Basket Thirty-Eight: Truth be Told
OoOoO
Lunch was close to ending, the students all almost back in their classes, except for Kuroi, who had been walking slowly to her class. But, how wrong she had been... If only she just walked a bit faster, she could have avoided running into Kise.
'This'll be fun...' Kuroi thought as she stared at the taller blond in front of her. Kise's face held a frown, eyes dark as he crossed his arms.
"Yasuhirocchi..." He started, but his voice went quiet. The model appeared to be racking his brain for certain words, not sure on what to say.
Kuroi had been avoiding anyone that was on the basketball team, as she had kept true to her word, and never showed for practice anymore. She had assumed that the Coach would tell them, but apparently he didn't say anything on her situation.
'I suppose adults really don't understand. Or just males.' Kuroi kept her eyes on anywhere but Kise. The floor, the wall, the weird speck on Kise's shoe, then slight wrinkle in his pants, the unevenly folded cuff of his white shirt, the-... Oh. The distraught look on his face...
"Stop making me feel bad." Kuroi grumbled, tearing her eyes away from his face again, choosing to glare openly at the wall.
"Why haven't you been to practice? Kasamatsu tried asking Coach, but Coach won't say anything!"
"Kise, you don't underst-"
"No, it's you who doesn't understand, Yasuhirocchi!" Kise burst out, grabbing Kuroi by her shoulders, intent stare into her purple eyes. "You haven't talked to any of us! Sempai has literally been freaking out, and I don't even think he's been eating because he was worried as to what the heck is going on! You can just date someone and then never talk to them again!"
You have friends who love you, and care about you! And no one wants to see anyone get hurt!"
Kuroi stared at Kise, wide-eyed. She never thought that this would be something that Kise did... But, she guessed, if the situation called for it...
"I'm sorry..." She murmured an apology, "I'm sorry." Kuroi repeated, head lowered in regret and sadness and shame. "My mom and dad found out about what I have been doing, a- and they forbade me from coming to practice. They want me to have nothing to do with you guys anymore... A- And I'm sorry that I didn't tell you sooner.. but I didn't know how I wou- ld... It's hard, not seeing you all every day, not playing basketball, or spending time with Kasamatsu." Kuroi took a shaky breath in, reaching up to wipe at the tears that rolled down her cheeks.
Kise sighed, and looked up at her. He stared for a moment, before his eyes widened in shock. "Ya- Yasuhirocchi! You're crying!" He yelled, looking around quickly, as if he could find a solution to fix her tears.
The idiot made her laugh and she shook her head. "Yeah, obviously." She sniffled, starting to feel awkward. She watched Kise stop waving his arms and give her an apologetic look.
"Sorry, Yasuhirocchi, I didn't mean to make you cry." He pouted, poking Kuroi's arm ever so lightly, as if he was afraid she'd start crying all over again.
"Idiot." She punched his shoulder, making the blond trip over his own foot and bump into the wall.
"Itai!"
OoOoO
"So, uh, Yasuhirocchi,"
"Hm?"
The two were currently making their way towards the gym, Kuroi finally making up her mind to tell Kasamatsu, and the others, about what happened. Kise had offered to do it, but she ended up telling him that she needed to man up - literally. So, here Kuroi was, heading towards her doom. She was beginning to really hate wanting to 'man up', as she put it, and wanted nothing more than to turn around and go back to class or something.
"Did it feel like a weight was magically lifted off your shoulders?" Kise grinned. Kuroi raised her eyebrow, and gave the model a shrug.
"I dunno. I guess." Truth be told, she did feel a bit better after telling Kise everything that happened. "You might have to drag me to the gym Kise." Kuroi spoke, coming to a slow halt.
"Eh? Why?"
"Because I don't think I can do this..." She turned to bolt, but Kise managed to get ahold of the back of her blazer and yanked her back. Kuroi tried to get free, but the model was stronger than her, and began to pull her towards those evil looking gym doors. "Kise!" Kuroi growled out, struggling even more once she caught sight of the double doors.
"Yasu- hirocchi! You- gah! - Already said, you would!" Kise choked out, now having to use both hands to literally drag the girl-disguised-as-a-boy towards the gym.
"I changed my mind, Kise! I can't do it! I'm not man enough!"
"Man enough for what?" Both first years head's snapped in the direction of the voice, and Kuroi groaned at her luck as Kise let go of her.
Kasamatsu stood there, looking in between the two. Kuroi looked into his blue-grey eyes, and nearly choked on her own spit. "H- Hey..." She stuttered out, offering the third-year a wave of her hand.
"Sempai! Kuroi just wanted to tell you something! I'll be going back to class now!" Kise smiled cheerily, slipping away as Kuroi turned to glare daggers at him.
Kuroi awkwardly shifted on her feet, turning back to Kasamatsu. "So-"
"Idiot, do you know how worried I was!?" He interrupted her, glare burning into her very soul.
"Very?" She squeaked out.
Kasamatsu glare melted as he sighed. "Sorry." He mumbled, a tinge of pink appearing on his face. Kuroi couldn't stop the smile from coming, and just shook her head.
"It's okay." She said. "Anyway, about what I was going to tell you..."
OoOoO
... Merry belated Christmas, everyone! My wish is that I hope you all don't kill me for not updating in forever~ *ish killed*
Kuroi: That's what you get for making me cry.
S- Sorry... x.x
Kuroi: Hmph.
Just be happy I didn't call the chapter: "Spilling the Beans", as I was so tempted to.
