Rose's Guide to Messing with Raven, Part 1
"Azarath Metrion Zinthos…Azarath Metrion Zinthos…"
Despite the fact that she had been meditating for over an hour, Raven was positive it wouldn't be enough for today's activities, which would probably devolve into shenanigans on the part of a certain girl. It wasn't for the lack of trying to ensure complete control, it was an odd mixture of apprehension and nervousness with a little excitement that kept her on her toes. This was an old activity with a new addition to it, which only mean trouble. There was absolutely no reason for Raven to believe that Rose wouldn't mess with her about her and Garfield's relationship, let alone not tease her with sexual innuendos. Raven just knew she was going to end up with a colossal headache today.
But maybe she was just being paranoid.
Pft, yeah right. Rude snorted.
Raven ignored this and continued her mantra. She needed as much control as she-
Beep beep beep-
Raven opened one eye and looked at the clock on her nightstand. Her time was up already for meditating. Rose would be here before too long.
With a sigh, she unfolded from her lotus position and floated back to the floor. She flicked a finger at the alarm and it shut off. Another flick brought her communicator from beside the clock and she dialed in Garfield's frequency.
Several minutes of ringing later, he picked up. "Ugh…hello?"
"Gar, I'll be leaving before long, so I'm going to bring Emelia to you." Raven said as she walked over to the sleeping child and nudged her awake. Emelia grumbled something and rolled over.
"Mmmm…Mkay." Garfield yawned on the screen, revealing (for once) all four of his sharp canines. Raven marveled at the fact that he could stay up so late playing games yet get up so easily in the morning as she cut the line and tossed the device onto the bed.
Figuring that it might take a few minutes for Emelia to wake, Raven decided to change out of her nightclothes and into something a little more fitting for the outing. Her black Meh shirt and a pair of blue jeans would work just fine. By the time she was done, however, Emelia still hadn't gotten up. Raven rolled her eyes and scooped the sleeping child up in her arms and left her room.
Twenty minutes alone with Rage says Garfield went back to sleep. Rude chuckled as Raven reached Garfield's hallway.
You're on! Brave shouted.
What's wrong with spending time with me? Rage asked.
…

…
…
…
That wasn't rhetorical!
Raven, ignoring them, knocked on her boyfriends door. "Gar? Are you up?"
She heard a muffled 'yeah, hold on' through the door, though within several moments she heard a loud metallic thud, following by some colorful cursing. His pain was quite evident.
"Gar? Are you okay?" She called out, shifting Emelia to her other arm as she phased through the door. "What did you-" She froze like a deer in the headlights, her eyes wide and her body halfway through the door.
It wasn't because he was shirtless, she liked that. His muscles were rather nice to look at.
It wasn't because his hair was mussed in an oddly attractive bed head sort of way.
It wasn't because he was rubbing the back of his head and leaning over a little, his eyes clinched shut in pain.
It was, in fact, because his pajamas were on the bed next to him and he had one leg through a pair of boxers and uniform pants, both of which were around his ankles.
….
Ohhhh myyyyyy-
"Stupid bunk bed." Garfield grumbled.
Raven backpedaled out, silent as the grave, and kept going until she hit the wall on the other side of the hallway. Her hand firmly clamped itself over her mouth to prevent any kind of outburst.
OhmyAzar I saw it! Desire shouted. I saw his-
No no no no no no no no no no! Don't say it! I'm not ready for that! Timid wailed. Throughout the tower, a multitude of light bulbs exploded, as did a number of miscellaneous objects in storage rooms, fourteen soap bottles in various bathrooms, two flower vases, and six windows on that floor.
The hell I'm not! I have all the needs of a healthy growing girl! Desire snapped as she rattled her chain. If you think-
TWACK! THUD!
The shaking stopped, as did the destruction of fragile things throughout the tower. Raven closed her eyes and exhaled before chanting her mantra once more, allowing the feelings of embarrassment and desire to dissipate. This day was already shaping up to be a complete disaster.
There's got to be a healthier way to deal with this… Knowledge sighed.
I dunno, I enjoy knocking them out. Makes it quieter in here. Brave chuckled.
Raven ignored them. "Azarath Metrion Zinthos…Azarath Metrion-"
"Heya Rae!"
She opened her eyes and found a dressed Garfield standing in his open doorway, a weak smile on his face.
"Took you long enough." She said monotonously as she looked away from him. The image of his body was burned into her brain and she didn't need to risk waking Timid or Desire. The tower might not survive it, amongst other things.
"Heh, yeah sorry about that. I kinda tripped while changing and hit my head on the bunk bed." He chuckled.
"I don't understand why you sleep in a bunk bed, especially if you're going to hit your head."
He shrugged. "I like sleeping up high."
Raven, still not looking at him directly, simply nodded and presented the still sleeping Emelia to him.
"You okay?" Garfield asked as he saw this and took the sleeping girl. It wasn't like Raven to avoid his eyes.
"I'm just a tad frazzled about today." Raven half lied. "I'm not exactly thrilled about spending time with your ex."
Garfield winced. "You could just say no, ya know…"
I would, except that Starfire already guilt tripped me into accepting... Raven thought as she shrugged. "I already said yes, so I'll grit my teeth and bear with it. Even though-"
"Rose is, well, Rose." Garfield finished for her. "Trust me, I know."
And I know you slept with the little silver tongued trollop and that makes me loathe her very existence!
Raven was more than a little surprised to hear the voice of Jealousy after all this time, but she didn't mentally respond to the irate emotion. Instead, she shrugged again.
Garfield frowned. Raven was shutting him out, which wasn't a nice feeling. The problem was that he had no idea how to cheer her up. He already said that she didn't have to go and she shrugged it off. Now he had to think of something to make her feel better.
Unfortunately for him, he was just sleepy enough for good ideas to escape him completely.
He let out a soft sigh as he turned back and went in his room, depositing Emelia on the bed next to Mister Spooky. He paused and stared at the doll for a moment, remembering the convention they attended. That had resulted in their first kiss and it made him smile. Raven's lips were so soft and-
Lightbulb!
He knew just how to make Raven smile, both now and later.
His smile only grew as he turned back and exited the room. Raven was still standing there, her arms crossed under her breasts now as she glanced up at him.
"What are you so-"
Raven's words were lost as Garfield crushed his lips to hers, pinning her to the wall and stealing her breath. Between the locked lips and his overwhelmingly affectionate emotions, Raven was seeing stars within only a couple of minutes.
And by the time it was over, she had temporarily forgotten the day ahead of her.
"What…was that about?" She gasped, shaking her head of his emotions.
Garfield already had a cheesy line ready, one he had filched from a B-rate romcom he had seen a while back. "That, babe, is me saying good morning beautiful."
His smile only grew when she blushed and muttered good morning to you too as she looked away. He chuckled to himself. Heh, got her good that time.
"I, uh, better go get Starfire. Rose said she would pick us up." Raven said distractedly. She took several steps away before she hesitated and came back to grab his hand and pull him along.
"Oh? Am I going now?" Garfield laughed.
"No, I just need to make a point." Raven muttered under her breath, even though she knew he'd hear it anyways. He laughed again and she couldn't keep the smile off her own face.
"Friend Raven! A glorious morning to you!" Starfire called out as they entered the common room. She was wearing a pink t-shirt and a pink mini-skirt, so she didn't really look much different than she did while in uniform.
"Good morning Starfire."
"Are you ready for the girls day out?"
"If I must be, yes."
Garfield chuckled at Raven's sarcasm. It had always been his favorite thing about her, the way she could respond to anything with funny sarcasm. He'd been able to pull off some really funny jokes using her as the punchline, not that anyone had ever realized he set himself up for them. It was all fun and games though, so he didn't mind being the 'butt' of the joke if others laughed.
"Hey, some black and orange sports car is trying to get in through the gate to the tunnel." Kid Devil called out from the main computer. "That a friend of y'alls?"
"Yeah, let it through." Garfield called back. KD waved and hit a button on the console, making the gate open.
"That is our friend Rose and we are having a girls day out!" Starfire said cheerfully as she flew over and landed next to the devilkin.
"Rose huh? I dated a chick named Rose once." KD chuckled. "How did you guys make friends with civvies? Most wouldn't come near me…"
"She used to do the dating of friend Beast Boy but Raven won his heart and stole him away from her!" Starfire gave him a big smile. "Fortunately she does not do the holding of the grudges and has remained our friend!"
KD rose an eyebrow. "Sounds kinda mellow, unlike my ex. Is she cute?"
Starfire hesitated and glanced at Garfield. "I am uncertain, for I do not find female bodies to be attractive in the way that males do. Perhaps friend Garfield could answer that?"
The boy in question could feel the stare (Read: death glare) that Raven was giving him off to the side and he knew that he had to tread carefully with his answer least he piss off his girlfriend. "That's, uh, not a question that's easy to answer dude, I dunno what kind of chicks you're into."
The stare lasted a few moments longer before Raven turned away to do something else. He sighed in relief.
"That's fair, I guess." KD replied as he turned and headed for the exit that lead to the staircase. "I'm off to patrol the northern sector, holler if you need me."
"Where's Rob?" Garfield asked as he looked around, not seeing his team leader anywhere.
"He is doing the waking of Martin." Starfire replied as she floated over to Raven and helped herself to some toast that the empath was piling up. Garfield noticed that Star's hair looked, and smelled, damp. She must have showered after getting up, which meant she would probably go to a hair salon. Poor Rae.
"There's a something for you to munch on until you make breakfast, Gar. Wake Emelia up in about thirty minutes and don't let her go back to sleep until nap time. Messing up her sleep schedule makes her stay up later. For lunch make her something filling, like a couple of peanut butter sandwiches or some fruit, not ramen. There's no sustenance to it and that will just leave her hungry again in an hour." Raven called out as she ate her fill of toast with grape jelly.
"Yes mama, right away mama." Garfield teased. Raven shot him a look that said don't sass me and he stuck his tongue out at her playfully. She rolled her eyes just as the common room doors opened to reveal Rose.
"Hey! You girls ready?" She called out as she sashayed up to the kitchen. She was wearing a black mini-skirt and an orange tank top that made no effort to hide her black bra straps. Topping this off was a pair of black sneakers and orange ankle socks and a little black purse.
She's always so color coordinated. Garfield thought idly.
"Oh look, Halloween came early again." Raven muttered, causing Garfield to cover his mouth to stop himself from laughing out loud.
"Glorious morning to you, friend Rose!" Starfire called out as she poured mustard onto her toast. "Would you like some breakfast?"
Rose took one look at the 'breakfast' in the alien's hands and shook her head. "Uh, no thanks, I already ate."
"Very well!" Star said before biting into her food. Rose made a face and turned to Raven.
"You about ready?" She asked.
"Almost." Raven replied with a slight smirk as she stepped over to Garfield. She wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him in for a deep kiss, not unlike what he did to her a short while before. Garfield wrapped his arms around her waist and glanced at Rose, who was scowling at them. When Raven pulled away, she had the smugest grin on her face and it took everything he had to not laugh out loud again.
"Be safe today, okay?" He said to Raven before kissing her on the nose. She looked down at her nose then back at him with a slightly puzzled look.
"When am I not careful?" She asked. He just chuckled and shrugged.
"You gonna tell Robin you're leaving?" Rose asked Star.
"He is already aware and we have already said our goodbyes for the day." She replied as the last of the toast disappeared into her mouth. "Please, let us go! I am very excited!"
"Well, if those two can quit sucking face then we can leave already!"
The grin never left her face as Raven turned to the other girls. "I'm ready, lets go."
Garfield simply shook his head and chuckled as he sat down at the table and watched the girls leave, hearing Rose call Raven a show-off. Raven merely laughed at her.
Maybe she will have a good day. He thought as he grabbed some toast and started to eat.
Minutes later, the common room door opened and both KD and Robin walked in. A sleepy Martin trailed behind them. Robin looked, and smelled, like he had just showered.
"Hey Beast Boy, have you seen my communicator laying around? I dropped it somewhere and can't find it." KD called out. "Can't exactly go on patrol without it…"
"No? Is yours different than everyone else's?"
"Well…its kinda burned…"
"Why does it seem like everything you touch bursts into flame, dude?"
"That only happened once!"
Everywhere I go
Bitches always know
That Charlie Scene has got a wei-
Raven sighed. Azar, kill me now.
Rap was not particularly high on the list of music that Raven enjoyed listening to. And truth be told, there wasn't even a list of music that she enjoyed listening to. She just wasn't a music person. Never had been and probably never would be.
And yet here she was, riding along in Rose's car and listening to this garbage that people called music. Seriously, who could like this crap? It was always shoot this, bang that, drugs this, money that. Complete and utter nonsense was what it was.
Raven could also tell that Starfire was very confused and faintly heard the girl asking why anyone would 'bang' Kitty. She sighed again, knowing another Earth terminology lesson would be required in the future.
Not that any of this stopped Rose from singing along as loudly as she could.
"Hoes want to be seen with me! I like their big thick ti-"
"Rose!" Raven said loudly.
"D-cups with extra filling! Take it out, let me lick it quickly! Call down its just a hickie!" The other girl sang along, oblivious to anything her passengers were saying. "I'll blame it on this whiskey, sipping, gets me tipsy!"
Raven's eye twitched and the radio abruptly turned off. Rose sang another two verses before she realized it was just her.
"What the fu- wait, did you do that Raven?" She asked as she glanced back.
"Yes. We were trying to get your attention." Raven replied monotonously, trying to curb her irritation with the other girl.
"Oh, why didn't you say something?"
"We did!"
"Oh. What's up?"
Raven ground her teeth at Ross's nonchalant attitude. "Is there, by any chance, something else we could listen to? This isn't exactly the type of thing superheroes listen to."
"Beast Boy listens to it." Rose replied as they made a right turn onto the street that lead to the mall.
Garfield listens to this crap? Raven thought. He damn well better not while Emelia is around!
"Friend Beast Boy has unusual tastes in music." Starfire said. "He has many of the dee of see's and there are few things among them that the rest of us will listen to."
Raven saw Ross's confused look in the review mirror and explained. "He's got a huge CD collection with a lot of stuff that Cyborg and Robin haven't heard of."
"Uh…huh…" Rose said uncertainly. "Well…we're not that far from the mall, so we only have time for one more song anyways."
"Greeaat." Rave said sarcastically. Rose merely smirked as she turned the radio back on and started pressing buttons. Seconds later another song came.
Sometimes
Something beautiful happens
In this world
Oh
Akon
And Lonely Island
You don't know how to express yourself so
You just gotta sing
I just had sex!
And it felt so good (felt so good)-
Raven groaned and smacked her head against the window.
"So…what happened to it?" Robin asked as he looked down at the exploded communicator in the dark hallway, along with broken glass from light bulbs.
Kid Devil hesitated. "I…I'm not sure…I put it on my belt when I left the room and then put headphones in my phone…I have no idea when it fell off…"
Robin looked at Beast Boy. "Did you make Raven angry this morning?"
The Changeling shook his head furiously. "Heck no, dude! She got a little cross with me last night but nothing that did this!"
"Hm…" Robin pondered this. Something had obviously triggered Raven's anger and the tower had suffered for it. Judging from Beast Boy's body language and his own confusion, he really wasn't to blame for the destroyed items they had come across as they had looked for Kid Devil's communicator.
But what had made her mad?
"I'll get a broom and dustpan." Beast Boy sighed. Robin nodded and took off for his office to look for a new communicator. Beast Boy would just have to clean on his own for a bit.
"Finally!" Raven all but shouted as she hopped out of the car. She heard Rose snicker and 'accidentally' telekinetically yanked on the seat lever to Ross's seat, sending the girl sailing backwards. Shutting the door, she heard a loud curse and grinned. Starfire got out with a puzzled look on her face.
"Friend Rose, is your new car broken?" She asked.
"No, its just salty." Rose said as she fixed her seat and got out. She shot a glare at Raven, who made no attempt at hiding her grin.
"It is made of salt?" The alieness asked, growing more confused. "But would it not dissolve when it rains?"
"What? No…"
Raven stifled a chuckle as they walked towards the mall entrance. Once inside, Rose took the lead and they went to the new store called Thrift For Days. The front windows held piles of stuff precariously perched atop one another, but the entrance itself was uncluttered and clean. There were rows and rows of clothes spread out before the girls, along with two dozens shelves in the back.
"Me and Star will start here, the books are in the back left corner Rae-Rae." Rose said, then pointed to the other side. "There are electronics on that side and various things in between."
"Don't call me Rae-Rae." Raven said as she looked about. There was a surprising number of people in there, which contradicted her thought that a thrift shop in a mall was kinda tacky and that customers would be scare. In fact, there were a handful of normal teenage girls off to the side looking through a stand a purses.
"Yeah yeah."
Raven rolled her eyes and made her way back towards the book section which, as it would turn out, was a single shelf set, four shelves high and probably fifteen foot long. Still, there were quiet a few books there and the sign read seventy five percent off all books-
She stopped and stared at one particular book, which she knew for a fact had only been out for three months. It was one on her to-get list and she had had issues finding it in stores. Why would it be here? Curiosity overwhelmed her and she grabbed it.
Upon inspecting it, she found a cup ring stain under the plastic cover and a full third of the book had been soaked in some purplish liquid. A quick sniff told her it was Kool-Aid. She couldn't help but to smile. She knew just the spell to clean that up.
And then another book caught her eye…
"I wish I had a sugar daddy too." Rose sighed some time later as she looked at the small mountain of clothes that Starfire was toting around. The alien princess had informed her minutes before that Robin paid her expenses and that she was free to buy what she wanted when she wanted.
Must be nice to be pampered like that. Oh well. She sighed once more before turning to call out to Raven. She hesitated because the sorceress was walking up with a pile of books floating behind her.
"I'm ready." Raven said in an almost bored tone.
"Did you even check the toys for anything for Emelia and electronics for anything for Beast Boy?" Rose asked, eyeballing the books.
"Yes. Didn't find anything worth getting them."
Rose couldn't help but to actually envy the other girls as they took their purchases to the counter. It was so easy for them to get stuff. She had had it beaten into her skull at a young age that excessive buying was pointless and a waste of time, so for the longest time she had never gotten herself anything more than the necessities. That had changed when Eddie came around, of course, but it had been a very slow change. She had given it up after he had disappeared.
She actually felt silly when she looked down at the pair of skinny jeans and tank top in her hands, the ones she couldn't decide if she really needed or not.
I wasn't actually going to do the cosmetic stuff, I had plans to get out of all of it. She thought. But…maybe I can be girly for myself, just for today.
This made her feel better as she took her clothes and got into line behind Raven, who was using her telekinesis to scan and stack the books in bags faster than the cashier could. In another lane, Starfire's clothes were going through a similar process via the same sorceress. Rose couldn't help but to marvel at Raven's precise control as both orders finished ringing up at the same time. Both girls paid and the bags disappeared into Raven's portals, presumably to their rooms in the tower. Rose shook her head at the absurdity of it and paid for her own stuff.
"Where to next?" Starfire asked her as they walked out.
"Now we do some real shopping!" Rose said with a smile. Starfire clapped her hands and giggled as Raven sighed.
"Um…daddy? Are you okay?"
"Did anybody catch the plate of the bus that hit me?" Garfield groaned as he sat up.
"Uh…those are bags of books…"
"Of course they are." He sighed. "Your mother has a problem. And great aim for someone who isn't even here…all I wanted to snag was the next Harry Potter book…"
"Spencers? I don't think we've been in here before…" Raven said uncertainly.
"I do not believe so either friend Raven." Starfire murmured.
Rose grinned. "Then you guys are gonna love it!"
Starfire and Raven exchanged looks before they followed Rose into the store. There was music similar to what they had listened to in the car playing over the speaker and what appeared to be mountains of dark clothes. To the immediate left were rows and rows of shirts spread upon the wall with all sorts of things on them, little piles of said shirts stacked neatly below at chest level. To the right were multiple shelves of paraphernalia of things Raven had never even heard of, particularly this creepy looking pickle with a face. In front of them were rolling shelves with more miscellaneous items, including what appeared to be a had with two drinking tubes attached to it and cup holders on the sides.
"Come on!" Rose called out as she disappeared deeper into the store. Starfire floated after her, leaving Raven to mosey her way down the left wall. Rows of shirts turned into rows of hats, one of which caught Raven's eye. It was a tad fancy looking, with a curved brim and a white ribbon around the center. The red feather poking out of it stood out amongst the black of the material it was made of. It looked kind of nice and she pondered what she would look like wearing it.
She didn't like that image, so she pondered what Garfield would look like wearing it.
It was…kind of nice.
Then she imagined him in a suit, the jacket slung over his shoulder and his sleeves rolled up. He had that cocky grin on his face and a toothpick in his mouth as he leaned against a light pole on a dark night. The feather matched his necktie quite nicely.
"Friend Raven, come look at this!"
Raven was jolted from her small fantasy and she quickly put the hat back, chastising herself for spacing out. She couldn't keep the small blush from her face as she made her way over to the other girls (pausing only to look at a small purse that was white with what appeared to be a stitch pattern to it, along with a grinning skeleton; it was oddly appealing).
"What is it, Star?" She asked as she got there. Her brows furrowed when she saw blush on her friends face and the grin on Rose's, so she turned to see what they were looking at. It appeared to be rows of boxes with colorful sticks in them. No, these weren't sticks, they were much too thick for that. Rods maybe?
"Whatcha think about this one Rae-Rae?" Rose asked as she pointed one out.
Raven looked at it, noting that it was green and had some odd lines on it. There also appeared to be some sort of mushroom on top of it. It almost looked like-
Raven turned the same shade as Starfire's hair once again and Rose started howling with laughter. In the back of the empaths mind, there was a scuffle and two thuds. Her embarrassment began to fade a little.
"I was not aware that Earth males grothrak could be so large." Starfire murmured as she looked at something far larger than what Rose had pointed out. "That…would be painful."
"They don't really get that big." Rose chuckled before pointing out another. "That's closer to the actual limit of the human body."
Starfire gave that one a skeptical glance too. "That is still much too large."
"Why did you bring us in here?!" Raven hissed as her embarrassment turned into agitation.
Rose grinned. "I figure with you and BB fooling around, you might want something to keep it spicy! Like these!"
Raven reflexively looked at where the girl was pointing and found a package with a pair of handcuffs, a rope, a rubber ball, and a small whip. She gasped at the absurdity of this and rounded on the other girl, only to jerk back as a box was thrust in her face.
"Looky Rae-Rae, this one comes with ten speeds!"
Raven did a complete 180 and stomped away, leaving a laughing Rose behind with an even more confused Starfire.
"Please, Rose, why is this grothrak attached to a pair of undergarments?"
"That's for two girls to use."
"…oh…"
Raven made her way to the front of the store, where she stood and chanted her mantra until she calmed down. She had a whopping five minutes to herself.
"Hey Raven?"
She groaned. "What, Rose?"
"I found a shirt for you, for real."
Raven sighed and turned around to find Rose holding up a black shirt. She lifted an eyebrow. "BJU? What university is that?"
"One that I'm one hundred percent Beast Boy will love to hear that you support." Rose said with a smile.
"Um…thanks?" Raven felt uneasy but took the shirt. It was on clearance, eight dollars, so that wasn't bad.
"Lets go look at the rest of the clothes here." Rose said as she grabbed Raven's hand and drug her along. Thankfully, she went around the inappropriate section.
But what she led Raven too could hardly be called clothes.
"This is all underwear…" Raven murmured as she looked at it all. There were so many ruffles and laces and bows!
"Yuuuuup." Rose said as Starfire floated up to look at something that was entirely too pink and frilly.
"What's the point in all of this?" Raven asked as she eyed a black corset.
"To look sexy for your man, duh!"
Raven rolled her eyes. "Clothes don't make a person more attractive, Rose."
"That speaks volumes about your fashion sense, ya know?"
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"It means that you don't know how to make your man unable to take his eyes off of you."
Raven quite visibly bristled. "Excuse me?!"
Rose, however, ignored her. "Its kind of weird though, considering that you run around in a swimsuit all day."
"I what?!"
"Your uniform. It looks like a long sleeve one piece swimsuit." Rose said. When she didn't get a reply, she glanced at Raven to find the other girls face contorted in confusion. "What? You never noticed?"
"I…no…" Raven said slowly. Knowledge, how did I not see this before?
We weren't exactly looking at it like that. Knowledge replied. And we're always wearing our cape, so…
Raven grunted in response, clearly unhappy with this new revelation. She needed to modify her uniform soon.
"Hm…"
Raven glanced at Rose, who was staring at her intently. "What? Going to insult me some more?"
"No, but I don't think this is the store for clothes for you."
"Gee, I hadn't noticed." Raven said sarcastically.
Rose shook her head. "No, I mean there's a different store that would work better for you. Get that shirt and lets go."
Raven sighed. "Fine. Starfire, lets…"
Starfire wasn't above them anymore. Both girls looked at each other, then around until they both spotted the alien princess checking out at the register. Both girls raised an eyebrow at her as they approached.
"Star…did you buy something?" Rose asked slyly.
"Yes." Starfire replied. "A corset and matching undergarments."
Raven's jaw dropped. "You can't be serious!"
"I am."
Rose laughed and hooked her arm through Starfire's. "Get yer shirt and come on Rae! Starfire, tell me more!"
Raven watched them leave, still shocked at Starfire's purchase. If she was buying that, did that mean she meant for Robin to see it?
She shook the thought from her head and turned to the amused girl at the register. She paused for a moment before she telekinetically grabbed the hat from before and set it on the counter before her.
It never crossed her mind to ask the snickering cashier what the letters on the shirt meant.
Back outside, Rose and Starfire were waiting for Raven.
"So you and Robin be getting busy, huh?" Rose teased the other girl.
"We are always busy, either with being hero's or parents."
"No…I mean you sleep together."
"Yes, we do every night."
Rose raised an eyebrow. "Every night? Don't you get tired?"
"No? That is what the sleep is for, is it not?"
Rose facepalmed. "Oh nevermind…"
Starfire giggled. "Fear not, friend Rose, I am not as naïve as one would think. To answer your question, yes, Robin and I are intimate."
"I'm a little surprised to hear that." Rose admitted. "I pegged you for the type to wait til marriage."
Starfire merely smiled at her. "We Tamaraneans feel emotions in a much deeper sense than Earthlings do. I was not unwilling to share myself with Robin when we first began the dating. I love him."
Ross's eyebrow rose again. "No hesitation?"
Starfire shook her head and Rose shook her own head in disbelief. True, she was a huge flirt, but even she didn't screw on the first date.
Not that she had been on many of those.
"So where is it that we're going to next?" Raven asked as she stepped out of the store, dropping her bag into another portal. Starfire's disappeared too.
Rose grinned. "Victoria's Secret!"
Raven's faced screwed up in thought. "Victoria's Secret? That's…oh. Oh no we're not-"
Her protests were lost upon deaf ears as the other two girls grabbed her by the arms and drug her along.
