The holidays seemed to fly by, Remus and Dora kept going to meetings. She did not get to leave the house much and everything that she did was being watched. There were two days left before she had to go back to school, and she had yet to visit Severus. So Minerva decided that she was going to make a quick visit to him while her Uncle and Dora were not at home. She flooed to Spinners end and it was as dark as she remembered it, and as quiet as normal. She then heard voices coming from the kitchen, she listened a little closer.

"I am aware Wormtail, but what the Dark Lord has asked has nothing to do with you!" Severus snapped.

The cowardly man nodded at him. "Yes, but the Dark Lord has told me..."

Severus cut him off, he sensed Minnie's presence. "Enough! You need to leave and report back to him! Do not return until I call for you!" He demanded.

Wormtail nodded and with a pop he was gone.

Minerva stood in the hallway silently, she was unaware that he knew she was there.

"Minerva Lily, come in here now." He said softly as he turned and looked at the kitchen door.

Her face dropped, she walked in and faced him. "Severus." She looked up at him.

"How long were you there? What did you hear?" He sighed.

She shrugged, and did not say a word. She knew that the man he was talking to was a death eater. She figured that, that made him one as well.

"Minerva, what is it?" He tried to see what was bugging her, but she got really good at clearing her mind.

She had tears in her eyes. "Nothing..." She ran off to the living room.

Snape followed quickly behind her, his long black robes bellowed behind him. "Minerva, get back here."

"Why?!" She yelled back at him, as she sat on the sofa with her head in her hands.

He sat down beside her. "What is it? Why are you so upset, love?"

"You." She replied softly. "You are one of them..." As she said it out loud her tears fell even faster.

He looked at her, Lily's daughter. He could not have her hate him the way her mother did. He could not lie to her, she needed to know the truth. "Minerva, I am not." He said softly to her.

She looked at him with a tear stained face. "I heard you!"

He took her hands. "Yes, you did hear me but that is what they need to think. Albus wants me to make them think that I am on their side. I am no more a death eater then Remus or Albus." He reassured her.

She took a deep breath in, and slowly exhaled. "So you are a spy?"

He nodded. "Yes my love, I would never hurt you like that. I would never dream of it." He pulled her into a hug, and she hugged him back.

"I am sorry." She looked at him and gave him a smirk. "I should have trusted you more, it is just so hard nowadays to know what is what."

"Oh believe me I know, but I promise that in the end things will be much easier." He held her for a few more moments before there was a loud pop in the kitchen. "Hide in the bedroom, now."

She ran and hid herself in the room, what if it was him? She thought to herself as she hid. Then the door opened, and she was not looking at a dark wizard of any sort, it was Remus, and he pulled her close. "What in Merlin's beard were you thinking Minerva?"

"I needed to see Severus before I headed back to school, and you will not allow me to do anything. So I snuck out while you were gone for the hundredth time." She sighed.

"You scared us, Dora and I have been looking for you. You can not do this when things are this dark. You know why, I should not have to keep telling you this." He gave her the father look.

"Oh trust me, I know it all to well." She rolled her eyes and went out to the living room, where Severus was also giving her the look.

"Well, we need to get you back to the cottage and ready to go back to school." Remus took her hand.

"Minute." She pulled her hand away and hugged Severus. "I am sorry I doubted you. I love you, and please stay safe." She kissed his cheek.

He hugged her back, and his heart filled with her words. "I love you to Minerva."

She walked over and grabbed Remus' hand and with a pop they were gone.

Severus smiled at her words, he saw so much of her mother in her and was so glad that he got to be a part of her life.

Minerva's next semester was the longest that she had ever lived through, she wanted nothing more then to go home. She hated being away from those that she loved in such dark times. She managed to keep her grades up and stay at the top of her year, but her mind never left the summer that she was going to have with her family.

Se was just finishing her last exam when she seen the Headmistress coming towards her. "Miss Lupin, come with me."

Minnie looked at her and followed her, what was going on. She never felt her heart beat so fast in her life, she knew that something was up but had no idea how bad.

As they entered her office, she seen her Uncle Remus waiting there pacing back and forth. "Minerva, hey baby. I have come to take you home, we need to have a talk." He smiled weakly at the headmistress. "Thank you." He grabbed Minerva's hand and apperated to the cottage.

"Uncle Remus, what is it? What is going on?" She looked over in the living room and seen Dora sitting on the sofa, her eyes were red.

"Sweetheart sit down." He sat on the sofa and patted the spot beside him, which was between him and Dora.

Minerva felt sick to her stomach. "Uncle Remus, you are scaring me. What is going on?"

He took her hands. "Love, there was a battle at the ministry last night. The death eaters had Harry and a few of his friends there..."

"No... Harry... he can't be" She thought that she lost her brother before she got to meet him.

Remus shook his head. "No, baby not Harry. The death eaters were a bit stronger then the kids but the Order had found out, and were came in to help them. Things we going fine, then Bellatrix..." Remus' eyes filled up with tears.

"Uncle Remus, who did she get? Are they dead? Please tell me." She looked at him and then Dora.

"Remus, go on you can do this. It has to be you." Dora sighed.

He nodded. "She killed... Baby she killed Sirius..."

Minerva felt her heart drop, she shook her head. "No..." She stood up. "No, he can not be, not him..."

Remus stood up as well and he nodded. "Yes, my love she used the killing curse. Sirius is gone."

Minerva's lost all feeling throughout her whole body and went to fall to the ground, as she did Remus caught her. They both sat on the floor Minerva wrapped tightly in his arms and crying like she had never done before. Dora soon wrapped her arms around both of them.

The next few weeks Minerva would not come out of her room, not even to eat. Remus had asked Severus over to see if he could get through to her.

He arrived early one morning. "Remus, how bad is she?" Severus had a feeling but needed to know for sure.

"She has not eaten much in weeks, and has locked herself away in her room. Dora, Andromeda, Ted, and I have all tried all that we can think of but nothing is working." He sighed, he looked more tired and worn then he has ever before.

"You do not look so well yourself." Severus headed towards her room. He knocked on the door softly. "Minerva, are you in there?" She did not answer.

He unlocked the door and he walked into her room. She was sitting in her window wrapped up in a blanket, her eyes were red and her face was stained with weeks of tears. He sat down beside her. "Minerva."

She looked at him. "Go away." She said quietly. "Just let me be."

He shook his head. "My dear, I am afraid that I can not do that. Your well-being is at stake here and that I can not walk away from." He touched her shoulder.

"It is not fair..." She felt herself break down again. "Why Sirius? We had such little time with him... Why him?!" She felt anger building up inside her.

"I can not answer that question but what I can tell you is that there is no way that Sirius would want to see you like this. He loved you so much and would not want you to stop eating and shut everyone out that you love, especially Remus and Dora. Minerva they are the closest things to parents that you have, and they are so worried about you."

She nodded and laid her head on his chest. "I know but I miss him, I do not want to hurt like this ever again. I have to stop feeling and ignore it all."

"That is foolish talk, you will never stop feeling. I know for a fact that Minerva Lily Potter will never not be able to unlove those that she loves. Am I right?"

She sat up and she looked at him. "Yes, you are right. It is just not fair."

"I know sweet girl, trust me I know." He kissed her forehead. "Now lets get you out there and get you some food." He stood up and reached for her hand.

She nodded and took his hand as they walked out to Remus. She looked at him standing by the kitchen window, as she seen how worn down he looked she ran over and hugged him. "I am so sorry, I love you... I am so sorry."

"I love you as well my dear, more then words could ever say." He kissed the top of her head, and turned giving Severus a small smile to say thank you.
