long day" T-Dog added.

"Where's Glenn and Maggie?" Carol asked. "We could use some help"

"Up in the guard tower" Daryl answered.

"The guard tower? They were just up there last night…" Rick said.

Daryl and Becca shared a look, fully knowing it hadn't been Glenn and Maggie up there the previous night. Daryl then cupped a hand around his mouth and screamed at the two missing adults.

They all saw the shadows getting up and rushing around in the tower before Glenn finally opened the door.

"Hey… What's up guys?" Glenn asked.

"Ya comin'?" Daryl said and everyone next to him snickered at the double meaning.

"What?" Glenn asked, puzzled.

"Ya comin?" Daryl asked once more. As Glenn looked to Maggie, everyone laughed.

"Come on, we could use a hand" Daryl finished.

Becca shook her head once Daryl looked at her, having difficulties hiding her amusement. She then made her way back towards the prison, having been put in charge of cleaning the inside of the prison.

As she got closer to the gate, she saw the 2 prisoners walking towards her. She nods politely, not sure of how to address them, as they were known as the prisoners.

Just as she got inside the prison, her eyes landed on Lori, who was carrying the crutches that Daryl had found the previous day. Becca knew that Hershel not longer wanted to stay in bed.

"Alright, you just take your time" Becca heard Lori say to the older man.

"Daddy, don't push yourself" Beth told her father. Hershel laughter resonated in the prison.

"What else am I going to do?" he asked, getting up from the bed. Becca shook her head and smiled.

"Can't stand looking at that bottom of the bunk anymore" Hershel began, swaying a bit towards the end of his sentence. All three women grabbed onto him, making sure he wouldn't fall.

Hershel then took his crutched and took a few steps. "You know… I think I'm pretty steady"

"That's a good start" Lori said, "Wanna take a rest?"

"Rest? Let's go for a little stroll…" Hershel replied, getting out of the cell. Lori and Becca looked at each other as they followed Hershel.

After clumsily making it up the stairs with Lori and Becca's help, he adjusted his crutches and kept on going outside.

After opening the door, Lori placed herself in front of Hershel and Becca placed herself behind him, protecting him if he were to fall. Carl, Beth and Sophia were following the group.

Hershel slowly made his way down the stairs, a few close calls avoided.

"You cleared all those bodies out?" Hershel asked, surveying the field. "Starts to look like a place we could really live in"

"Hey" Lori stated as Hershel kept on walking further from the prison. "You watch your step"

"The last thing we need is you falling" Becca agreed.

They all looked up as Glenn's voice cheering for Hershel gravitated towards them.

"You're doing great Daddy" Beth said.

"Ready to race, Hershel?" Carl asked as Hershel gained a bit of speed. Becca smiled at the young boy.

"You give me another day" Hershel answered. "I'll take you on… you and Sophia"

After a few minutes of standing, watching Hershel walk around, Becca suddenly felt chills run through her body. Both her and Carl turned around to look behind them.

"Walkers!" Carl exclaimed.

Becca took out her gun and shot a few of the walkers as she made her way back to the cell block, Maggie joining her. They both yelled for Lori and Carl to join them and as Becca closed the gate behind them, she noticed Beth and Hershel safe in the other stairwell.

As they knew the gate wasn't strong enough to hold against the walkers, they all went back inside and headed towards the cell block.

Becca being first, she was stopped short from entering the cell block as she met up with walkers coming out of their cell block. She turned around quickly and guided everyone towards the tombs, this time Maggie leading the way.

They had only turned a few corner when they heard alarms blaring overhead. Becca suddenly felt lightheaded, and seeing this, Lori grabbed onto her and they both followed Maggie and Carl through the maze.

They turned a few more corners before Lori stopped in her tracks. Grabbing her stomach, she grunted out in pain.

"Something's not right" Lori stated.

"Are you bit?" Carl asked.

"No, no… I think the baby's coming"

"Mom?"

Walkers then turned the corner, cutting the conversation short as they once more ran from them.

After being cut off once again, Carl opened a door, which led to a storage room, and all four made their way in, Carl locking the door behind them.

"Concentrate on your breathing Lori" Becca told her as a contraction ripped through. Once it passed, Lori made her way down the stairs before a second one made its appearance, and Lori grabbed Becca's hand in shock.

"What are those alarms?" Lori asked after she had apologized to Becca.

"Don't worry about it" Maggie dismissed her.

"What if it attracts them?" Carl asked.

Becca leaned against the wall, a sudden wave of nausea and heat washing over her. "It's not ringing in here" She said between two deep breaths. "I doubt they'll come in here…"

"The baby's coming now" Lori said.

"We have to get back to the cell blocks and have Hershel help" Carl stated, heading towards the door.

"No, we can't" Maggie told him. "We risk getting caught out there, you're gonna need to give birth to this baby here" Maggie finished, looking at Lori.

"Ok" Lori agreed before breathing heavily.

"What is she doing?" Carl panicked. "Can't she breathe?"

"She's fine, Carl" Becca reassured the young boy before turning to Maggie. "Take off her pants"

"You're gonna help deliver you sister or brother… you ready for it?" Maggie asked Carl, both of them never noticing Becca slowly walk towards them.

"I have to check if your dilated" Maggie said to Lori.

"You know how?" Carl asked.

"My dad told me" Maggie confessed. "But trust me, it's my first time."

"Let me check" Becca said as Maggie pulled back and shook her head. Unfortunately, Becca wasn't able to concentrate enough to be able to determine if Lori was in fact dilated or not.

"I gotta push…" Lori stated. "I gotta push"

Maggie and Becca both helped Lori get up and situated her on a nearby bar.

Lori then grunted out in pain once more as she pushed.

"Somebody…." Lori pleaded, and Becca took her hand. A few seconds went by before Lori released Becca hands "I'm ok… I'm ok"

"That's it Lori, you body knows what to do" Becca coached as Maggie checked if she could see the head. "Let your body do all the work".

"Lori, don't push" Maggie exclaimed. "Something's wrong"

Becca looked at Maggie and saw her hand covered in blood.

Let me know what you think!
