~Chapter Thirty-Seven~
~Kendall's POV~
Even though Jade and I were here with each other, we weren't really together. Yeah, she held my hand and we acted like a family, but I could tell her heart wasn't really into it. It broke my heart, but I really didn't have anyone to blame but myself.
"You okay?" James stepped up next to me. "You look upset."
"If you didn't know, Jade and I got into a bad fight yesterday."
"I kinda gathered that. What happened?"
"I really don't want to talk about it."
"Does it have anything to do how much time you've been spending with Ryan?"
"That's part of it." I looked at him.
"What are you going to do to fix this? I don't like this Jade, she's even scarier than before."
"I honestly don't know." I looked back over to where Gracie and Jade were.
"The first thing is you need to stay away from Ryan."
"We're just friends."
"But your wife comes first."
"I know." I ran my fingers through my hair. "I know."
"Get on your knees and beg her to take you back."
I just nodded.
"I mean it Kendall, you need to make up with her before she has your balls for lunch." He shook his head. "And you know she will."
Before I could answer him, Gracie ran over to me giggling.
"Come on Daddy, let's go feed the ducks. Mommy says she doesn't want to."
"Oh why is that?"
"Last time she feed them, she got bitten by one." She giggled. "But don't tell her that I said that."
"Secrets safe with me Baby Girl."
"Well, are you coming Daddy?"
"Coming Baby Girl."
She grabbed my hand and dragged me over to where Jade was standing. Jade didn't say anything to me, she just handed me a bag of bread crumbs.
I sighed and took the bag from her. There was so much I wanted to say but I knew this wasn't the time or the place for it.
"Let's go Daddy." Gracie grabbed my hand and pulled me over to the pound.
I shook my head and let her pull me over to the pound. I handed her the bag of bread crumbs and she just went to feeding the ducks.
"Here Daddy." She pulled open my hand and put some bread in my open hand. "Like this Daddy."
She bent at the knee and feed the duck in front of her. I did the same, she turned and smiled at me. I couldn't help but smile back at her.
"So Daddy, what are you gonna do to make up with Mommy?"
"I'm kinda drawing a blank what should I do?"
"Admit you were wrong and say you're sorry?" She shrugged.
"That's a start, but I have a feeling it's gonna take more than that." I kissed the side of her head. "I don't know what I am going to do."
"Don't worry Daddy, it will be okay. Mommy will get over it sooner or later."
"Thanks Baby Girl." I kissed the top of her head. "Why don't you go see if Logan wants to feed the ducks?"
"Okay Daddy, as long as you go talk to Mommy."
"This really isn't the time for this."
"Daddy."
"Okay, I will go talk to Mommy." I threw my hands up, I knew there was no arguing with her.
"Thank you." She kissed my cheek and then ran over to Logan.
I sighed and got up. I walked over to where Jade was talking to Alexa and Carlos. As I got closer Alexa and Carlos walked away. Jade half smiled at me as I sat down next to her.
"Hey."
"Hi."
"When we get back can we talk?"
"Sure."
"How's your hand?"
"It hurts like hell."
"Have you taken your pain meds?"
"No."
"Why not?"
"Because I don't want to slip back into old habits."
I just nodded.
"Are we going to be okay?"
"If I am to be honest, right now, I don't know." She looked at me. "I love you so much, but it hurt that you just threw that in my face like that."
"I understand."
"I really do want things to work between us, I just need to work things out in my head first."
"Okay, just so you know I'm not giving up either."
"I'd be worried if you did."
I just shook my head and laughed.
Maybe there was hope for us yet.
~Jade's POV~
When we got back to the venue I did everything I could to avoid Kendall. I knew we needed to talk but I really didn't want to right now. I knew it was going to make things worse just ignoring him, but I just couldn't talk about it right now. The wound was to new.
"Mommy, what are you doing?"
"Beating people up." I paused the game and looked at Gracie.
"Why?"
"Because I feel like it."
"Is it because you are really avoiding Daddy?"
"Now why would you say that?"
She just shrugged and looked at the floor.
"Gracie, do you know something I don't know?"
"I know lots of things you don't know, Mommy."
I just rolled my eyes and get the game controller down.
"So why are you avoiding Daddy?"
"I'm not, I just don't want to be around people right now, I'm tired and in pain."
"So would you mind if I sent Daddy in here then?"
"Yes I would."
"Why, because you are avoiding him?"
"Or it could just be because I am tired and my hand hurts."
"Okay Mommy, keep telling yourself that." She rolled her eyes.
"I love you Baby girl."
"Love you too." She leaned on me. "You know Daddy is really sorry for whatever he did."
"I know he is, I just need time to process things."
"You're not gonna leave are you?"
"No, we're not going to leave tour." I kissed the side of her head. "I made a promise and I intend to keep it."
"That's good." She yawned.
"Why don't you go lie down and take a nap."
"Are you gonna talk to Daddy?"
"Not right now, I may lie down and take a nap too."
"Okay Mommy." She slid off the couch. "I love you."
"Love you to Baby girl." I blew her a kiss as she headed for the bunks.
Once she was gone I picked the controller back up and un-paused the game and went back to kicking ass. It was the easiest way I could think of to get my frustration out without actually hitting anyone. Heaven knows Ryan has a huge target on her head.
"Momma Bear?" Logan called from the door of the bus.
"Come on up." I paused the game and tossed the controller onto the table.
Logan climbed up onto the bus and talked over and sat next to me.
"What's wrong?" I looked at him.
"How do you know something is wrong?"
"Because I know you." I rolled my eyes. "Plus, if you were okay you would have just walked up onto the bus. So what's going on?"
"Allie is stressed and I can't help but feel so helpless."
"Baby, you know when she starts something, she doesn't stop until it's done." I wrapped my arm around his shoulder. "All you can do is listen to her and help when she asks."
"I still hate it." He leaned his head on my shoulder.
"I know you do, but it's the way she's always been and will always be. There's not much you can do about it, but just hold on for the ride."
"That really doesn't make me feel better."
"Oh I was supposed to make you feel better? Why didn't you say so?"
"You are so funny." He rolled his eyes and nudged me.
"It's why you love me." I grinned at him.
"So what are you up too?"
"I was gonna take a nap, but if you wanna hide out with me, we can watch a movie."
"Okay, that sounds good."
"Awesome, I know just what we can watch."
"Let me guess the Avengers?"
I just grinned at him. He rolled his eyes, but got up to put the movie on.
"It's already in the DVD player."
"Of course it is. How many times have you watched it?"
"It's been a few days."
He just shook his head and laughed.
"I could make you watch all of the movies."
"No, no that's okay."
I just laughed and pulled down the blanket off the back of the couch.
After he got the movie set up, he sat back down on the couch behind me so I could lean on him. When I was comfy, I covered us with the blanket and leaned on him as a pillow.
Half way through the movie Logan started mumbling.
"What's wrong Logie?"
"I just don't get why you love this movie so much."
"It's simple really."
"Explain it to me."
"Caption, Thor, Stark, Banner, Hawke Eye, just a name a few."
"You just think they are hot."
"Yes I do, but that's beside the point." I looked up at him. "Why do you love Batman so much?"
"Because he kicks ass."
"And they could kick his ass, so I win."
"Whatever you say." He rolled his eyes.
"Pretty much." I grinned at him.
"Why do I put up with you?"
"Because you love me."
"Lucky I do. So lucky I do."
"You really are my rock, I don't know what I would do without you."
"You'd be lost, and you wouldn't have anyone to sick Gracie Lou on when you need alone time."
"So true. So true, you are a life saver."
"I know."
"Now shut up and enjoy the rest of the movie."
"I can pretty much quote the whole movie to you."
"That's because you are such a good friend. But really, shut up and watch the movie."
"Yes Momma Bear."
I rolled my eyes and turned back to the TV.
Not fifteen minutes later my phone started to ring. I growled and paused the movie, I wasn't happy that it was being interrupted again. But my whole attitude changed when I saw who was calling.
"Hello."
"Jade, it's Skylar."
"Is everything okay?"
"Yes, everything is fine." She laughed. "I just wanted to let you know that I'm pregnant."
"Oh God, for real?" I sat up shocked. "Wow, I didn't think it would work the first time around."
"It did."
"I just really can't believe this. Wow."
"Congrat to you and your husband."
"Thank you."
"Welcome. I am glad I could do this for you guys."
"I never thought this would really happen."
"Believe it."
"Again, thank you." I couldn't keep the smile off my face.
"Again, you're welcome. I will let you go share the good news."
"Keep me updated."
"You know I will. I will talk to you later Jade."
"Bye, Skylar."
She hung up and I just looked at Logan grinning.
"What?"
"We're pregnant."
"Again I ask what?"
"Kendall and I are pregnant."
"Wow, congrats."
"When he talked about this, part of me didn't think it was ever going to really happen. This is just so shocking."
"Well shouldn't you call Kendall."
"Right." I laughed and dialed Kendall's number.
I let it ring until it went to voicemail. I frowned at my phone as I hung up.
"I'm guessing he didn't answer." I just shook my head no. "He will call you back when he sees that you called.
"Yeah." I snuggled back into Logan's chest.
"Just watch the rest of your movie and you can hunt him down later, okay?"
I just nodded and covered us back up.
Before I knew it, I let Logan's heart beat lull me to sleep.
When I woke a few hours later, Kendall was sitting across from me, just staring at me.
"Hey, what's going on?" I sat up.
"What's going on with you and Logan?"
"Nothing, why? What the hell has gotten into you?"
"Ryan caught you and Logan together."
"If anything we just fell asleep watching a movie, that's all."
"That's not what she said." He crossed his arms over his chest.
"And you're going to believe her over me, aren't you? No matter what I have to say."
"She's made some valid points. You lied about coming on tour with us, what else have you lied about."
"You have to be fucking kidding me right now." I stood up. "Wow, I have no idea why you would think I would even cheat on you, let alone with one of your best friends." I shook my head. "And here I was getting ready to forgive you."
"Well you have been spending a lot of time with him lately."
"He's my best friend, why shouldn't I spend time with him. You're always with Ryan anyways."
"Whatever Jade, it's all about you, isn't it."
I just shook my head and walked away from him and off the bus. I was not dealing with this shit.
Thank God I came across Logan and Carlos before I saw Ryan, I might have just killed her and got it out of my way.
"What happened?"
"Kendall actually accused me of sleeping with you."
"What? Is he crazy?"
"Apparently the bitch came on to the bus while we were sleeping and then ran to Kendall and told him that we were up to something nefarious." I rolled my eyes.
"For real?" Carlos looked at me dumbstruck.
"For real, I haven't decided who I want to kill more, him or her."
"Her, we need him, unfortunately. Plus Gracie loves him."
"And so do I." I sighed and ran my fingers through my hair. "I'm going to have to call Ted and see what we can do."
"What are you going to do about Kendall?"
"Kick his ass." I laughed.
"Did you even tell him the good news?"
"What news?"
All three of us turned to see Kendall and Ryan standing there.
"Congrats, you're going to be a father."
Without another word, I walked away. That was not how I wanted to tell him, but I guess it was better than nothing. Stupid jackass had to ruin it all.
