gets a bit heated towards the end - nothing is described but the suggestion is there

6 months later

The months following the accident passed by quickly for the team in the FBI. Frank and Marla Hogan were both sentenced to long prison terms for the kidnap, trafficking and murder, thankfully the whole trial had gone to plan, and the judge had wasted no decision in handing down their sentences, both were going to die in prison. Jack and Sue had welcomed a baby girl, which, as per their agreement Jack got to name Elizabeth Judith Hudson after his grandmother and Sue's best friend, early test had shown that Elizabeth had no problems with her hearing as the doctors had first thought. Sue was a completely hands on mum, with a little help from Levi of course and their new service dog Luca. Jack loved being a dad, she had him wrapped around his finger the second she was born, Sue had always told him it was hard to resist the big dark brown eyes and now looking in to the same eyes, only on his daughter he could see she was right.

D and his family celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary, which also happened to be the night where Sue had, had 4 false alarms in her labour, but at least it had all given them several more stories to pass on to family members when the time come. They also celebrated the return home of their oldest daughter who had been at college in Michigan training to become a lawyer, it was another excuse for a big party, but this time it really was a double celebration as that was the night Sue did actually go in to labour.

Tara and Bobby had spent a few weeks travelling after the Hogan trial, they had gone to see Bobby's family in Australia and then to see Tara's in Montana, before surprising everyone with news of their own when they got back. They had bought a house not far from Myles and Lucy after falling in love with theirs, plus there was of course 'oh and by the way she said yes' as Bobby had put it when they announced their engagement on the evening of their house warming party.

As for Myles and Lucy they were enjoying their live together just as it was, they hadn't heard anything from Child Services regarding the adoptions yet, but the delay was giving Lucy the time she needed to properly grieve for her mother and grandmother. The funeral had been a hard day for her, Myles had to hold her tight on several occasions as he thought she would fall over or collapse, he had seen her cry before but that day it broke him to see how much she truly hurting inside, she had gone to bed that night physically and mentally exhausted. It did give her the closure she needed though and the weeks following she had more guts, fight and determination in her than he had ever seen in her before. She was determined that by the end of Summer she would be either using no crutches to walk or at least down to one. Myles had stuck with her as she fought and worked hard every single day. Whenever he wasn't working a case, he was stood outside the rehab room waiting for her, watching as slowly but surely she started to need the support less and less and now on the morning of her birthday she had rung him to tell him she had a surprise for him and little did she know he would have one for her later that day.

Myles stood at the rehab watching Lucy come towards him, she was still using her crutches, so he had wondered what the surprise was that she spoke of on the phone just an hour ago.

'How did it go today sweetheart?' He asked as he held the door open for her

Smiling and tossing the crutches towards Richard her physio she grinned 'Pretty well I'd say'

'Oh, Luce I'm so proud of you' Myles smiled picking her up into a hug 'You have worked so hard over the last few months. I'm definitely going to have to take you out tonight now it's a double celebration'

Lucy laughed 'You mean we're not having cheese sandwiches from the canteen for my birthday dinner'

'As magical as they are, I thought I would take you for the posh dinner I promised you, but I will let you choose where. I had an idea but I'm not sure about it'

'This may sound strange honey, but I would like to go to the boathouse'

Lucy looked at Myles and wondered why he was smiling 'The reservation is already booked for 8pm. I had thought about it but was wondering if it would be to painful for you, so that's why I asked, if you had said somewhere different, I would have cancelled.'

Lucy kissed him softly on the cheek 'I know what you mean, but it was always Grams favourite restaurant so in a way it would make it like she was here with us, plus it would be a wonderful way to have an early celebration for her birthday next week.'

'I'll take you back next week to so we can celebrate in style, just like Alice always did.'

Lucy hugged him tight, he really was just a big softy underneath

'You ready to go home sweetheart?' Myles asked after a few moments

'Almost I just have to wait for a new appointment for next week'

'Ok you wait I'll go get the car and meet you outside' Myles smiled as he kissed her cheek

Lucy stood waiting at the desk for her appointment, she couldn't believe how lucky she was to have Myles in her life, he had given her so much support over the past few months while she recovered, she knew it was his birthday coming up at the end of the month and wanted to get him something special to show how much she loved him, but she couldn't think what, it was going to take a lot of thought

'Here you go Lucy, see you next week' Oliver her other physio had smiled as he handed it to her breaking her from her thoughts

'Thank you, Oliver, yes you will'

Lucy continued to think as she headed outside, what she would like to get him was an engagement ring, but Myles was traditional he would want to be the one to ask her. She began to list the things he loved in her head, gardening, art, music, travelling, skiing, astrology, it was thinking of the last one that she had thought of the perfect gift she would have a star named after him and one of his parents, he would love that she thought to herself as he pulled up alongside her she couldn't help but smile as she got in

'What are you smiling at?' Myles asked seeing the big grin on her face

Not wanting to give her plan away she just kissed his cheek and simply said 'I have you, how could I not smile'

'That is going to buy you not only dinner tonight but also dessert and a walk around the lake'

'I can't wait'

Walking back into their home after the drive Lucy sat and opened gifts from the team and her sister while Myles popped into the office to do some paperwork, Lucy was back in work but for now at least she was only doing 3 days. It also meant that she could order the stars for Myles' birthday with out him knowing and a weekend away for them both so she could give them to him.

'All finished' she called out as she heard him come through the door

Walking over to her he kissed her cheek gently and placed the bouquet of red roses in front of her 'It is, happy birthday again my love'

'They are gorgeous thank you Myles' Lucy smiled taking them from him, 'You've spoiled me so much today, a necklace, earrings, the photo album, dinner and now these, thank you my love' she kissed his cheek as she stood in front of him

Placing his arms around her he smiled 'I'm going to spoil you every chance I get'

Placing the roses on the sofa Lucy melted in to him as they kissed deeply, their tongues melting into each others, her hands brushed over his waist, this time there was nothing stopping them, jumping into his arms she wrapped her legs around him, they both wanted the same thing, the kiss never parted as he carried her to the bedroom leaving a trail of clothes behind them.

2 chapters definitely left - maybe 3 as I haven't decided whether to do the third as part of the story or as a one shot addition
