"...Phew! Almost done!"

Having escaped from Kyurem's wrath by throwing a cake in his face, Genesect slipped away from the chaos that the Ice Dragon was causing due to him being blinded by the cake.

The Bug managed to get back to his room, without anyone noticing, and began to finish off the wrapping.

He has just finished wrapping Mew's present, which consists of a box selection of chocolate sweets (or candies, as everyone else calls them.) in some fancy red and green wrapping. Not being the greatest of wrappers, the wrapping isn't that great, bits of paper ripped and the whole thing is almost covered in tape, to get everything covered.

The Bug sighs, and then looks to the last present he has to wrap, the Wish Bringer.

He looks at the slight-glowing orb with a frown, thinking about it.

As you may know from earlier, Genesect was going to give the Orb to Meloetta, to hopefully bring Keldeo back, but what Darkrai had mentioned earlier got him thinking.

It's been years since Latios died in the Alto Mare incident, bravely sacrificing himself to save everyone.

Though the Bug has never met the Eon Legend (apart from the imposter incident), he knows that Latios was a respected member of the Legends, and Latias loved him so much.

When he died, it sadden Latias, and many of Latios' friends.

Genesect hates others being sad and wishes anyway to make them happy again. Genesect would love to give the Wish Bringer to Meloetta but having Darkrai suggesting it, Genesect is now considering of giving the Wish Bringer to Latias.

After all, Christmas is meant to be spent with family, and Latios was Latias' only living relative by blood and the one she was closest to.

Sure, Latias has a family with the other Legendaries but Latios was the closest, from what Genesect had heard.

So, should Genesect give the Wish Bringer to Latias?

Well, it is an option, but on the other hand, Meloetta has been missing Keldeo for the past few months since the Plot Hole thing.

Genesect wasn't there when it happened, but from what he had heard, Zalton had somehow turned good, some Zoroark called Furnace turned up when he was suppose to be gone (or was it Flambargo?) and a Greninja appeared, caused a Plot Hole to appear, Keldeo jumped in as a sacrifice, etc, etc!

After the whole thing, Genesect had gone to see where the Plot Hole was while DragonNiro went to kidnap Zalton. The Bug did cry but vowed to keep reviewing.

But, it's been a few months since then. What now?

Genesect looks at the Wish Bringer, when suddenly, an alarm goes off on his phone. The Bug looks at it, and see it is time for the last story to be reviewed.

"...I'll decide it afterwards..." The Bug murmurs to himself softly, as he got off and went to his reviewing room. Before closing the door after switching off the light, Genesect glances slightly at the Orb, which is glowing in the dark.

The Bug stares at it for a few seconds, and then shuts and locks the door.

Three One-Shots Christmas Special

FINALE

(Genesect is seen to be thinking, with the book on his lap.)

Hello guys and girls and welcome back to the Angry Bug Show...

There's something that's been on my mind since I've started celebrating Christmas. How do you celebrate when one of your closest friends or family has died, and you can't help but think about them?

Christmas is a time of being happy, but what happens when you can help feel but sad?

How do you celebrate the holiday?

(Genesect looks up.)

Well, I haven't got an exact answer to that, but I think I have found a good fic to show that sadness...I think.

(Genesect smiles calmly.)

So, for my last review of the Christmas Special, I present to you:

Story Three:

No One Should Be Alone on Christmas

By G'lek

Winter in Alto Mare was mild. The sea kept the temperature warm and the humidity high. Still, the citizens of the city always managed to have a white Christmas.

Technically, that would result in no snow, as the sea would make the area too warm for snow to settle.

(Genesect shrugs.)

But, I guess they're dreaming of a White Christmas...

Several years, the snow fell on Christmas Eve, leaving the streets white and shimmering for Christmas Day.

That must have been beautiful! That must have been a great Christmas day!

(Genesect looks excited.)

I can't wait for tomorrow!

Christmas in Alto Mare, and in the entire world of Pokemon, is not the same as the Christmas we know. Many of our traditions don't exist in their world.

Ah, the author must have written this from their point of view, if they were looking into our world!

(Genesect looks startled.)

Wow... I broke the fourth wall!

The legend of Santa Claus, Black Peter, timeless classics like The Grinch, and many other things.

(Genesect leans back and grins.)

Yeah...traditional stories of Christmas...

(Genesect becomes startled again.)

Seriously...I shouldn't know these things...I'm breaking the fourth wall here...

However, the people of the Pokemon world had their own legends and traditions. Delibird was featured in many of them.

M . Bison: OF COURSE!

(Genesect is face-palming.)

Why are we using that joke...?

One thing we do share with the people of the world of Pokemon is the tradition of gathering friends and family around a warm fire on Christmas Eve and enjoying the company of those close to us.

(Genesect nods, grinning)

Of course! That's natural on Christmas!

Even among the Pokemon, the act of gathering friends and relatives for an enjoyable evening of companionship was a common activity on Christmas Eve. The Pokemon partnered to humans picked up the tradition from their people and spread it among the wild Pokemon.

Oh, that's pretty cool.

Even some of the Legendaries enjoyed the tradition. Though it was rarely seen, the Legendary Beast Pokemon would all gather, as would the Legendary Bird Pokemon with their mediator, Lugia. Christmas was a time when old grudges and wrongs were forgotten, at least temporarily.

(Genesect nods again.)

Yes, old grudges and old wrongs should be forgotten at Christmas!

(Then, the Bug became nervous.)

However...new ones...not forgotten...

However, Christmas was not a joyful time for everyone. Some had no other to share the time with. Others rejected the companionship of others.

Like Rayquaza from the previous review. He was a prick.

"SHOTS HAVE BEEN FIRED, GENESECT! SHOTS HAVE BEEN FIRED!"

(The Bug sighs.)

Some, like Latias, had lost those who had shared the magical evening with them in times past.

(Genesect became serious.)

…..Now you see why I wanted to review this.

It is here that we join Latias as she spends her first Christmas Eve alone. Wandering the city, looking in windows and seeing humans and Pokemon curled around their fires, and reflecting on what her life had become.

(Genesect blinks.)

Yes...This is set the Christmas after Latios had died, and Latias is feeling sad about it...

Eventually, her path took her to Lorenzo's home. Latias, cloaked, looked in their front window. Bianca and Lorenzo were sitting in two arm chairs around a steady fire, talking companionably.

I hope that fire doesn't hurt them.

Latias watched them for a short time before sinking below the level of the window to lay herself on the snow covered ground. With Latios gone, she had no one to spend the evening with. She was alone. The word rung in her mind, and she could feel the emotions welling up inside her.

(Suddenly, the 'Reminiscence ~ Wandering Heart' track from Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies starts playing.)

Tiny beads of moisture appeared in the corners of her eyes as she lay there, separated from her childhood friend and adopted father by a thin sheet of glass. In her mind, they might as well have been on the other side of the world.

(Genesect sighs.)

It's painful when you lose someone you love. I don't really know the feeling personally, but I can imagine what it is like.

The tears, once flowing, would not stop. Tears for the loss of Latios and the overwhelming sense of loneliness that his absence left. It was in that position that Latias drifted into an uneasy slumber, the warm lift of the fire shining above her head and the snow gently falling.

J.R.R Tolkien: In sorrow we must go, but not in despair. Behold! we are not bound for ever to the circles of the world, and beyond them is more than memory.

The seconds became minutes, which became hours as the fire inside slowly consumed its supply of wood. Eventually, late in the night, Lorenzo finally fed the last log to the fire. As he stood up, he looked to Bianca.

"You should probably get some sleep," he said. "I'm just going to get some more wood for the fire, then I'll be right behind you."

Heh. Bianca should go to sleep so Father Christmas can come to her house!

(Genesect blinks.)

If you want to know, 'Father Christmas' is a term the British call Santa Clause by sometimes. I've been spending too much time with British Pokémon...

"Okay grandpa," Bianca assented. "See you in the morning. And merry Christmas."

"Merry Christmas, Bianca."

Lorenzo watched Bianca go upstairs before putting his jacket on and stepping out into the cold. He stamped his feet to warm them and went to the wood shed. As he returned with the wood in his arms, he spied a strange lump in the snow under one of his windows. Curious, Lorenzo placed the wood by the door and went to investigate. The snow was a large lump with a smaller lump coming out of it. Cautiously, he brushed the snow away from the smaller lump. When the red and white patterning of a familiar head emerged, Lorenzo was shocked.

Of course, it was Latias! From the description that we got in the story, we can safely assume that it's Latias.

He reached out and lay his hand on Latias' neck. It was cold, but not alarmingly so.

(Genesect is taken aback.)

For a moment there, I thought Latias had died there...!

The contact was enough to wake her, and her eyes opened, cheeks still wet from the tears that, even in sleep, still flowed.

(Genesect raises his arms up in the air.)

DON'T BE SAD, LATIAS!

(For some reason, Genesect then fell over.)

"Latias, what are you doing out here?"

Alone, came the word in his head, along with a flood of emotions that followed it into his mind. Latias rarely spoke telepathically, mostly because humans had very closed minds.

Ah...telepathy... The art of speaking through your mind...

(Genesect blinks.)

Wait, aren't I telepathic?

However, Lorenzo's empathy and her own emotional state gave her the strength to overcome that fact.

"Latias, you're never alone. You've got me and Bianca, and even Ash and his friends though they're not here."

Celine Delon: AAAAAAAALLLLLL BBBBBYYYYY MMMMYYYYSEEEELLLFFFF!

"Now," he said, scooping her up in his arms, "lets get you inside out of the cold."

It's a tad chilly.

Lorenzo carried Latias inside and lay her on the couch. She half-slept in the pleasant warmth of the room. Lorenzo retrieved the rest of the firewood and stoked the fire. When the fire was good and warm, he walked over to the couch and sat down, taking Latias' head onto his lap so he could stroke her neck.

I really like the story's detail here, to be honest.

"You can stay here all night," he said to her as she let out a content sigh and began to fall back asleep.

"After all, no one should be alone on Christmas Eve."

(Genesect nods.)

Yes, no one should be alone. And that ends 'No One Should Be Alone On Christmas'.

But, before I say what I think about it, the author of this story left us with a little quote from Dr Suess!

Here it is!

"He puzzled and puzzled till his puzzler was sore.

Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before.

Maybe Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store.

Maybe Christmas, perhaps, means just a little bit more."

Dr. Seuss, The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, 1957

(Genesect nods seriously.)

Yes, Christmas isn't the time of being greedy. It's all about being with the ones you love, no matter what, in a time that is meant to be happy and jolly.

(The Bug chuckles)

And that, this time, ends 'No One Should Be Alone on Christmas'

(He sighs.)

So, what did I think about it?

Well, it's a good short story. It shows the pain of Latias on her first Christmas without Latios, in a perfect way.

It captures the detail and the feelings she had around that time, and the comfort that she receives from the pain.

It's got a lot of descriptive detail.

(Genesect shrugs.)

My only complaint is it's too short. I wanted to see a little more, to see how Latias is coping with the pain, and her spending Christmas with Bianca and Lorenzo.

But, I think that's about it.

(The Bug nods.)

Hmm...I'm going to rate it 3.5 out of 5. It's a good story, but it's painfully short. No offence.

(Genesect is thinking to himself.)

Hmmm...Well, that's about it...

(He grins.)

Well, I'll see you guys and girls later, on the next Angry Bug Show.

I got one bit of wrapping left!

(Genesect walks off the screen.)

The Next Day...

"So here it is, Merry Christmas, everybody's havin' fun! Look to the future now, it's only just begun!"

Christmas Day has finally arrived, and now all the Legendaries (par, well, you know) have turned up to the Hall, to celebrate the holiday.

Everyone is in the festive mood, even the more grumpy Yveltal, who seems to be drunk off Eggnog.

Songs are playing in the main part of the Hall, and some of the Legends are dancing to the songs while others are in general chitchat.

Genesect, wearing a Christmas hat, is watching the whole party while sipping a glass of Oran Berry.

He glances over to see Arceus talking to Giratina about something, Kyurem giving him death glares and for some reason, Intoxiquer looking from the ceiling, having a 'SOON' look on his face.

Later on, around 3 in the afternoon, Mesprit came out of the kitchen to announce the meal was finished, and then all the Legendaries went to sit down to eat.

The meal was delicious.

All sorts of Roast Berries and Meat were spread around the massive table, with different types of gravy, vegetables and sauces to go with the meats and berries. Mint sauce, Horseradish, carrots, potatoes, cabbage, and all different things that go into a roast dinner are there on the table, as per usual.

Genesect ate the meal heartily, but at the same time, at a fast pace. Registeel, who was sitting next to Genesect, got hit by gravy from the Bug's plate at one point.

It was a great meal, and everybody enjoyed it.

Shortly after the roast was done, pudding arrived, which consists of apple crumble, ice cream, Christmas pudding and chocolate fudge cake.

Like the main meal, everyone ate it heartily, and enjoyed it to the fullest.

Once the whole meal was done, it was the present opening time.

Starting in PokéDex order, from Articuno, the presents will be given to them from under the tree to the receiving Legendary, with a name tag from the giving Legendary.

Genesect didn't mind that he had to wait to later to get his share of presents. One of the things he loved about Christmas is to give the presents to the intended receiver and see the joy that they got from the said present.

His time for presents will come, but not now. At the moment, he's watching Latias open a present from Rayquaza, grinning.

Darkrai nudges the Bug, who turns his head slightly.

"...Yeah?" he whispers to the Nightmare Legendary.

"Did you take my advice about the Wish Bringer?" Darkrai asks, quietly.

The Bug nods.

"Yeah...I did."

"Really?"

"Yeah. I had a thought about it. Keldeo may be gone but he's coming back one day. Latios, however, can't come back at all to Latias.

It's been a long time since he's died. I hope he's up to what everyone says he is."

Darkrai nods, remembering something.

"You never met him...Did you?"

"Shh!"

Genesect is paying attention to what Latias is opening next. She opens up her present, and turns out it's the Wish Bringer from Genesect.

"Huh?" she goes, unsure what it is. "What's this?"

"My..." Heatran remarks, surprised at this. "I haven't seen one of them in ages!"

Jirachi is smirking to himself, but is staying silent.

"I do believe that is a Wish Bringer Orb." Ho-Oh comments, looking at the bright Orb. "It can only work when it is given to someone as a present."

"So, what does it do?" Latias questions, looking at it.

"Heh..." Landorus chuckles to himself. "It is said that it will grant the receiver's most hearted wanted thing in the world."

"Really?"

"So what do you want, Latias?!" one of the other Legends yells, asking on what Latias wants.

Latias stares at the Orb, not sure what she wants.

Then, suddenly, the Orb glows brighter than normal, and it become too hot to handle. Reacting to the pain, Latias drops the Orb onto the floor.

The Orb stays where it lands, and begins to spin round on that spot, increasingly getting faster and faster.

The Orb's glow also begins to brighten intensify, getting brighter and brighter by the second.

Then, when it got so bright that no one could see any more, a suddenly flash blinds everyone, and then the brightness instantly disappears.

Once everyone had got their sight back, a shocking, and even more shocking to Latias, sight was to be seen.

Latios is floating where the Wish Bringer Orb was once placed, blinking in a confused manner.

"Umm..." Latios looks round the Hall, in a confused manner, not sure what's happening.

"Why is everyone looking shocked?"

Then, all of Latios' friends gang-piled onto the Eon Legend, with Latias crying with tears of joy from see her brother back from the dead.

Giratina, looking utterly astonished from what happened, smiles to him. Everyone else cheered.

Genesect smirks to himself as he watches the happy reunion from afar.

"That was a bold move of yours, Bug."

"Hmm?" Genesect looks up from pouring himself glass of Oran Berry juice at Rayquaza, who, for once, was smiling in a kind matter.

"What do you mean?"

"Heh..." Rayquaza sips his drink of Irish Whiskey. "That Wish Bringer Orb stunt of yours certainly has made someone very happy this Christmas."

The Bug shakes his head.

"I don't know what you're talking about..."

"I overheard you talking to Darkrai about it, just before your first review." Rayquaza remarks, wistfully. "True, it would have made the Swords and Meloetta happy, but at least who they were missing isn't dead. Latios wasn't.

I believe you made the right decision in the end."

Genesect shrugs his shoulders. "I don't want to take credit for it. After all, Christmas is meant to be spent with friends and family, and Latios is Latias' brother. He should be here for her, that's what I think."

Rayquaza nods. "Yeah. Christmas is meant to be spent with family."

Suddenly, a bang is heard, and Intoxiquer appears out from no where, and flies into Genesect's face.

"BRO!" The Crobat yells, scared. "YOU GOT TO HELP ME!"

"What is it?!"

"YVELTAL'S AFTER ME!"

Genesect sighs.

"Oh for goodness sake...And this is why I took a break..."
