The time was around 3:34 as Tomoya, Nagisa, Sunohara and Sakura made their way to the Reference Room. The weather for the day was rather gloomy with the dark skies raining. "Whoo!" Youhei blurted, raising his hands up, "Here's to another day at Yukine-chan's!"
"I'm surprised you can be so enthusiastic despite what happened yesterday," Sakura noted. "It's not everyday you're threatened by gangs members."
"...I'd prefer to not really speak of it." Sunohara's mutters.
"I'm guessing that's why you're so listless." Tomoya says.
"Well, yeah. Especially after what happened, I haven't been nothing but worried."
"Maybe visiting Miyazawa-san will make you feel a bit more calm." Nagisa said.
"Let's hope so."
Tomoya walks ahead in the hall and opens the door. He let's the others in and heads in, closing the door. "Hey."
"Welcome, everyone... I'll get your tea ready." Yukine got up from her seat and to the counter behind her. She took four cups and poured out recently made tea and served to her upperclassmen. "Please enjoy..."
"Thank you." Sakura took her cup and sipped it. "...This actually does make me feel a bit better."
"That's Yukine-chan for you." Sunohara says
"Huwahh..." Yukine yawns. The four look at her.
"Didn't get much sleep last night?" Tomoya asks.
"It's that noticeable? I'm sorry."
"Don't you have some charm to help you get a good sleep?" Nagisa asks.
"It's not that I don't..." Yukine trails off. She needs off to a shelf and places the book in front of Okazaki and Nagisa. Sunohara and Sakura stand and look at it from behind them.
"'How to get a good sleep. Use someone's lap as a pillow and you'll have a good peaceful sleep'." Nagisa read the words from the book, "I see."
"That really isn't much of a charm." Tomoya mutters.
"I used to have my brother do it for me when I was younger." Yukine says.
"I know," Nagisa looks from Yukine to Tomoya, "How about using his lap?"
"Eh? Are you serious?"
"I can't possibly do such a thing." Yukine says. Despite Yukine's reluctance, Nagisa sets up three chairs, with Tomoya sitting at the one to the way left, and Yukine on the right. An empty chair sat in between them.
"It's fine, Miyazawa-san."
"But I'm afraid you might get jealous." She replied. There were seconds of awkward silence between Yukine and Tomoya. "...If you insist." she said, looking at Tomoya. "I'll be using your lap."
"Y-Yeah..."
Yukine laid her head on his lap and quickly drifted off to sleep. "She's sound asleep." Nagisa noted.
"Don't you feel anything seeing this?"
"...To be honest, I'm a little jealous. But when I see her face, I can tell she's really tired."
Sakura looks at Sunohara. She and him were off at the side of Tomoya. He had little smile on his face as he looked at Tomoya and Yukine.
"...Don't tell me that you wish she was using your lap." Sakura quietly says, pouting.
"Huh? What are you saying?" Sunohara replies in the same volume as her. "That's not what I'm thinking at all. I was thinking... If we were to do that."
"O-Oh..." Sakura turned red on the face and looked away. "...I actually wouldn't mind that..."
It remained silent in the Reference Room for a while. Sometime passes and Yu arrives. Yukine also wakes up. "Sorry, I actually fell asleep way longer than I thought I would..."
"I don't mind." Tomoya replies.
"Next time you can use my lap." Said Yu.
"Yu, what are you doing here?" Sunohara asks.
"I came to see Yukine-onee-chan." He replies.
The window suddenly opens and Sudou came, looking more beaten up than he did with his last entrance. "Y-Yuki-nee!" He yelps. She quickly brought him in and patched up his wounds.
"Sudou-san, did you get into another fight again?"
"Yes...but the most dire news is that they think that he Kazuto-san." Sudou said, pointing to the blonde boy.
"What? They think Sunohara-san is my brother?" Yukine gasps.
"Yeah. They think he's out of the hospital and now that he's out, they think they have no chance of winning. That's why they've panicked and snuck over to our side...this was never so supposed to happen."
"But it's all a misunderstanding." Nagisa said.
"Yeah, it was Tomoyo who beat them up yesterday-"
"Miyazawa." Tomoyo walks into the Reference Room. "Regarding yesterday.
"Crap! I'll see you later, Yuki-nee!" Sudou departed through the window upon seeing the junior.
"Looks like I came at the right time..." Tomoyo mutters, looking at Yu who was hiding behind Sunohara. "I really need to ask you guys some things."
"...Okay. I'll explain the matter, Sakagami-san." Yukine says. Tomoyo and the others sat the table as Yukine and the others explained their situation.
"So you guys got caught in another mess?" Tomoyo says.
"We didn't choose to be in it." Sunohara said.
"It's because you pretended to be Miyzawa Kazuto." Yu said. Sunohara gulped.
"Tomoyo's eyes widen. "Miyazawa Kazuto? I'm familar with that name. I heard a rumor back when I fought that he was the only one who could fight me face to face."
"Wow, Youhei. I guess you're not the only one to try and fight her." Sakura nudges him.
"Please don't bring that up..." Sunohara muttered.
"I won't bring this matter up in school this time. But.." Tomoyo trails off.
"But...?" Yukine repeated.
"The other day I heard from a member of a student council from another school that many fights have been occurring in this city recently. Soon enough, the police will be involved. Here's my advice: stop being fools and be friends, otherwise, you'll all suffer."
"...I understand."
"I hope you guys can do something about this." Tomoya scoots out her chair and stands up, and leaves the Reference Room. Proceeding that, Yukine takes Yu and leaves. Tomoya and his friends follow her, and they head to the hangout. There they meet the members of the gang. They were all bruised and hurt from the recent fight mentioned by Sudou.
"Those bastards! I'll kill them!" One guy yells.
"I know, let's go over there and attack their hangout!" Another guy says.
"Yeah, let's go and do that!"
"Yeah!"
"Miyazawa," Okazaki turns to the second-year, concerned, "When will your brother be released?"
"Kazuto-san can stop the fight, right?" Nagisa said.
Yukine looked at her fellow gang friends and suddenly grabbed and umbrella. "Where are you going?" Yu asks her.
"I'm going to go and talk to them!" She says and heads out the door.
"Miyazawa!" Tomoya calls out to her, but she doesn't stop or respond. He too grabs and umbrella, and heads out, "You guys wait here!" And like Yukine, he was gone.
Some time passes by. Sunohara and Sakura were at the bar drinking juice when Tomoya and Yukine arrive. "We're back," Yukine proclaims
"Where did you guys go?" Sudou wondered.
"We went to Sasaki-san's place. And we tried talking them out of fighting because of what would happen if we kept on..." Yukine trails off.
Tomoya took over for Yukine, "We've gotten word that from our student council that if you guys were to keep fighting, you'll both end up getting hurt."
"And then?"
"...We came up with an agreement to settle it." Yukine hesitates for a second, "...I agreed to Sasaki-san in having a one-on-one fight."
"A one-on-one?" Sudou responds.
"Why did you agree on that without telling us?" Tajima asks.
"Sorry...that was the only choice that I had in the situation." Replied Yukine.
"The time is tomorrow evening, by the river." Explained Tomoya.
"But Kazuto-san can't fight. We have to send a substitute..."
"Will they agree to that?"
"Hey." Yu spoke up. "Don't they think that Sunohara-san is Miyazawa Kazuto?" Yu says, and everyone quickly looked at the blonde.
"Eh?" Sunohara put his drink down and looked at everyone.
"Yeah, you can't be serious-" Sakura tried to speak, but her voice was overshadowed by the shouts of the guys. Tajima goes to Sunohara, placing his hands on his shoulders.
"You'll do perfect as his substitute!" He says.
"You're joking!" Sunohara responds.
"W-wait. Sunohara-san has nothing to do with us..." Miyazawa tried reasoning, but they didn't take heed to her.
"Yeah, please, don't make him do this!" Sakura pleaded, grabbing Sunohara's arm.
"What makes you think I'm good enough?!" Sunohara exclaims.
"You were bragging yesterday about how you took out four guys at once." Yu says.
"Four at once?" Sudou remarks, surprised.
"You'll definitely be good as his substitute!" Tajima yells.
"Wow, Sunohara." Yu's sister spoke in amazement. "They usually say to 'not judge a book by it's cover', but you're amazing."
"Sunohara Aniki. Please lend us your strength!" All the other members bow to him.
Sunohara looked at the guys bowing to him. He gets off his seat and lifted his cup to them, "I'll do it... But can I get a refill on this first?"
Soon, after reculantly accepting Kazuto's gang's request, they all leave the bar and head up a hill. It had a bench and good view of the city.
"Are you really going to fight, Sunohara-san?" Nagisa asks, concerned. "I really don't think fighting is good..."
"I'm sorry. They're not bad people either, but when two gangs are in a city, they can't help but brawl. Unless everyone is happy, no one is truly happy. They're all nice people... Yet why does this happen...?" Yukine mutters, taking her bag and stand up from the bench. "...I'm very sorry, everyone. I'll be heading home now." With that, Yukine silently walked off.
"Miyazawa-san..." Nagisa says in a low voice.
"She'll he fine." Tomoya assures. "Let's head on home." The four if them leave the hill and head back down to the streets. As they got to an intersection, Sunohara and Sakura head down another road.
"I'm going to be fighting the boss of a gang, huh? It almost seems unreal. As they were walking Sakura suddenly stops. Sunohara stops walking to, and looks at her, "Sakura?"
"You actually are going to do it? You're going to fight Sasaki?"
"...That's what it came to. I know it may sound a bit out of my league, but I'll probably be fine."
"Fine? You're not going to be! You may have fought Sakagami, and the Soccer Team, but this is really different! You can just skip the fight tomorrow or something. Just don't get into it."
"I can't do that. Yukine-chan and the others are counting on me. And besides, the other gang is expecting something. If I don't then what will happen?"
Sakura stared at him, "B-But...this is just not right..."
"I know, I know. But what can we do? I impersonated Miyazawa Kazuto... And got them into this mess..."
"I-I know... But...!"
"Let's just hope for the best, and try not to think about it." Sunohara made an about face, "Come, I'll drop you back to your place."
Saturday comes and as soon as the day of class ends, Tomoya, Nagisa, Sunohara and Sakura head on to their homes as they waited for the time of the fight. At around 6:30 in the afternoon, they arrive at the river bank on their side of the town. There, Yukine and her gang were present, along with Yu, and his sister. On the other side of the riverbank was the other gang. The river separating the two gangs was shallow at this time. In the shallow waters, only few packs of land are visible.
"So we're actually here now, huh?" Sunohara says, his eyes closed. "...It still feels too unreal..."
"...I can really say the same." Sakura replies, "...I really hope you defend yourself well."
"...We'll have to see."
"Hey, are you gonna keep us waiting?!" Tajima yells to the gang across from them.
"Wait till Sasaki arrives!" A guy across the river yells back.
Youhei places his hand on his chest and sighs deeply. "God, it feels like my heart is going to burst..."
"Sunohara-san, how about filling your stomach while you have the chance? I have something from my mom." Nagisa said, bringing up a basket in her hands.
"Sanae-san?"
"Yes. I said that you'll be having a very important fight so she made me bring this." Nagisa says, bringing our a shiny rainbow bread. "It's her newest creation. Super Hyper Rainbow Bread. The bread, for some reason, shot out colors of a rainbow as if it were light source.
"How is that bread?" Sakura covers her eyes to fend off the bright lights. "...Though the same can be said for the other things she has made..."
"You're right on the mark there." Tomoya agreed.
"And here's some jam made by her friend." Nagisa took out a jar that contained orange jam. "If you put this jam on Mom's bread, then you have the ultimate combination. Would you all like to try some?"
"We can?" Tajima responds, eager to try.
"Yes." Nagisa took the colorful bread she had and sliced it into many pieces, handing it Sunohara and the other members of Yukine's gang.
"Let's eat!" They all say in unison. They reached down to bite the bread but after only having their mouth touch the bread, they show a face of disgust and faint in unison.
"Are you guys okay?"
What's wrong everyone?!" Nagisa fussed.
"Please get a hold of yourself." Yu says.
"Sorry for the wait." Sasaki announces from across the river bank, his timing is great.
"Crap!" Tomoya utters.
"What do we do? Everyone's unconscious." Yu said with worry.
Sakura bent down to Sunohara's unconscious body. "...Youhei, please get up." She turns to Tomoya. "Okazaki, what do we do?" Tomoya looks at all the guys then turned the girls.
"I'll go on ahead." He proclaims, taking off his tie and head down the river.
"W-What? O-Okazaki!" Sakura yells.
"Are you serious?!" Yu remarks.
"No time! Just watch Sunohara and the others!" Tomoya said before continuing to work down to where Sasaki was at.
"Okazaki-san!" Yukine yells his name, but it did nothing.
In the middle, down of the riverbank, Tomoya met up Sasaki. He was man, towering the height of Okazaki. He had black hair, and wore a black coat and black pants, similar to the getup of his own gang members. "What is the meaning of this?" he asks Okazaki.
"There's been a mistake. That guy up there isn't Miyazawa Kazuto. Sorry, but you'll have to do with me."
Sasaki stared at him. Back at the top of the riverbank on Yukine and the others could do nothing but watch.
"...Okazaki." Sakura said his in concern as she saw him in front of Sasaki. "Please hang in there..."
"What do we do?" Yu said s held onto his sister. "We can't do this without Miyazawa Kazuto-san."
"Your brother won't come out no matter what?" Yu's sister asks Yukine. Yukine just stayed silent.
"...So he can't?"
"I'll be right back. I have to get my brother." Yukine proclaims and heads off.
"Miyazawa-san?" Nagisa calls out to her, but she doesn't stop.
The fight in the riverbank started. Sasaki pulled off the first hit by suddenly headbutting Tomoya, knocking him back. "Fine. I'll play with you for a bit."
Tomoya regained his posture, "Thanks a bunch!" He charged toward with a punch using his right arm. Due to his bad shoulder, he misses and Sasaki proceeded to punch him. He punches him the stomach and then on his chin.
"That's right, get him!" Sasaki's gang cheered.
Despite the heavy punches Tomoya got, he kept himself up. He tried to hit back, but he was quickly hit with two punches to his face. "Tomoya-kun!" Nagisa shouts in worry.
"Hang in there!" Yu shouts.
"Hey, do you have a bad right shoulder?" Sasaki asks Okazaki. There was a distance of a few meters between them.
"I do." Tomoya responds, charging at him, "But you don't need to hold back!"
"You don't need to tell me!" Sasaki dashes towards him, punching him in the face, knocking Tomoya back. He grabs him and kneed him in stomach, and pushed him. Just as Tomoya regained his posture he gets punched into the shallow water of the river. While he was still down, Sasaki got into the shallow waters and attempted to kick him, but Okazaki kept himself mobile and avoided the kicks.
Dodging the kicks, Tomoya got back onto his feet, and dodged a punch thrown at him by Sasaki's right hand. He however, uses his left hand and punches Tomoya. He grabs him, takes him down, gets on top of him and proceeded to punch him more. Sasaki brought hands together and striked down on Okazaki's head. The impact caused a large splash of the water.
"Tomoya-kun!" Nagisa shouted, tears coming from her eyes.
"..." Sakura looked at Nagisa and then turned back down in the river. It seemed that the fight was done, but it wasn't. With Sasaki thinking it was over, his guard was down, and Okazaki punches the gang leader in his face, knocking him down.
The time soon reached 7:00 and it became dark. Yukine was still gone, and the fight was still going on. Yu was still by his sister, Nagisa was sitting down looking at the ground, and Sakura was still by Sunohara's side, watching Okazaki fight. The two charged at each other after a moment's break. Sasaki punches Okazaki in the face. Okazaki was knocked back again, but controlled his footing, and used his left hand, throwing a punch into his opponents gut. They both fell down onto the ground.
"...You're one tough guy." Sasaki says. Tomoya tries to get up. "Enough. Just rest." Saying that, looks behind and saw Sunohara and the other guys getting up.
"...You're finally up." Sakura said, helping off the ground.
"Are you okay?" Nagisa ask him.
"Yeah..." He rubbed his head and looked down where Okazaki was at. He notices him in pain. "What? Okazaki! What happened?!" He yells and charges down the hill.
"No, wait!" Sakura yells.
"What did you do to him?" Sudou follows him.
Tajima gets up. "Everyone follow him!" He yells and runs down the hill. The other guys follow.
"Everyone, wait!" Nagisa yells.
"Stop, Sunohara!" Tomoya yells at him. They however, continued to run. Sasaki's notices them running down and they need down to.
"Stop! Don't come!" Sasaki yells as well.
But they all stopped moving upon seeing a figure who appeared to Miyazawa Kazuto at the top of the hill. Everyone looked at him. He had blonde hair, and a white headband on his forehead. He wore a red jacket and white pants.
"What? What's going on?" A guy from Yukine's gang remarks.
"So you snuck out of the hospital, huh? As the rumors say, you've got balls, Miyazawa Kazuto!" Sasaki shouts, getting up on his two feet. He begins to run and so does Kazuto. They both meet down at the hill. But as Kazuto threw a punch at Kazuto, it was just Yukine wearing a blonde wig. She falls down on to the ground.
"Miyazawa?" Tomoya says in surprise.
"...I'm not done!" Yukine says, in a rough voice. She gets up and runs to Sasaki and tried to hit him, "I'm Miyazawa Kazuto!"
"Stop! What are you doing?" Sasaki held her swinging arms.
"Let go! Let go!" Yukine yelped.
"When did she...?" Nagisa wondered.
"She went saying she had to get her brother, didn't she?" Yu says.
"...So what is this then?" Sakura looks at Yukine.
"Let go!" Yukine yells. Sasaki releases her and Tomoya restrains her.
"Stop it, Miyazawa!"
"Don't get in my way!"
"Stop it, Yuki-nee!" Tajima chided.
"That's enough now." Sudou joins in.
Sasaki looks down at her. "Why is she doing this?"
"..." Tomoya faces him, "You dumbass!" He yells. "'s to stop you guys, of course! Because the only way to stop the fight is for him to come out, right?! That's why she dressed up as her brother, don't you get it?!"
"Why do we have to fight? Why? What does it take...what does it take?" The whimpering of Yukine continued as she spoke. "Please, don't fight anymore. I'm sure my brother wishes for that, too..."
The next day, Sunday, everyone meets up with Yukine. They meet her at the town's graveyard. And see her at a grave. On it was the name engraved, 'Miyazawa Kazuto'. Along with Yukine's gang, Sasaki's own comes too.
"So that's the reason." Tomoya looked at the grave. Yukine washed her brother's grave and then she began speaking.
"For the longest time, I was afraid of my brother and his friends.
"But after seeing Sudou-san and Tajima-san cry at his funeral, I wondered...
"'Why didn't I try understand his way of life more?'
"That's why I mustered up courage to get to know everyone.
"At first it was scary, but little by little, you let me in the group.
"And being with you all made me feel like I was laughing at Kazuto Nii-san.
"My brother wished for fights until the very end.
"But if the truth of his were to be revealed, we thought Sasaki's-san's group would come against us.
"That's why we talked matters over and over to keep my brother's death a secret.
"It was my brother's wish to be rid of fights from this city.
"I wanted to realize that...no matter what..
Everyone, including Sasaki's gang bow towards the grave in respect. The issue was solved and Yukine smiled at the sight. "I'm sure Kazuto Nii-san is happy right now."
The following day, Yukine meets up with her four upperclassmen at the school roof.
"I feel at peace now. It could be that I've finally accepted as of what happened to my brother. I owe it all to you guys, thank you very much." She looks at each of them, "Are you all familiar with this city's legend?"
"Legend?" Tomoya responds.
The moment something good happens or a moment of happiness is experienced, an orb of light appears. No one knows what they are, but what is certain is that those lights are taken as symbols of happiness And if you obtained one, any wish can be granted."
"Tomoya-kun, isn't this Misae-san's story?" Asked Nagisa.
"Yeah."
"But it looks like less and less people are seeing them now."
"So the light that Okazaki says he saw is that?" Sunohara asked.
"It's probably because Okazaki-san is special." Said Yukine.
"Me? What do you mean?"
"I'm sorry, I'm not so sure of anything anymore. But you're still you, Okazaki-san. My important friend. You're all my important friends. I'm really a blessed person, I'm supported by many people. Kazuto Nii-san. Thank you."
