The night after Matt returned home safely was a big night for he and Gabby. They made love all night just wanting to feel each other and be as close as possible after being seperated for those few days. Little did they know that was the night they would be concieving another baby. They were surprised to the news of another baby but ecstatic non the less. So when they went to the first ultrasound little did they know, it was twins yet again. That news changed a lot of things in their lives. Adding two more babies meant four children in their already little apartment. Four car seats in a small car was impossible.
The first purchase they made was a new mini van to accommodate the growing family. Next was the house that they bought. Matt found a great home perfect for the six of them but it was in much need of repairs. Gabby was not onboard at first worried about all the work that needed to be done and if he could have it finished before the new pair of little Casey's made their entrance into the world. She quickly conceded when it was what they could afford and the amount of house they were getting for the money couldn't be passed up. Gabby quickly fell in love with the home once Matt showed her all his great ideas of what to do with the space.
Matt got the work to the house completed about a month before Gabby's due date. Making the move was not easy for Gabby was huge at this point and could not help much with packing and unpacking boxes. As well as care for two ten month old twins that were just starting to crawl. Luckily for them everyone from firehouse 51 came to help allowing Gabby her much needed rest doctors orders. They were quickly settled in to their new home with two weeks to spare before their lives once again got hectic.
Today is the day Gabby's c-section is scheduled for." You got my bag Matt?" She calls out while waiting at the bottom of the stairs in the living room.
"Yes babe." Matt answers flustered as he comes down the stairs with her bag slung over his back and Alyssa and Andy in each arm giggling." I love you babe but I'm so glad this is almost over." Matt says kissing her cheek before placing the twins down in front of their toys in the living room.
"You do realise their will be two more of them when it's all over?" Gabby says lightly chuckling pointing toward Alyssa and Andy.
"Yeah Gabby I do realise that in a few hours we will have four kids all under the age of one." He answered still in a flustered tone as he walks to the kitchen to make himself a cup of coffee.
Gabby couldn't help but smile at a flustered Matt he was more nervous then she was of her impending surgery. This time he would get to be with her in the or during the birth for this time there would be no complications." You are the best father you know that." She tells him rounding the counter that looked out over the living room where the twins sat still.
Matt instantly relaxed from her words." Thanks." He says placing his hands on her belly." Your not so bad yourself, mommy." He teases as he leans in to kiss her lips.
"Dada." Alyssa spoke as she crawled into the kitchen now.
"Oh my god did you here that?" Gabby says excitedly that they heard Alyssa speak her first word. Matt was speechless as he just scouped the baby off the floor in his arms planting a big kiss on her cheek causing her to giggle." See they know it just as much as I do." She says wrapping her arm around Matt's waist kissing Alyssa's cheek before Andy crawled over to them joining his family.
Gabby and Matt arrived to the hospital a short time later after her parents arrived to stay with Alyssa and Andy. The time went by quickly as the nurses came in and out of the room prepping Gabby for her c-section. Once inside the operating room once Gabby received her spinal Matt was invited into the room as he sat next to Gabby's head as they lifted the sheet to create a barrier when they were getting started.
"No going back now." The doctor teases before he gets to work.
Matt sat so nervous afraid to look anywhere but the floor.
"Baby you run into burning buildings for a living but you are more terrified in here."Gabby whispers to him as he smiles giving her a quick kiss being unable to disagree.
"It's a girl." The doctor holds up baby A as she starts wailing, and Gabby and Matt start crying at the sight.
A minute later the doctor holds up baby B now." It's another girl." He announces again.
"Two girls ." Gabby cried out laughing.
"I have just become out numbered by four of the beautiful girls I could have ever Imagined." Matt spoke of his now three daughters and wife, as he kisses her with his own tears falling.
A few minutes later two different nurses walked over to Matt with little pink bundles in their arms." You ready daddy?" They ask placing each baby in both his arms.
Gabby and Matt just stared at the two sleeping girls in his arms as their smiles started to hurt from being so happy.
" Welcome to the world Sophia and Juliana Casey." Matt says looking down at his perfect growing family.
