"Lance, I need you to lay on this table, but you need to try to return to your original form. You are far too big in your current state." Shiro spoke, moving over a rolling table for Lance to lay on. The team had, of course, known Lance would risk his own life to save Lotor, that much was obvious. They were surprised that despite the risk of even the triplets being killed, he was still risking this.

Zethrid, the oh so tough galran, tried to convince Lance to just say his goodbyes and move on. As much as it pained her to have to say goodbye to her Galran Prince, risking the lives of three unborn babies was unheard of, especially when they had the mix of human, galran, and altean blood in them. They were already extraordinary as it were, losing them would be a tragedy.

However, Lance refused to change his mind, his response to her, was a simple, "A life without him, is no life at all." And that was that.

With everyone watching, Lance tried to calm down, he had no idea how he had shifted to his larger size in the first place, his body had done it on its own. He closed his eyes tightly, remembering the time Lotor taught him how to focus and shift the yellow sclera in his eyes to white when they were first heading to earth. It seemed like ages ago since everything had happened. He clenched his fists as he focused, remembering the smaller, thinner but muscular body he always had, and in a matter of minutes, he opened his eyes and looked around.

Lance was back to his normal height, eye level with most of the people on board. He turned his head and was surprised when long strands of brown hair slipped around his shoulders. He ran his hand through his hair. "I guess I don't know how to change my hair back yet." He said aloud. Despite the serious situation, Pidge let out a choked laugh, and Hunk's lips twisted into a small smile.

"Here." Keith spoke quietly, moving over and gathering up Lance's long hair, that was hanging past his shoulders, into a low hanging ponytail. Lance reached back to touch it, and turned to Keith. "Thanks..." He said, suddenly awkward. Keith had never really been nice to him. Even Keith seemed uncomfortable, but gave a small smile before moving away.

"Alright... let's do this." Lance said, lifting his body onto the table with ease. "Are you sure you still want to do this? The risks a-" Pidge started.

"I know the risks Pidge! I just need him back..." Lance snapped. The table was lined up with Lotor's, and Lance moved a hand over to slide into Lotor's hand. He gave it a gentle squeeze, his heart jumping. He could feel the triplets in him stirring too. They could tell their daddy was nearby, and that he needed help. 'We will save him.' Lance thought to himself and his children.

Lance closed his eyes, lacing his finger's between Lotor's as Allura started working. Her Altean markings glowing as she raised her hands and focused. Pidge moved over to her own monitors to check on Lance's vitals. Lance felt a tug pulling on his body, something, or someone was being tugged out of him.

"Everything looks good. Heart rate is normal, blood pressure is no-" Lance suddenly fell out of consciousness.

~.~.~.~.~.~

Moments later, Lance tried to force his eyes open, when he finally could, he realized he was no longer on the Castle. He was floating around in pitch darkness. He twisted his body around, looking for any source of light. "Hello?" He called out, his voice echoing back to him.

"Lance..." A voice spoke quietly, Lance whipped around and came face to face with Lotor. He was in his torn up battle armor, his long white hair gliding along the crack and along his face. His eyes look tired, and sad. Lance reached towards him, trying to move closer, but was unable.

"Lotor! I am here! We are here for you, we are going to save you!" Lance cried out, trying to reach for Lotor. Lotor didn't move a muscle, didn't try to reach back, he hung his head and looked away. Lance dropped his arms. "Lotor...?"

"Don't do it." Lotor spoke again. Lance felt his body shaking. "Don't? Why the quiznak wouldn't I? I LOVE you, I would do anything for you! We are suppose to get married, suppose to start our family, I can't do it without you. It's all my fault.. i came to the battle knowing it was too dangerous. I risked everyone's lives. It is my fault... Lotor... Lotor I am so sorry.. please..." Lance was sobbing uncontrollably.

Lotor's stunning ocean-blue eyes turned and locked with Lance's. "Lance.. you are a warrior, a strong heart in battle. I understand that you wanted to help, I am not mad at you, rather, I am grateful for your help. However, if you try to take the part of me that is inside you out, it will kill you and the babies. I won't allow it."

Lance felt his eyes well up in tears, but not a drop slid down his cheeks. "I can't do it without you! Please!" Lance cried out, reaching again desperately for Lotor's hands. Lotor finally reached out and the two laced their fingers together. Lance felt his heart skip a beat, he let out an awkward laugh and tried to move closer, but an invisible barrier prevented that. "Please Lotor, You have a life outside of battle, spend it with me."

Lotor shook his head slowly. "I will not risk the life of my beloved and my children just to live a little longer. I am over ten thousand years old Lance, I have done my time, I have died an honorable death, trying to kill my father and save the entire universe. I have you to thank for dealing the final blow."

Lance shook his head, a sob slipping out of his throat. "No... NO.. I can't do this without you! Please, come back to me!"

"Lance... I will always be with you, inside you. You can feel it can't you? We are connected, in more ways than one. Live a full life, raise our children, create a world of your own. Do it, for me." Lotor said, smiling softly at Lance. Lance was crying and shaking his head, but the words from Lotor pounded into his brain. Lotor's body slowly started to fade away, become transparent.

Lance become frantic. "Don't leave me! Come back! I love you! No!... Please..."

"I love you... my beloved kitten." Lotor's final words slipped from the darkness as his body vanished, and Lance's hand fell to his side.

Lance raised his head, and let out a heartbreaking scream.

~.~.~.~.~.~

"...No...no... something is wrong! Lance wake up! Lance! LANCE!" Lance's head was hazzy as he tried to open his eyes. A beeping from the monitor was screaming in his ear, and frantic cries from Allura and Pidge were all he heard. He struggled through the pull that seem to hold him down, and bolted up, eyes open and alert.

"W-what's happening?" He choked out. Pidge managed to stop the beeping, and everyone in the room stood in silence. Lance twisted his head towards Allura, who was standing, pale, with her hands frozen in the air.

"What happened?" He snarled.

"He's gone... his presence.. it just vanished.. I... I don't know what I did wrong." Allura cried, covering her face with her hands and collapsing onto the floor. Lance turned and looked at Lotor's body, his face paling.

"No... no... that... that can't be.. it was a dream, that is all it was.. a dream... Lo... Lotor! Lotor wake up!" Lance scrambled from the table, gripping Lotor's cold hands in his own as he cried over and over for Lotor to wake up.

After a moment, he stood up and turned to Pidge. "Tell me it's not true!" Pidge was shaking, and shoved her glasses up her nose as she typed on her computer. "I... I don't know... One second Allura was working on moving Lotor's spirit into his body, then... then you suddenly fell asleep, and the next thing we knew, his presence was gone! Allura tried everything to find it, but she couldn't! I.. I don't know what happened! Lance, I am so sorry!"

Pidge cried, wiping at her eyes as all the other members on the Castle stood in silence. Acxa and Ezor were crying and hugging each other, Zethrid was glaring at nothing, her eyebrows furrowed and tears welling up in her eyes.

Lance twisted around, looking at everyone for an answer, but he knew what the answer was.

Lotor, was gone. He was willing to give up the chance to keep living, for the well being of his family. Lance suddenly felt a calmness in his heart, as if Lotor was there still, pressing his hand against Lance's chest and relaxing him.

Lance turned back towards Lotor, pressing one of his hands on Lotor's chest as he spoke.

"Lotor refused to take the little part of him that was inside me... He... he didn't want me or the children to die. He did this so we would have a chance at survival. He is... was... an amazing man... I love him, and will always love him..."

Everyone on board were surprised by how calm Lance had suddenly become. Shiro blinked, Lance had grown up, in more ways than one. Lance leaned down and pressed a tender kiss to Lotor's forehead, brushing his soft white hair to the side.

As he leaned up, he turned and spoke to his teammates. "We need to have a proper burial, I want the world, no.. the universe to know of Lotor's good deeds. He was the son of a horrible king, and a twisted mother, but he made his own path and found a life he could have had."

Everyone nodded, and Zethrid moved over to squeeze his shoulder. "We will erect a giant statue in his favor, all of the galran empire will know of him and his vision of a peaceful world between galran and others."

Lance smiled shakily up at Zethrid, his heart was calm but his body was still upset. He nodded and turned away. "I am... heading back to earth."

"Lance.. I don't think you should be alone right now." Keith spoke up. Lance turned towards his friend. "I won't be, I have them." He looked down and pressed a hand on his belly. He could feel each of the growing babies respond to his touch, and a small smile crept on his lips. "Lotor wanted us to live on, and I will do that."

He turned, bidded his friends goodbye, and left. He entered Blue, feeling her sadness slip into him as he sat down. He felt his heart clench, and gripped at his seat until his hands were white. He choked out a sob as he keeled over, crying quietly in his lion. Blue pressed her conscious against his own, to let him know she was there.

After what felt like hours, Lance sat up, wiped away the tears from his reddened eyes, and turned to grab his helmet. He stared at his reflection for a moment, realizing that during the time of trying to bring Lotor back, the stress on his body, or the altean blood, whatever it may be, had turned all his hair white. He looked more and more like Lotor.

He smiled softly at his reflection in the helmet, tugging the hairtie Keith had giving him and letting his long white hair flow along his shoulders. He took a shaky breath, before slipping the helmet on and leaning back in the chair.

"Let's head home Blue.." He spoke. Blue growled in agreement, and Lance was off, back to his home.

~Ten Years Later~

"Play nice you guys! Veronica will have my head if one of her kids get even a scratch!" Lance called out as he sat in a lawn chair.

After Lance had gotten home ten years ago, after the battle with Zarkon and the loss of his lover, his family had thrown a quiet service to praise Lotor for what he had Paladins and Lotor's generals all showed up, and after the service, only the Paladins and three of the generals went back to space. Narti, however, stayed behind. She and Lance had shared a special bond when she had first revealed to him that she could communicate via telepathy. He was the first she told, even before Lotor. The two could feel the pain they shared for the loss of Lotor, and Narti wanted to devote herself to Lance.

Because Lance and Lotor had never got married, Lance never gained title of royalty, so he was not deemed worthy to take over as a Galran leader. Lance, however, was never wanting to marry Lotor for his title, so living a quiet life on his home planet was fine with him. The generals and the paladins had gone around telling the story of Lotor, the Galran Prince who fought for peace. A statue of him was erected on many planets who saw Lotor for more than the son of a twisted king, and he was worshiped and praised among many.

The birth of the triplets was a strain on Lance's body, even though his body had changed to properly grow the babies, he did not have the ability to give a natural birth. When Lance had gone into labor, the doctor decided to perform a c-section; cutting Lance's belly open to retrieve the babies. All three babies were healthy and beautiful.

Lance had two girls, and one boy, and he felt overjoyed to bring his own healthy children into the world.

The first one to be pulled out, was a gorgeous girl Lance named Honerva, in honor of Lotor's mother. She had turned into the horrible druid Haggar, but in the end her heart had softened and she wished her son the best with his new life. Honerva was a fiesty one. She had bright blue eyes, a white sclera, and light purple skin. Her hair was a mixture of brown and white, and she loved to have her hair up in a pony tail. By the age of 5, she had grown altean markings, and at times was unable to control her ability and would often shape shift into things well.. not of the earth. Honerva would say things like it is, she had no problem fighting off bullies and would defend her other siblings no matter what. She was very spirited.

The second child to be born was the other girl, Lance named Lotty, a female version name of Lotor, at least in his mind. Lotty had tan skin like Lance did, she had light golden eyes and pointed ears. Her hair was all brown, and she preferred to keep it short. Lotty was not as spirited as her older sister, she enjoyed to play with her siblings but was incredibly shy when it came to new people. She would often hide behind her sister when someone came up. She loved reading and hearing stories about her father, Lotor.

And finally, the third child was the boy, Lance named Percy, and he was loved by all. Even his older sisters doted after him. Percy was the smallest of the three, and despite this, he was as vocal as Honerva. Percy had white curly hair, blue eyes with a yellow sclera, and tan skin like Lance. He had no signs of Altean markings, yet, but Lance could feel that there was something powerful about that boy. Honerva had no problem defending her young siblings, but Percy wouldn't stand down either. The two were like a dynamic duo, and when it came to defending their sister Lotty, they would take no crap from anyone.

Raising the rumbustious children on his own was hard, but with the help of Narti, the children had grown up into find 10 year olds. Today was their birthday, and after filling up on cake, candy, and gallons of soda, the children were all out playing with their cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Lance refused to cut his hair, he would trim it, but it would continue to stay as long as Lotor's hair once was. He could not part with it, it helped him relax and know that no matter what, Lotor was always with them.

Narti walked up as Lance watched his children play, handing him a lemonade as the sun shown brightly. She doned similar armor to what she always wore, but instead in colors of blue and white.

'The children have grown up well Lance.' Her voice spoke softly in his mind. Lance smiled as he watched the, his eyes sparkling as he saw a bit of Lotor in each of them.

"Indeed they have." He spoke aloud. He ran his fingers through his hair, before tracing the outline of the engagement earring that Lotor had given him. His fingers delicately touched the cold metal as he closed his eyes and remembered for the billionth time, the wonderful moments he had shared with Lotor. His mother had often asked him if he had plans to find a nice girl or guy, but he refused. His love would always belong to Lotor, and now he would focus all his love towards his beautiful children.

The children were screaming and laughing as they played with their extended family. They were having a blast, covered in water and sand. After a moment of playing, all three children rushed over to Lance. Honerva jumped into his arms, causing him to spill his lemonade.

"Honerva!" He gasped, tickling her and making her laugh.

"Hehe, ahahaha, stop mommy! Stoppp!" She cried out, giggling. Lotty and Percy both moved over to sit at Lance's legs. Lance smiled, looking down at them. "Are you guys tired after playing in the sun for hours? You want a nap?"

All three shook their heads. He tilted his head curiously at them. "We want to hear more about daddy!" Honerva squealed, bouncing up and down on Lance's knees.

Lance let out a fake groan. "Again? I swear I have told you stories of him every day for the past 7 years!"

Lotty and Percy giggled. "We love hearing about daddy! Please mommy, tell us the story!" Lotty chirped in.

"Haha alright alright, what story do you want to hear?" He asked.

"The first time you two met!" Percy piped in. Lance smiled, spreading his arms wide as Honerva snuggled into his chest. "Alright you two, hop on." He spoke. Lotty and Percy both squeezed onto his lap as he hugged them all.

"We met at a place called the Eclipse.." He started before one of them interrupted.

"Is that like a super romantic place?" Honerva asked. Lance laughed. "Well.. something like that."

Honerva sighed. "It must have been such an amazing feeling to meet daddy!"

Lance's eyes welled up a bit at the memories, pressing a kiss to Honerva's forehead.

"It was, it was truly magical."

The End.

Alright.. so before you all come at me with pitch forks and torches, I had many different ways I wanted to end this story, and I wasn't originally planning to end it with this last chapter, but part of me thought this would be more interesting.

HOWEVER, I am working on an alternative ending, where Lotor survives, but only if you guys want that ending. If you think this ending was a perfect end to a story, let me know. If you want a different more happier ending, let me know too!

I also want to thank each and every one of you for the unwavering support and love you have given me and my story over the past two years. I never imagined my story would get this popular or get this big. As I have said many times, I was planning to leave it as a one-shot, but you guys spurred me on and it continued into a bigger story than I ever imagined. I have fallen in love more and more with each chapter, of the characters, and the story. I never expected it to get this far, and I never had an ending planned, so every chapter was a wild ride for me too!

You are all so amazing and I feel as if I have grown as a writer with this story. Thank you so much, and stay awesome my lovelies! I love you all!
