Chapter 38: battling the elite 4 part 4 Karen

As we walked into the room, it was dark and the room had some kind weird feel to it. Looking around the room, I noticed there was large dark crystals in the corners of the room and the walls around were decorated with purple curtains while the floor was purple with a gold star design.

I looked forward and saw a girl wearing a yellow shirt, long white shorts that went just under the knee, yellow shoes and she had long, sky blue hair. She stood there and said to me "my name is Karen, congratulations on making it this as far as you go. You won't be able to beat me"

I smiled and said "we'll just have to see about that" I grabbed a pokeball as Karen grabbed one of hers. We threw the poke balls, I sent out Charizard and Karen sent out Weavile. This was going to be annoying.

Karen looked and thought to herself before saying "Weavile, use ice shard" ice formed around Weavile and it sent them shooting at Charizard. They hit but they didn't do much damage if any because ice is weak to fire.

I said "Charizard, use dragon claw" Charizards claw began to glow an orange and he charged at Weavile. As he slashed, Weavile dodges and jumped onto the wall running around. It looked like Karen had a plan.

I tried to discover what her plan was, I even looked around the room relentlessly searching for even the smallest hint while she stood there smiling. Karen said "Weavile, use night slash" Weavile started to glow a black and suddenly Charizard was engulfed in shadows. I was surprised by this and I tried to think of a way for Charizard to escape it. Karen continued "strike at the wings" Weavile moved fast and slashed at the black orb and, in a chain, attacked Chrizard with afew hard slashes from all directions.

I heard the roars of Charizard from the attacks, it was a good move but it doesn't seem perfected yet. I smiled which confused Karen, especially when I said "Charizard, use it now" Karen looked at the black orb surrounding Charizard and saw it weaver then burst into a ball of flames, that was heading straight for Weavile at such intense speed. The fire attack hit Weavile dealing alot of damage and knocking it out.

Karen called back Weavile saying with a smile "you fought bravely, thank you for leading me your strength. Now rest" she sent out a Honchkrow, a dark bird pokemon. I was thinking that the weakness is lightning or ice so I let Charizard keep battling for now. Karen continued "Honchkrow, use thunderwave" the Honchkrow sparked with electricity and sent an electrical wave at Charizard.

The wave hit Charizard and paralysed it. the Charizard is now unable to move and the Honchkrow flew up as Karen said "Honchkrow, use drill peck" the Honchkrow rapidly span and at great speed flew towards Charizard. The air current around the Honchkrow grew more intense the closer it got to Charizard and hit directly, deal some damage sending Charizard flying into a wall to the side. I was worried, Charizard look beat up, I know he wouldnt be able to stand another attack from Honchkrow, what can I do? I thought that over and over until I looked at Honnchkrow flying there.

I called Charizard back smiling and sent out Lapras. Karen understood the reasoning it and smiled. I said "ok Lapras, use ice beam" Honchkrow saw the attack and dodged but as it dodged it left a trail of spiked ice from where Lapras was shooting ice beam. I smiled as my trap was being set and the ice beam Lapras was shooting continued to rage on coating the room in a thick layer of ice with many spikes.

I continued to smile as Karen got more confused as the ice beam raged on and kept on missing the Honchkrow. Karen asked "why are you smiling? The battle hasn't been decided yet"

I smiled and said "the stage is now set" Karen looked more confused as I continued "Lapras, use ice shard" Karen looked around and saw the whole room coated with ice. She understood and was shocked. Lapras smashed the ice formed thanks to ice beam and the shards flew, hitting Honchkrow dealing alot of damage and quickly knocking it out.

Karen was amazed I came up with a plan like that and called Honchkrow back. She said "you did well but get some rest, you earned it" she then called out Houndoom, a fire dog like pokemon, and it roared out some fire.

Houndoom steadied itself ready to fight Lapras. Although Lapras has the advantage with water, Houndoom has an advantage with the ice. I thought and thought of any way to turn the tables in my favour.

Karen smiled and without giving me time to think, she said "Houndoom, use flamethrower" Houndoom gathered fire in its mouth and shot it at Lapras. The heat coming from it evaporated the water and hit Lapras dealing alot of damage. Unfortunately the side effect of flamethrower kicked in and began to burn Lapras over time. I used a burn heal on Lapras to stop the burns effect.

Karen smiled watching and noticed Sylveon was worried. I went back and picked Sylveon up holding him. He looked at me weird as I looked at Karen smiling and said "we're not done yet"

Karen replied "is that so? I best get more serious, Houndoom use dark pulse" Houndoom became cloaked in pitch black and sent out a wave of dark energy.

Lapras and I dodged the attack and I said "Lapras, finish this with hydro pump" the water vapour and the water on the ground gathered in the mouth of Lapras and started to glow a light blue colour that looked almost white. Lapras shot the concentration of water at Houndoom with extreme speed, even for this attack being much faster than normal.
