The Amazons Arc
A/N: Darkness begins to shadow the lands of the Amazons. Luckily, Goku and Ichigo heal from their small injuries, allowing them to rejoin the fight. As Kenichi and Maximus make their move, can the knights stop them? Will they be able to help the Amazons without the Amazons attacking them? What will be the first step for each side? Find out in 'Chapter 38: Gathering the Pieces.'

Chapter 38: Gathering the Pieces
Goku rotates his right arm. He smirks as all the pain is gone from his injury. He looks towards his right as he watches Ichigo massage the back of his neck. He stands up, walking towards Ichigo while clenching his hands together.
"You ready?" asked Goku.
"Of course," replied Ichigo. "I think we've spent enough time here."
Xoepyle walks into the room carrying two cups of water. She notices the two knights standing and ready to move. She approaches them, placing the water cups on a nearby table. They nod towards her as she nods back.
"I see you two are ready," said Xoepyle. "I'm surprised your armor survived the impact. That's Imperial technology for you. I'm assuming you're leaving."
"Yeah," said Goku. "We need to find the others."
"Do you have a ship for us to use?" asked Ichigo.
"You're asking for too much," said Xoepyle. "I might be the princess of this kingdom, but my mother holds the true power."
Before anyone else speaks, explosions occur outside the room. Immediately, Xoepyle turns around and draws out her sword. She rushes out the door followed by Goku and Ichigo. Fire covers the outside forest. Lava erupts around them as Osylyte lands on the ground, hard.
"My lady," said Osylyte as she stands up slowly. "I've found intruders and made attempts to destroy them, but are stronger than I thought."
Suddenly, Tonis and Helena appear before the group, in their battle stances. They begin to gather energy into the palm of their hands, aiming at the two Amazons.
"Tonis!" shouted Goku causing Tonis to stare at him.
"Goku, you're alive!" exclaimed Tonis. "Good, now let's kill these people!"
"Wait! Hold up! No killing!" yelled Goku as he jumps and lands between the guards and Amazons. "Nobody is an enemy here."
Tonis narrows his eyes as he takes a step forward. He looks at the Amazons, trying to make sure they would not dare make another move. However, he keeps his guard up the moment Osylyte takes a step forward. Osylyte raises her sword, clenching the handle to the point the knuckles on her hands turn a bit white. Energy begins to gather around her as she takes another step, causing Tonis to clench his hands.
"Calm down!" shouted Xoepyle. "Osylyte, put your weapons down."
"But princess…," said Osylyte, retaining her stance.
"Now," said Xoepyle, sternly.
The Amazon warrior lowers her weapon as Tonis and Helena lower their fist. Both sides begin to grumble in annoyance, but they decide to heed the words of their respective commanders.
A few seconds later, Leopold, Rolando, Horace, Momoka, Anna, and Tecumseh appear as the lava begins to decrease in intensity. Ichigo looks towards Horace and tries to hold in his laugh. Horace has a few twigs sticking out his armor with a leaf on his head.
"What?" asked Horace. "I didn't see her."
"Yeah sure," replied Ichigo.
"Tonis, where have you guys been?" asked Goku.
"Um, not sure," said Tonis. "We woke up separately with a few injuries, but we managed to work our way together using our sensing abilities. We couldn't find you two, but a recent spike in energy alerted us to your position."
A few seconds later, Goku and Tonis exchange information. Tonis explains to the knights waking up in the middle of the jungle, trying to figure out their location, and avoiding any residents on the planet. Once finish, they turn their attention to the three Amazons.
"We need to find our allies," said Ichigo.
"I can give you a map," said Xoepyle. "But you must use your communicators sparsely. Our kingdom might not have the most advanced technology, but we can still hold well."
Suddenly, the communicator on Tonis' left hand begins to ring, causing Xoepyle to sigh. Her people would be able to track the signal.
"T…nis…o…is…Ton…is," said a voice on the communicator.
"This is Tonis, repeat this is Tonis," replied said man.
"To…nis…" said the voice. "T…is…is…Ec…rt…"
"Who is it?" asked Tonis.
"Eck…art," said the voice.
"Eckart, can you hear me," said Tonis.
"Bar…ely," said Eckart. "Yo…posi…tion."
"We don't know," said Tonis.
"Ho…pos…," continued Eckart before the communication went dead.
The guards sigh in frustration, but regain their composure shortly after.
"I guess we get going," said Ichigo. "Eventually, we'll find Noboru and the Honda forces."
The rest agree, but Xoepyle steps in their way.
"You can't just walk around," said Xoepyle. "The Amazons will attack you on sight."
"Then we have to be careful," replied Ichigo.
"Fine," said Xoepyle. "We will head home. You need to make sure none of the Amazons find you."
A sudden growl causes everyone to stop in his or her track. Before anyone can react, a creature jumps out of the shadows, striking Helena to the ground. Immediately, Tonis grabs the creature and tosses it away from his wife.
"A shadow tiger," said Ichigo as he steps forward.
The tiger charges forward, but Leopold intervenes, taking the monster down with a single thrust of his spear.
"A shadow monster," said Xoepyle. "I haven't seen one since the last Dimensional War."
Xoepyle knew the enemy has reached the planet. She was right. Xoepyle turns her attention to Goku and Ichigo and begins to explain the situation of her mother's decision.
"She will not act even if the Shadow Alliance attacks," said Xoepyle.
"This will be your kingdom's undoing," said Goku.
"I know," said Xoepyle. "I intend to do something about it. You should reunite with your allies and…"
"No," said Goku. "Bring us to your mother."
Xoepyle raises her eyebrow, wondering if this man is insane. Goku simply stares back at her, serious in all matters. He knows he must act. He must convince the queen the need to ally herself with the Imperial Alliance. Goku and Xoepyle stare into each other's eyes, neither moving a muscle. Soon, Xoepyle sighs as she turns around.
"Fine, but she will be hostile," said Xoepyle.
"Princess," said Glyisbe.
"Enough," said Xoepyle. "I will take this responsibility."
Goku and Ichigo nod to each other and begin to follow Xoepyle. Osylyte stares in concern, but she does not say anything else, following the group with the Elite Guards nearby.
Rolando walks up to Goku, stopping next to the saiyan. Goku turns his attention to Rolando. He asks if something is wrong, as Rolando tries to put the correct words together.
"I know you like to trust people, but you must remember to remain cautious," said Rolando. "You never know when the enemy is the person next to you."
"Nah, I'll be fine," said Goku. "I've been in tough situations before."
Rolando sighs, but remains quiet. Goku is a very powerful person. Most of the knights cannot even come close to his power. Ichigo can give Goku a challenge, but the odds of him winning are slim. Travis is the only one who can give Goku a beating, though victory could go either way. He remembers a time when he thought he could trust anyone. Only a few people can be trusted.
At one time, Rolando was a member of the Marcial crime family, reigning alongside his father and mother. Rolando was a rising star, showing power and intelligence over numerous enemies. However, his father was not too happy about his methods of displaying strength. Rolando did not kill anyone who disobeyed them. Sure, he would torture them, but he would not go further, claiming that it would be bad for business. His life would change, the moment he met a beautiful woman.
"Excuse me!" exclaimed Rolando as he knocked a woman off her feet. He turned around to berate her, but he stopped the moment his eyes connected with hers. The woman below him has bright red hair, her blue eyes shining brightly, and a small, but shaped body.
Immediately, the woman stood back up, her head barely reaching Rolando's chest. She placed her finger into his chest, applying a good amount of pressure.
"Now listen here!" shouted the woman. "You bumped into me, so you should be apologizing!"
"Um, well," stuttered Rolando as the woman narrowed her eyes.
"Well, speak fool!" exclaimed the woman.
"Sorry, I'm Rolando," replied the stunned man.
"Whatever," said the woman as she turned around and left.
"Hey!" shouted Rolando. "I told you my name! What's yours?"
The woman turned around, glaring at Rolando before turning back again and walking off. Rolando took a deep breath before turning around to leave.
"Ofelia Vina!" exclaimed a voice.
Rolando turned around, just catching the redhead woman turning the corner.
"Wait?" inquired Rolando. "Did she just say Vina?"
Rolando laughs sadly. He fell in love with the daughter of the second most powerful crime family. Of course, he did not know that at the time, but he would find out sooner than he thought. Rolando sighs as she looks at Goku. Rolando trusted a few people in his past that he should not have. He will not allow Goku to make the same mistake.
"Hey Rolando, come on!" shouted Goku as Rolando starts to run after the group.

Eicleia rides on her horse with a large army behind her. The Amazons search the area for any enemies, but there are no signs of anyone.
"Mother, should you really be here?" asked Geises, riding alongside her mother.
"I must deal with this," replied Eicleia. "If anyone dares attack us, then we will strike them down!"
Isitane and Phiseybe begin to catch up, riding up to the royal family.
"My queen, there is a chance that Xoepyle is under fire or worse," said Sekgone.
Eicleia glares at Phiseybe, narrowing her eyes. Phiseybe lowers her head, but keeps her focus.
"I mean nothing by it," said Phiseybe.
"No matter the differences between us," said Eicleia. "My daughter and I are family. I know all of you are thinking it, but she will always fight for the people."
Phiseybe rides up to Eicleia, nodding her head to the queen.
"I know she has been acting weird, but she would never betray us," said Eicleia. "Phiseybe, you've been my oldest friend. Tell me you see another angle at this."
"My queen, we can only hope for the best," said Phiseybe. "For now, we check out Xoepyle's location.
Eicleia clenches her teeth looking towards the bright sky. Has she failed her daughter? For a long time, Xoepyle has shown suspicious activities, but she cannot lose trust.

Maximus stands on the top of the cliff, a small smirk on his face. He overlooks the Amazon army below him as they move westward. He turns his attention to Kenichi, who steps next to him.
"It is time," said Kenichi.
"Yes," replied Maximus. "Soon, we begin our attack. First we destroy the Amazon's elite force."
