The Present is a Gift Part 2

Time has passed. Days that turn into weeks, that became months. Times of joy. The great wonders of the friendship between a gold bear and a gold bunny. They became what is called a family. They were always with each other. They played together, joked together, performed together, lived together. They became partial. A bond between them so strong, nothing could tear them apart. Almost as if they were extensions of each other, and they reached out for each other. Finding peace and happiness by being beside the other. A care and love so deep, if there was more than just brotherhood, this would be it. To them, they was nothing more satisfying, than seeing the face of their dear family member. Goldy and Benny were more than just brothers. They were more than just a family. They were each others pride and joy, another section of them that they couldn't live without.

Everything was perfect. The restaurant business was booming, and the two were enjoying their new updates. They got a shinier coat of fur as well. The manager seemed happier as well. It was almost like a fantasy world, where everything went the way it was supposed to. Everything was right. The kids loved to watch Goldy and Benny perform. It was, "One of the coolest shows ever." Goldy and Benny loved hearing the complements, especially from the children. They were loved by everyone that entered the building.

One day, Goldy was in the backroom, searching for a ball that he and Benny had lost while they were playing with the kids. That's when it happened. The gold bear was knocked out from behind. His vision blurred as he attempted to look upon the face of his attacker. All he could identify him with, was a purple shirt and a gold badge. When he finally came to, everything was different. He awoke in a kitchen cabinet, sitting in a slouched position. He shifted slightly, trying to free himself. When he did, he walked out into the show stage to see a dimly lit room. It was raining heavily outside. Then he noticed something. He didn't feel right. He looked over himself and saw this dark red liquid all over his body. Accompanied by this liquid, he felt this new sensation. It was different from the others. It didn't tickle and it wasn't funny. It... hurt. The feeling he had... it was... pain. He didn't like it. It hurt. Really bad. It was everywhere, it hurt worst in his head, neck, and core. What also made him feel bad was the squish sound that emitted from him everytime he moved a ligament. More of that strange red liquid would ooze out as well. What was even worse, he couldn't find Benny. He didn't know where he was. He searched the restaurant rapidly and frantically, looking for his golden bunny friend. When he came to the backroom, he found Benny sitting in a slouched position. He had been damaged heavily. He ran to the bunny's side, calling his name. After earning no response, the gold bear became more worried. Benny's suit began to twitch violently, scaring the gold bear. There was the sound of a machine attempting kick start itself. Trying to function properly. Goldy kept a small distance from himself and Benny. As the bunny shook around, Goldy had noticed something about his surroundings. There was no one there. No humans. Everything looked awful, everything was in horrible condition. Almost as if the building had been left to rot. Benny's suit had ceased its twitching. Goldy sobbed softly and hugged his friends deactivated suit. He fell asleep, lying there.

When he awoke again, he was no longer near Benny. Apparently, he wasn't even inside the restaurant. His eyes dropped tiredly as he moaned and shifted from his position. He looked around in his surroundings, he discovered that he was in a truck. He looked up and saw a small glass window. He stood up slightly to look through it. When he did, he saw the big letters of the restaurant, "Fredbear's Diner." He was awestruck. What was going on? Why was he outside? How long was he out? And most importantly, where was Benny? He panicked a bit, throwing himself from the window. He felt the truck ignition start. He looked at the window again, and watched the letters of the restaurant fade out of view. Where he was going, he didn't know. But what he wanted to make sure of, was that he wasn't alone.

Goldy stared at the ground with a blank expression, but with tears in his eyes. Goldy slowly stood up, wiping the tears from his face. He looked at the door ahead of him, opening it, and walking out. When he arrived in the dining room, Thomas was reattaching Chica's arms.

"H-hey! Goldy!" Wan said, his voice joyous to see his friend. Goldy replied with a shy wave.

"Where's Benny?" Goldy asked.

"I knew that would be your first question." Thomas sighed. "In response, buddy, I'd like you to meet, your old pal." On cue, Benny walked out from behind a corner. Goldy's eyes widened as he saw his friend walk toward him. He was no longer in that decrepit condition. The patches of fur had been replaced, as well as the torn and protruding wires. The worn creepy grin was no longer on his face. He was in the condition he was when Goldy and Benny were together at Fredbear's Family Diner.

"B-Benny?" Goldy stuttered.

"Hey, Fredbear." Benny replied. "Long time no see."

"Y-y-yeah, di-did... Thomas do that... for you?" Goldy asked in disbelief. Benny smirked a bit and nodded. Thomas had a proud grin present on his face. Benny took a few more steps closer to the gold bear, reaching out for him. Goldy stepped back, but it hurt him. Something inside his was paining him, the further away he was from Benny and the others. He needed them. He loved them. He couldn't be alone anymore. He wanted them to be by his side and him by their side. Goldy retracted his foot and stepped forward as well. Benny sniffled softly as he held out both of his hands. Goldy did the same, pulling the gold bunny into a hug. The two rested their heads on each others shoulders, crying very softly.

"I'm... I'm so sorry, Benny." Goldy muttered.

"What are you sorry for, Fredbear? You never did anything." Benny said. Goldy shook his head and held Benny tighter and closer.

"I left you. Again... I'm so so sorry." Goldy sobbed. Benny sniffled again, pulling away a bit.

"Fredbear, you never left me. You've always been there, even when it wasn't physical. You were always there in my mind and my heart." Benny told the gold bear. "You and I are inseparable, and that's the way it's always gonna be. You're my best friend in the whole wide world, and you're even closer than a brother. I love having you near me, because I feel complete. If there is anything higher than brotherly love, ours would be it." Goldy laughed through his tears and nodded.

"I love you too, Benny." He returned. Benny smiled and hugged Goldy again.

"Well, ain't that just adorable?" Thomas interrupted in a full on country accent.

"Why are you-"

"Shush, senpai!" Thomas interjected Mike.

"S-senpai?" Mike repeated in shock.

"Anyway, I think things will move along much smoother now that Goldy is out of his funk and we have another animatronic to add to the family." Thomas said.

"I agree one hundred percent!" Teddy added.

"Where's Freddy?" Goldy asked.

"By the show stage." Rick answered. Goldy marched to the show stage, eyes back to their dull state. He saw the brown bear, sitting with his head down.

"F-Freddy?" Goldy called softly. Freddy's ears twitched, but he didn't move.

"Yes, Goldy?" Freddy replied, his voice was extremely quiet.

"A-are you okay?" Goldy asked.

"My emotions are insignificant as of now. What matters is, are you alright?" Freddy returned.

"I'm... I'm better now. I wanted to thank you for your support... even though I was trying my best to reject it." Goldy sighed. Freddy looked at his brother, not raising his head.

"I'm always going to be there to support you. You should know that." The brown bear said.

"Y-yeah b-but, you kept... you kept trying, even after I was pushing you away." Goldy muttered, recoiling a bit from shame. Freddy hopped off the stage to face Goldy.

"That's what family does. No matter what happens, we will always be by each other's side." Freddy told the gold bear. "Take Benny, for instance. You two have a very long past together, and even after the thirty years you've been apart, Benny welcomed you with open arms." Goldy looked down. "Not everything that goes wrong is your fault, you know. I had to learn that myself. Obviously, you two splitting up was inevitable. And for you to rejoin each others company, that's just extra. You're lucky, actually." Goldy sniffled and nodded. "There is one simple emotion that is truly the strongest of them all. I know it sounds cliche, so don't bug me readers, but, love is all we really need. Because with it, as a family, we can overcome any quandary we encounter." Goldy smirked slightly. "And the more of us there are, the stronger our love will become." The gold bear threw his arms around his brown brother, hugging him tightly.

"Thank you, Freddy." He sobbed softly.

"Thank you, Goldy." Freddy returned, a few tears in his eyes as well. "We're still brothers, right?"

"Of course." Goldy giggled softly. Freddy smiled largely.

"Yay! We all made up!" Rick exclaimed.

"That we did, what now?" Wan deadpanned.

"Well, we can't really do anything since Thomas is taking his sweet time to repair us." Chica said.

"Says the one who just got her arms back!" Thomas countered. "Stop rushing perfection!"

That's egotistical." Tg said.

"Says the most egotistical one here! Beside Bonnie and Wan." Thomas retorted matter of factly.

"Hey! Don't insult me! That's dishonorable!" Wan shouted.

"Since when did you care about that? As much as you insult others?" Freddy asked.

"I always cared. Most people think I don't care about anything. They think I'm some monotone and emotionless freak who does nothing but insult others and is heartless as all get out." Wan said without breathing in his sentence.

"Wow, that perfectly describes my first impression of you." Teddy said in astonishment.

"See? My point is proven." Wan said with his fists on his hips. Although anger was clear in his voice.

Riomei walked up to Teddy and patted his shoulder, "Believe it or not, he's really sensitive about his emotions."

"Ah, understood." Teddy said with a nod. He looked over at his brother, "Gregory, why are your ears so red?"

"H-h-huh? Wh-what? M-my ears?" Tg replied, placing his hands on his own ears. They were their original light gold color, but red at the tips. Bonnie, who has been surprisingly silent, finally spoke up.

"Ooohh! I s-s-s-se-se-see what's-se-see-wh-see-what-se-going on! G-got my sentence out..." Bonnie shouted, murmuring the last part.

"Wait, before we do anything else, lemme see if I can fix that voice box." Thomas said.

"P-p-pl-ple-p-please!" Bonnie pleaded, "I ca-c-ca-ca-can live w-w-w-w-liv-without my-fa-fa-face for a l-l-li-li-little while-li-little while longer." Thomas shook his head at Bonnie's rapid stuttering, it was painful just to listen to it. The teen laid the purple bunny down and began working on the vocal systems that were clearly visible, thanks to the fact that he was missing his face. After about fifteen minutes of silence, Thomas backed away from the purple rabbit.

"There, that should reduce the stuttering exponentially." The teen said.

"Try talking." Blu suggested.

Bonnie took a static-filled deep breath before he spoke, "Okay, what I was trying to-t-to say ways that, Tg!"

"Wh-wh-what?" Tg replied, a bit startled from the sudden yell.

"I got you! You have something you're hiding! You-y-your face is all red and so are your e-e-ea-ears!" Bonnie pointed out. "You are either really embarrassed... or you're cr-cr-cr-c-crushin' on someone." Tg took a step back as he emitted an awkward and nervous moan.

"Gregory?" Teddy called softly.

"No!" Tg replied swiftly, his face turning a brighter red.

"Bruh! Who you be crushin' on!?" Wan asked with curiosity and anticipation.

"Bruh, fix your grammar." Riomei sneered.

"Tg, what's up?" Blu asked him.

"Are you embarrassed about something?" Chica inquired. Roxy tilted her head slightly in curiosity.

"Uh... I er, I'm... u-um." Tg stammered, unable to say anything. Riomei took a step forward, which Tg responded by taking a step back. This confused Riomei thoroughly.

"Are you okay?" She asked him. Tg frowned heavily, his face still bright red, as well as his ears. Riomei took another step forward, and Tg stood still. He was trembling slightly from where he stood, however.

Bonnie snapped his fingers, "I got it!"

"What?" Freddy asked his purple friend.

"It's Riomei! Tg has a crush on Riomei!" Bonnie exclaimed as if he had cracked the word's toughest investigation case. Everyone looked over at Tg, who's face was now an even brighter red, if that was possible. A few smoke streams aired out of Tg's head.

"G-Gregory? Y-you're overheating." Teddy said. Tg whined softly covering his face. Riomei took the chance to walk toward him, but silently. Tg stood there, covering his face as little streams of smoke leaked out of the back of his head. When he looked through his hands, his eyes met with bright brown ones. Riomei's. He squeaked at a high pitch. Riomei could help but giggle. Plonk blinked a couple of times, watching carefully.

"Do you have a crush on me?" Riomei asked sweetly. Tg's ears fell beside his head, he stared straight into Riomei's eyes and nodded. Riomei smiled and placed a hand on his cheek, which was warm to the touch.

"Gosh, you were overheating." She chuckled. "You like me, hmmm. Oh boy, why me?" The brown raccoon turned to face Plonk. "Why freakin' me?"

"See! I told you! You should have just waited, Riomei!" Wan cried.

"Shut up, Wan! I don't need that!" Riomei snapped. She sighed deeply and walked toward Plonk. "Um, Plonk?"

"Yeah?" The orange kangaroo replied.

"Uh, y-you know, er..."

"Riomei, it's okay. We weren't really going anywhere with our relationship, anyway. I'm sorry I couldn't be there and I wasn't good enough for you." Plonk said, dropping his head dejectedly.

Riomei kissed Plonk on the cheek, "I'm sorry too." Plonk smiled and kissed Riomei's hand.

"Bonnie, you're screwing up relationships." Chira grumbled.

"No I'm not! I'm tr-tr-trying to help!" Bonnie countered. Tg stood there, his face still bright red. Riomei walked back over to him.

She sighed before she spoke, "I know... that was wrong. For me. A-and I know Plonk was... growing a little stagnate over our relationship too, b-but... I don't know what to say." Tg looked at Plonk, who didn't seem very distraught at all, he seemed hurt nonetheless.

"A-are you saying... y-you're gonna... g-give m-m-me a chance?" Tg asked. Riomei simply nodded, she felt awful, however. "Oh... I er, I am... I'll be the best that I can be. I promise... I'll always be th-there. I-I-I promise." Riomei nodded again, looking back at Plonk. He smiled at her, and motioned for her to turn back around. He mouthed, "I'm fine. You deserve better," with a shrug. Riomei looked back at Tg, who was staring at her with an innocent and caring expression. The brown raccoon began to smile as she stared back. The blush on Tg's face diminished slightly as he took her hand. Riomei inhaled and exhaled slowly and hugged Tg. The red-cheeked gold bear flinched a bit, but kept his stance and hugged her back.

"Okay you guys, you can spend time together later." Thomas said.

"For now we-" Freddy stopped when a very loud crash of thunder sounded. "Hm, I forgot it was raining." The lights above them flickered before they went off completely. Everyone groaned in annoyance, almost in perfect sync.

"Come on! Seriously!? We were fine!" Bonnie whined.

"Qui' yer whinin' lad! It ain' tha' bad." Foxy sneered.

"Try saying that without a face and it's hard enough to see as it is!" Bonnie retorted.

"Well, I'm gla' I ain't ye." Foxy chortled. "It woul' suck ta be ye anyway."

"What did you say!?" Bonnie screeched, filled with heavy static.

"Stop yelling. Bonnie, you're only putting strain on your already damaged vocal systems. And Foxy, stop antagonizing." Freddy said. Foxy puffed air out in one cheek, folding his arms.

"Sure, wha'ever." He muttered.

"Where did Goldy go?" Chica asked.

"He's probably hiding behind Freddy." Blu said. Freddy looked behind himself, and sure enough, his golden brother was sitting there covering his ears, shaking in fear. Freddy helped Goldy to his feet.

"Come on, brother. I know you're much tougher than that." He said encouragingly. "Don't let a little thunder scare you." Goldy's teeth chattered as he nodded slowly. Another crash, just as loud as the previous sounded. Goldy winced and hugged Freddy tightly.

"It's so loud... and scary..." Goldy whimpered.

"Okay, we need to get the lights back on. At this rate, Thomas won't be able to complete our repairs and the restaurant won't open tomorrow." Teddy said.

"They're isn't really a way to get the light back on. We have to wait until the power company can get them back on." Thomas said.

"Aww, *censored* man!" Tg complained. Riomei glanced at him then at the night gaurds.

"Well, we have flashlights." Riomei said, pointing to Mike, Rick, and Shya. "Three of them."

"Oh you're right." Mike replied, pulling out said tool. Rick and Shya did the same. "Thomas, how quickly can repair an animatronic face? Or an eye, ears, and other damages?"

"Fast enough to have at least one flashlight left over." Thomas answered.

"Then get to work, bro!" Rick said.

"Right away!" Thomas saluted as he went he took Mike's flashlight and headed to the Parts and Service room. As the young technician did his job, the other humans watched over the animatronics. After the lights going out, things had grown quiet. Even the hollow and whispering wind was audible in the pizzeria.

"Man, is our lives turning into some type of horror game?" Rick spoke to no one in particular. "I mean, we got the perfect weather, the wind outside sounds creepy as heck, the lights are off, what are we missing?"

"A phantom or a ghost?" Mike suggested.

"Yeah, or a dead entity trying to take back what is rightfully theirs! Muhahahahaha!" Shya laughed maniacally.

"Yeah, you would fit that role." Rick chortled.

"Shut up!" Shya snapped rather swiftly. "Although you're right, this place seems to get more eerie as the days go by."

"Yeah, do you think it's tha animatronics?" Mike asked.

"Dunno. But it's something here that is making this place feel like some sort of haunted house." Shya said, looking around the room with a curious yet interested expression.

"Are you calling our home a haunted house?" Teddy asked, taking offense.

"No." Shya lied flatly and quickly.

"You know, lying will get you nowhere fast." Teddy said.

"And where are you headed after this, hm? The scrap yard?" Shya retorted calmly.

"Dude, that was harsh." Tg muttered.

"Well he insulted me by calling me a liar. I simply returned the gesture. Don't dish out, what you can't take." Shya replied boastfully.

Teddy rolled his eyes and sighed, "The older children get, the more annoying and obnoxious they become."

"I hear you. Your voice is deep, so it carries." Shya said, bouncing slightly in her chair. Teddy groaned in annoyance. Bonnie looked at Freddy, who was standing quite stiff. He seemed to be staring at something.

"Freddy? What are y-y-yo-you doing?" Bonnie called quietly. Freddy emitted a soft growl as he pointed down the hallway. This caught everyone's attention. They all looked down the hallway to see two familiar figures.

"The shadows." Chira muttered.

"Why are they here!?" Roxy said, panicking slightly.

"Calm down, Roxy. Lets take this with precaution." Teddy told her, looking back at the shadow bunny and bear. What could they want?
