"Killer Kitty!" I exclaim, extremely shocked at the sight of my old ally and foe. I pull out my hatchet, earning a snicker from the girl I thought to be dead for two years now. I mentally scorned myself; My past has finally come back to haunt me, and now another life is at risk because of me. Sparrow's life.

"What are you doing here Killer Kitty? I thought you died."

"That's no way to welcome an old friend." she replied with a smile, pushing her gun up to Sparrow's temple with more force.

My partner had a mixture of shock, anger, fear, and pure confusion written all over his face.

"I'm here for you, Pure Kitty. Oh wait, that's right? You go by Red Riding Hood now."

I cringed at the sound of my old name, but stayed quiet, not
speaking a word until I was asked a question.

I'm working with a delusional psychopath here. Anything can set her off.

"You claimed that you're no longer a part of the Stray Kitties clan, yet you still wear the base of your old uniform, and use the same honorary 'ol hatchet. And yet all you do to try to change the horrible person you were and still are, you hide under that pathetic red hood."she points out, disgusted.

"Red," Sparrow speaks up for the first time since Killer Kitties
arrival. "What the heck is going on?"

"Go ahead, Red." Killer smirks. "Tell 'em."

I felt frozen up against the brick wall I had my back on. Telling my story is something I've only done once, and that was with Elliot after
he saved me. I took a deep breath. I have to do this, or else Sparrow's brains will be... everywhere.

"Before this," I say tugging on my hood. "I was a Stray Kitty, an elite teen soldier to the Stay Kitties clan. I was on the verge off
suicide..."

Flashback:

The rain hit my nose as I looked up at the gray sky, ready to make the biggest decision of my life.

Today, I die.

As the rain and tears ran down my face, I closed my eyes. My dad was never home, so he wouldn't miss me. Trish might be leaving for Spain soon, so she would be able to get over me pretty fast. And Austin...

He's probably never coming back.

I held my breath, slowly leaning over the roof of the tree story school. "I'm coming mom..."

Then I fell...

"No!" I felt a firm grip on my hand, holding on tightly so I wouldn't fall. I looked up at my savior, "It's okay, I'll help you."
she said, as if I wasn't purposely trying to kill myself.

"Who are you?" I asked curiously.

"The name's Amanda."

Reality:

I let a few tears slip at the thought of Amanda. " But then I was saved by a member. After being recruited, I began skipping school, and
trained with them daily. After a couple weeks, I earned the position as a Pure Kitty, a trainee scout." I explained, looking at Sparrow,
then Killer Kitty.

"Keep going." Killer Kitty commanded.

I did exactly as she commanded. "Wicked Kitty, my- I mean "our" mentor, saw how evil the clan could truly be, and tried to get me to quit. But I was too blinded and too foolish, and when she tried to warn me, I just pushed her away.

Flashback:

Bam! I sent a hard kick too the dummies side. Bam! Then a swift kick to the face. I rolled back, but the launched myself at the dummy, Bam!
Knocking it off it's post then, Tink! I hit it with a hard throw from my throwing star, impaling it in the chest.

"Take that!" I said, almost out of breath from my two hour work out. Amanda gave me a worried look. "What's up?"

"I'm starting to have second feeling about this whole thing." she says, causing me to come to a complete halt with my work out.

"Excuse me?" I ask her, still a bit shocked. "But there is no way I'm quitting on this chance of being a Stra-"

"Killer?" she asks me. "Because that's what it's really about. This isn't some game, Ally, this is real life. And I don't want you to get stuck in this mess."

"Stop trying to be my Mom! You're not! My! Mother!" I shout, rage building up. I then focus back on my training, getting my aggression out. "Just go away, I have more training to do."

Reality:

"I worked so hard, but on my last trial for my training, I finally understood what Amanda meant. I was about to become a full fledged Stray Kitty, but to prove myself I had to kill an eleven year old boy who had been bullying younger girls. I didn't do it, because I couldn't do it.

So, I ran as fast and as far away as I could, but knowing Killer Kitty that didn't last long." I say, moving the object around in my hand.

"What happened?" Sparrow spoke curiously, as Killer Kitty was staring daggers at me, but as I spoke the next sentence, she smiled proudly.

"She kidnapped me." I said, and as Killer Kitty was gloating silently, I grabbed two more. "Queen Kitty wanted to look me in the eyes before she let Killer Kitty execute me. But Wicked Kitty saved me..."

Flashback:

"Killer Kitty," the queen spoke aloud as all the other members watched me ready to be killed as my mentor held tightly onto me. With my hands cuffed, and my ex-mentor holding me, I saw no escaping this time. "Kill her!" she ordered.

"Lets get you home," Amanda spoke quietly, sparking the bit of hope I had stored away. Amanda tossed a smoke bomb, Poof! Making the whole room erupt with the thick smoke. Tink! Tink! Tink! She started tossing stars left and right as other Kitties charged us.

"We can't hold them off!" I said panicked, knowing that half of these girls were twice as good as me.

"I know that." Amanda said, kicking a Kitty in he head before pulling out another star. "So I will."

"Wai-" she launched her star at a line, hitting an over hanging light, causing a chain reaction so that the light hit a gas barrel-
BOOM! As the fire spread, my mentor forced me towards an exit. Then out of the fire lit shadows, a group of Kitties surrounded us.

"You're leaving." she told me.

I shook my head. "I'm not gonna leave you."

"I know you won't." she said honestly, a tear streaming down her face as she looked at me with a proud smile. "Don't let me down." But before I could speak, I found myself crashing out the window, and
rolling down a hill.

When I looked back at the place I found to be a second home going down in flames, I saw the warehouse burn down, cops and firemen surrounded the building, but then as I watched on, it finally hit me.

Reality:

"... There were no survivors." I said disappointed in myself. Killer
Kitty seemed emotional, a mixture of rage and guilt for her fallen
comrades. "Killer Kitty, I'm so sorry."

"An eye for an eye, Pure Kitty. An eye for an eye..." ready to pull the trigger, she loosened her hold on Sparrow.

Quickly, I threw three throwing starts at her, which I had sneakily pulled out while telling my story, hitting her arm she held the gun in, which was now on the floor.

Frustrated, Killer Kitty started to flee the scene, me and Sparrow quickly on her tail. "Don't lose her, no matter what!" I said worried.

She could go after my family, or friends.

"This way!" Sparrow said, pointing up at a stairwell. I nodded my head, following him up. Soon enough, we ended up on the roof. "Don't move Killer Kitty." Sparrow warns her, whipping out his staff.

Killer Kitty looked at me and Sparrow. With a twisted smirk on her face, she pulled out the stars from her arm. Then, she pulled out a handful of small black pellets. Smoke bombs! In the blink of an eye, Foom! We were surrounded by a fog of white smoke.

"Red!" Sparrow yelled. "We're gonna have to settle for just our other four senses."

"Already on it!" I closed my eyes, and took a deep breath. I quickly ducked down, and swept her feet from under her feet, and heard an 'oof' when she hit the ground.

Blindly, I lunged at her. Bam! She kicks me off of her, so I roll back, taking a better position than before. With the smoke feeling less dense, I opened my eyes.

Back onto her feet, Killer Kitty stared me down, one hatchet per hand. She comes at me with the hatchets, I arched my back, and did a backhand spring, Bam!Kicking her under her chin, making her stumble backwards. She quickly recovers, and sends the butt of her hatchet, at my rib cage. Pow! With the powerful blow, I felt the air push out of me, as i fall back.

"You're going to regret that!" Sparrow shouts, jumping in on the action. I look back to Sparrow as he takes on Killer Kitty. He dodged all of her hits with such precision. I jump up onto my feet.

"Sparrow!" I shouted, giving him a nod. Our eyes locked, and he
understood.

With full momentum, I run at him full sprint. He grabs my arms, and swings me around, spinning me around fast.

"Now!" I shout,he lets go of me and I fly at Killer Kitty, kicking her with such
force. BAM! Let's just say, she has a giant boot print on her face and upper chest.

"That was awesome!" Sparrow says, giving me a high five. As if it was that easy to take her down, it takes a lot more than a kick to the face to finish Killer Kitty.

I just go along with it anyway.

"We are a pretty good team, aren't we?" As expected, Killer Kitty springs back to life. She jumps at me with her hatches, ready to lob my head off. But before she could hit me, Sparrow pushes me out the way. Killer Kitty was expecting to hit me, but wasn't expecting me to move. With her slight miscalculation, she tumbles of the side of the roof, but quickly grabs the ledge. As Sparrow checks me over, making sure I wasn't hit by one of her

hatchets, I push him off and run over to Killer Kitty.

"Killer Kitty! Grab my hand." I reach to grab her hand, offering her a second chance. I couldn't let another Kitty die on me, even though I hate her guts, but against all my hope, she lets go. It felt like forever, watching her fall, its like she died right before she even hit the ground.

"NO! Not again!" I yelled, uncontrollably. I fall to my knees, balling. "She's dead!" I yell, refusing to let my partner see me cry,but unsuccessfully, I watch as a couple tears hit the ground.

"I'm sorry Red." Sparrow whispers softly, putting his arm on my back. Feeling his warmth, I let out a sob. Pushing away the action and adventure our partnership has been built around, Sparrow wraps his arms around me. Holding me close, he tries his best to calm me down, but it doesn't work.

I couldn't control my breathing, I began hyperventilating. "Red, look at me. Try holding your breath." he advises, gently turning my face towards his. His white eyes looking deeply into mine.

I shook my head, unable to catch my breath. "I- I can't."

"I'll help you." he says softly, with a concerned and scared look on his face. Slowly, he leans forward, placing his lips on mine. Shocked, everything seems to stop. I find myself blushing deeply, but with all the thoughts on my mind, everything felt numb. His lips are so soft, and they strangely taste like pancakes.

... Pancakes!

With my mind reminding me of my blonde crush, I find myself in a confusing situation. I can't be doing this.. I have feeling for
Austin. I can't betray them now.

I pull away. "I-I'm sorry. I can't." I say to my masked ptartner.

I stand up, and like a ballerina, I jump off the roof, landing softly onto a dumpster. Looking up back at the roof where the past and present, a single piece of rain hits the tip of my nose. As it begins to rain gallons, I run off.

Leaving the past.
