THE BETTER VILLAIN
A/N: Aw you guys never cease to amaze me. Once again, you have been wonderful with your reviews and I continue on with the story…
"My sister, the saint"
Nik's welcome had me rolling my eyes and pushing past him so I could walk into the hotel room. Once inside, I slipped off the jacket and carelessly flung it over a chair as I retrieved a blood bag from the mini fridge. "We got the message across" I replied, knowing that he had followed after me. "You should not have gone after him" I whirled around to scold him. "The kid's what? 16?" I reprimanded and bit down on the top, ripping it off with my teeth and drinking down the flaccid taste. It did what it had to.
"Payback, dear sister" he replied and sat down on the dining table.
I slammed a hand on the table and glowered at him. "If you want to exert revenge, do it on those who deserve it" I chastised him and gulped down some more.
"And I'm supposed to believe you have a better plan" he mocked, hitching an eyebrow.
After a thought was carefully evaluated, I nodded tiredly, "I do"
"Can I trust you?"
He placed a hand on his heart and playfully looked up. "I swear on my mother's grave" he mused and I threw the first thing I could find. Unfortunately, he ducked but Rebekah had whipped out her hand and captured it, making herself known.
Niklaus was still playing the cocky bastard as he smirked at me. "Before you begin to wear the white hat, I do have a few conditions" he muttered but I grimaced, still annoyed with his previous attempt at a joke. However, he took our silence as compliance as he began his list. "First of all, I would like you both to leave this crummy hotel room" he ordered and I scoffed.
"And go where?" Rebekah spoke up, walking over to sit on the table top, essentially with the Lucky Charms cereal box in her hands.
Nik gained my attention again when he revealed, "I bought a place"
"You're staying?" I gasped and released the blood bag with a loud pop of my lips. "I thought we had an agreement" I exclaimed heatedly.
He ignored my scream and calmly stood from the seat, locked his hands behind his back and sauntered around the room. "We were born here, raised here…" he paused and craned his head back to us, "…and I will be damned, if I allow a bunch of children and drunken amateurs to drive us out of our town" he spat out in disgust.
I nodded in understanding, "You want to take it back" I guessed.
"I'm going to take it back" he corrected and then stared at me intensely. "With my family beside me" he added with an underlying desperation that he had accidently slipped.
Regardless, I didn't care for his needs because his previous declination of my offer was still fresh on my mind. I had pledged my loyalty in everything but blood, but he made a fool of me. There was no way we could ever get back to what we once were.
"Don't hold your breath" I breathed and threw my blood bag into the bin as I turned back to address them and reclaim the 'white hat'. "Now, for plan B"

Yet another party – well this one was a council members only party. Very exclusive and
From across the room, Rebekah broke eye contact with the council member she was talking to as she turned back to me and faked a yawn. I smirked and set a questioning look at the plunging neckline of her sequined dress.
Me however, she'd dressed up in a small black dress but I chose the ripped tights, combat boots and leather jacket. I didn't even allow her to touch my hair as I left it, messy as it had been before but with a comb through with my fingers.
This had only annoyed Rebekah further. The first was the fact that she wanted to go and have fun terrorising Elena, which I did not disagree to but Nik argued for.
Thankfully, they agreed to my decision and going to the source itself. That was why we were now meeting Stefan at the Founders meeting and I was talking to the mayor. "It's so wonderful to meet a relative of Klaus" she grinned all too widely and I subtly returned it. "I hope you're enjoying your stay here" she continued in her bubbly Stepford wife tone.
"Well this town has been most welcoming" I replied, falling back into my American accent. Before I could continue with the appraisal, my eyes flickered up to Mr. Tall, dark and dangerous across the room. We briefly locked gazes before he broke it and looked down with furrowed eyebrows.
"Oh, you know Damon?" the mayor suddenly asked and I blinked rapidly, looking back to her.
I easily shrugged it off and took a long sip of the champagne. "We've bumped into each other a couple of times" I replied and couldn't help but glance towards him again, only to find he was in mid-conversation with none other than my brother. "Excuse me…" I muttered and brushed past her and walked towards them.
"Where's Stefan?" I called out, causing them both to turn to me.
"Your brother" he spat out the term as if it was a curse, "…thought he knew he was getting into but right now, Stefan is off the wagon" Damon ranted and the steeled gaze tried to be discreet when trailing over my form.
I placed a hand on my hip, "Meaning…?"
"Meaning that my brother is not my brother" he elaborated and shook his head and ran his fingers through his hair with an angered hiss. His concern marring his features as he turned to address Nik. "Getting him back on human blood was the worst revenge plan ever" he growled at Nik who simply rolled his eyes. "Maybe you can call it karma" Damon added confidently and I wondered why he was still intact, if this was how he had been speaking to Niklaus.
Regardless, I was on a mission and shouldn't let myself be distracted. We were going by my plan, not Nik's so I decided to take control. "We want the coffins" I stated and moved in towards Damon so he stared at me. "Now" I added sternly.
"And I'd give them to you, if I knew where they were" he argued and straightened up.
I continued to block his path and refused to be intimidated by how strange the situation was. "Call your little brother and tell him that if he doesn't deliver, we start leaving limbs across the highway" I smiled sweetly when his expression fell.
"Stefan just left a dead hybrid upstairs" Damon revealed and I drew back, surprised with the sincerity in his voice and confirmation from Niklaus. Clearly I had underestimated Stefan but no more. "He's so far gone and he won't listen to me" Damon continued but I already had a plan formulating.
Stepping back from Damon, I crossed my arms over my chest. "Well you know what they say…" I trailed off, tearing my eyes away from him and onto my brother. "Actions speak louder than words" I smirked deviously once the plan was definite.

After being hidden in the shadowed trees for over ten very long, very boring minutes, I welcomed the sound of the loud purring engine of the shiny red Porsche. As it accelerated and shot through the icy atmosphere and further into the darkness, I smiled and pushed at the balls of my feet. In a split second, I was breaking through the chilled night as I increased the speed with each lunge before finally pushing my whole form up.
Acting on the air, I crouched and jumped, calculating the distance perfectly as my feet landed on the top of the car. The top shook and the car swerved so I opened up my arms to regain balance. I then planted one palm on the metal, my fingernails intentionally scratching the hardened surface.
I heard the arguing in the car dull to both of them asking what was happening. Elena's heartbeat quickened and Stefan's breaths were sharper which pleased me.
Seeing the edge of the broken bridge ahead, I quickly flung myself off and twisted my form so I landed a foot away from the approaching car. Before it could crash into me, I slammed my hand on the roof, causing it to come to a screeching stop. The engine released an exhausted huff as my palm dented the metal while my eyes locked onto blazing wild green ones through the windshield.
"I'm done playing games" I growled and threw a sharp punch, breaking through the glass as I ripped off the seatbelt and pulled Elena out. "You wanted to throw her down the river" I reminded him when he rushed out in a panicked frenzy. "Clever plan Stefan…" I appraised him and taunted him when backing up the bridge, Elena still secured in my tightened grasp. "Only you forgot one thing" I held up one finger, "My brother may care for Elena but I don't" I shook my head, enjoying his panicked state. "Hand over the coffins" I negotiated and he parted his lips but said nothing. He clenched his jaw and tautly shook his head in defiance.
A laugh left me but was quickly cut off with Damon's arrival. "Stefan, you lost. Give them what they want" he worriedly glanced at his brother and then to me and finally down to Elena. A flash of iced panic crossed the frosted cobalt.
"Where are they?" I added and gradually grew tired of the silence being passed between them. "I will throw her into this river and hold her down to her last breath" I vowed and my grip on Elena tightened, making her squirm and growl through gritted teeth. "And you won't be able to stop me" I promised and backed up another step, feeling the edge of the bridge on the foot on my feet.
"Call Klaus" I demanded.
"You won't do it" Stefan shook his head with a sly smile lifting his lips.
Again, I scoffed in disbelief, "Excuse me?"
"You and Damon – you have this thing" Stefan countered and slowly approached us. "And you know that Damon cares about Elena" he calculated with a knowing grin, "He would never forgive you" he continued with his logic that seemed to grate my ears.
Within a flash, I spun Elena around so she was closer to the edge. I gestured towards the large gash in her thigh from when I pulled her through the glass. "That looks awful" I teased playfully while she whimpered and cried a ripple of pleas for me to let her go. "If you're not healed soon, you might just bleed to death" I pointed out and looked back to the Salvatore brothers who were once again reunited as they tried to save the girl they cared about.
"Bonnie has them" Damon finally revealed.
"Elaborate"
Stefan took a quick glimpse at his brother and then back to me as he tiredly added, "She's using the power of the dead witches to help her" he cooperated and I smiled at the victory.
"Of course…" I murmured absentmindedly, thinking back to the witches' massacre that Kol had played a hand in.
"I've given you what you want" Damon pulled me from my stupor.
I played the innocent and wrapped my arms around the trembling doppelganger again. "How can I be sure you're telling the truth?" I taunted.
"I'm not stupid" Stefan dryly answered and I caught how he gulped nervously and met Elena's eyes.
I shook my head at his impulsive nature. "After today's aftermath, I highly doubt that"
"Just hand her over and stop with the games" Damon snapped and his curt tone didn't settle too well with me. If anything, it only sparked the sadistic monster rattling its cages within me.
After briefly glowering at him, I sneered, "Games?" I chuckled against Elena, causing her to whimper again. "Okay then, let's play…treasure hunt" I widely grinned when I caught see the recognition spark within their expressions. However, they were a second too late as I fell back, holding Elena as gravity pulled us down and we crashed into the water.
I didn't wait because the second we broke through the surface, I began to pull Elena deeper into the darkened waters. My arm pushing through the currents as we descended further into muddy currents and though the deeper we went, the slower I became, I couldn't give up.
Elena's survival instincts kicked in and she began to thrash, trying to squirm her away free. However, my hold on her only tightened around her wrist as her screams were gurgled underwater.
I paused briefly at her sweet scent now clouding the water and I looked behind to see the blood that now tainted the water. It was my distracted phase that gave them the lead they needed because a second after, Stefan emerged into my view and grabbed Elena's other hand, tugging at her.
Thankfully, Elena's heartbeat was slowly dulling and her movements were tiring out as her muscles languidly gave in.
At this change, I smirked openly and released her.
No glance was spared as both of the brothers pulled their girl to the surface.
Just as I was about to chase after them, I froze and fluttered my eyes to a close, revelling in the silence. My whole form relaxing to a complete still as the darkness was now filling my every sense; overwhelming me and anchoring my muscles.
After another second, I opened my eyes and began to push up, kicking my legs and pushing my body up until I finally cracked through the lapping waves. A delicious gasp left me as I floated for a while, looking around but only to see them climb over the bridge, pulling up the subconscious Elena with them.
Releasing another sigh, I pushed up and pulled myself up the bridge with a half-hearted laugh. "A little game, right?" I teased and began to twist the heavy dampened locks. Only, I ended up being interrupted with Damon closing in and pushing at my chest, causing me to stumble back.
"You need to stop!" he screamed.
My jaw was set as I took a defined step ton him. "NO!" I argued and glared at him. "You do" I corrected and watched in anger as he made a move to leave.
"Let's get out of here…" he huffed.
"Oh Damon…" I sighed and looked up to the blank night sky. "You really do underestimate me" I breathed, wishing I could make him see the bad that I had done. For now, I would just have to keep demonstrating.
…and with that thought, I flashed over and grabbed his arm, twisting it behind his back and causing him to growl in pain. I ignored this and placed my lips next to his ear as I darkly whispered, "Disobey me again and I will make it much worse" I promised and threw him away from me, causing him to land on the floor.
As I then walked past him and down the road, I paused by Stefan who sat by Elena. "Hopefully we won't have to stretch to such drastic measures next time" I smiled but he rolled his eyes. "My brother and I have a lot of respect for you" I added and placed an innocent hand on my cheek. "Giving yourself over to save your brother" I recounted what Nik had told me and then something else dawned onto me. Wearing a mischievous smirk, I continued, "It's even more admirable to let him hook up with your girlfriend"
This caught his attention as he snapped his head up and looked at the fearful Elena and pissed off Damon. Both of them who suddenly rested their angered glares onto me, giving Stefan everything he needed to know.
I simply smiled. "Good luck with that" I winked at the heavily breathing Elena and didn't satisfy Damon with looking at him. "Have a good night"
A/N: There you have it. She seems to grow darker by the second; do you love it?
Leave a review on what you think about Damon and Bella. Any hope for them?
