Sweet! Sixteen reviews last chapter and, after this chapter, we are on the last four chapters of this story. Then I can start posting Chained. I hope everyone likes that story. I put a lot of effort into it and I'm proud of it!
Also, I have decided that I am going to do a Yu-Gi-Oh!/Harry Potter crossover and it will be called Tomorrow's Kings, after the Dragonforce song of the same name. Usually I don't self-promote but…eh, it's not exactly like I do this all the time. Actually, I think this is only the second time…
I digress, anyway, thank you to Guest, Sundown17, the Composcreator, DarkZorua100, UltimateTouken, bobmanv2.0, reven228, Ricku28, Vanishing Raptor, a1993, EndlessNight025, Zarina El Tigre, Kimori Takahashi, decode9, Kamen Rider Sting and iloveyugiohGX93 for reviewing the last chapter. Calm Before the Storm
Chazz sat on the roof of Duel Academy, gazing at the cloudless blue sky above his head. A full day had gone by since the final Shadow Rider was defeated and Chazz found himself glad for that; it meant that the Spirit Gates were safe and no more Shadow Riders would be coming after them. But, as he sat there, gazing at the sky, he found himself thinking about Arina.
Being stuck in space for that amount of time, though he wasn't sure how much time had gone by, Chazz had learned quite a bit about Arina, like her favorite color, favorite food, what she liked doing in her spare time when she wasn't dueling, the fact that she was the fourth of seven children and that she has gotten into trouble a lot for causing chaos just for the heck of it. Arina had also learned a lot about Chazz, though he didn't like talking about himself that much.
Chazz was surprised to find that his thoughts kept drifting to Arina. He knew he liked her, but he was worried that she didn't feel the same way. While he would like to ask her out on a date, he was afraid of being rejected. It didn't help that, ever since he and the others woke up after Jaden defeated the final Shadow Rider, he kept dreaming about her, her beautiful pale-blonde hair, her pretty gray eyes, even the fact that she enjoyed showing off all the time.
'Hey, Boss, you okay?' Ojama Yellow asked as he appeared in spirit form in front of Chazz.
Chazz ignored him as he kept his gaze fixed on the sky. Why did he feel this way? Before, he had just been crushing on Arina and now, it felt as if it had become something…more. Could he be falling in love with Arina?
Was it even possible for him to fall in love with someone he had spent so little time with, except for the time they spent in those strange bubble things? And that wasn't that long, either.
Opposites attract, Chazz thought. Maybe that's why.
He just didn't know.
'Hellllllooo, boss? Boss, you in there? Hey, Boss!' Ojama Yellow floated above Chazz, waving a hand in front of him until Chazz, irritated, smacked him away from him.
"Beat it," he snapped.
'What's the matter, Boss?' Ojama Yellow asked curiously.
Chazz didn't answer as he turned his gaze to the ocean. "Nothing," he said shortly.
'Ooookay then,' Ojama Yellow said, obviously not believing him. 'Does it have something to do with your not-girlfriend?'
Chazz glared at the Ojama spirit. "Nooo, it has nothing to do with her," he snapped. He was lying and Ojama Yellow seemed to have known that.
'Surrrreeeee,' Ojama Yellow said. 'Why don't ya just tell her if you like her so much?'
Chazz scowled. "Getting relationship advice from a bunch of annoying duel spirits? Wonderful," he growled sarcastically.
. . .
Meanwhile, Jaden was looking forward to some peace and quiet, especially with his girlfriend whom he hadn't had a chance to talk to since he defeated Banner the day before. That wasn't to be, though, for word had spread of the final Shadow Rider's defeat and, as Jaden, Syrus and Chumley walked through the courtyard toward the main building with Kasumi at their side, dozens if not hundreds of students stood on either side of the cement path, cheering him on.
"Way to go, Jaden!"
"Way to stick it to those Shadow Riders!"
"Totally!"
Jaden chuckled and waved at the fans. "Thank you! Though I just did what I had to do!" he called cheerfully.
Kasumi chuckled.
Syrus looked from side to side. "Check it out, guys, everyone thinks we're heroes," he said.
"If you ask me, I'd prefer a hero sandwich," Chumley commented.
. . .
Down at the docks, Zane and Alexis were talking about what happened the previous night.
"I'm glad you're okay," Zane said.
"Okay?" Alexis glanced at Zane before adding, "I was taken hostage by some clone of someone who I thought was our Professor."
Zane chuckled lightly. "Yeah, but things like that aren't too uncommon around here, y'know?" He turned and smiled a little before adding, "Maybe you need a bodyguard."
"I think Jaden fills that role rather well," Arina said.
Alexis folded her arms across her chest. "Oh? You think so, do you? I can handle myself just fine and Jaden knows it. Even so, it's nice to know you care."
Zane's smile widened. "I'll miss you once I graduate from here," he said softly. He paused before adding, "So, your brother's back to normal now, huh?"
Alexis scoffed. "Yeah, if you can call that normal," she said with a shake of her head.
. . .
Chazz was wandering around the beach, thinking about Arina and staring at the waves of the ocean. A large crab scuttled sideways as the tide went back and forth. That was what he was doing when he spotted Alexis' brother, Atticus, wearing a wetsuit and riding a surfboard with ease, surfing through a tunnel of falling water.
Sitting on the beach, watching Atticus and shaking his head in amusement was Jaden's brother Raiden.
"Hang ten, Chazz-dude," Atticus called.
Chazz barely got out of the way in time to avoid being knocked over as Mindy and Jasmine sped past him in their bikinis, squealing at the top of their lungs.
Raiden got to his feet as Atticus made his way back onto the beach. "When are you gonna teach me how to surf?" he asked.
"We can try for this summer," Atticus said brightly.
Mindy and Jasmine jogged over to join Atticus. "Autograph please?" she said, holding out a large notebook.
Atticus smiled and took the notebook. "Sure, no problem," he said brightly as he wrote into the paper and then handed it back. "There ya go."
Both girls looked at the paper and squealed.
"He wrote B.F.F," they cried.
"That's right, ladies. It means"—Atticus raised a finger to the sky and smiled charmingly at the girls—"Best Friends Forever."
Mindy and Jasmine squealed again before falling backward onto the sand in a faint.
Raiden stared. "Why do they always do that?" he wondered aloud.
"I honestly do not know, dude," Atticus said with a shake of his head, still smiling.
Glad Arina isn't like that, Chazz thought and he smiled a little as he thought about her before he shook his head and glanced at Atticus. Maybe I can ask Atticus for help. He's a chick magnet.
He walked over to join Atticus and Raiden. "Atticus, can I get some advice?" he asked.
"Sure thing, Chazz. Whatcha need?" Atticus asked brightly.
Chazz told him about his feelings for Arina. "But I don't know if she feels the same way, but I'd like to ask her out, but…" he trailed off.
"You're afraid she'll say no," Raiden finished thoughtfully.
Chazz nodded slowly.
"I don't know Arina all that well," Atticus said with a shrug, "but from what I do know about the ladies, maybe ya just need to impress her and then she'll go on a date with ya."
"Oookay, how do I do that?" Chazz asked.
"From what I've heard from Kasumi, she's a good duelist, so maybe you can duel her," Raiden suggested. "Though I don't think ya need to impress her to get a date from her."
Atticus patted Raiden's back. "You've got a lot to learn about the art of love, my friend," he said.
"Who says I want to learn about the 'art of love', Atticus?" Raiden said dryly before looking at Chazz and adding, "If ya want my advice, just talk to her and ask her out on a date. Worst case scenario, she says no. It won't be the end of the world."
"What won't be the end of the world?" Raven asked as she walked over to join them.
"Oh, we're just talking about how Chazz wants to ask someone he likes out but he's afraid she'll say no," Raiden replied.
"I say go for it," Raven said with a shrug.
Atticus pressed his lips together thoughtfully. "Y'know, maybe we should do something to help Chazz out," he suggested.
"No," Raiden said shortly.
"You don't even know…" Atticus began.
Raiden glared. "I still remember the last time you dragged me into helping someone with this kind of problem," he said.
Atticus pouted. "How was I to know she was allergic to chocolate?" he muttered. "All I'm suggesting is that we get Chazz and Arina to duel, that's it. Then we can focus on getting Alexis and Jaden together!"
Chazz raised an eyebrow. "Jaden and Alexis are already together, y'know," he said.
Atticus and Raiden looked at Chazz incredulously before looking at each other and then back at Chazz.
"When did this happen?" Raiden wondered.
"More importantly, why didn't Lexi tell me?" Atticus said with a pout.
. . .
That night, in the Chancellor's office, Sheppard was putting away some documents into his bag as he got ready to leave the office. He frowned, a strange sense of paranoia overcoming him and he reached beneath his desk before pulling out the case that now held the ten Spirit Keys. He opened it to make sure they were all there and sighed in relief before putting them away.
"I'm getting paranoid," he said with a shake of his head before he left the office, not noticing it when the Spirit Gate keys began to glow because of all the excess duel energy that had been gathered, though no one knew that.
. . .
The following morning, Alexis and Jaden were sitting on the beach, talking with each other.
"I got a call back from my dad," Jaden said.
"Oh?" Alexis raised an eyebrow. "About the Hawaii trip?"
"Yup. He said that Kas, Raiden and I can go, so long as he goes with us. He's already talking with his boss to get three weeks off," Jaden said.
"Cool," Alexis said with a smile before she turned her gaze to the sky above her head. "I'm glad this whole fiasco with the Shadow Riders is over and done with."
"Yeah, except for what Banner warned us was coming," Jaden said.
"Well, yeah, except that," Alexis said, resting her hand on Jaden's and he smiled before taking her hand fully in his.
"So Chazz was right? You two finally got together," Raiden said, plopping down onto the sand next to Jaden and causing both him and Alexis to jump.
"Gees, Rai, scare the living daylights outta me, why don't ya?" Jaden muttered.
Raiden chuckled. "When were you gonna tell me you two finally became a couple?" he asked.
Jaden shrugged. "Must've slipped my mind," he said.
'More like you didn't want him to tease you relentlessly about it,' Yubel said with a smirk.
That too, Jaden thought. "So what brings ya to the beach, Rai?" he asked.
Raiden shrugged. "Boredom," he said.
"Lexi! Why didn't ya tell me you and Jaden had gotten together?" Atticus shouted as he jogged over to join them, dressed in a shirt with a Hawaiian print on it and shorts.
"Didn't think it was any of your business," Alexis said dryly.
Atticus pouted.
Raiden raised an eyebrow. "Shouldn't you be off helping Chazz?" he asked.
"Oh yeah. C'mon, Rai, you're helping out, too," Atticus said.
Raiden gave him a blank look. "You're just organizing a duel. Why do you need my help?" he asked.
"To give support, duh. Now c'mon or I'll tell Jaden and Kasumi about that little incident that happened in Crowler's classroom last year," Atticus began.
Raiden leapt to his feet. "You swore you'd never speak of that again," he growled.
Atticus grinned while Alexis face-palmed.
"Fine," Raiden muttered before he and Atticus walked off.
Jaden blinked. "What just happened?" he asked.
"Raiden got blackmailed into helping Atticus out," Alexis said into her hand.
"Wonder what they're doing," Jaden said before he got to his feet and held out a hand. "Wanna come with and find out?"
"Sure," Alexis said and took Jaden's hand before letting him pull her to her feet.
. . .
When Arina got the message on her duel pilot from Chazz asking her to meet where they had first talked, she had been surprised and also couldn't help but wonder why Chazz wanted to speak to her. Still, she made her way over to the cliff to find Chazz standing there but, to her surprise, Atticus and Raiden were also there, though Raiden looked irritated.
"Hey, Chazz," Arina said as she came to a stop in front of a nervous-looking Chazz.
"Hey," Chazz said. "Um, I was wondering if you'd like to duel."
"Sure, but why didn't you just ask me instead of being all mysterious?" Arina asked, tilting her head to the side slightly.
"Yeah, Atticus, why didn't he?" Raiden growled, glaring at Atticus.
"Hey, the ladies like mystery," Atticus said with a grin.
Arina raised an eyebrow. "So what exactly is going on?"
Chazz swallowed. "Uh, well, if I win, you'll go out on a date with me," he said.
Arina blinked. "So we're dueling for a date?" she said.
Chazz nodded.
"This is my best plan yet!" Atticus said with a bright grin and Raiden face-palmed.
"I swear I had nothing to do with this, Arina," he said into his hand.
Arina thought about it and then decided to just go with it. "And if I win?" she asked.
"Uh, what do you want?" Chazz asked.
"I'll let you know after I win," Arina said with a cheerful smile as she activated her duel disk. She could've always asked him out on a date, but she did enjoy dueling and decided that if she won, she'd ask him then.
Chazz's nervousness went away as he activated his own duel disk and a small smirk crossed his face. "Someone's confident," he said.
Arina grinned. "Ready?" she asked.
"Ready."
"Duel!" the two declared while drawing their opening hands.
Chazz: 4000
Arina: 4000
"I'll go first," Chazz said, drawing a card before he looked at it and then at his hand. "And I place this card facedown and summon Armed Dragon LV 3 in Attack Mode." A vertical facedown card as well as his small orange armored dragon appeared on the field (A: 1200/D: 900).
"And I'll end with that," he said.
"Hey, guys, what's going on?" Jaden asked as he and Alexis walked hand in hand over to join them as Arina drew her sixth card. Syrus and Chumley were with them; they had met up with them while leaving the beach.
"They're dueling for a date," Atticus explained with a grin. "Aren't I a genius?"
"No, you just like sticking your nose into other people's business," Raiden said.
Atticus pouted.
Alexis sighed. "You set all of this up just to get Chazz and Arina to go out on a date?" she asked and, when Atticus nodded, she sighed again, "I should've known."
"My turn," Arina said before she held up the card she just drew. "I play the Spell Valhalla, Hall of the Fallen." She inserted the card into her disk before picking another card as she added, "And, thanks to Valhalla's effect, since I have no monsters on my field, I can Special Summon one Fairy-type monster from my hand and so I Special Summon Athena in Attack Mode."
She placed the card on her disk and her silver-haired fairy appeared on the field, wielding her scepter in one hand and a round shield in the other with a Greek-style helmet on her head (A: 2600/D: 800).
"Next, I activate the Spell Burden of the Mighty, which decreases the attack of all of your monsters by 100 times their level," Arina added, inserting the card into her disk and Armed Dragon LV 3 weakened (A: 1200-900).
"Now, Athena, attack Armed Dragon LV 3," she added.
"I activate my facedown, Negate Attack, to stop your attack and end the Battle Phase," Chazz said, revealing his facedown as Athena prepared to attack.
"Oh well, I end my turn," Arina said brightly.
Chazz drew a card. "I activate Armed Dragon LV3's effect and Tribute him to Special Summon Armed Dragon LV 5," he said and placed the card onto his disk as a larger version of his dragon appeared, this one was red with black armor though and was covered with more spikes (A: 2400-1900/D: 1700).
"Next, I activate my Armed Dragon's effect. By discarding Despair from the Dark in my hand, I can destroy Athena. Go, Shrapnel Blast," Chazz added, discarding the card from his hand and his dragon roared before unleashing a volley of spikes that shot toward Athena like missiles, destroying her.
"Now, Armed Dragon, attack Arina directly, Inferno Roar," Chazz ordered and his dragon let out a roar, sending spinning glowing blades at Arina who back-flipped to avoid getting knocked down.
Chazz: 4000
Arina: 2100
"Well, it could have been worse," Alexis said as Chazz set two cards and signaled the end of his turn.
"Good move," Arina said cheerfully as she drew a card. "I activate Valhalla's effect to Special Summon Spirit of the Harp to my field in Defense Mode."
A brown-haired woman with a harp appeared before kneeling down, resting her hands on the strings of the harp (A: 800/D: 2000).
"And next, I play Monster Reborn to bring back Athena," the Fairy Duelist added, inserting the card as her silver haired fairy returned to the field (A: 2600/D: 800).
"And, since I still have a Normal Summon, I can bring out another monster," Arina added.
"Sorry, Arina, but you can't," Chazz said, pressing a button on his disk to reveal a card depicting the three Ojama brothers in three spotlights. "I activate Ojama Trio. This Trap Special Summons three Ojama Tokens to your side of the field in Defense Mode and they cannot be used for Tribute Summoning. Also, if they're destroyed, you take 300 points of damage for each one."
Ojamas Yellow, Black and Green appeared and happily shook their butts at Arina who looked amused (A: 0/D: 1000 x3).
"All right then," she said, tucking the card she had been about to play back into her hand before pointing and adding, "Athena, attack Armed Dragon LV 5."
"I activate my other Trap, Mirror Force, to destroy all of your monsters in Attack Position," Chazz said, revealing his second facedown and the blast of light from Athena's scepter was sent flying back at her, causing her to shatter.
"Ah well, I end my turn," Arina said.
Chazz drew a card. "I activate Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy Burden of the Mighty," he said and the mini-tornado spun across the field before crashing into Arina's Spell, causing it to shatter (Armed Dragon A: 1900-2400).
Chazz looked at his hand and saw that he didn't have any monsters in his hand to discard to activate his dragon's effect. "Armed Dragon, attack Spirit of the Harp," he ordered and his dragon roared again before those glowing spinning blades shot forward and slammed into Spirit of the Harp, causing her to cry out in pain and shatter.
"And, because my Armed Dragon destroyed a monster, I can now tribute him to summon Armed Dragon LV 7 in Attack Mode," Chazz declared as his dragon vanished to be replaced by his larger, more formidable looking and more metallic dragon (A: 2800/D: 1000).
"He's doing well. Won't be long before he wins and he and Arina go out. Then they'll get together, all because of me," Atticus said happily.
Raiden looked at Atticus blankly. "'All because of you'? Right," he said with a shake of his head.
"I wouldn't count Arina out just yet," Jaden said. "I've seen her duel a few times and she's a good duelist."
I know she is, Chazz thought.
"My turn," Arina said, drawing a card before she held it out. "I activate Card of Sanctity so that we each draw until we have six cards in her hands." She and Chazz drew until they had a full hand before Arina added, "Next, I activate the Ritual Spell Dawn of the Herald. Since I'm not using your tokens for a Tribute Summon and they are not being destroyed, I can do this and I take no damage. I Tribute all three Ojama Tokens in order to summon Herald of Perfection in Attack Mode."
The three tokens cried out before they vanished to be replaced by a large, blue giant fairy (A: 1800/D: 2800).
"Now, Herald, attack Armed Dragon LV7," Arina ordered.
"What?" Chazz frowned.
"But Herald's weaker than Armed Dragon LV7," Jaden said with a frown.
"What's she doing?" Raiden wondered. "Unless…"
"I also activate the effect of Honest in my hand," Arina said, holding up the card before inserting it into her Graveyard slot. "By discarding him, my Herald gains your monster's Attack Points until the End Phase."
Herald glowed with power as he prepared to attack the dragon (A: 1800-4600). A blast of light shot forward before slamming into Armed Dragon LV7, causing him to roar in pain as he shattered into golden pixels, Chazz was nearly knocked off his feet from the force of the attack, and conjuring up a large cloud of smoke.
Chazz: 2200
Arina: 2100
"And I end my turn with that," Arina said before she looked over at Chazz as the smoke from the attack faded. "You okay?"
"I'm fine," Chazz assured her as he drew a card. "First, I activate Graceful Charity, to draw three cards and then discard two." He did so before adding, "And, since I just sent my Ojamagic to the Graveyard, I'm allowed to add Ojamas Green, Yellow and Black from my deck to my hand." He retrieved those three cards before holding out another one.
"I now summon Ojama Red in Attack Mode." He placed the card on his disk and his red Ojama with a yellow bandana around his neck appeared (A: 0/D: 1000).
"And I activate Ojama Red's effect. When it's summoned, I can call these bozos to the field: Ojamas Yellow, Black and Green," Chazz added and the three main Ojama brothers appeared on the field (A: 0/D: 1000) x3.
'See? He does like us,' Ojama Yellow said brightly.
Chazz's eye twitched. "Whatever. Now, I activate this Spell,"—he held up another card—"Ojama Delta Hurricane!"
"Nice move. That will destroy all cards on Arina's field," Alexis said.
"Too bad I'm gonna have to stop that," Arina said as the three Ojamas leapt into the air.
"What?" Chazz frowned.
"I activate Herald of Perfection's effect. By discarding one Fairy-type monster in my hand, I can negate the activation of your Spell and destroy it," Arina said, discarding Freya and the card Chazz had been about to play shattered, causing the three Ojama brothers to be tossed rather roughly to the ground.
'Ow,' Ojama Green muttered.
'What's the big idea?' Ojama Black growled.
'I think I hit my head,' Ojama Yellow said, holding his head.
"Sorry, Chazz," Arina said.
Chazz huffed. "Whatever. I'll just do this then. I activate Polymerization. Ojamas, you know what to do."
The three Ojamas nodded eagerly and jumped into the air once again and swirled together to be replaced by a large white Ojama in red bikini briefs with a cloak around its shoulders and a crown on its head (A: 0/D: 3000).
'Ojama King!' Ojama King shouted.
"And next, I play the Field Spell Ojama Country," Chazz added and the scenery changed so that the gang were standing in a miniature village with houses shaped like the heads of the Ojamas.
"That's not good for Arina 'cause that switches the Attack and Defense of all monsters on the field," Jaden said.
"That's right, Slacker," Chazz said. (Ojama King A: 0-3000/D: 3000-0) (Ojama Red A: 0-1000/D: 1000-0) (Herald of Perfection A: 1800-2800/D: 2800-1800).
"Now, Ojama King, attack Herald of Perfection with Flying Belly Flop Drop," Chazz ordered and Ojama King leapt into the air.
'Look out below!' Ojama King shouted and landed on Herald of Perfection, flattening and destroying the fairy.
Chazz: 2200
Arina: 1900
"Now, Ojama Red, attack Arina directly," Chazz ordered.
'On it, boss,' Ojama Red said before he dashed forward and slammed his butt into Arina's gut.
Chazz: 2200
Arina: 900
"Good move," Arina said as she straightened up and Chazz signaled the end of his turn. She drew a card. "I activate Pot of Greed to draw two more cards." She did so before adding, "And next, I activate Valhalla's effect to Special Summon Gyakutenno Megami to my field in Attack Mode."
A white-skinned white haired fairy appeared on the field (A: 1800-2000/D: 2000-1800).
"Next, I use my Normal Summon to summon Fairy Archer in Defense Mode," Arina added and her red-haired fairy with the bow and quiver of arrows and a skirt made of leaves appeared before kneeling down (A: 1400-600/D: 600-1400).
"Now, I activate Fairy Archer's effect, which deals you 400 damage for every face-up Light monster on my field and there are two."
Fairy Archer pointed her bow at Chazz before firing two arrows that shot past Ojama Red and Ojama King and struck Chazz.
Chazz: 1400
Arina: 900
"And now, Gyakutenno Megami, attack Ojama Red," Arina ordered and her white-skinned fairy closed her eyes before holding up a hand and sending a blast of white light at Ojama Red.
'Awww man!' Ojama Red whined as the light enveloped him and he shattered.
Chazz: 400
Arina: 900
"I place this facedown and end my turn," Arina added as a vertical facedown card appeared at her feet.
Chazz drew a card and then smiled. "It looks like I have this duel won," he said. "Ojama King, attack Gyakutenno Megami."
"I activate my Negate Attack to stop your attack and end your Battle Phase," Arina said, pressing a button on her disk and Ojama King's attack was stopped.
Chazz grunted. "All right, I place these two cards facedown and end my turn," he said. I still have the stronger monster, so I could probably win next turn but, just in case, these will help me, he thought.
Arina drew a card. "I play Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy Ojama Country," she said and the mini-tornado spun across the field, causing the Field Spell to shatter and weakening Ojama King (A: 3000-0/D: 0-3000) (Gyakutenno A: 2000-1800/D: 1800-2000) (Archer A: 600-1400/D: 1400-600).
Now I could win if I just use Fairy Archer's effect, Arina thought.
"I activate my first facedown, Forbidden Chalice and I use it on your Fairy Archer to negate its effect, though it gains 400 Attack," Chazz said, revealing one of his facedowns depicting a woman drinking from a golden chalice; a chalice appeared above Fairy Archer and poured water on it (A: 1400-1800).
Well, I guess I'll just attack. I'll still win, unless Chazz's second Trap stops me, Arina thought. "Good move, but I still win. Gyakutenno, attack Ojama King," she ordered and her fairy closed her eyes, preparing to attack.
"I activate my second facedown, Ring of Destruction, and target Gyakutenno," Chazz said, revealing his second facedown and a ring of flaming balls appeared around Gyakutenno's neck.
"Looks like it's a draw," the Fairy duelist said with a smile.
Chazz gave her a small smile in return but he said nothing as Gyakutenno exploded, raising up a cloud of dust and sending both duelists to the ground.
Chazz: 0
Arina: 0
DRAW
Arina flipped to her feet before walking over to join Chazz as the smoke faded away. "So, when do you want to go out?" she asked, holding out a hand to the black-haired duelist.
Chazz looked at her, surprised. "But we both lost," he said.
"I'd rather say we both won," Arina said brightly. "Besides, I'd like to go out with you, if you want. I mean, you're cute and I like you, have for a while now."
Chazz looked gob-smacked, obviously not expecting Arina to actually like him, too, but he quickly cleared his face of emotion and nodded before taking her hand and pulling himself to his feet.
"Well, at least they're still going out. All's well that ends well," Atticus said before he looked at Raiden and added, "Now we need to see about setting you up with someone, Rai."
Raiden glowered at him. "No," he said firmly.
"Ah c'mon, Rai. There're a lot of good looking gals who'd love to go out with ya," Atticus said.
"No."
"But…"
"No!"
Atticus pouted.
Jaden snickered.
. . .
In Chancellor Sheppard's office, the glowing Spirit Keys started to rattle violently before they suddenly shot out of their hiding place, emerging from the box in which they were kept as if the box had been opened by an unseen hand. The keys sailed through the window, causing it to shatter, and immediately flew through the forest.
Sheppard, who had been entering his office at that moment, gasped upon seeing this. "Oh no," he breathed before immediately dashing out of the office, hoping the children were okay.
"What's going on, Chancellor?" Kasumi asked as she had been about to leave the academy to find her brother when Sheppard ran past her.
"The Spirit Keys," was all she heard before Sheppard was out of the main building.
Kasumi gasped. "That's not good," she whispered and immediately hurried after the Chancellor; they were soon joined by Dr. Crowler, Zane, Bastion, Kyle and Raven.
. . .
The island began to vibrate as if struck by an earthquake and everyone attempted to remain on their feet, except for Chazz who lost his balance and crashed into Arina, sending them both to the ground, with him on top. They both began blushing and Chazz quickly scrambled off the blonde Fairy duelist.
"Sorry," he said.
"It's okay," Arina said.
"What's going on?" Alexis called, clinging on to Jaden as they attempted to stop themselves from falling like the others.
"The threat Banner warned us about," Jaden said worriedly, wrapping an arm around Alexis' waist in an effort to keep her steady. "It's here."
. . .
A/n what do you think?
Yami: (glares at Jaden, Jesse, Ryou and Chazz) I hate you guys, I really do
Jaden: what did we do?
Yami: (jabs finger at Blaze) you left me alone with a psychotic that makes Yami Marik and Yami Bakura look like angels!
Blaze: what did I do?
Yami: (growls)
Yugi: (grabs Yami) Yami, don't Mind Crush the authoress!
Blaze: (eyes the furious Yami and hides behind Bakura)
Chazz: (shakes head) well, at least she's not on a sugar high. Now what's today's question?
Blaze: uhhhhh… (Draws blank) where did I put it?
Bakura: (scoffs and pulls out question) you gave it to me, foolish mortal. Today's question is: What is your favorite pairing in an anime that is not Yu-Gi-Oh! (Any series)? Please put the anime that this pairing is from too. Her favorite pairing is from an anime she only recently got back into (and so didn't include in her answer for her favorite anime) and that is Inuyasha/Kagome from the anime Inuyasha. She also likes Vegeta/Bulma and Goku/Chi Chi from Dragon Ball Z Kai.
Blaze: yup! Now, off to continue my Yu-Gi-Oh!/Harry Potter crossover
Bakura: you better not make me a pansy in that story!
Blaze: don't worry. You're still a psychotic kleptomaniac, just much more…subtle, I guess you could say and maybe a little OOC
Bakura: (growls)
Blaze: well, you do treat Ryou better, so that may or may not be OOC.
Bakura: well, it's not like I'm going to end up friends (sneers out word) with that baka Pharaoh, right?
Blaze: uhh, oh look at the time, I've gotta go finish my report for school. Someone end the chapter! (Grabs laptop and notes and takes off running)
Jesse: well, I guess I'll end it. Blaze hopes that you enjoy this chapter. The next chapter will be posted, hopefully, Saturday and reviews, as always, are much appreciated.
