Daddy's Little Princess

Comfort

"Ouch." Harry rubbed the back of his head and blinked at Ginny. "What was that for?"

She rolled her eyes, grabbed his hand and tugged on it, to get him to move back to the castle.

They walked silently side by side till they reached the quarters of her family. She leaned with her back against the door and looked at him, he looked like he wanted to say something but Ginny beat him to it.

"Rose told me you shouted at your mum."

He gave a sigh and looked at the floor, shuffling his feet, he nodded.

"I shouldn't have done that, she just wanted to help." He mumbled still looking at his feet.

She stepped closer and wrapped her arms around him. "You will apologize."

"Of course I will!" He answered hotly. "Sorry." He took a breath and tucked a loose curl behind her ear. "I should go, maybe Remus is still awake, I- you know, maybe talking to him..."

"Oh he is awake, your Godfather went to see if you were there. So he knows you were missing."

He cursed under his breath, mumbled a goodnight and took off down the corridor.

He was nearly at the corner when she realised what he was doing and called his name.

Harry turned around and looked at her. "You forgot to say Goodnight."

"I did."

"No you didn't." She put her hands at her hips. "Where is my Goodnight kiss, I always get one, even before we were, you know." She was thankful that it was dark in the corridor, because she could feel the rising blush.

"I wasn't sure..." He trailed off, but than he quickly made his way back over to her and delivered the goodnight she wanted.

Her family quarters were darkened and quiet, so she went into her room and checked on Gwen who was asleep, she quickly changed into her nightclothes and slipped into bed, sleep didn't come easy, so she was pretty tired when her daughter woke her up early the next day.

July 9th

Her mother gave her the silent treatment all throughout breakfast, but once Gwen was busy playing Molly approached her daughter and told her off for leaving the way she did, Ginny apologized but she knew that she did the right thing in going after Harry, but her mother was right, she could have handled it better.

The Daily Prophet was full with the story of the attack in Diagon Alley, but as no one was with Harry and Greyback in the shop, the Prophet could only speculate about what had happened, but as Ginny walked with Gwen through the corridors of the old castle, it was very obvious that the magical community was overjoyed at the fact that the feral werewolf was finally dead.

She let Gwen knock on the door and it didn't take long for someone to open it.

James gave her a wide smile and she bid him a good morning.

Gwen let go of her hand and hugged his legs. "Morning." She chirped happily.

James winked at her and ruffled her hair, she squeaked and ran off.

"We have just finished breakfast, come on through." He closed the door behind her and made his way to the kitchen.

Lily noticed her first and immediately came over to her and engulfed her in a hug. "Thank you." She said and squeezed her tightly. She continued in a normal voice once she let go. "You really didn't have to knock, you're family."

"Oh." Ginny breathed and could feel the colour rising in her cheeks, she didn't know what to say to that.

"Where is Daddy?" Gwen asked sitting on Sirius lap and munching on a piece of leftover bacon, he had given her.

"He is helping Rose wash up, she made a mess with the pancakes, sweetie, he'll be back soon."

"Can I help you with anything?" She asked Lily, but she just shook her head and pointed her wand at the dirty dishes. "No, darling, just take a seat and have a cup of tea."

She did as told and plopped herself down next to Sirius, who gave her his typical wide smile.

She reached for the tea pot and watched Lily and James tidying up the kitchen.

When Harry entered the kitchen, Gwen immediately jumped down from Sirius lap and ran towards her favourite person.

His eyes widened in surprise at seeing them, but he caught her easily and picked her up for a cuddle.

"Hey, Princess, I missed you." He told her with a sincere voice that unsettled Ginny a bit, but her daughter just smiled brightly and gave him a sloppy kiss.

"Oh, do you smell like bacon?" He asked her and pretented to sniff her. She giggled into her hands and squirmed in his arms when he began "chomping on" her. He put her down and walked over.

"Morning." He mumbled and looked at her with unsure eyes. Ginny sighed and rolled her eyes at him. She stood up and kissed him good morning. He smiled sheepishly back at her and mumbled something that sounded like 'wasn't sure...could have changed...not wanted' so she punched his side slightly. He sat down and she sat down on his lap and ran her hand through his unruly hair.

"I hope you went straight home last night." She told him, taking a sip of her tea.

He nodded. "I apologized, like I promised you and then I talked with Remus, that helped a lot."

She smiled at him. "Good, cause you where beeing very stupid last night."

Sirius chuckled and Gwen began giggling. "Have you read the Prophet?" Harry shook his head. "They wrote about ten pages on the attack, complete with all the crimes Greyback has done over the years."

"I am very happy he snuffed it finally." Sirius said when he got up and put his mug in the sink.

"If I had had the chance, I would have done the same. He was the one who bit Remus, you know." He added for Ginny's benefit and left the kitchen.

"The Prophet thinks it was self-defence, Harry, so no one knows what really happened."

He sighed in relief. "Dad said he would have done the same, too. Remus as well, but I don't know if that is true, cause they never did do it. I did, I should regret it, shouldn't I?" She kissed him on the cheek and looked at his tired eyes. "You didn't sleep tonight, did you?"

"Couldn't, I dreamed about him and that woke me up all the time, so I stopped trying and went for a very long morning run."

She finished her tea and lead him to his bedroom.

He raised an eyebrow and smiled at her. "Am I about to get lucky?"

She put her hands on her hip and glared at him and he raised his hands in surrender. "Gwen!" she called loudly and her little girl came running. "Harry needs a cuddle and a nap, come on sweetie." Gwen raised her arms and Ginny lifted her on the bed and took her shoes off, then she sat down and opened her own footwear. "Don't just stand there, Harry, get in bed."

He huffed. "What is that going to do?" He removed his boots and layed down. "You need rest. Now close your eyes and sleep."

"Yes, ma'am." She slapped his chest and got her self comfy on his left side, Gwen was snuggled against his right side. "Night, night, Daddy."
