Chapter 37: Reconnecting
"Hermione, you need to know is that it was one of the Slytherins that did this to you. They used a powerful memory whip. That is why you were effected so differently. I don't know how to tell you all of this without someone over hearing but I am so sorry that I allowed this to happen to you." He said with sorrow in his eyes.
Hermione got up and walked over to him. She gave him a hug and whispered,
"I don't blame anything on you. You have done nothing to me to hate you. Thank you for trusting us and turning a new leaf."
He nodded and said,
"I will research everything on the spell that the attacker casted on you to see if there is a counter spell." Regulus said.
"Thank you Reg. That would be helpful. But for now I am going to be taking those potions. It is a start and hopefully they will help. Gins can I talk to you private? There is something we are going to need to do." Hermione admitted.
Ginny nodded and gave Regulus a smile before leaving. Sirius grabbed Hermione's arm and said,
"We will talk later? Alright?"
Hermione nodded and left with Ginny. Sirius watched her leave. Regulus turned to him and asked,
"How did we get so lucky to fall for two amazingly mysterious girls?"
"I have no idea bother. But if you hurt Gins I will hurt you. Doesn't matter if you are my brother or not." Sirius warned him.
Regulus nodded and left the library to head back to his common room to find the spell that Lucius used on Hermione. He got there and saw Lucius and the others waiting for him. He looked at them confused and asked,
"What is going on guys?"
"Some was telling me that you were talking to your brother Sirius and the Reeve sisters. What is that about?" Lucius asked.
"You know it's for the mission. I thought if I reconnect with my brother I will get closer to Ginny and guess what, it worked. I have a date with Ginny next Hogsmeade trip." I admitted.
I had to lie to them to not thing that I am a spy. Even though I know I am going to be a spy for the light. It is the only logical thing.
Lucius smiled to me and said,
"Good, and here I thought you lost track of the plan. Remember your mission is to bring her to the dark side. If not able to then just whip all her memories and change them to her wanting to go to the dark side."
I nodded and went up to my room.
Hermione lead Ginny to the room of requirements. There was a pensive inside there with couches that looked like the burrow. Ginny looked at Hermione confused. Hermione sat down on one of the couches and said,
"I am going to copy all my memories of our other life. So, in case the potion does have side effects I don't want to lose those. It is too important."
Ginny nodded and asked,
"Where are you going to store them for safe keeping?"
"I already know where. If you trust me then you won't ask questions. All you need to know is if emergences or that I lose all my memories that we have those for you to use." Hermione admitted.
Ginny nodded and watched Hermione go to work. She put them in the pensive and then casted a few spells. Right there a chain appeared with a circle white gem. She placed it in her pocket and they both left the room. Hermione told Ginny that she was going to go find Sirius.
Ginny nodded and walked down the corridor and back into the common room. She looked over and saw Sirius with the guys. She smiled and said,
"You know there is a certain Brainiac looking for you."
Right then he quickly got up and left the common room. James and Remus started to laugh at that. Remus spoke up and said,
"I have never seen Sirius so interested into a girl like that. He would have never gone after a girl if you told him they were looking for him."
"Well, guys I think the day has come. Our dear Sirius has found his mate. He is a changed person since Hermione and you have showed up. A lot of people I know has changed since you showed up. You two sure know how to change the rules of everything." James admitted.
"Well, that is the fun of the game. Changing the rules. Plus, that is mine and Hermione's favorite thing to do. We love changing the rules. Like I have a date with Regulus Black." Ginny admitted.
The guys looked at her surprised and James said,
"Well, maybe you can change him. I think Sirius would love to have his little brother back."
Ginny nodded and said,
"That I will do. I promise you that."
"Well, then we are glad you found someone you like. Do we need to give him the big brother talk? Since you are like a sister to us." Remus asked.
"Who said you guys are older?" Ginny asked.
"We are. You are seventeen in…" James started to think and asked. "When is your birthday?"
"My birthday is August eleventh. Hermione's is September nineteenth. Actually Hermione is older than all of us." Ginny admitted.
"How is that? Also we missed your birthdays. That sucks we will just have to make it up next year." James said.
"Because Hermione is older than me. My parents adopted her before having me. They thought they were not able to have kids but then I came. They just let her delay a year of schooling. We got Dumbledore to allow us in the same year. Even though she is smarter than anyone else." Ginny admitted.
"Well, we are older brothers to you then still." James said.
"Well, I think Sirius already found out and did that speech without you two." Ginny admitted.
They sighed and went back to talking about quidditch. Right then Hermione walked in with Sirius. They were smiling and they came over and sat down with the others.
"So have you told them?" Hermione asked.
"Yeah they know that I have a date with Reg. Oh by the way they know that you are older than the rest of us." Ginny admitted.
Hermione just rolled her eyes. She smiled them and said,
"Someone told me that age is just a number. It only matters how you live your life."
She smiled over to Ginny and Ginny started to laugh. She knew exactly who said that. The person was just a baby right now. They would not be going to know her just yet. It was Tonks herself that told them that. Now, it was towards Remus in their time. But it worked now.
"Well, I like that saying. That is going to be my new moto. What do you think guys? Should that be the Marauder's moto?" Sirius asked.
They all nodded and Hermione looked at the clock. She got up and looked at her friends.
"I will be right back. I must go start my new potion. I am going to need to take it twice a day. So tonight, is the first dose." She told them.
Sirius looked at her and asked,
"Do you want me to come with you?"
Hermione nodded and he got up and walked away with her. They walked down the hall in silence. He turned to her and said,
"Hermione why did you give me the necklace?"
"Because I wanted to give you something to show you how much you mean to me and how important you are to me. You have been there through it all. You are one of my big rocks Sirius." Hermione admitted.
They got to the hospital wing and Madam Pomfrey was waiting. This was going to be a journey that made Hermione nervous. Sirius look her hand and squeezed it. They walked in together. As long as she had him it would be alright.
