Epilogue/Chapter 36: Good Night for Now, My Love

Kol Mikaelson was sitting in a booth at his baby, Vampire Burger. At the moment he was signing over the restaurant to its new owner when his cell rang. He smiled at the man sitting across from him. "Sorry. I need to take this." Kol slid out of the booth and walked outside. "Hello, Nik. Did you find your new home?"

Rebekah answered. "Hello, Kol. Yes, and you'll never guess what he did?"

Kol smiled. "Sister, darling, why do you have Nik's phone? You know he doesn't like it when others play with his things."

Rebekah laughed. "Ha ha, Kol. Nik is busy with his new purchase and my phone battery died."

"Well, why didn't you borrow Elijah's?" Kol inquired.

Rebekah sighed. "Because his new bride keeps texting people."

Kol gasped. "Did you say bride?"

Rebekah groaned. "Yes. Katerina, talked him into marrying her. I was forced to be her bridesmaid." Rebekah was silent for a moment. "It was a beautiful ceremony and Elijah seems happy. Although when he sees his phone bill he might begin to wonder about her spending habits. Oh, and you still didn't ask what Nik bought."

Kol grinned. "A soul?"

"Not very likely." Katherine's voice came on the line. "I love being married. When you get here I want to do it again."

Kol began to laugh. "Okay. What did Nik buy?"

"He bought a resort in Italy." Rebekah informed him.

Kol thought about that. "Hmm… I do believe that that is where my lovely Bonnie and I are going on vacation."

Rebekah replied.,"Yes. That is it exactly. Nik bought the resort that Caroline, Bonnie and the rest of the group are going to be staying at. He wants us to work for him, like your little restaurant."

Kol thought about it. "I'm not sure that that is a good idea."

Rebekah responded. "Nik doesn't care. He wants Caroline back and he is willing to do anything in his power to win her over."

Kol thought about it. "Well, I wish him luck. I will be there soon."

"Good-bye, Kol." Katherine called.

"Good-bye, new sister." Kol replied. "And good-bye, old sister."

Kol walked back into the store and finished signing the last piece of paper. He shook the hand of the new owner. "Take care of this place. It gave me a lot of good memories. And it was a pleasure meeting you, Mr. Shane."

Atticus Shane shook Kol's hand. "The pleasure was all mine and don't worry I have big plans for this place."

Kol left the store whistling. He climbed into his car and smiled at Nik Jr., who was in a pet carrier. "Hello there, my friend. Are you ready to go to Italy?"

Nik Jr, yipped. "Yes. I am, too. Ciao, Mystic Falls." With that Kol drove out of the parking lot of Vampire Burger and headed to a private airplane which would take him to meet his family and friends. Kol looked forward to what the rest of the summer would bring.
