Things had finally quieted down. Ana was asleep in the bedroom, and on her second bag of fluids. The medicine to control her nausea was dripping in the second IV, slow but sure. Her blood pressure which started out at 88/52 was up to 90/60. Her heart rate had started out at 96, was now down to 80. Taylor had been upset that they had no baseline to compare it to, for all they knew, her normal blood pressure might be 90/60. Then again, she might run 120/80 and be running significantly lower. Her heart rate, although within normal limits seemed high compared to her blood pressure. It was good that it had come down. Sawyer shuddered to think what Grey's blood pressure must be, he was so volatile, it only stood to reason his blood pressure would have wild fluctuations as well.
Taylor was working on the expense account in their adjoining room with the door open when he suddenly stood up and walked over to Sawyer showing him his phone. Sawyer read the text from Gail about Flynn entering the hotel with a policeman and look up at Taylor, who is frowning.
"I don't know what Flynn is up to, but this isn't good. I need to tell the boss."
He knocks on the open bedroom door gently, and sees Grey's head pop up. As quietly as he can, he makes his way to Grey's side and shows him the text. Grey swings his feet down to the floor, sits up and grabs Taylor's phone.
He reads it and shrugs his shoulders and gestures with his palm up, "So? Who cares?"
"Sir, I think it more than likely they are headed here."
Before Grey can reply, there is a brisk knock on the door and a man calls out in Spanish, "Policia."
Grey stands and nods to Taylor to let them in. Taylor signals Sawyer while he and Grey exit the bedroom and shut the door.
A very excited Flynn comes charging into the room, "Where is she, Christian?" he demands, as he looks frantically around the room.
"Where is who?" Christian asks calmly.
"Where is Ana? What have you done to her?" Flynn asks, obviously upset and angry.
"Ana, my fiancée ? And this concerns you because?"
"She's my patient. I am concerned for her well being."
Christian's jaw drops open. He is speechless. He starts to correct Flynn as to his employment status but Flynn gets right in his face, demanding to know where Ana is. Taylor takes a step towards Flynn who immediately warns the policeman to be careful, as Taylor is armed.
Suddenly, the situation changes. The police officer might have been mildly amused with the gringos before, but now he is deadly serious. He draws his weapon. He orders Taylor to put his hands in the air and efficiently cuffs him. Then, he proceed to disarm him. He calls for back up on his cell phone. Keeping his weapon trained on Grey and Sawyer, the officer waits for assistance.
Flynn meanwhile, decides to explore and quickly finds Ana. He advises the police officer she has been drugged and starts towards her. Grey fucking explodes. He explains Ana is under the care of Dr Santiago and the doctor should be called before anyone touches her IV. to look in his wallet for the permit. Grey is demanding someone call Dr Santiago. He is also demanding the President of Ecuador be notified that he is being detained. Taylor is starting to become really irritated and very impatient. As of one of the officers elbows him as he passes, he jerks his foot out and trips him. Two other officers take him down and start pounding the shit out of him, when suddenly there is silence. All eyes go to the bedroom door, where Ana stands pushing an IV pole in front of her and looking all around the room.
The police are staring at her as if she is a vision from heaven. They start tripping over themselves, apologizing, introducing themselves and gazing at her with adoration.
Flynn immediately approaches her and says, "Anastasia! Thank God! What did he do? Did he drug you? Did he kidnap you?"
"Flynn! What are you talking about? " Then she looked at the policeman who was still on his feet. The other two were still on top of Taylor. "Why are you here?" she asked.
"Can we speak privately, Senorita?"
"No. Either my fiancee or one of my security people has to be present."
"Your fiancee?" The policeman repeated.
Ana held up her hand and flashed her huge ring, "Yes, my fiancee, Christian Grey. Perhaps you've heard of him?"
"Who is your doctor?"
"Dr Gaby. You should call her. Did Flynn mention I fired him today?"
"No, Senorita, he did not mention that."
"She's been brainwashed. You have to help me get her out of here!" Flynn shouted at the policeman.
"Flynn. I am not going anywhere."
"Ana. Please. Think. You can't go on like this. You can't marry Christian Grey." Then in a softer, more compassionate voice he added, "You have to trust me Ana. I dont want to be the one to tell you this, but you must know in your heart, you can't have this baby, Ana. You're just not ready yet. I am so sorry, but right now, being pregnant is a death sentence. You need to terminate this pregnancy, Ana. You're not ready for this. Maybe when you're older..." Grey, still handcuffed, lunged at Flynn, muttering all kinds of threats.
Tears streamed down Ana's face, as she stared at Flynn, "You're wrong, John. I am having this baby. Christian and I are happy. What is wrong with you? Why are you being like this? Why can't you be happy for us? I don't understand."
The policeman who originally accompanied Flynn, Officer Aguayo, was busily talking to Dr Santiago. Actually, he was doing more listening than talking. Dr Santiago apparently knew exactly who Christian Grey was. Suddenly Ana started to weave back and forth. Grey screamed and Ana slid to the floor in an apparent faint. Officer Aguayo started to approach but Christian went ballistic, explaining if he touched her, she could die. Flynn stood, seemingly unable to move as he watched her slide to the floor, making all three handcuffed men furious.
"Why didn't you catch her?" Taylor demanded.
But Flynn couldn't answer as he suddenly found himself handcuffed by officer Aguayo and watched as Grey and Sawyer were released. Taylor was left on the floor, still handcuffed but now his feet were cuffed too. He maneuvered himself to a sitting position against the wall where he could see and hear, blood dripping from his bottom lip, smirking as a protesting Flynn begged Christian to listen to him.
"Christian! Please! You're the only one who can help me!" Flynn pleaded.
Christian turned his attention for a moment from Ana to Flynn. In a dark voice, almost devoid of emotion, he replied, "You want to murder my child? I will destroy you just for the mere suggestion. No one hurts what's mine. You know that. You know what I am capable of, I ..."
"Please Christian, trust me." a tearful Flynn begged.
A disgusted Christian looked at him with loathing."How could I ever trust you again?" he asked pointedly, then turned his attention back to Ana.
Suddenly Taylor understood. He whistled to get the officers attention and asked them to sit Flynn next to him. The officers were only to happy to comply. Flynn looked broken. They sat side by side in silence.
"Trust is the a two way street. You can't ask for it unless you're willing to give it."
"Shut up, I have to think."
Taylor grunted, "You're not doing a very good job."
"Shut up, Taylor"
"So, how is your wife?"
Flynn eyes narrowed as he quickly turned towards Taylor. "She is fine" he replied and looked away.
"How are your boys?" Taylor asked.
"Shut up I said and leave me alone."
"Did they bug you?"
A horrified Flynn stared at Taylor, gasping for air, unable to answer.
"Your boys, do they bug you? Are they spoiled demanding brats?"
In a very slow and deliberate voice, Flynn replied, "My boys do not bug me. They are the reason for everything I do. I think of them first, always. I love them more than life."
Taylor whistled again. This time Sawyer came out. "How is Ana?"
"She's good. It was just a faint, too much excitment." He said the last while glaring at Flynn.
"Luke, we have a problem. I need your help. You have to decide. Flynn says his kids don't bug him. I say bullshit. What to you think?"
Luke opened his jacket and reached in the inside pocket and pulled out a small device. He scanned it over Flynn and nodded yes. "Well, Taylor. How old are his kids?"
Flynn was now ashen and trembling. Tears were running down his face. The police officers were all by the door talking when Taylor whistled again. Officer Aguayo looked over and Taylor nodded for him to come over. Luke showed him the listening device locator and pointed to Flynn's wedding band.
"Senor Sawyer, we need to discuss what's happened and what Mr Grey wants done. We need to decide whether any charges are being pressed against Taylor and Flynn."
"Yes, sir."
The two men stepped away and then returned a few minutes later. "Taylor, Flynn, you are both under arrest. We will decide what the charges are later."
Taylor was ranting non stop while Flynn was silent and never said a word. Luke reminded Taylor they might be living in this village for a year. Grey wouldn't want everyone avoiding his head of security because he was a wild man. In the end, the cuffs on his feet were removed and he walked with Flynn into the police car.
Once in the police station, they turned over everything in their pockets as well as all their jewelry. Officer Aguayo was staring at the pile of items removed from Taylor. Two phones, one gun, two knives, one pick lock kit, a wallet, a passport, a loaded syringe, keys, key cards, and loose change. He had no jewelry.
Flynn was similar but minus the weapons. He had the wedding band. Once all the valuables had been taken away, Taylor asked. "Anything else, Flynn? Did they give you anything else?"
Flynn buried his head in his hands and began to sob, "Oh my god, what have I done?"
Officer Aguayo came back with a Sgt. Herrera. Between Taylor, Herrera and Aguayo, they were able to to piece together enough information to determine Flynn's boys had been kidnapped as well as his wife. Taylor got Welch involved. Flynn's boys had been picked up at school by a middle aged blond woman who knew their safe word.
The first Flynn knew something was wrong was after returning to his hotel room after seeing Ana and discovering she was pregnant. He received a call from a man who said he had his wife and would kill her unless Flynn did exactly as he was told. Flynn started to balk, when he heard his wife's terrified voice scream, "They have our boys!" Then a loud slap and a long painful moan. The man's voice was speaking again and it was all Flynn could do to make out the words. He directed him to go down to the main desk and ask if there were any packages for him. Flynn looked at the clock on his bedside table. It was main almost eleven p.m. He felt like he was trapped in a nightmare and plodding through quicksand. He had been warned not to tell anybody. No police, no friends, no security. If he told anyone, anything, one boy would be eliminated. As the elevator carried him down to the main floor, he wondered what they wanted him to do. It had to be something with Christian Grey. Whatever it was, he would have to find a way to do it.
There was a small package and a letter waiting for him. He took them up stairs to his room. Once inside, he ripped off the brown paper covering the box. It contained a man's wedding bank. A sapphire in the center surrounded by diamonds. Expensive and gaudy if real. The letter stated he should remove his wedding band and replace it with the sapphire. Flynn balked at first, then reluctantly made the switch. Soon his phone rang. He was advised he would be receiving additional instructions tomorrow. Until then, he needed to stay in his room and contact no one.
The next day he tried to reach Ana without success. Sawyer was stonewalling and Flynn was terrified. He had been told he needed to bring Ana back to Seattle without Grey. He also needed to find a way to end the pregnancy. In the afternoon, Flynn decided to walk over and just drop in on Ana. To his surprise, only workmen were present. No Ana, No Luke. He knew what that meant, of course. She was back with Grey. Bloody hell, what was he supposed to do now?
His cell rang, it was him. He was told he was being watched and they wanted results. Then, he heard his sons voice, "Daddy? Daddy, help! Please Daddy! There's a bad man and he hurt us, daddy! Where are you?" Then the sound of a smack and a body tumbling and then crying.
"Go see the bitch. End the pregnancy. I don't care how. Give her an M&M, poison her, beat her, I don't care, but end that pregnancy. If you don't, I'll end one of your boys. You with me doc, you understand me? I'm not playing."
"I don't think they will let me see her."
"I'll be sure to tell your kid that before I break his neck. Find a way, doc."
An exhausted Flynn looked up at the men around him. "That is all I know, I swear."
Taylor patted him on the back, "Don't worry. We'll figure something out. We'll get your family back." Taylor's words were encouraging but his face was grim. Somehow while Flynn had been speaking, Taylor's possesions had been returned, even his gun. Flynn watched as he typed on his phone and wondered how he would ever face Ana or Christian again and if he would ever see his family again.
