It took loads of doing, but I was able to find a replacement computer. Now I just have to pray it survives staying with me. As an apology for the wait, have two chapters for the price of one!

~VS the Champion!~

"Alright, basic six-on-six rules: the first to have all of their Pokémon fall unconscious is the loser."

"I know that. Now hurry up and send out your Pokémon."

"On the count of three, we'll both send out our first Pokémon. One…two…three!"

In a flash of light, Eve and Aoi appeared on the battlefield. I gulped at the sight of the fully-evolved Mienshao, who had parts of his body a reddish pink color. It figures that Black would start off with a Fighting type, the one that half of my team is weak to—just like how I chose to lead with an Ice type, knowing that's what half of his team was weak to.

"Guess I'moff to a lucky start! Aoi, use Fake Out!" Aoi lost the usual dreamy look on his face, dashed towards Eve like a blur, and violently clapped her face between his paws, causing the Glaceon to flinch in the face of her opponent. "Now, Jump Kick!" The Mienshao jumped back, then he performed a flying kick.

"Use Barrier!" Shimmering, transparent walls formed around Eve for a moment before Aoi's foot made impact against her. The kick sent her skidding across the floor, but she remained standing. "Hail!" With a howl, dark clouds formed above the battlefield, causing snow and chunks of ice to fall. In the blink of an eye, Eve disappeared from sight.

"Aoi, Swords Dance!" The Mienshao whipped his long sleeves of fur about in a manner that seemed both frenzied and graceful. "Keep an ear out for her. Who knows where she could be?" Before Aoi closed his eyes in concentration, a chunk of ice hit him from above.

"Icy Wind!"

"Detect!" As a cold wind blew from behind Aoi, he sidestepped the attack and immediately whirled around. "Jump Kick!" He spryly jumped forward foot first and ended up hitting nothing.

"Ice Shard!" Quicker than the Mienshao could react, several large chunks of ice were fired at him, hitting him in the leg. "Now use Blizzard!"

"Bounce!" Aoi jumped high up into the air seconds before a powerful wave of cold wind blew over the spot he'd been standing in.

"Blizzard again!" Another powerful cold wind blew up at the falling Mienshao. But he dealt with the pain and landed on top of the spot where Eve seemed to be, judging by the cry of pain that followed.

"Use Drain Punch!" With a glowing green paw, the Fighting type struck beneath him and his body momentarily glowed bright green. Seconds afterwards, Eve's unconscious body was revealed, and a large hunk of ice hit Aoi on the head, stunning him for a moment. "One loss for you."

"I don't need you keeping count," I said as I returned Eve to her ball. I immediately sent out Mars to replace her. Mienshao is only a Fighting type, so while I couldn't use Bug type attacks, I could rely on his Poison type moves. "Toxic!"

"Detect!" As Mars sent a spray of thick purple liquid Aoi's way, the Mienshao ducked to avoid getting hit with it. "Acrobatics!" He then began nimbly flipping and jumping towards Mars, moving so fast that he left an afterimage.

"Protect!" A transparent shield appeared in front of Mars for a brief moment before Aoi ended up crashing into it. "Poison Jab!" The tips of the Scolipede's horns glowed bright purple before he used them to stab Black's Pokémon in the chest.

"Stone Edge!" Aoi jumped away from Mars and struck the floor with his paw. The ground shook for a few seconds before Mars sidestepped the large chunk of rock that jutted out of the spot he had once been standing in. "Swift!" The Mienshao spun around, releasing a barrage of stars upon Mars from his long fur.

"Poison Jab!" The Scolipede lowered his head, take the blows from the stars before he charged at the Fighting type.

"Detect!" But Aoi responded by jumping over Mars and landing behind him.

"Poison Tail!" The tips of Mars's rear stingers glowed a sickly purple before he rammed his rear end into Aoi's back. The Mienshao cried in pain, as if the attack had hit a weak point, before he fell forward. He struggled to move for a few seconds before giving a sigh and fainting. "Now it's one loss for you."

"Yeah, yeah," Black said with a smile on his face as he returned Aoi to his ball. Was he actually enjoying this? "C'mon, Francisca!" He sent out his Haxorus next, who roared for a few seconds before her eyes landed on Mars. Then she began to look away from him, as if he wasn't worth her attention. That's right: she had Rivalry as her ability, so she'd naturally do less damage against a male Scolipede. "Dragon Pulse!" Francisca reared her head back and fired a dragon-head beam of blue energy at Mars, hitting him in the chest.

"Toxic!" Mars sprayed at the Haxorus with a thick, poisonous liquid, but she ended up sidestepping the poison.

"Incinerate!" Francisca charged forward, breathing a steady stream of fire out of her mouth at Mars. He attempted to dodge, but he got caught by the flames. "Try Guillotine!" With a roar, the Haxorus tackled into Mars while he was still reeling from the last attack, slamming into him with one of her axe-like tusks. Mars didn't even get the chance to cry out in pain before he just fell over, having been knocked out from the blow.

"Seriously? What're the chances…?" I asked as I recalled Mars. I then sent out Killia to replace him. The two large dragons stared each other down before I gave a command first. "Scary Face!" The Zweilous began hissing at the Haxorus, two pairs of glowing red eyes brightening up behind their mops of fur. Francisca took a step back, mildly disturbed at first before she began growling in annoyance.

"Swords Dance!" Francisca began swiping at the air with her claws as she swung her head about, causing her tusks and claws to glow bright blue for a brief moment.

"Work Up!" Killia began stomping the ground in a rhythm as both of his heads cheered, a red aura radiating from him briefly. "Dragon Pulse!"

"Dual Chop!" As Killia fired a dragon-headed beam of purple energy at her, Francisca took the full brunt of the attack without trying to defend herself against it. In fact, she tried to push back against it using her own physical prowess. It wasn't until Killia stopped using the attack that she was allowed to charge forward—as quickly as she could under the effects of Scary Face—before she ran towards the Zweilous. She swung her head twice, hitting both of Killia's heads with her tusks in the process. "Dragon Claw!" She then followed up with right hook that left Lefty in a bit of a daze, but still conscious.

"Dragon Rush!" The Zweilous's body became surrounded by a purple, dragon-shaped aura before slamming his body against the Haxorus, sending her stumbling backwards. Before I could make my next command, Killia made a noise of confusion and began to glow bright white.

"It's time! Yay!" Righty cheered.

"That was quick, but not quick enough. I'm sick of listening to you," said Lefty.

Eventually, Killia was engulfed in a flash of light, his body changing shape and growing even bigger. Eventually, the light dispersed, revealing a very big Hydreigon—bigger than the one owned by Ghetsis that had become burned into my head—that started flapping its wings and rose up off of the ground. "Who's ready…to get torn to shreds?!" The newly evolved Killia shouted.

"Well…things just got serious," said Black. "Francisca, Draco Meteor!" Francisca jumped back and opened her mouth wide, revealing a buildup of orange energy in the back of her throat as her body started glowing the same color.

"You, too! Draco Meteor!" Killia raised his head and began doing the same. Eventually, they both fired orange spheres up into the air, which exploded and became a shower of flaming rocks. When the rocks landed, they created a lot of dust and smoke that momentarily hid the battlefield. After the dust cleared, it was revealed that both Killia and Francisca were both sprawled out on the ground, clearly unconscious. "A double knock-out. I can't believe this…!" I said as I returned my Hydreigon to his ball. "But if you hadn't evolved, it would've been worse. Thanks, Killia."

"Don't be too mad when you wake up. Considering the circumstances, a double-KO is pretty good," Black spoke to Francisca's ball after he had recalled her as well.

At the same time, we both took out our next Pokémon's balls and sent them out at the same time. I had chosen Panacea while Black had chosen Aegis, now a fully-evolved Golurk—which was essentially a much taller, bulkier Golett capable of flying. So far, I had three losses. I had to even it up now, before things could get worse. First things first… "Use Entrainment!" Panacea sighed in dismay and began doing a little dance. Aegis bent over, seemingly interested in what she was doing before he began to clumsily imitate her movements.

"You think you're pretty clever, don't ya? But he can do more than punch! Heavy Slam!"

"Protect!" Aegis raised a fist and slammed it down on Panacea in an attempt to crush her, but it ended up bouncing back against the transparent shield that formed around her for a moment. "Ice Beam!" The Audino held her paws out in front of her and they began glowing bright blue before she fired a beam a cold energy into the Automaton Pokémon's face, causing him to get a layer of frost on his head.

"Block with Fire Punch!" One of the Golurk's fists caught on fire and he brought it between his face and Panacea's attack, causing water to trickle down his hand and form a puddle on the floor. "Earthquake!" With his other hand, Aegis pounded the floor, creating a shockwave that hit Panacea, knocking her off balance.

"Shadow Ball!" Panacea formed a ball of shadowy energy between her paws before firing it at Aegis's torso. The impact of the attack seemed to stun Aegis for a few seconds, allowing the Audino to put some distance between them before he recovered.

"Hammer Arm!"

"Protect!" A transparent barrier appeared around Panacea as Aegis charged towards her. When he brought his fist down on it, however, the barrier shattered, crushing the Audino underneath it. When Aegis raised his hand, he revealed an unconscious Panacea lying in a small crater of his own making. "Aw, geez…! He was just too strong for her…" I said as I returned the Audino to her ball. "If I hadn't been so proud, I'd have swapped you for Shion." Now I had two Pokémon left while Black had four.

"If you're having a tough time, you can always forfeit," Black spoke up. "There's no shame in letting me do all the work if this is the best you can do."

I frowned and adjusted my hat. "Never!"

"Atta girl!" Black said with a smile. "You don't wanna lose, and I don't want this fight to end so quickly! So, until the end, give it all you've got!" He really was enjoying this. Was that even good behavior as a champion?

"You're gonna regret those words when I beat you!" I shouted before sending out Shion. "Scald!" The Samurott leaned forward and sprayed Black's Golurk with steaming hot water. He was harmed by the attack, but it hadn't been enough to knock him out. However, it looked like he was on his last leg from the way his eyes flickered.

"Well, if we're gonna go out… Use Curse." Suddenly, Aegis groaned in pain before large black spikes jutted out of parts of his body. As he fell to his knees and fainted, similar spikes suddenly jutted out of Shion's body, causing her to cry out in pain before they faded away.

"That's gonna be troublesome," I commented as Black returned his unconscious Golurk to his ball. In a flash of light, Black's Unfezant, Valentine appeared on the battlefield, spreading her tail feathers before she took flight. "And now it's gotten worse…!" I remember Black once telling me that Valentine had the ability Rivalry as well, meaning her attack power would be boosted. "Time to take the initiative. Shion, Aqua Jet!"

"Quick Attack!" The Samurott became enveloped in water and shot up at the Unfezant like a rocket, who flew into her like a blur. On impact, Valentine was sent tumbling upwards, but recovered in midair, while Shion landed on the ground and flinched as the black spikes of Aegis's Curse appeared again for a few seconds.

"Swords Dance!"

"Taunt!"

"Are you really so weak that you need to do that?" Valentine taunted as she circled around Shion from above as the Samurott drew her seamitars. "Or are you just that scared of me?" Shion narrowed eyes and growled, not bothering to do the move I told her to in favor of glaring up at the Unfezant until the spikes popped up once more, making her flinch.

"Ice Beam!"

"Detect!" As Shion fired a beam of ice cold energy from her mouth, Valentine quickly moved out of the way. "Return!" The Unfezant cawed before she swooped down, her body glowing with a white aura.

"Aqua Jet!" Water enveloped Shion before she shot up at Valentine, meeting her halfway. When they collided, Shion cried out in pain. "Aerial Ace, sword style!" Still in midair, the Samurott drew her seamitars at an amazingly quick speed, attacking her opponent with an upward slash and following up with a downward slash that knocked Valentine down to the floor before she fell in the same way, landing on her back. Seconds afterwards, the Aegis's curse reared its ugly head once more, causing Shion to cry out in pain before she rolled onto her feet again. At the same time, Valentine had gotten back on her feet and took to the air once more.

"Air Slash!" The bird Pokémon flapped her wings frantically, sending blades of air down at Shion.

"Use Scald!" Even as some of the wind blades hit her, Shion managed to spray scalding hot water up at Valentine. "Ice Beam!"

"Detect!" But Black's Unfezant ended up moving a few seconds too late and ended up getting hit by a beam of cold energy. The attack caused thick ice to form around Valentine's body, completely freezing her. Even as she fell to the floor, the ice didn't break. "…What're the chances?" Black said as he recalled his frozen Pokémon to her ball. "There, there, Valentine…"

I didn't get the chance to give a sigh of relief before Shion cried out in pain when the black spikes appeared all over her body again and then disappeared. She started panting heavily, but stopped after a few seconds. Thanks in part to that curse, Shion was probably an attack or two away from fainting when Black still had two Pokémon left. Speaking of which, Black sent out Edwin next, the Espeon looking quite confident in himself in the face of his opponent.

"Aqua Jet!" The Samurott became enveloped in water before flying towards the Espeon. She tackled headfirst into him, shoving him back before she flinched in pain as the curse took effect.

"Sunny Day!" The gem on Edwin's head shone as sparkles of white light rose up from his body. The sparkles gathered together above the battlefield before combing to create a false sun radiating intense sunlight.

"Megahorn!" Shion lowered her head and charged forward, ramming against the Espeon's body with the horn on her head. I had hoped that the forced of the attack would be enough to knock Edwin out, but no such luck. He had been knocked down, but he was still moving.

"Morning Sun!" Edwin raised his head and cried out, causing a beam of light to shine down on him from the false sun. His body shimmered for a moment before most of the injuries he sustained healed up. "Now use Psychic!" With a cry from the Espeon, a burst of psychic energy hit Shion, knocking her down once and for all.

I sighed and recalled the Samurott. "You always try your hardest, and I'm always grateful for that." As I put away her Poké Ball, I berated myself. I should've seen that Morning Sun coming and gotten Shion to use Rain Dance to stop the sunlight Edwin had created. Still, he hadn't managed to heal up entirely—the little scuff marks and scratches still visible on his body confirmed that. "Tiny, get out there and do your best!"

The Raichu saluted me as he put on a serious expression. "I'll net us the win!" He exclaimed before running out onto the battlefield.

"First, use Double Team and Quick Attack!"

"Copy with Psych Up and use Quick Attack, too!" As Tiny began to make copies of himself, so did Edwin. When each had created some copies of themselves, they all dashed at one another. As flashy as it all looked, though, neither one managed to hit their target and ended up only taking out a few copies, leaving three of each on the field.

"Use Swift!" We both shouted at the same time. Tiny flicked his tail and fired a barrage of stars at Edwin, dispersing the copies and hitting the real Espeon. Soon after, the gem on Edwin's head glowed and fired a ray of stars, doing the same thing.

"Thunderbolt!"

"Detect!" Tiny charged up, electricity crackling all over his body before he unleashed a bolt of electricity to shock Edwin with. But before the attack hit, the Espeon nimbly jumped aside, causing it to hit the ground instead. "Light Screen!" His body then became surrounded by a multi-colored light for a moment before it could fade away.

"Brick Break!" Tiny ran over to Edwin and used his tail to strike his opponent's back from above. Although the attack itself didn't seem very damaging, the impact of his blow causing the colored light to appear around the Espeon once more before it shattered like glass. "Thunder Punch!" He then followed up with an electrified uppercut that knocked Edwin off his feet and made him land on his back. But he was back up quickly and put some distance between himself and Tiny.

"Psychic!" A burst of psychic energy from behind caused Tiny to stumble forward before he fell to the floor.

"Electro Ball!" Getting on all fours, a ball of electricity crackled to life around Tiny's tail, and with a flick, he sent it flying into Edwin.

"Morning Sun!"

"Rain Dance!" As Edwin looked up to the sun he had created, Tiny looked up at the ceiling and cried out. As I dreaded which one's move was going to take effect first, dark clouds formed around the false sun, causing its light to dim before it dispersed into sparkles of fading light. As it began to rain, a thin beam of light shone down on Edwin from above, but the exposure didn't patch him up as well as it had before. In fact, he looked about ready to drop. "Use Thunderbolt!" Tiny took a deep breath before trying to zap Edwin with another bolt of electricity.

"Detect!" Despite his injured state, the Espeon nimbly dodged the thunderbolt again. "Psychic!" Another burst of psychic energy hit the Raichu from the side, knocking him over.

"Thunder!" Electricity crackled around Tiny's body, and with a shout, he unleashed a large bolt of electricity up into the clouds. For a split second, thunder boomed before an even larger thunderbolt fell from the clouds and hit Edwin with an even louder boom. The Espeon didn't even get a moment to cry out in pain—that attack knocked him out the instant it hit. "Now! Now! Eat the berry!" Tiny made a noise of confusion before he took out the Sitrus berry that he had stashed on him and began eating it.

Black kept smiling as he returned Edwin into his ball. "The end is near, White! It's times like these that are the most exciting, don't you think?" If by exciting, you mean 'nerve-wracking,' then yes, it's really exciting. "I'm counting on you, Kaito!" He shouted as he sent out his Samurott. At that time, Tiny had finished eating the berry whole and put his game face back on. "Alright, use Aqua Jet!" Kaito became enveloped in water and rocketed towards Tiny. He tackled into the Raichu, sending him flying backwards, but Tiny recovered and landed on his feet with surprising grace. It was pretty impressive considering that it was still raining, so the attack's power had been boosted.

"Thunder!" Kaito had Battle Armor as his ability, so I couldn't rely on using weaker attacks and getting lucky landing attacks with a tad more oomph than usual. Especially not when Tiny wasn't in peak condition after fighting Edwin. Once again, Tiny fired a large bolt of electricity up into the rainclouds, and a larger bolt fell from them and hit Kaito. However, instead of crying out in pain or getting knocked out, Kaito took it like a champ without showing the slightest hint that he was in pain. And after the attack had finished, it was revealed why as his body glowed with a bright red aura and something small fell off of him. "What's that…? A battery?"

"A cell battery, to be precise," said Black. "If the Pokémon holding it gets hit with an Electric type attack, it'll absorb the electricity and transfer its power to them! Although it's only good for one use, I'm glad we actually got to use that thing!"

"One use, huh?" That was a relief. I wasn't sure if Tiny could overpower Kaito if Electric type moves were out of the question. I'm surprised Black was nice enough to explain, but maybe he just wanted to win without me being confused by unfamiliar things. "Not that he's gonna win," I muttered to myself.

"Waterfall!"

"Electro Ball!" The Samurott ran towards Tiny as ball-shaped electricity formed around the end of his tail. With a cry, he flung the ball at Kaito, who took the attack to his face without flinching or stopping. When he was finally close enough, water enveloped Kaito and he knocked Tiny up into the air with his horn, then quickly followed him up there with a spinning jump that led to him headbutting the Raichu in his stomach. "Thunder!" Tiny fired a bolt of electricity up into the clouds again while he was still behind pushed further up into the air by Kaito's Waterfall. Seconds later, with the sound of a thunderclap, a large lightning bolt hit both of our Pokémon and sent them falling back down to floor, where they landed a few feet away from each other as the rainclouds cleared. "Well, that ends that strategy," I said as both Tiny and Kaito got back on their feet, clearly exhausted, but carrying a fire in their eyes.

"So, it's come to this, huh?" Black said, the look in his eyes the same as his Pokémon's. "Kaito, Hydro Pump!"

"Thunder!" Kaito opened his mouth and fired a large bullet of water at Tiny as Tiny unleashed a giant bolt of electricity at Kaito. Their attacks zoomed past one another and hit their targets: Tiny was knocked down by the Hydro Pump as Kaito collapsed under the might of the Thunder. But after a few seconds of tense silence, they both got back on their feet. They both really wanted to win this badly, huh? Then, after a few seconds, Kaito collapsed and fell over. He wasn't unconscious, but he was in no shape to keep fighting. Tiny was technically in a similar shape, but he was still on his feet, prepared to keep going if he had to. It took a little while before I realized what that meant. "We won," I spoke quietly. "Oh, my gosh, WE WON!" I shouted happily, even going so far as to jump for joy.

As if those were the keywords, Tiny sat down on the floor and promptly fell onto his back. "Yay…" He spoke, sounding exhausted.

I ran over to the Raichu and picked him up to hug him. "You were amazing! You are amazing! You're the best Pokémon in the whole wide world!"

"Thank you, but I'm tender right now, so please hug me a little less tightly…"

I watched as Black approached Kaito, who was now crying as he looked heartbroken. "I lost… I'm sorry…" The Samurott apologized.

Black smiled and kneeled next to his Pokémon, stroking Kaito's head. "What're you crying for? You were awesome, and you fought hard until the end. You really proved why you're my ace." Motivated by the compliment, Kaito regained the fire in his eyes. "White. Congratulations."

"…Thanks." I gave a small smile while feeling unsure of how to react. I'd beaten the Pokémon League and defeated my brother shortly after he achieved his childhood dream. I should've felt awful about it, but the smile that Black was giving me made me feel better about my victory. "Not gonna say that I was just lucky?"

"Eh. Who knows?" Black said with a shrug. "Maybe your Pokémon were stronger, or your strategies were better, or you really were just lucky…all of those can be factors when it comes to Pokémon battles. But at the end of the day, you won and I lost. But we'll both take the experience and use it to become better trainers."

"That's nice… You got most of that from that Grimsley guy, didn't you?" I pointed out.

"I'm sorry if I haven't been at this long enough to impart my own words of wisdom on you!" Black then got up, walked up to me and took off my hat. He then started to ruffle my hair playfully. "I'm so proud of my little sister!"

"We're on this again? After all this time? You are not the older sibling here," I said, letting him keep ruffling my hair.

"Bravo! What an impressive battle!" Alder exclaimed as he approached us all. I'd actually forgotten that he was here because of how deeply I'd gotten into the battle. "Both you and your Pokémon performed admirably. You all looked like you were having a lot of fun out there!" He then took out a pair of Sitrus berries from out of nowhere and handed them to Tiny and Kaito, who happily accepted and ravenously ate them.

"So, uh… Am I the champion now?" I asked, arching an eyebrow.

"Well, that depends on what the reigning champion wants to do." Alder then looked at Black.

"Well…do you want the position?" Black asked slowly. "Because you can have it if you want it. Or! Or we can share it!"

"Twin reigning champions… Why not? If it's allowed for gyms to have more than one gym leader, I see no reason why we can't have a pair of trainers serving as the current champions of one Pokémon League together," Alder spoke as if he were seriously considering that course of action.

"First of all, I can think of several reasons. Secondly, have you not been listening to me this entire journey? I don't wanna be the champion!" I snapped. Besides, it was only because of our current circumstances that I challenged the Pokémon League to begin with. If it wasn't for N and Team Plasma, I'd probably stuck to waiting for Black in the Pokémon Center, or exploring the rest of the region without him.

"Aw, and I liked the sound of it…" Said Alder, sounding disappointed. "Oh! But you're not done yet! There's something that the champion has to do with you."

Black made a noise of confusion before his eyes widened. "Oh, right. Uh, come with me." He returned Kaito to his Poké Ball, grabbed my hand, and pulled me up a set of stairs and into a room at the back of the one we had battled in. He led me into a place supported by large stone pillars, and at the back of it was a platform where a single computer stood. In front of the computer was a large bowl of sorts with six round slots. "Welcome to the Hall of Fame!" Black announced as he threw his arms open with a flourish. "Here, all of the trainers and Pokémon who've defeated the Pokémon League with the combined might of their strength and bonds are remembered. You and your Pokémon have earned your place alongside all of the other victors! All you've got to do is put your Poké Balls in there and let the computer do the rest."

Silently, I returned Tiny into his ball, believing that he needed a good rest after his hard work, and put back on my hat. Then, one by one, I placed all of my Pokémon into the slots and watched as the computer screen lit up. I was unable to hide my excitement as the images appeared onscreen…

We soon left the room and met back up with Alder. "Once again, congratulations to the both of you. Although I've lost my title, I'm not bitter about it. I'm glad to have seen the rise of two talented trainers!" He sighed and looked up at the ceiling. "I had wanted to show the bond of my Pokémon and I to N, so he could realize the outrageousness of his dreams and Team Plasma's goals. But now, it seems that responsibility has been transferred to you. I hate to put even more of a burden on you, but please let him know that separating people from Pokémon will lead to nothing good."

"Is that so?" The sound of a familiar voice caused all of us to turn and look at the entrance to the building. N stood at the head of the steps, staring at us with a look of amusement on his face. "This is a surprise," he began as he walked towards us. "I expected that I would have to defeat Alder before you, but it seems you've both claimed his title."

"Both?" I asked before Black grabbed my arm to shut me up.

"That's right. You're looking at the twin champions of the Unova League." I stared at him in confusion until N spoke again.

"Then after I've beaten you, I'll be able to command the trainers of Unova to free their Pokémon without fear of any opposition."

"You seriously think no one's gonna do something against you even if we lose?" I asked, getting annoyed by N's confidence.

"Even if they fight back, it will all be futile. If Kyurem can defeat both Reshiram and Zekrom, there is no one who can stand up to him. But of course, I'm giving you both the chance to show me if your beliefs are stronger than my own." He took a look around and frowned. "But this is no suitable place for the legendary dragons to do battle." He looked down at the Xtransceiver he was wearing and pressed a few buttons. "It's time," was all he said before hanging up on the call.

All of a sudden, the building began to shake as loud noises came from outside. Cracks began forming in the floor beneath us and along the walls. For safety's sake, Black, Alder and I ran out of the way as the floor gave way and seemingly half of the entire building fell to pieces, completely exposing us to what had been happening outside. A building that was tall and wide was actually rising from the ground and surrounding the place we were in, and perhaps the entire Pokémon League. When it finally stopped rising, it had managed to block the light from the setting sun.

"What on earth is that?!" I asked the question that was surely on everyone's minds.

"What you see is Team Plasma's castle. It was built underground, beneath the Pokémon League in preparation for this day," N explained as he looked at us, now appearing serious. "From there, the words of the king will resound from on high to all below."

"Seriously?! You went so far as to destroy a building just so you could feel high and mighty?!" I snapped.

"In the world I will create, there will be no need for a Pokémon League." Before I could say anything more, a large staircase suddenly extended from the castle and landed on the floor behind us. N continued to speak as he walked around the three of us, "We'll decide what future awaits the world in the castle: one where Pokémon will be liberated from people, or one where Pokémon and people will live together. It will all depend on whose beliefs are stronger…" He stopped in front of the stairs and looked back at us. "And the result will change the world."

As N proceeded up the stairs, Black and I looked at each other and nodded. "Right… I guess it's time," said Black as he began adjusting his cap.

"I guess so…" Finally, the time had come for us to face N and decide the fate of the region—and maybe even the world.

"Good luck, you two," said Alder. "And please…defeat N and show him the error of his beliefs!"

"Right!" We both spoke as we approached the stairs and began making our way up, side by side, into N's castle.

Notes!

Mienshao learns Swords Dance, Acrobatics and Stone Edge via TM. Haxorus learns Incinerate via TM and Draco Meteor via move tutor. Hydreigon learns Draco Meteor via move tutor. Golurk learns Fire Punch via move tutor. Samurott learns Ice Beam, Aerial Ace and Waterfall via TM/HM. Espeon learns Sunny Day via TM. Raichu learns Rain Dance and Brick Break via TM.

Aerial Ace's Japanese name translates to "Swallow Return," being named for a sword technique of Sasaki Kojiro called the "Turning Swallow Cut" that's performed in the same manner as the move's animations in the game.

Shell Armor, Rivalry and Magic Bounce are the hidden abilities of Black's Samurott (Kaito), Unfezant (Valentine), and Espeon (Edwin). All three are also the first three Pokémon that Black obtains.

A Cell Battery absorbs an Electric type-damaging move that hits its holder and also increases their attack power by one stage, but at the cost of consuming it. In BW, they can only be exchanged for BP on the Battle Subway, but have a slim chance of being held by wild Minun and Plusle (ORAS only), wild Geodude, Graveler and Charjabug (SM), or dropped by Emolga after being ambushed by it (also SM).

There are 156 Pokémon in the local Pokédex for Unova in BW (including Victini, who's numbered #000). White has seen 146 because she has only seen two of Unova's legendary Pokémon, meaning she's missing ten. The plus is because Blu can't keep track of all the non-Unova Pokémon she's had appear in this story.

Remember to review for Blu and Raichu (and Reshiram and Zekrom, too)!
