Parody 36: Crappy
"Hey . . . have you guys heard this son?" asked Temari as she walked into the living room to find everyone else watching a comedy show on TV.
"Heard what song Temari?" asked Kankuro as he looked away from the screen.
"The song "Happy" by Pharrell Williams," answered Temari as she waved her I-Pod in the air. "This song is cheerfully addicting!"
"I've heard that song; practically all of the Academy senseis were humming the tune during their classes today." said Izuka as she looked up at the wind mistress.
"This song has been growing very popular with each passing day," said Temari as she put her I-Pod in to the stereo dock. "I'd say we make a parody for it."
"Yeah . . . and who would you have sing the parody for 'Happy' in the first place Temari?" asked Ryu as she flew over to the wind mistress. Temari smirked at the small dragon before turning to Gaara, who was the only one to not look away from the TV.
"No" Gaara answered simply as he continued to watch the TV, not even bothering to wait for Temari to ask her question first.
"Oh come on Gaara, you didn't even give me the chance to ask the question first." cried Temari as she walked over to her little brother.
"I know what you're going to ask, and even if you ask the question anyway, my answer is still no." Gaara answered her blankly as he got out of his seat and headed for the kitchen.
"Please Gaara!" exclaimed Temari as she followed after her brother. "Pretty please with cookies on top?"
"Let me think about it . . . NO!" said the young Kazekage as he opened the fridge.
"Fine . . ." mumbled the wind mistress as she walked away dejectedly, but that's when she came face to face with the cookie jar on the counter. And then an idea popped into her head. "Izuka . . . when was the last time you baked cookies?"
"Uh . . . yesterday!" called the Lady Sage from the other room. Temari smirked at her answer before grabbing the cookie jar right off the counter, much to Gaara's displeasure.
"Temari . . . put that jar back." said Gaara as he walked up to her with a glass of milk in hand.
"Nah . . . I'm going to hang on to this little jar for a while . . ." said Temari as she started to walk away from him. ". . . Unless . . ."
"I'm not singing the parody." Gaara told her bluntly as he followed her into the living room.
"Then I'm not putting this cookie jar back . . . and you're not getting any." Temari told him with a smirk as she took out her video camera from her pocket. "Hey guys! Who wants to eat some cookies in front of Gaara's face?"
"ME!" exclaimed Kankuro and Ryu as they jumped out of their seats. As the two ran over to the wind mistress, Izuka slowly walked over to the Gaara, who was not too happy that Temari was sharing out the cookies without giving a single one to him.
"Does she really think giving away the cookies to Kankuro and Ryu will get to me?" Gaara asked the Lady Sage bluntly as he turned to her.
"Well . . . considering I'll be leaving for a three week trip to Kumo tomorrow morning and I have already baked cookies yesterday so I won't be baking any cookies tonight, I think she may have you there Gaara." answered Izuka as she shrugged her shoulders.
"You're going where?" asked Gaara as he looked at her slightly confused.
"Kumo; you were the one that assigned me this diplomatic mission in the first place Gaara," said Izuka as she shook her head. I thought you remembered that . . . Never mind . . . you have a choice to make . . . sing the parody and spare the cookies or not sing the parody and watch as all the cookies are eaten before your very eyes."
Gaara set his lips in a hard line as he thought his options over. He didn't want to sing the parody, but he didn't want the cookies to be eaten away right in front of his eyes . . .
"Fine . . . I'll sing the parody." said Gaara in defeat as he shook his head. Temari let a big smile come across her face before she handed over the half empty cookie jar to Izuka. She turned on her video camera as she walked over to the stereo. Once she turned on the song, she turned her camera straight on Gaara, who only scowled as he listened to the tune.
It might seem freaky what I'm about to say
Rain's not here, can't we get a break
I'm a tired kid with a tired face
Go to bed, but I'll wake up the next day anyway
Because it's crappy
Clap along if you fell right down into a pool
Because it's crappy
Clap along if you just don't want to go to school
Because it's crappy
Clap along if you don't want to fight in a duel
Because it's crappy
Clap along if you are feeling crappy too
Here comes bad news talking this and that, yeah
Well, oh crap why not, don't hold news back, yeah
Well, I should probably warn you it's a bad time, yeah
No offense to you, it's not a crime
Here's why
Because it's crappy
Clap along if you fell right down into a pool
Because it's crappy
Clap along if you just don't want to go to school
Because it's crappy
Clap along if you don't want to fight in a duel
Because it's crappy
Clap along if you are feeling crappy too
Hey, what's wrong?
Bring me down
It's gonna bring me down
You love is too high
Bring me down
It's gonna bring me down
I said (let me tell you now)
Bring me down
It's gonna bring me down
Your love is too high
Bring me down
Something brought me down
I said
(Hook 2X)
Hey, what's wrong?
Bring me down . . . It's gonna . . .
Bring me down . . . Your love is too high . . .
Bring me down . . . It's gonna . . .
Bring me down; I said (let me tell you now)
(Hook 2x)
What's wrong?
"Way to make a happy song sound so . . . crappy!" said Kankuro as he nibbled on his cookie.
"Like I said . . . I didn't want to sing the parody in the first place. Now if you excuse me . . . I'm going to get a snack." said Gaara as he followed Izuka, who was still holding the cookie jar in her arms, into the kitchen.
"Are you actually going to upload the parody online?" asked Ryu as she looked at the wind mistress.
"Of course I am . . . Gaara's parody is practically the opposite of the original song! I'm going to get a lot off views with this song." answered Temari as she picked up her stuff and headed for the stairs.
"I still think the song is crappy." muttered Kankuro as he went back to watching TV.
"Dude . . ." muttered Ryu as she shook her head. "That's the whole point of the song!"
End of parody 36.
Please review and leave song suggestions.
"Happy" belongs to Pharrell Williams and Despicable Me 2. "Crappy" is just the parody for it.
