Hey guys, so this is only PART ONE of the last chapter. The second part will be released soon. I was going to put out one super long chapter, but it got to be even longer than I expected so I decided it might be better to separate it. Hope you enjoy! Tell me if you want to see anything in part two, and I may add it. - ScruffyPalace
"Okay Mia, this is your new home," Felicity said as she walked through the front door. She set the carrier down on the table and unbuckled her slowly. She was still tiny, even for two months, so Felicity was much more delicate with her than Owen. She held her against her chest as she walked into the living room and sat down on the couch with Oliver, who was holding Owen in a similar way.
"Look, it's Owen. I bet you've missed him, huh? Well you don't have to worry about being away from any of us anymore. You're home now, baby girl," Felicity whispered as she rubbed circles around the baby's back. They didn't tell William about Mia coming home, because they wanted it to be a surprise.
A while later they heard the door open and Donna yell, "We're home." After Donna moved in, she spent a lot of time with William. She took him to the library to study and then would take him out to eat if Oliver and Felicity were swamped at home and the hospital. Once William got some alone time and sleep, he was a much happier big brother. He loved to sign to Owen and even moved his tiny hands to try and teach him how to sign back.
William ran into the living room like he did every day after school and went right to Owen. 'Hey Buddy', he signed, then tickled his back. Oliver and Felicity both laughed as he didn't notice his sister.
"Hey, don't make Mia feel left out," Felicity joked. William scrunched his eyebrows before he saw her.
"She's home?" he asked excitedly. "For good?"
"For good, hopefully," Oliver said, his smile equally as big.
"Can I hold her?" he asked with wide eyes.
"You know the rules, shower first," Donna said as she came up behind him. His shoulder's slumped, but he nodded as he ran up the stairs.
Less than a minute later, Owen's face scrunched up and he let out a loud wail. Mia, who was almost asleep, suddenly opened her eyes to the noise and did the same.
"And so it begins," Oliver said with a panicked laugh.
"Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dear Mia and Owen, happy birthday to you," everyone sang while signing. Mia clapped along while Owen kept signing 'Yay' at all the people dancing around him. When they were done, they brought the two mini cakes with a candle on each to the twins. Even though they were born a month apart, Oliver and Felicity decided one party would be good for at least the first few years.
Once they blew out the candles, well, once William blew out the candles for both of them, it was time to eat. Owen slowly grabbed a small piece and put it in his mouth while Mia leaned down and shoved her face in. They both had large smiles on their faces as they gobbled up the cake as quickly as their little mouths could take it. Once they were finished Felicity grabbed the half-eaten cakes while Oliver grabbed the toddlers out of their highchairs.
He carried them into the living room and the rest of the small party followed. Roy was holding his and Thea's daughter, Hailey Grace Harper, who was sleeping in his arms. Thea had a healthy pregnancy and an easy birth. At one point around eight months pregnant, Thea was complaining about how much her back hurt and how she couldn't wait for the pregnancy to be over. Felicity blew up at her, more from lack of sleep than actual anger, and things were pretty tense for a while afterwards. Luckily, after a breakdown a week later, everything was back to normal.
Oliver sat the twins on the floor in front of him and grabbed for the presents. He helped the twins grip the paper and pull back to see their gifts. Felicity was confused when, out of the corner of her eye, she noticed Lance and her mother getting a little too close on the couch. Oliver was too engrossed in his kids' presents though and making sure Owen kept his hearing aids on.
After Owen had been out of the hospital for a while, they fitted him for hearing aids that he would wear until he was a year old, and then Oliver and Felicity decided they would get him cochlear implants. They still learned sign language and taught both twins a few signs as well. Mia could sign mom, dad, milk, water and eat, and could also say mama and dada. Owen could sign the same words plus yay and dog. Even little Hailey knew the sign for dad.
Owen, Mia and Hailey spent a lot of their time together since Oliver became a stay at home dad and watched Hailey while her parents worked. Owen was very adventurous and liked to climb on everything and Hailey was always quick to follow. Mia on the other hand was quiet and liked to play with her board books. Her skin was the same tone as Oliver's and hair that was the same color and had grown long enough to go past her ears to her neck. She still had Felicity's blue eyes and love of learning. Owen was the complete opposite with Felicity's hair and skin tone, but Oliver's eyes. His hair was even longer going all the way to his shirt. Hailey had tiffs of dark brown hair and light brown eyes.
Oliver picked out a big box from the pile of gifts and handed it to Felicity to open.
"That's from me," Donna said with a large smile. Felicity's smile wavered as she opened up the gift, hoping it was age appropriate and not something they would have to wait four or so years to use.
She guided Mia's hand in unwrapping the Christmas themed paper and was surprised when she saw the bag of Lego Duplo's.
"Wow, thanks mom. They will love these."
Donna grinned proudly. "Well, I was going to get them the regular sized ones, but then Quinny told me that they had these big ones for the little ones, and I had to get a whole bunch. They were just so cute."
Felicity looked over at Oliver, who mouthed 'Quinny?' Felicity gave him a shrug before helping Mia open the bag.
18 Months
18 months. That's the age. That's the age the doctors told them Mia should be walking by. If she wasn't walking by 18 months corrected age, then she should get some additional help from therapists. Oliver and Felicity had no problem with therapists, but they didn't want their daughter to be behind. She had been through so much, including getting glasses a few months prior after multiple collisions with doors. They just wanted her to be on track, so they didn't have to worry so much. Everyday Oliver spent special time lifting her up and leading her around the room, trying to let go slowly and have her walk to him, but every time she immediately plopped on her butt and crawled away.
It wasn't hard when Owen started walking first, since he was always a little ahead physically, but when Hailey started walking only two months later, they started to get worried. What if she had underdevelopment that kept her from being able to do it on her own? What if she would need some surgery? They had just gone through surgery with Owen, and though it was only a minor one, it was still terrifying to see their one-year old son in the hospital again.
When William would come home from school he would rush in the room with hopeful eyes and ask if there were any updates. His hope demised every time he got a shake of the head from Oliver. They only had seventeen hours left until their eighteen-month appointment and they were going to work as long as Mia would allow them too.
They watched video after video on YouTube for certain tricks. They tired bribing her with a cookie. They would try to trick her and think she was still holding on to their hand, but she wasn't having any of that. She just sat content on her butt and giggle at her parents exasperated looks.
One night they all sat in a triangle with Mia standing in the middle. "Come on honey. If you come to Mommy, I will give you forty billion goodnight kisses," Felicity said as she made the kissing noise in one corner.
Oliver held up her favorite stuffed animal and shook it at her. "Look, it's mister Fofo. Come over here and play with mister Fofo." Mia looked between them, back and forth as though she was choosing, before plopping down on her but and grabbing her footie covered toes.
"Fofo," she said as she reached for the blue and white striped giraffe. Oliver didn't give it to her at first, but then her big blue eyes welled with tears, and he couldn't keep it away any longer.
He crawled over to her and said, "Here you go."
She held it tightly in her arms with a large grin. "Fofo. Lo Fofo."
Felicity walked over and leaned against Oliver with a sigh. "Well, that's all I got. What about you?" she asked.
Oliver shook his head. "I'm all out of ideas. We've been working on this for seven months. If she hasn't done it by now, I don't think she'll do it tonight."
"Okay," Felicity said as she got up and walked towards Mia, "I'll go put her down then."
"WAIT," William screamed as he ran in with a stack of board books, "I've got an idea." He leaned down and let Mia look over the books for a minute and once she realized they were her favorite books, he stood up and slowly walked back a couple steps. Mia smiled at the game and crawled towards William. Once she was at his feet she stood up and reached for her favorite book about farm animals.
"It's okay William. It was a great try," Oliver said as he made his way to Mia, but William held out his hand.
"No, just wait," he held the books at just the right level for Mia to see and grab while she was standing, but not crawling or sitting. He then slowly moved a couple inches back. Mia grabbed for the book, but once she realized she could no longer reach, she put Fofo in her mouth and tugged at his ear, something she did when she was nervous or upset.
They waited a moment, but just when Felicity was about to give up, Mia dropped Fofo on the ground and took a wobbly step towards the books. She almost fell, but luckily caught herself on the book. Oliver and Felicity looked at each other with wide eyes as William peeled her hands off the book and moved it back a little further. This time she was much more confident as she took two whole steps towards the books.
Felicity squealed loudly as she ran to Mia and lifted her in the air. Oliver walked over and wrapped her arms around both of them. He then took Mia from her arms, held her high and said to her, "You did it, girl! You walked!" He held her against his chest and gave a sweet kiss to her forehead. Felicity gave her one on her cheek.
"We are so proud of you baby girl," she said as she took Mia back and gently rocked her back and forth.
"Good job, Mia. That's my little sis being all awesome," William said proudly.
Oliver ran over to him and pulled him into a tight hug. "You are a genius, bud."
"I know," he said jokingly.
FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL
"Okay, look at the camera. 1, 2, 3 cheese," Felicity said as she took pictures of the twins. At six years old they were starting to look like miniaturized versions of their parents, and they were adorable.
"Moooom, are we almost done?" Owen complained. He was not fond of sitting still for very long and was anxious about his first day of school. He had long, thick blond hair that was brushed to side and was wearing a blue t-shirt with a white stripe across and white pants.
Mia on the other hand, was excited. She could already read at the second-grade level and was breezing through the kindergarten math book Felicity bought her over the summer. She had long brown hair that was tied up in a braid and a blue and white striped dress. Her glasses were bright pink, and she was two inches taller than Owen, which annoyed him to no end.
"Okay, I'm finished. Oh, I'm so proud of my little pumpkins." She gathered them in her arms and gave them big kisses on their cheeks.
"Mooooom," they both said in unison.
"Felicity, I think they need some room to breathe," Oliver joked.
"Alright," she said as she pulled back, but then immediately pulled them back in. "Oh, I love you guys so much. I can't believe you're already in kindergarten." They decided since the twins had been born early and had a little trouble meeting their marks early on, that they would keep them both back a year. Instead, Oliver spent all his time during the day preparing them for what they would expect. He started teaching them how to read, and while Mia obviously flourished, Owen was still struggling with the same basic words months later. Felicity was worried, but Oliver reminded her that most kids don't start really reading until first grade and sometimes second. He loved being a stay-at-home dad and was sad to not be able to spend all day with them.
"Can I skip the photo shoot?" a sixteen-year-old William asked as he made his way down the front steps. The little boy that came to live with them turned into a raging hormonal, coding genius, with dark brown hair. He had his hair cut short and a plaid button up on that Felicity made him wear.
"No, you may not. Everyone starting school this year gets a photo shoot. Now, stand there and hold this," she said as she handed him a board that said, "First day of junior year".
"Seriously? Dad, please tell her I'm too old for this," he pleaded.
"Well, maybe you shouldn't have snuck out last Thursday night to go to a party," Oliver said then turned to Felicity, "Take as many as you like and make sure they all go on Instagram."
After the torture of the shoot was over, William walked over to Owen, who was curled up in a ball on the stairs. His face lit up when William put his arm around him.
"Hey, little O," he said with a gentle shoulder punch, "what's wrong?"
"Nothing," Owen mumbled.
"Come on, you can tell me. Remember, I'm your cool big brother. I won't tell anyone."
Owen held out his hand. "Pinky promise?"
William had to hold in a laugh. "Okay, Pinky promise."
Owen fiddled with his hands for a minute, before saying, "What if the other kids don't like me?"
William was shocked that such a little kid would be worried about something like that. "Why would they not like you?"
Owen pointed to his Cochlear implant. "Because of this stupid thing."
William's heart broke when he heard the shaky voice of his six-year-old brother. "Hey, look at me." When Owen didn't look up, he grabbed his shoulders and twisted him towards him, then he lifted his chin.
"You are the most badass kid there is. If any of the other kids want to make fun of you, tell them they can answer to me, okay?"
Owen giggled at William. "Okay."
"Come on Owen. We're gonna be late," Mia yelled.
"Coming," he yelled back before giving William a strong hug. "I love you."
"I love you too, little O."
Owen pulled away and ran over to Mia, who said, "Okay, I'm gonna read you the kindergarten rules list one more time while we're in the car. I don't want a repeat of preschool."
"Ugggggh," Owen whined as he followed her to their car seats.
Once they were buckled in and about to leave, Oliver turned to Owen and asked, "Hey, I saw you were pretty down. Are you better now?"
"Uh huh, William said I look like a badass."
Oliver and Felicity's smiles both dropped as they jumped out of the car and shouted, "William!"
Two months later…
"Look, Felicity, I built matching hammocks," Oliver said proudly.
"I see that," Felicity said. "Why?"
Oliver huffed. "Why? Because every couple needs a pair of matching hammocks."
Felicity gave him a confused look. "Sure, honey."
Oliver happily walked from their backyard into the house, with Felicity right behind him. Once they got inside, Oliver started putting together some sandwiches.
"Oliver, listen I have been thinking about this for a while and I don't want you to take this the wrong way, because I do love the hammocks and fire pit you built a couple weeks ago and all the amazing dinners you've been making, but do you think maybe, you might be getting a little bored being around the house all day?"
"What?" Oliver asked as though it was a ridiculous question, but his eyes said otherwise. "I'm fine."
She placed her hand on his and rubbed her thumb over it gently. "It's just, I know you're used to having the twins and Hailey all day and the streets have stayed pretty clean lately with all the help of Roy working at the police department in the glades. I just want to know that you're staying busy."
Oliver thought it over. "I just don't know what to do. The kids are doing great in school and I'm glad the streets are staying clean, because that's all I've worked on since I've gotten back, but-"
"But it's all you've worked on since you've gotten back." Felicity said understandingly.
"I just don't know what to do with myself anymore," he admitted.
"Maybe you could get a job," she suggested. "Smoke technology has tons of openings right now."
"Thanks, but I think I need to find something else. Don't worry I'll think of something."
One year later…
"Felicity, I wanted to start by saying that you are the loveliest woman in my life. No, that sucks. Uh... Felicity, ever since we met, I've wanted to…no, damnit." Oliver cleared his throat. "Okay, Felicity, wow the ye-"
A knock on his door interrupted his speech. "Oliver, are you ready to go?" Felicity asked.
"Yeah, just a second." He took one more look in the mirror, fixed his tie, gave himself a nervous smile, and grabbed the tiny blue box out of his bottom dresser drawer. He opened the door to a marvelous looking Felicity who was wearing a slim black dress with a matching purse and her hair was curled down.
"Wow, you look stunning," Oliver told her, making her blush.
"Oh, thanks. You do too." He held out his arm and she placed hers through gently. They walked down the stairs where William was cooking the twin's dinner.
"Remember, bedtime is nine and do not give extra desert like last time," Oliver told William.
"I've got it guys. I've only babysat like a hundred times," William said with a fake eyeroll.
The twins ran up to Oliver and Felicity and gave them big hugs.
"Be careful and don't forget to drive slow when it gets dark," Mia instructed Felicity.
"Will you bring me back some desert?" Owen asked hopefully.
"We will bring home some and put it in the freezer and if you're good you can have it tomorrow." They then gave them each a kiss and made their way out the door.
Oliver and Felicity walked hand in hand into Felicity's favorite restaurant, The Chimney Pie. It was a fancy Italian place that made amazing pizza and pasta and Felicity's favorite dish, the chicken parmesan sub. They got in and ordered quickly before discussing their usual this and that. As time drew on, Oliver grew more worried. He felt foolish worrying about proposing to the woman who he'd lived with for seven years and shared children with, but he was still anxious.
What if she didn't want to get married? What if she wanted things to stay the way they were? Oliver didn't disagree with that since things were going extremely well for them, but that was the reason he thought he should propose. He figured the woman across from him deserved to have her perfect wedding after all she'd been through and he believed he deserved to have one too.
Once they got to the cake, Felicity ordered three slices of their favorite cheesecake, while Oliver gathered enough strength to stand. He took a deep breath, then finally stood up, only to then say, "I have to pee." He then ran to the bathroom before Felicity could even say, "Okay."
He stumbled into the bathroom, went to the sinks and splashed some water on his face. He looked in the mirror and said, "You can do this. You can do this. She is your best friend and if she says no, nothing has to change. Everything can go back to the way it was." He hoped. It just made him nervous she might say no and then explain that she doesn't see herself with him forever. Maybe she was just staying because of the kids.
He grabbed one of the paper towels and patted at his face till it was dry, then walked out.
Felicity had already started on her slice when he got to the table. As he sat down, she pushed the other slice toward Oliver.
"It's soooo good," she said happily as she took another bite. "Mmm."
Oliver took the time she had her eyes closed to get down on his knee. "Felicity, I-"
She held up her finger for a second before she swallowed. She then opened her eyes, which immediately widened when she saw he was not in his chair, but instead on the floor, with a ring in his hand. A simple, yet nicely detailed ring, with a big diamond in the middle, and smaller ones circling around it.
"I have a confession to make. When I met you, and you were chewing on that red pen, it wasn't the first time I met you. Well, it wasn't the first time I noticed you. A few years prior to returning from the island I was on a mission," Oliver said quietly so no one overheard. "I had to extract something from my dad's company, but in the process, someone walked in and that someone was you. I remember it like it was yesterday. You were wearing a black and white dress with black polka dots. You were grabbing something off my father's desk. Anyway, I remember you walked over to my picture and you started talking to it. You said I was cute and then you started rambling in the most adorable way. I always thought in another life that maybe you and I could have gone out, but I never thought that in this lifetime I would not only be with you, but also share a family with you. You are my soulmate, the reason I'm alive. You make me so incredibly happy and you are the best mother to our children. You treat William no different than you treat the twins and you are the most amazing person I've ever met. I am so happy with how my life has gone so far and I can't wait to see what happens next. So, Felicity Megan Smoak, will you marry me?"
"Oh my gosh, Oliver," she said as tears filled her eyes and she covered her mouth with her hands. She got out of her chair and kneeled in front of him, pressing her lips against his. Eventually she pulled back and Oliver asked, "I'm guessing that's a yes?"
She nodded before leaning back in.
Four months later…
Oliver was surprised to be called out that night. He had had an exhausting week and just wanted to go home and watch some tv with his family, but when Diggle called him asking for backup, he had no other option. He grabbed his bow he hadn't picked up in a week and made his way out.
There had been a metahuman running around lately, stopping crime and doing things to help the cops out, but Oliver still liked to keep track of the vigilantes in Starling. Diggle, Thea, Roy and Laurel had all tried to capture this guy or girl, but they couldn't, because this meta-human had the power to fly and was swift in their movements.
Oliver took to surveying the streets that night, while Roy made a fake police call. About twenty minutes later he saw the masked hero fly to the building where the supposed robbery was taking place. Oliver came up behind him, pointed his bow in his direction, and shouted, "HEY!"
The masked person turned around and their eyes widened as soon as they saw Oliver. They attempted to fly away, but Oliver took out his rope bow and they fell to the ground. He came over to the person who was still trying everything in their power to escape, when Oliver held them down and ripped off their mask. The person he saw, made him stumble back in shock.
"William?"
He quickly looked around to make sure no one saw them, before putting the mask back on his teenage son's head. He then unwrapped the ropes and pulled him up by the collar. He yanked him all the way back to the arrow cave, where Oliver threw William down in a chair.
"What the hell were you thinking?!" He asked, enraged. "You could have been killed! When were you going to tell me you could fly? When did that happen? I can't believe you went out without telling me and risked your life like this! What the hell were you thinking?"
William sat there looking down at his hands as he listened to his dad repeat the same questions over and over again, until he finally said, "Well, explain yourself!"
"I found out I had these powers when I was staying with my grandparents back when I was ten."
Oliver's eyes widened even more. "Why didn't you say anything?"
"I told Barry. At first, I thought it was just a cool secret. You know like Spiderman. Spiderman never told his aunt that he had superpowers. Anyway, after that it was just something that I didn't think about much. I mean, sometimes I float around my room when I'm bored and I have on occasion flown by the twin's window when they were sleeping to freak them out, but other than that I didn't think about it. It felt weird that I hadn't told you the secret and I didn't want you to wonder why I waited so long to tell you, so I just didn't tell you."
"Okay, let's forget about your confusing logic for a moment. What made you want to go out now?"
"I overheard you talking to Felicity about wanting to retire from the job, but you knew there would always be threats out there to fight, so I thought it would make it easier for you if you saw there were more people protecting the streets."
Oliver sighed, mentally hitting himself as he crotched down and said, "I'm sorry I blew up at you. You don't need to worry about doing this stuff. It's not something I ever wanted you to be a part of. You are a smart kid who needs to go to college and start a family without having to fight for your life on the streets."
William pushed his chair back as he stood up. "But you have gone out and risked your life hundreds of times. Why don't you deserve to take a break? You don't have to do this anymore."
"You're right and I think I am going to take a break. Once Felicity and I are married, I was going to finally say goodbye to being The Arrow. I'm going to walk away so you don't have to worry about that, okay."
William sighed. "But it's not just about that. I want to do this. All my life I've seen you give your life to help others, and I want to do the same. I'm eighteen, you can't stop me."
Oliver stood up and crossed his arms. "Oh, I can't?"
William held his hands up defensively. "What I mean is, I want to help people stay safe. I want to help rebuild the glades like Uncle Roy. Please Dad, don't make me stop."
Oliver thought it over for a long moment. He looked at William, who was standing in front of him with pleading eyes. He had grown up so much over the eight years he'd known him, and it would scare him to death thinking his son was out there on the streets every night. But he was right. He wasn't a kid anymore. He could make his own decisions and Oliver needed to let him.
"Fine, but there are rules. No going back on the streets until your senior year is done. You're going to be a carefree kid who goes to parties and you need to get back on that science team because I know you quit last week. Also, we are going to train, because I saw you tonight and if flying is the only thing that you have in your arsenal, then you're going to get taken down fast."
William smiled and wrapped his arms around Oliver. "Thanks, Dad."
Oliver pulled back with a smirk. "Oh, don't thank me yet. You still have to tell Felicity."
William's smile fell from his face. "Shit."
Ten Months Later…
Felicity pulled up to the elementary school parking lot excitedly. The twins were in the middle of second grade and had started to become busy with sports and other activities which made Oliver and Felicity sad. Yeah, they were busy with her company and Oliver being in his second year of college to become a middle school teacher, but having William gone at MIT and the twins doing things at least three nights a week and on weekends, family time was scarce. But not tonight. William was coming home for the first time since the year started and the kid's activities had been put on hold till the end of the holidays.
"How was your day, my little megabytes?" she asked.
"Good," Mia said, before grabbing her Goldfish bag.
"Well, did you hang out with your friends?"
"Yeah," Owen answered.
Felicity got the same answers every day, but she didn't let it stop her. Every day she tried to get at least one story out of them.
"What did you do?"
"Math, Reading, Science," Mia answered.
Felicity continued to ask them questions as they drove to Oliver's school to pick him up. When he got in the car, the twins started giggling.
"What?" Oliver asked.
"How was your day, Honey," Owen said in a silly voice.
"Did you make any friends?" Mia asked.
Oliver joined their giggles, but Felicity was not amused.
"Oh, so that's how I sound, huh?"
They all sobered up, afraid they had actually hurt her feelings, until she cracked a smile and busted out laughing.
"Okay, okay. Let's go. We're going to be late picking up William from the airport."
Felicity broke a few speed limits to get there, but nothing too dangerous. She was just excited to see William. He was her child just like the twins and she had a hard time adjusting to not having someone to talk code with at home.
He didn't even have time to say hello before Felicity ran up and wrapped her arms around him tightly.
"Hi, Felicity," he said excitedly, "It's good to see you."
"Oh, we missed you so much. We can't wait to hear about everything. Oh," she squealed as she pulled him back in.
"I'd give you a hug too, but Felicity doesn't seem to be letting go anytime soon." Oliver said with a joking smile.
She pulled back and swatted his arm. "Oh, hush."
The twins were the next ones to great him. They both ran up, and he lifted them into his arms. "Woah, you guys are getting heavy and have you each grown a foot? You know I told you not to grow while I was away." The twins both laughed.
"William, you have to see my science project I created for the science fair. It's a robot that's solar power," Mia said.
William raised his brow. "I didn't know they had second grade science fairs."
"They don't. This little bugger got herself into a fifth-grade science fair," Oliver said proudly as he tickled her side, producing a giggle from the young girl.
"Yeah, well I am the best scorer on my soccer team. You have to watch me play some time," Owen said, trying to upstage his sister.
"Sounds awesome guys. Listen, before we go, I have someone I'd like for you to meet. Merida?" he called out. A thin, dark haired women with large sunglasses and thick makeup looked up from where she was leaning against the wall playing on her phone. She rolled her bright pink suitcase up to the family.
"Hey, I'm Merida," she said with a straight, bored face. Oliver and Felicity looked at each other with confusion, and Felicity's stomach clenched.
"Hi, I'm Felicity," she said with a gulp.
"And I'm Oliver."
"And these little munchkins are my twin siblings I told you about. Owen and Mia, this is my girlfriend."
"GIRLFRIEND!" Felicity said harshly as she pulled back the covers that night.
Oliver came out of the bathroom with his toothbrush hanging out of his mouth and shrugged. "I don't get why it's such a big deal. He's had girlfriends before."
"That's not the problem. The problem is he didn't think to call us up and say, "Hey, I'm bringing my girlfriend home for the holidays. Oh, and by the way, were gonna spend half the time with her family! I thought we would get him for at least one year before he started bringing home girlfriends. And he could have picked one with a little more personality," she grumbled.
Oliver spit into the sink and washed his face, before sliding next to her in bed. "He's a nineteen-year-old boy. Sure, he's good with computers and math, but he is still as dumb as the rest of us when it comes to common sense."
"Well, if he thinks that they are going to stay in the same bed, then he is surely mistaken."
Oliver rolled his eyes. "Oh yeah, and we were so innocent before we got married. Remind me, how old are the twins again?"
Felicity slapped her hand against his chest. "That is exactly my point. He is not going to ruin his chances of finishing MIT and getting a great job by getting some girl knocked up at nineteen."
Oliver put his arm around her and guided her head to his shoulder. "Oh, come on. Things are going to be okay. He is smarter than you give him credit for."
"Didn't you just say nineteen-year-old boys were stupid?"
Oliver rolled his eyes, but then thought it over for a minute. "I'll talk to him and if I have to, I'll show him the condom on a banana trick again," he said as he turned out the lights.
