Moterock's Den of Devastation

CHP38: In Action

The sand Shinobis stood their ground watching and waiting to see what the individual in gold might pull off first. Their answer was final and they had no intention of letting him or anyone bypass them without clearance/a letter. Recently incidents occurred that turned out bad due to them electing to allow anyone to pass through, "As we've said before you won't be able to go any further without first returning with a letter of some form. I'd love nothing more than to let you three go right ahead but unfortunately we've got orders to follow."

Each shinobi remained on guard ready to battle if that's what it came to. None could figure if he was a samurai, knight or something else entirely. His golden armor, boots, mask helmet combination and gauntlets were something they hadn't seen from any particular group. His comments suggesting they move aside or die put them fully on guard. In total were three, not a single of them dressed the same. The intensity seemed to rise the longer they stood around, neither side speaking a word.

"What the hell do you plan to prove?! All we ask is that you leave and return with some sort of clearance. Without that there is no way we can let you pass through here, and on top of that you people still have yet to identify yourselves!" One out of the five sand shinobi declared.

As it had been additional silence followed, neither side budging. Shoulders dropped and looking up from the dirt road Shredder tightened his fists, "You've been warned once and I don't plan on asking again. Move out of the way or be annihilated and dead at my feet!"

By his tone alone they knew how serious he was without seeing his face. All of them stepped back preparing for battle during which a chuckle escaped from the Shredder's lips. Sasuke and the other member to the RD's remained behind the Shredder respecting his decision to go about taking on the shinobi all alone. Further preparing for a fight each shinobi jumped into fighting stances instigating more laughter from the Shredder.

"You choose to lose your lives over something so petty…truly pathetic. However this will give me the opportunity I've been waiting some time for."

"Which is?" One of them asked a pinch of tremble in his tone.

"Putting my training to the test."

None were sure what to make of his words and wanted to know just who he was. The more time that passed the more eager they became. With no sign of ninja headbands from a single of the intruders they wondered if a single of them originated from a hidden village. On hindsight not a single looked even remotely familiar. A couple seconds of staring transpired before Shredder took a few steps forward.

"So be it…you people have left me no other option."

Shredder took a knee punching into the ground. Alertly the sand shinobis leaped upward and off to the sides anticipating the attack to come from beneath them. For some time nothing happened, each trying to figure if his attack failed or was a bluff all together.

"Blinding shards!" Shredder pronounced.

Bright lights of silver energy erupted from the ground beneath, tearing through their bones and flesh. Blood spatter was all around except for one of the individuals who was partially able to elude the attack but didn't escape without first sustaining damage. The needle shaped light energy ripped through his left leg various times, figuring there must have been hundreds of them. He couldn't believe his eyes observing the rest of his team in pools of blood with absolutely no movement. Grasping at his own leg in tremendous pain he fell back trying to contain his own blood flow.

"Let's go before more of them show," Shredder looked back at Sasuke and the other member who'd been assigned to them.

They took off leaving behind the single sand shinobi not realizing others of Sunagakure were on the way and would soon be on their trail.

At the conclusion of their training session, Michelangelo, Bruce and Leonardo returned to the tree house which had been their home and base of operation for the past couple weeks. Kid Flash had since returned hanging around out front. Off to the side of them Raphael engaged in a small workout of his own. As of late they didn't have a lot going on, Raphael still wanting to remain in top shape knowing anything could happen.

Donatello on the other hand sat beneath a nearby tree with a lot on his mind. Like everyone else he wasn't fond of the current situation being so far away from home. The reality of being in a entirely different dimension made him feel even more home sick. In ways he wanted to go after the enemy knowing full well they held the keys to returning him and his brothers home. Problem was the amount of members. Neither he nor the rest of them had any clue as to how large the Ravagers of the Den really were; could be hundreds or thousands.

His concentration was cut off by a loud bang coming from the distance, in addition to screams. Everyone else standing around perceived the sounds as well. What they heard sounded far from a joke, each of them certain something bad was happening. All at once they looked in the direction where they believed the ruckus originated. Michelangelo scratched at the top of his head.

"You dudes think we should check it out, sounds like some pretty serious stuff?"

"Not a good idea Mikey. Have you not forgotten the trouble we've gotten ourselves into exploring these lands? With all the owned territory and villages staying put is the best way to protect ourselves at this point." Raphael thought back to recent encounters since their arrival into the shinobi world.

Leonardo gave it a little extra thought, Donatello and Bruce doing the same. For a little while they remained quiet. Standing from beneath the tree Donatello rejoined the group, "I say we check it out from afar. It's really none of our business but it sounded like those people were in some real trouble. I'm not saying we go all in still we should at least assess the situation from afar. If it does in fact turn out to be then maybe we jump in."

"My thoughts exactly, but number one priority is staying hidden from everyone." Leonardo added.

"Then it's settled…lets got go check it out." Bruce replied.

Before long he journeyed into the tree house equipping with his utility belt and the rest of his gear. The turtles did the same recovering their weapons and necessary equipment. Without delay they headed in toward where they believed the activity to be taking place. Kid Flash rubbed his hands together hoping they'd all get the chance to get their feet dirty for a change. He hadn't been in action for quite awhile.

"Here's an idea. How about I speed ahead and check things out and then report back to you guys? We'd save ourselves a lot of time if we went about doing it that way yeah."

Just before Batman could speak the speedster was already out of sight. The Dark Knight tightened his fist wanting to yell out, but knew Kid Flash was long gone. A little over ten seconds later he returned to the group lifting the goggles from his eyes. By the expression on his face Batman had a feeling something was up, "What did you see?"

"Talk about extremely convenient," Kid Flash scratched at the side of his head, "You're not going to believe this but…it's Circe and Deathstroke!"

Batman's eyes widened looking into Kid Flash's face. He couldn't believe his own ears wondering if he heard right.

"Sorry to interrupt but who is Deathstroke and Circe? By the looks of it I'd say you know them and it doesn't seem to be in a good way." Raphael implied.

Batman darted past everyone in a full out sprint, "I'll tell you about it on the way. Both of them are high profile criminals and are from the same world as Kid Flash and I. We must hurry those civilians could be in great danger!"

He had no clue what they were up to and still couldn't believe Kid Flash actually spotted them. It was no secret they'd been recruited by the unknown group and he was more than ready to find out why. All of them traveled at near top speed except for Kid Flash pacing himself with the rest of the group.

Worlds away

Four muggers heavily loaded with guns and other type weapons carried two sacks filled with cash. All of which wore black ski masks. From above a familiar face to Metropolis showed his face; red cape, boots, blue armor and the Iconic S symbol over the chest. Superman took all the goons down in a quick flash. His heat vision came into play demolishing each criminal's weapon. They tried running but the man of steel used his super speed catching all of them flying them to the nearest police station down a few blocks. As he did so Superman was knocked to the ground from behind. He couldn't say for certain what it was but got the idea it was an energy wave of some sort. Standing to his feet and dusting himself off, he faced the other way.

In the middle of the street stood something that looked to be a cyborg, covered in a combination of black and silver armor. Surrounding officers inside the main building caught a glimpse of what was transpiring outside deciding to take action. Through the front door they arrived, weapons aimed at the unidentified target.

The cyborg traveled to a police car arriving on the scene. The officer opened fire and instantly a cluster of bullets rained down on the cyborg. But it was not phased even the slightest. Not a single bit of damage was sustained. He continued to the police car and with his left hand tossed it into the air. The vehicle spun on its axis in the air. Superman caught the police car while it was still airborne gently setting it over the ground. The officer inside was visibly shaken but thankful for the save. It wasn't everyday someone could say they'd been rescued by Superman.

Superman was about to use force on the cyborg when suddenly its chest opened exposing Superman to a bright green light. The light radiation was visibly weakening Superman. He harnessed enough strength to use his heat vision destroying the bright light which seemed to have similar affects to kryptonite.

Immediately Superman felt his strength returning.

"I don't know who or what you are but this madness ends now." Superman cracked his knuckles.

The two super beings stood there, sizing each thinking what move to initiate next. The cyborg made the first move. Up till that point Superman was surprised it hadn't spoken a single word. It moved fast trying to close the ten foot distance between it and Superman. But with astounding speed Superman zipped faster and with one blow disengaged the cyborg's head from its body. Its head flew high into the sky only to be caught by Superman on its way down. The rest of its body tumbled to the ground. Using his superb vision he took a peek inside spotting in bold letters LC with a well known mark beside it.

"Lex Corp…" He murmured tightening his fists.

Superman left everything to the police taking off into the air and disappearing over the building tops. His first thought was to head straight for Lex Corp and confront the guilty party. He stopped his progression seeing as someone wearing a similar outfit to his own appeared.

"Kara what are you d…"

"Diana asked me to locate you, something about a meeting concerning the disappearances of Starfire Zatanna and stuff." Supergirl interrupted shrugging her shoulders.

"Where is Wonder Woman now?"

"Watchtower I suppose, well at least that's where she said she was headed."

"In that case we shouldn't keep them waiting." Superman uncovered his JL teleport device using it to beam him and Supergirl. His meet with Luther would have to wait.
