"Gucci Gucci Fendi Fendi Prada, basic bitches wear that shit so I don't even bother"

I am going to hit him, I am going to knock him the hell out if he doesn't stop. I glared at the still childish teenager as he paced back and forth on the other side of Alianna's hospital bed, his dad offered him the same glare but he was oblivious he just kept singing the stupid song that I had never even heard before.

"Gucci Gucci"

"BRADY" The man who was usually so calm bellowed at his son making him jump and fall into the empty chair beside Alianna's bed, his face flushed with fear at the sudden yelling he was receiving. I had to say I was grateful, he was doing my head in. I said nothing just watched her angelic face as she continued to sleep, it had been two days of her being unconscious. Two days since she passed out in my arms, since they ripped her from me and took her for emergency surgery, two days since I stood in that hallway and listened to the heart monitors as they let out the long never ending beep telling us she was dead, two days since right before they called her time of death it began beeping again all on its own. She was a fighter, she told me once that she was weak but she wasn't, she proved that when she brought herself back, she fought on through it all and now she just needed to wake up. But she wasn't waking up. My eyes were stinging in exhaustion, I hadn't slept since the night before she disappeared a week ago, I hadn't eaten or drank a thing. Everything seemed so pointless without her being awake, without her being warm and awake to do it with me.

My eyes travelled up the tubes running from her cold skin, her mouth forced open by the tube that lay there helping her breathe, she was in a coma, at least that's what the doctors said. She had suffered blunt trauma to her stomach and lungs causing internal bleeding that had weighed down to heavily on her heart, she had died then she came back and they operated but she hadn't woken up. Her arm was broken and she was severely dehydrated when she got here. She was a mess, she had scratches over her arm and face, they were slowly fading as were the bruises on her neck but she look so unlike my Alianna it was hard to even remember how she had looked. All I could imagine was her lying in my arms with blood spluttering from her mouth, the way her heart slowly dimmed and her body fell ice cold. I needed her back but she wasn't coming back. I couldn't even cry anymore, I had cried all my tears and more, there was nothing left to let out.

The police were involved, Embry smashed her dad's car up against a tree to make it look like she was in a car wreck, they bought it but I think only because Charlie was in charge and he made sure to just go with whatever we told him to. The vampires who did this were dead, ripped apart but not nearly as painfully as they should have been.

My eyes stopped at hers, they didn't even flutter, she looked dead. The girls couldn't handle seeing her like this so they hadn't come by, the other guys were fixing up her bedroom ready for her to come home but by this point I was losing hope that she ever would go home.

"Brady why don't we go get some coffee, Paul try have a little sleep" Her dad stood up and shot me a sad knowing smile before dragging his son from the room leaving me to an even worse silence than when Brady had been singing.

I glanced back at my imprint, I wouldn't sleep even if I tried, I couldn't. Not with her like this so I leant forward in my chair, my hand that had been clenched in my lap slipped up onto the bed next to hers. I hadn't touched or been alone with her since she was brought here, I was too scared to touch her in case I hurt her but now she looked so lonely. I let my hand fall next to hers, I could feel the coldness of her skin even though we weren't touching.

"Ally" My voice cracked through its lack of use recently, I felt stupid talking to her, she couldn't hear me she was practically dead. Carlisle came by and told me she wasn't, that she was fully aware of what was happening around her but I didn't believe him, how could I when she looked like she did. "I don't know what I'm doing, I feel so stupid just sat here but I can't do anything else. Brady's been driving me crazy, you need to wake up to tell him off in the way you do, he only listens to you" I watched her face, hoping something would happen but it didn't, she didn't move one ounce. My voice cracked as tears filled my eyes, the burning sensation causing a lump in my throat and I let my head fall onto the bed beside where her hand lay. My voice was muffled against the bed sheets and I waited, nothing happened though, she didn't move in the slightest and I let the new tears come out.

The bed rocked as I sobbed into her sheets. I was such a failure at this imprinting thing, I had left her end up in hospital twice, both times she nearly got killed by utter assholes this time they succeeded. Jared was right, I was crap, I let them get her. My stomach dropped at the thought of Jared, I hadn't seen him since he saved her. I hadn't even said thank you to him or made up for our fight. He had saved her from being bitten, god knows what would have happened if he hadn't got to her when he had. Even so, she was still led here practically dead. I had lost my best friend and I was losing my imprint.

"You're so stubborn Alianna, why can't you just wake up or move or do something because right now I feel so useless, I don't know what to do, I can't save you, I can't help you, I can't do anything, I failed at protecting you and now I'm failing at saving you all over again. I feel like an idiot because all I want to do is cry, damn it your making me cry again and I physically can't cry anymore tears. Ally come on" I spoke into the now drenched bed sheets, my breath held on waiting for a movement but none came. It was useless.

"Damn it" I yelled and pushed myself from the chair to my feet and stormed to the window. My eyes fell over the grey car park, the weather was dull as always, rain fell softly down pattering on the windows and I let myself just stand there staring out in silence.

I stood in pure silence, tears rolling down my cheeks, it hurt to cry, my eyes were sore enough and these fresh tears only hurt more.

"Uh" A soft noise, the softest noise I had ever heard came behind me, if I weren't a wolf I wouldn't have heard it but I did, I ignored it thinking it just a nurse but it let up again, like someone was struggling. The heart beat in my ears became erratically stronger, it was a beat I had tuned myself in on for two days straight and it was suddenly beating faster. Alianna. I span around, my eyes falling on hers they were still shut but her mouth was twitching as if she was trying to close hers but couldn't because of the breathing tube that lay there, my eyes travelled to her hands, her fingers became moving only slightly but it was movement.

"Ally?" I asked wearily, part of me thought she would just flop to the side again but as I spoke her hand movements got stronger and her heart skipped a beat before thundering loudly like she did whenever she looked at me. "Ally I'm here baby, Ally open your eyes" I ran back beside her leaning over her small body as she wheezed and twitched, her mouth was still making struggled movements and as I lowered toward her I realised her breathing was laboured, the tube was blocking her.

"SOMEONE GET IN HERE" I yelled at the closed door, my hand reached for her buzzer and I pressed it over and over again in urgency. "Alianna come on, open your eyes baby girl, you can do it, open your eyes" They fluttered, her closed eyelids fluttered as if she was trying. "That's it baby" I cooed and continued pressing her buzzer. "SOMEONE PLEASE" I yelled louder this time and my free hand fell into her cold one, my grip was lose but hers tightened for a second before falling loose again, she couldn't hold her grip.

"Sir please stop pressing the buzzer" The door opened and an old grey haired nurse walked in giving me the stink eye, I shook my head at her and pointed down to Alianna who was still struggling against the tube in her throat, the nurses eyes widened and she turned back to the door sticking her head around it. "DOCTOR ROOM 201" She pulled her body back in and hurried toward the bed. "How long has she been doing this?"

"Only just, I was talking to her and she just started" My tears were still falling, this time not from grief but from overwhelming hope. The nurse looked up at me, her eyes shining in a knowing smile and I realised she was the nurse who had seen me in the hallway last night, she was on her way off shift and I had been sat outside the room crying. She told me that I should talk to Ally, that her being led in silence wouldn't help her, she needed a voice she loved but I hadn't believed her. I could see the smugness in her eyes and I couldn't help but smile back at her, she had been right, I had talked to her and she had fought against it.

"You see medicine and doctors can only do so much, in the end I believe that it's love that can save a person. You obviously care a great deal for this girl and her you, a person is treated with medicines but healed with love" The little old nurse spoke as she started doing vitals on Ally, she glanced back up at me and winked.

"I love her" I blurted out needing to let anyone who would listen know, I would shout it from rooftops as long as Alianna was alive and knew it.

"I can see that sir" The nurse smiled again and the door behind her opened, a young doctor ran in, a different one from the other times they came in. He gave me a swift nod before looking to the nurse. "Temperature is a little higher than earlier, pulse is strong, breathing by herself easier than she was at her last check" The nurse listed off and he nodded before taking her place by the bed, Alianna was still making movements with her mouth but she seemed to be turning slightly blue around the lips.

"Need to get the tube out" The doctor grumbled and the old nurse nodded before walking to where I was stood and softly pushing me out of the way. I fell back beside the window just watching as the doctor began messing with the machines around her bed. The buzzer was still going off and by this point two other nurses and a trainee doctor had come in to the room. A few seconds later Brady and her dad were running through the door with plastic coffee cups in hand which they promptly threw into the bin before sprinting beside me.

"She's waking up?" Her dad asked, tears filling his eyes, I couldn't bring myself to even nod I just stared waiting for her eyes to open.

The doctor pulled softly but quickly at the tube in her throat until the end came out along with her spluttering breath, she coughed slightly before taking in big gulps of fresh air, the doctor rolled her to the side as if in recovery and her breathing stopped being so hard and laboured, she fell into soft patterned breaths and he rolled her back onto her back.

"She's trying to say something" The nurse spoke up now as she took more checks this times her blood pressure. I trained my eyes onto Alianna's mouth, sure enough she was silently mouthing a word, I couldn't quite make it out. "You're ok honey, keep trying" The nurse cooed and Alianna's eyes fluttered again this time so much that I could see the white of her eyes beneath her eyelids.

"Breathing is normal, heart rate is normal" The doctor stated watching the screen of a monitor that was connected to various wires coming from beneath her hospital gown. "She just needs to open her eyes" He shot the three of us a swift professional smile.

"It may help if one of you came and held her hand" The nurse smiled over at us and I noticed the two doctors shoot each other looks that meant they obviously didn't believe in this old nurses theory that coma patients could hear and feel people around them. I shot a glance to them men beside me, both of them nodded at me to go forward and so I did, the nurse moved out the way for me and I slipped my warm hand into Ally's cold one. The heart machine beeping suddenly leapt erratically to which the little nurse beside me let out a chuckle "Oh she can feel you"

I looked at the doctor, he still wasn't convinced he just stared at me and Ally like he expected her to stop breathing any second.

"Ally" I spoke out lowering myself so she could hear me more clearly, her mouth moved again and a slight noise came out as her hand tightened on mine and the beeping of the heart monitor leapt again. "Ally, come on you can do it. You're ok now, you just need to open your eyes" I soothed and let my other hand fall to her forehead smoothing her hair out of her eyes ready for her to open them, the touch of my skin on hers sent tingles through me, she was warming up, I could hear her heart getting faster and her mouth moved again.

I looked up, the extra nurses and trainee doctor had left again leaving only the main doctor and little nurse in here with the three of us. Her dad was staring at his daughter, obviously waiting on edge for her to wake up while Brady was tapping away on his phone no doubt texting the guys.

"Dad" Her tiny voice breathed out and her hand tightened on mine again, I snapped my eyes back to her only to be met with her open eyes, she was looking right at me but her eyelids slid shut again before opening, she was fluttering them open and shut obviously struggling to keep them open.

"She's awake" Her dad yelled and ran for the bed while Brady now held the phone to his ear and screamed she's awake to whoever it was on the other end.

"I told you" The nurse piped up and I looked down at her, she was poking her tongue out at the doctor and he simply rolled his eyes at her.

"Dad" Alianna whispered again and I bent down toward her face to give her a soft kiss on her forehead, she wasn't cold anymore, she was normal. Her skin wasn't as pale, she didn't look dead. "Dad"

"I'm here, you're fine, I'm here. Oh god I thought I lost you" Her dad stepped forward and whispered to her as he stood next to me. Her eyes darted from him to me, her eyebrows creased into a furrowed V and she pulled her hand out of mine.

"Paul? Where am I?" Her voice was croaky but I understood here every word, I looked at her dad he was frowning at her and took a hold of her hand that she had taken from mine.

"Honey, Paul's been here the whole time. You're in Fork's hospital, you got into an accident" Her dad told the simple lie as the nurse and doctor watched her, her heart beat picked up as if she were getting distressed and her eyes darted to mine again before she looked around the room.

"Where's Devon? Why am I here?" Her voice was nervous and full of confusion, she had no idea. My heart sunk, she had no idea what had happened, she had forgotten everything. I reached for her but she jerked from me, her eyes full of the same dislike for me she held when she first came back. She had forgotten everything. I fell back to the wall behind me, my heart felt like it was breaking within me, my legs were weak and the tears came streaming down my face again as she asked her question again. "Devon, where is he?"

She was alive, but she didn't remember anything, everything we had gone through to get to this moment she didn't remember any of it. I had lost her, I had gotten her back to lose her again.
