Chapter 37
The Five Armies
Thorin's POV
It was just Azog and myself now. The elf prince had saved my life. He had returned my sword and killed an orc at the same time. I slowly started walk towards Azog.
This time I will make sure you are dead.
I ran and he swung a large rock at me. I managed to dodge his blows, he continued to crack the ice. Soon both of us were on an unstable piece. I slipped and rolled just he was about to kill me. I stood up and moved as the rock fell right in front of me. It was stuck. He looked at me and then he looked at something behind me. I would not turn my back to him. I saw the eagles go flying past. The Brown Wizard and Beorn were with them. While Azog was not looking, I picked up the rock and threw it to him. He caught it and I simply stepped off the ice. I watched him slide down and then sink into the water. He started to float past and I followed, I wanted to see him die. Once I was about half way to the waterfall, he opened his eyes and shoved the tip of his sword through my foot. I screamed in agony and he jumped through the ice. I fell to my back and managed to stop his blade with my sword. However, he was using all his weight to push towards me.
Forgive me Elena. I love you.
Elena's POV
I saw Thorin. Azog was over him, about to drive a blade into his heart.
"NO!"
Azog looked at me and gave me a sickening smile.
"Watch him die now little dragon!"
"Elena! Run! Find your brother and run!" Thorin shouted.
Azog laughed and I narrowed my eyes and went running forward. I slid down and slid across the ice, knocking into Azog.
"Elena!"
Azog looked at me as I slowly stood up. He was glaring at me and I just smirked.
"And who are you to stand against me?!" he growled.
I let out my hidden blades and smiled.
"A dragon, an elf and an Assassin, with a contract to kill you."
"By who?!"
"The people of Middle-Earth." I replied.
He roared in anger and I smirked and jumped Azog. I was trying to pin him down but he was too strong. He threw me against Thorin and we slid back. I was the one who fell over the edge.
"NO!"
I drove a knife into the ice and smiled at him. Then I saw Azog come up behind him. Out of the corner of my eye I saw blond hair. I smiled and took the knife out. I threw it into Azog's neck and Legolas caught me as I fell. I smiled at him and he set me down.
"You always have been useful to have around."
He chuckled and then looked up. I saw black blood inside the ice.
"Thorin."
He stood up on the edge and smiled at me. Thorin's sword was embedded deep in Azog's chest. I smiled and I ran up to him. I looked him over for any wounds or injuries. His foot was injured but he would live. I hugged him and kissed him, thankful he was alive.
"I love you so much!" I said.
He laughed and took my face in his hands.
"And I love you. My beautiful Assassin."
I laughed and he spun me around. He set me down and kissed me again.
"Thorin Oakenshield."
We separated and found Legolas there. He had a smile on his face.
"Take care of my friend." he said.
I smiled and ran to hug him. I kissed his cheek and put my hand on his shoulder.
"You saved both our lives today. I could never express my gratitude in words or actions."
He just smiled.
"I require no thanks beyond what you have already said."
I hugged him again. We made our way back to the mountain. Thorin's cousin Dain was waiting for us. Alejandro was there laughing with him. I smiled and Thorin took my hand.
"My cousin!"
Dain and Alejandro looked at us.
"Ah so this must be the lovely lass! You were right laddie, she is a rare beauty!" Dain said.
"That's my sister."
Dain walked forward and kissed my hand.
"A pleasure to meet you, Dain Ironfoot at your service."
I smiled and bowed.
"Elena Delevaga Oakenshield at yours and your family's."
He chuckled and clapped Thorin on the shoulder.
"~She will certainly bring handsome heirs into the family.~"
I smirked and Thorin looked at me.
"~I can understand you.~"
He seemed surprised and then he laughed.
"Ah! An elf who speaks our language. My cousin has chosen well."
Alejandro walked over to Thorin.
"You look like hell hermano."
Thorin chuckled and put a hand on his shoulder.
"I think tonight's feast and celebration will fix that."
"Aye a nice strong ale and meat off the bone!"
My stomach growled and Thorin smiled at me. Fili and Kili came running to us and I hugged them both.
"Are you both alright?" I asked.
"A little tired I think but we are both fine."
I nodded and hugged them again. The Battle of the Five Armies was over. Thorin came and took my hand. I smiled at him. I had everything I wanted, everything I never thought I could have.
