Chapter 36: Leave School

"Freddie, I feel awful" Carly sighed at her locker the next morning. "You said all day yesterday that something was wrong with Sam, I should have believed you" she stressed.

"Don't worry about it, what happened wasn't your fault" Freddie assured her as his focus suddenly drifted to another direction.

"I went to see her this morning. She was still fast asleep and probably doesn't even know that I was there" Carly continued. "Freddie, are you listening?" she questioned.

"I bet that's the guy" Freddie suddenly blurted out, causing Carly to look in the direction that he was so focused on.

As she turned her head, she spotted what Freddie was so focused on almost instantly. There Valerie was practically grinding herself up against one of the guys from the baseball team. Carly winced slightly, nobody wanted the view of that, especially first thing in the morning. The sound of Valerie's fake girly cackle just made the whole thing even worse, if that was even possible. The guy seemed to be totally into it though. Carly knew that for sure as he let her willingly shove her tongue down his throat.

"Now you don't know that for sure" Carly pointed out, trying to stop him from doing anything that he may well regret. "We all know that Valerie would do anything with anyone. Just because he's a guy from the baseball team it doesn't mean it's him" she added.

"There's only one way to find out" Freddie spat, dropping his backpack onto the ground and beginning to march his way over there.

"Freddie, where do you think your going?" Carly called after him. "Don't do this" she shouted.

Anger immediately ran through Freddie's veins as his feet dragged him over to Valerie's direction. His eyes scowled not loosing their focus on the two people who had made him so mad. As he heard Carly's voice shouting at him from a short distance he still couldn't stop himself. Suddenly his hand grabbed the back of Valerie's new make out victims shirt and slammed him firmly up against the lockers.

"It was you wasn't it" Freddie growled, slamming the guy into the lockers once more.

"Was it me?" the guy questioned sarcastically as a smirk appeared on his lips.

"What was her price? My bet is she's gonna sleep with you" Freddie spat.

"Oh I've already slept with him" Valerie piped up. "And he's a lot better than you" she grinned.

"How would you know?" Freddie questioned. "Oh wait, you wouldn't because I didn't want you" he spat at her, continuing to slam the baseball guy up against the lockers again.

"Dude, if you do that one more time then were going to have a problem" he told him.

"We already have a problem" Freddie reminded him.

With that Freddie let go of the boys shirt, letting his fist curl up into a ball as his arm swung back and hit him in his face. He grinned widely with pleasure as he managed to dodge the boy trying to punch him back. And as Freddie got in another punch, he heard the voice of Brad calling him from a distance.

"Freddie" Brad called.

"What?" Freddie shouted back, dropping his guard and earning himself a punch in the face.

That soon brought his focus back on track though as he ignored Brad, punched the guy in the stomach and punched him around the head once more.

"Mr Benson" Principal Franklin shouted, grabbing Freddie's attention. "What is going on here?" he questioned as Freddie turned around to face him.

"What's going on here?" Freddie repeated with frustration. "Let's see, Sam's lying in a hospital bed while the people who caused it are running free in school. Nothings being done about it!" he exclaimed.

"I'm taking the appropriate actions and it's not your job to deal with it" Principal Franklin responded.

"Well that's not-" Freddie started to exclaim, soon to be cut off.

"I think it's best that you leave school for the day" Principal Franklin suggested.

"Oh that's terrific! After what's happened I'm the one that gets kicked out of school" Freddie stressed, rolling his eyes.

"I'm not kicking you out. Go and be with Sam, she needs you" Principal Franklin told him. "And get some ice on that face" he suggested.

...

"Hi" Freddie greeted, walking into Sam's hospital room to find her looking down at her laptop with an eye patch over the eye that she currently can't see out of.

"Why aren't you at school?" Sam questioned. "And what an earth happened to your face?" she frowned, looking up from her laptop screen.

"I may have got into a bit of a fight with some guy from the baseball team and got sent home because of it" Freddie grumbled, sitting down next to her on the bed.

"And why would you do something like that?" Sam found herself asking.

"My suspicion is that he's the one working with Valerie" Freddie admitted. "And I told you that I was going to fix this" he reminded her.

"Well getting into a fight isn't going to fix it, you've only gone and messed your face up" she told him as her face softened a little before leaning over and gently kissing him on the cheek. "But seriously you should go and put some ice on it" she added.

"Seriously? Your the one laying in a hospital bed and your worried about my face" Freddie laughed slightly. "So, how are you today and why are you looking at the London Dance Academy online? he questioned, looking down at her laptop screen.

"Let's see, I'm in pain, I still can't see and have a stupid eye patch on" Sam started. "I had another scan on my ankle and I haven't just fractured it but I have also torn all three ligaments" she added.

"Sam-" Freddie started softly.

"I need my ankle and my vision to dance" Sam pointed out, cutting him off. "If I can't dance then I need a new dream but I don't want a new dream. I want to go to London" she stressed.

"Your going to dance again" Freddie assured her.

"You can't be sure of that" Sam told him. "I don't want to talk about this. Go and get some ice for your face" she instructed.

As Freddie left the room, Sam went back to looking at her laptop, only to find that she had a new email. As she clicked on the attachment from her unknown sender a video instantly started to play, causing her mouth to drop open. She couldn't believe what she was seeing and immediately felt so stupid and foolish. It was Valerie sat on top of Freddie, making out in his car. As Sam felt that unfamiliar pain in her chest, she knew exactly what it was. Heartbreak.

"Alright I've got ice" Freddie announced, re-entering the room.

Sam looked up at him and instantly felt that hatred for him all over again. This was ultimate betrayal. As she turned her laptop around to face him, she watched the sheer panic wash over his face.

"It's not what it looks like" Freddie immediately tried to tell her.

"I may only have one working eye right now but it's exactly what it looks like!" Sam shouted at him. "Don't deny it!" she warned him.

"Alright, it is that but it still isn't that" Freddie tried to explain.

"That makes absolutely no sense" Sam frowned, standing up from her bed. "Let me guess, you've been making a fool out of me. All this time you've been scheming with Valerie. You've been pretending to be my friend" she shouted, punching him in the chest, causing a large amount of pain in her ribs as she shrieked and fell back onto her bed. She felt dizzy and sick. She didn't know if she still had a concussion or if it was her pure anger towards Freddie.

"Sam-" Freddie instantly panicked.

"Don't touch me" she screamed at him.
