You know what I really hate? Writer's block. I wrote this in two nights, and yet it took me about a week to process the ideas. :C
But good news, this is a longer chapter, which means more drama... and more stuff for you to read before next chapter... and you all know what that is...! I hope.
I've been uploading more videos to my Youtube channel if any of you guys wanna check those out... but only if you haven't already! (Info is in my profile)
*Pre-chapter Author's Note: The quote I mention that Toby says is really his. I looked it up.*
Sky POV
The Sky Army and their allies gathered in the woods near our enemies's base. Carmen, Sam, and Ava knew where Steve's cave hid, so we took their directions to find it again. I ran up a small hill so the recruits could see me better. They chatted amongst each other, causing me to cross my arms and glare at them.
"SHUT UP AND LISTEN TO SKY!" Dan yelled, and I replied with a sarcastic eye roll. Almost instantly, everyone paid attention, even Mitch, who I realized had been focusing on something else.
"I once knew a man…" I called out to the Audience and my own recruits, who stared at me patiently with interested glances, "Who taught me a valuable lesson. *Keep your hopes up or down. Wherever you want them to be. Just have hope somewhere.* That lesson came from Toby Turner, the former leader of the Sky Army. I am honored to have him in my presence after so many years. Remembering from the past, I used to daydream about fighting for the Sky Army, and never thought in a million years that I could be the one you all look up to. And for that… I am honored." I sighed, taking in the pressure that would come with that day. It would be the day that we either lose or win. My eyes peacefully closed for a split second. Later, I remembered that I was the leader of the Sky Army.
"Today!" I continued, raising the pitch of my voice. Noticing my nervousness, I cleared my throat, "Today is the day fate decides whether we live or die. As most of you already know, the Overworld noticed the return of Steve's descendant. The descendant is one of our own recruits… and I know her well enough to figure out that she would never betray us for Steve." I looked over at Mitch, who held his chin up high, his eyes locked on mine. Once I softly smirked, he smiled back. "If we don't win… then everyone is finished. Not only the Overworld… but the squid dimension, the Aether, the Nether…" I dared to say the last dimension, "The End! If Steve is able to use the descendant's powers to his advantage, the whole universe is in danger. This is why we, as the Sky Army, must protect the others, even though some of them are our arch nemeses, the squids. Today is the day we fight for not only our lives, but the lives of the squids, Herobrine, and Notch as well."
The recruits murmured when I mentioned Notch.
"How could Notch die?!"
"What will Sky do?"
"Does Steve really have that much power?"
"Who is the descendant?"
"I hope we'll all get out of this alive."
At that comment, I inhaled and closed my eyes yet again for another split second, "We will win!"
All of the recruits turned their attention to me within two seconds.
I went on, proud of my promise, "We will win! Steve may have the advantage with the Jewel of Notch, but we have something he will never. Friendship. Integrity. Loyalty. Belief." I grinned. "Not to mention budder." Only my recruits chuckled because they heard me say it every day. "Because of that… we will win! I promise you all that or we die trying!" The recruits cheered as I was helped off the hill by Ty and Jason.
Cassandra POV
Mitchie ran inside of the castle, panting. Her cheeks were wet of sweat and her clothes sticking to her skin. Several dozen pig men followed her, although they didn't seem to be tired. Just bored.
"The Nether can be so exhausting. Who would want to stay here for eternity?" Mitchie groaned so softly that I could barely overhear.
I gasped, forcing Mitchie to glance up and give me an angry glare.
"What are you looking at?!" she growled.
"What were you doing?" I questioned.
"Running after those brats… Riegg… and Sky and Marley… and Fia… and Ashley…"
"They got away?"
Mitchie nodded, "And it's no thanks to you."
I annoyingly crossed my arms, "And why is this my fault?"
"You should've sent Ashley to the squids when you had the chance."
My arms fell to my side. I gaped open my mouth, horrified, "How the Nether do you know about that?"
Mitchie chuckled, "I have my sources. Let's see… the squids asked you if you had connections to Sky of the Sky Army and you told them you had his girlfriend. They wanted her for bait… but you said no. You said no cause she was your baby sister. I would've given up Riegg any day to make my enemies suffer."
My head lowered to the ground and my breath became abnormally thicker, "But that's… Family is supposed to help you…"
"Not when you're evil."
I glanced up at Mitchie, now standing up straight, a devilish smirk appearing on her face. She motioned the pig men to surround me by twirling around her index finger. I spun around once, just to make sure they were doing what I thought.
"You don't have to do this…" I begun panicking, not sure of which way to turn.
Mitchie slowly shook her head and sighed. I paid attention to the slight relief in her voice, "If you wanna be good… don't mess around with me."
"You do realize that I want to get rid of Sky…"
My old friend quickly snapped back at me, "But you won't get rid of your siblings if they get in the way. That's the problem."
"Mitchie…"
"Don't Mitchie me! Can't you see I'm not a good person?! It's all your fault, Cassandra! All your fault! And now you have to pay for what you've done!"
"I don't know what I did wrong!"
Mitchie gritted her teeth together, "Everything. Good luck trying to survive with all those pig men on my side now." She smirked and walked away, making one last motion for the pig men to attack me. I watched my ally walk away, neglecting my pleas for help. No one else was around. I had nonchalantly plotted myself in Mitchie's trap. I had once been her friend.
Mitch POV
The thought of Ray's bright smile came to my mind again. Her smooth hand on my face, leading down to the bottom of my neck; her other hand on my back, grasping lightly onto my plaid black and red jacket; her pink lips against mine. The hood of her white colored jacket on top of her hazelnut-hued hair, displaying perfect shadows on her cheeks and dark brown eyes. I could never forget the way she looked at me after we kissed. At that moment, I could only close my eyes and imagine.
"Mitch!" Jerome screamed close to my ear, causing me to jump out of my daydream. I almost smacked my biggums across the face, but my common sense came back just in time.
I quickly shook my head before talking, "What is it?"
Jerome hesitated, "We're going to battle in a few minutes. Just waiting for the Audience recruit to come with news on Emma."
I slanted my head. "Who's Emma again?"
He instantly replied, "Ty's partner."
"Oh."
"Yeah. She was in a coma when he left her there."
I bit my lip, unsure of what to say next. "Anything else we're waiting for?"
"Nope…" Jerome finally noticed my uneasiness, "You alright?"
I tightened my eyebrows and glanced away from Jerome, "No. I'm not alright."
"Like I've told you before… I promise we'll find her. I swear on… on…" The bacca glanced around, trying to find out what would make me more cheerful.
I smirked, "Betty. Swear on Betty."
Jerome smiled and patted me on the back, "That's my benj!"
I growled, "You know what?"
"What?"
"I wanna kill Steve so bad…"
"I know you do, but we just gotta wait a little more time…" Jerome tried to calm me down more, but he could see that his previous methods worked better. I easily changed the subject, although Jerome would have rather stayed with me arguing about Ray and Steve.
"How are you and Jaymee?"
My friend took that question as a surprise, "Uh… okay I guess… She's still really mad at me for that accident…"
I laughed, causing Jerome to stare at me, his mouth wide open, "Biggums, you were angry at her for no apparent reason."
He burst back, clumps of bacca hair sticking out from his armor due to being frightened of my queries, "I had a reason!"
I shook my head. "No. You didn't. I dare you to talk to her after this is all over."
"Fine…" Jerome chuckled, and I rolled my eyes.
Sky stood on a hill and begun declaring a speech, which I maintained to listen to some of the time without thinking about when I could see Ray again. When Sky returned to the masses, I saw Fia raise her right hand in a fist, "Long live the Sky Army!"
A recruit from the Audience named Icy raised her left hand in a fist, "Long live the Audience!"
I had no idea what rushed through my mind at that time. So instinctively, I raised both of my hands in fists, "Long live the saviors of the universe!"
The answer to chapter 37's question was Ariana. She wasn't a very good character in my opinion, so I decided not to continue her appearances in the rest of the story. If you want her to show up next chapter, the finale, or Legend Part 2, just let me know!
Next chapter is the final battle! Next chapter is the FINAL COUNTDOWN! DA NA NA NA! DA NA NA NA NA!
Question time!
What will happen to Emma?
a. She'll stay in a coma.
b. She'll wake up, but leave afterwards.
c. She'll die.
d. She'll wake up and stay with the Sky Army.
