Dom's P.O.V

I can't wait for the girls to be done with school, I really need Letty's help around here and I could use Mia at the Café. Business is starting to pick up, we weren't doing so good last month, and I didn't even think I'd be able to pay the bills but if business stay like it has been this part week or so we should be fine this month.

"Yo Dom, You wanna go get some lunch." Leon asked me.

"Nah, I got a lot of shit to do here."

"Alright we'll bring you back something." He said before leaving.

Shortly after they left I got a surprise visitor.

"Mrs. Ortiz, what are you doing here?"

"Looking for my daughter."

"She's at school."

"She's still in school?"

"Yeah, she's only a junior."

"I know what grade she's in, I just thought she would of dropped out by now."

"Why would you think that?"

"I know she's my daughter and all but she's not the smartest and she's got quiet the temper, I figured she would of either dropped out or been kicked out."

"You clearly don't know your daughter at all, she's one of the smartest people I've ever meant in my whole life and her temper only comes out when somebody messes with her and I think ever one in her school knows not to do that."

"Can I smoke in here?" She asked as she pulled out a cigarette.

I didn't even answer because I knew she was going to smoke regardless of what I said.

"Well Letty's not here, so why don't you leave and I'll let her know you stopped by."

"What about my other daughter where is she."

"How could you even stand to not know where your kids are?"

"I raised them to be strong and independent, they know how to take care of themselves."

"Adriana's only eight."

"Wow she's growing up so fast."

"And you're missing out on her whole life, Letty's too."

"It's too late to fix my relationship with Letty, is has been for a while now, me and her both know it. But Adriana is different, she still loves me, can you tell me where she is?"

"No, I probably shouldn't."

"She's my daughter, I have a right to know."

"And she has a right to have a mom who actually cares for her."

"I care about my kids and I suggested you shut your mouth because you have no idea what you're talking about."

"I know enough."

"You know what Leticia has told you and I wouldn't believe a word that comes out of that girls mouth."

"I know her a hell of a lot better than you do and she's not a liar."

"Well then you clearly don't know her that well at all, I bet you know nothing about her life before she came here."

"I know she had a brother, who was murdered."

"She told you that?"

"Yeah."

"Did she tell you why?"

"Wrong place, wrong time."

She laughed.

"I told you she's a liar."

"Why she lie about that?"

"Because she's the one who got her brother killed, I have my reasons for not wanting to be around my daughter but Adriana's different, she hasn't done anything so tell me where she is."

"How can you even say that?"

"What? That Letty's the reason her brothers dead? Because it's true, ask her."

"You're a cold, messed up women, do you know that?"

"I've been told. Now tell me where my daughter is, I'll find out from somebody, so you might as well tell me."

"You're going to have to find someone else."

"Why won't you tell me?" She asked annoyed.

"I know you hurt Letty and if I tell you where Adriana is you could do the same to her and it would be my fault."

"I'd never lay a hand on my baby, before it was different, I was going through a tough time and took my anger out on Leticia. It was wrong of me and I regret it but it happened, I've gotten over it and she'll have to too."

"Get out of my garage."

"Don't worry I'm going but don't say I didn't warn you about my daughter. Oh and don't be there to pick Letty up from school today I got it."

"No, I think I'll pick her up."

"If you're there after school to pick my daughter up I'll tell everyone how I came to your garage to see my kid and you got a little too touchy feely and tried to force yourself on me."

"That never happened, no one will believe you."

"Oh really, you think they're going to believe an ex con over me? I'll see you when I drop Letty off after school." She smiled.

What just happened? I was so confused after that whole conversation, I had no idea what to think. Of course I believe Letty over her mom, I'd be stupid not to but her mom sounded so convinced that Letty was the reason for her brother's death, but that's impossible, Letty was just a little girl then. How could of she done something like that? There's just no way, her mom just needs someone to blame and for some terrible reason she chose Letty, her own daughter.

I tried to get back to work but I kept thinking back to Letty and her mom the whole day. Eventually I just gave up and didn't even pretend to work anymore. The guys picked up the slack though and by the time three o'clock came we were done for the day and I wanted to go pick up Letty."

"Dud you're so going to be late." Jesse said looking at the clock.

"Her mom's picking her up today."

"Yikes, I wouldn't want to be around for that either." Vince said.

"What's wrong with her mom?" Jesse asked.

Vince and I both looked at each other.

"Not really our place to tell brother." Vince told him.

"She's not the nicest person on the planet." I told him.

"Letty told me that she was a complete bitch, who has a serious alcohol and drug problem." Leon told him.

"No shit?"

"Letty and her mom don't really get along, at all." I informed.

"It's like world war three every time they get together." Vince said.

"Letty doesn't like to talk about it though, so I advise you not to ask too many questions." I warned him.

He shook his head in understandingly.

"So what are we going to do here?" Vince asked.

"We're out of cars." Jesse added.

"Clean up a bit, wait to see if any one comes in, if not we'll just go home early, it's a Monday so we close at five anyways." I told them.

They agreed and went to clean up their stations. I cleaned mine quickly so I could talk to Letty when she got here. I started to get worried when it was three thirty and she still wasn't back yet, it only took fifteen minutes to get here from the school. When the guys were done cleaning I sent them home and I started to pace back and forth as I waited for Letty to get home. I started to regret my choice, I should have picked up her up regardless of what her mom would have done to me. It was around four o'clock when I was her mom's car pull up.

"Miss me?" She asked as she got out of the car.

I pulled her in a hug and said. "I'm so sorry Let, I tried to talk her out of it."

"It's fine, where are the guys?" She asked.

"I sent them home early, there wasn't much to do here."

"Slow day?" She questioned bringing her lips to mine.

"We had a lot of cars this morning but they only had small problems and we got the work done quickly." I told her before kissing her back.

"What did you mom want?" I asked as I brought us over to sit on the couch in the garage.

I wanted to talk but I think Letty had something else in mind because she climb on top of me and straddled me between her legs.

"She wanted to talk, something that I do not want to do right now." She smiled before leaving a trail of kisses down my neck.

"About what?" I asked as I leaning us back into the couch as she continued to kiss my neck.

"Dom." She whined, I knew she didn't want to talk right now but I really thought we needed to.

"Letty." I mimicked.

"I don't want to talk right now." She pouted as she removed her lips from my neck.

"Well I do."

"Can't we talk later and do this now?" She asked before kissing me.

I could resist her, I caved in and agreed to save the talking for later because right now, making out with my girl on the ouch sounded like a better idea.

We made out for over an hour amongst doing some other things, we made it home in time to help Mia with cooking and then we sat down and had a nice family dinner.

"So how everyone's day?" Mia asked.

"Good." We all answered in unison.

"No fights today Letty?" Leon teased.

"Le, when's the last time I got into a fight?"

"The beginning of the school year."

"Exactly."

"That's only because they threatened to expel you if you got into another fight." Mia said as she took a bite of her food.

"That's beside the point." Letty told her.

"I heard your mom's back in town." Vince said.

"Yeah." Letty mumbled.

"What did she want?" Mia asked.

"She wanted my forgiveness and for us to go shopping and have dinner together, the same damn thing that she always wants."

"Of course." Mia sighed, like they had been through this plenty of times before.

"So why don't you forgive her?" Jesse asked.

We all kind of stopped eating a started at him.

"That…. That… would….um.. um. be.. crazy, right?" Jesse stumbled like a scared little boy.

"Right." Leon confirmed to him.

The rest of the meal was pretty quiet and after dinner I went upstairs to shower. It wasn't Jesse's fault, and I don't even Letty was mad that he suggested that she forgive her mom, after all he doesn't really know went on between them and to be honest none of us really do, we just know more than he does.

I got out of the shower and went to my room, where Letty was laying on the bed in a pair of my boxers and a wife beater.

"I can see you made yourself at home." I smiled

"We're a couple now, what's yours is mine, right?"

"Of course." I said walking over to grab some clothes out of my dresser/

Not even thinking about Letty being in here, I dropped my towel to get dressed

"Oh my god, a little bit of a warning next time." She laughed.

"You don't like what you see?"

"I didn't say that. I'm just saying I'd like to be prepared before you flash all your manliness. "

"I have no shame in my game Let and it's not like you haven't seen it before. If you don't remember you walk in on me in the shower at the cabin."

"Oh I remember." She smiled

"And you'd see it eventually anyways." I added.

"I wouldn't be so sure of that." She mumbled.

"What was that?" I asked even though I heard what she said.

"Nothing."

I wasn't mad that Letty wasn't in a hurry to have sex, I wasn't either. I mean of course I wanted to but I didn't want to rush into anything, especially if Letty wasn't ready. I don't want to make her feel like she has to do something that she doesn't want to do.

"So do you want to tell me what you're mom wanted?"

"Geez, you're awfully nosy."

"Just curious."

"I will tell you when I want to, quit pushing."

"I'm sorry I'm not meaning to push you, I just want you to know that you can talk to me about these thing." I said sitting next to her on my bed.

"I know." She smiled as she reached up to give me a kiss that I met her half way on.

"She just wanted to talk to me about when I was younger, she's looking to have a fresh start."

"Are you going to give her one?"

"No, I mean I want to in some ways but I don't think I can. What would you do?"

"If it was my mom I'd forgive her, but your mom's not my mom and I can't make that choice for you."

"You're helpful."

"Sorry. Think about it this way, do want her in your life or not?"

"No... I don't want her in my life." She said after a while of thinking.

"Then it's that simple."

"But it's not, I have a little sister who deserves, no who needs a shot with her mother and if my mom's in Adriana's life she's going to be in mine too."

"Have you ever thought that maybe you deserved a mom too?"

"Yeah, but it hasn't worked out for me. I've gotten over that thought but that doesn't mean Aid has to be without her mom too."

"Well hopefully you guys can share her."

"Hopefully."

"Have you heard from you dad?"

"Not today, but my mom went to see him and Alaina."

"Really what did she say about them?... Sorry I'm prying again."

"Don't be. My dad's helping Alaina out with something's that I'm not supposed to talk about it."

"Alright."

"So that's about everything."

"Well you ready for bed then?"

"Dom it's only eight o'clock." She laughed.

"I know but I'm tired." I exaggerated I laid down on my stomach and buried my face in a pillow.

"Don't go to sleep." She begged climbing onto of me.

She kissed the back of my head and started running her hands down my back.

"Relax." She demanded before she hopped off of me and ran out of the room but she was back within a minute.

"What are you doing?" I asked as she climbed back on top of me.

"It's massage time."

I'd definitely have to pay Letty back for this, it felt so good to have all my muscle rubbed down after a long stressful day at work. I accidentally ended up falling asleep on her and only woke a little when she cuddled up next to me. I wrapped my arm around her and pulled her as close as I could.

"Goodnight." She whispered as she gently kissed my lips.
