In the middle of the ocean, Aster Phoenix had just boarded a huge luxury ship and was now going down the hallways, searching for his friend and guardian, The D.

Aster then entered a huge hall and could see a familiar figure in the shadows, namely The D, through his features couldn't be completely seen.

"Hello Aster." The D then said.

Aster smiled upon seeing The D was all right and asked in a curious tone. "Hey, D, glad to see that you are okay. What happened during that duel? Did you win?"

"Did I win?" The D asked, before saying. "Aster, he didn't stand a chance."

Aster smiled and then asked. "Great! I knew it! How did you do it?!"

"Well, like I said, he didn't stand a chance when I unleashed my secret weapon." The D replied, his tone turning dark as he then told Aster about what happened, including the fire and Doctor Collector's horrible defeat.

When The D was done, Aster gasped in shock and horror.

"What happened?" Aster yelled out.

But then all of the doors in the room of the luxury ship closed, including the one behind Aster.

Hey! What's the deal?" Aster demanded, in which The D replied in an evil tone. "All of the doors are locked and the only way that you can get out is through the door behind me."

Confused, Aster questioned. "What is it you want D?"

In reply The D held up a Duel Monsters Card and stated. "It is not what I want, Aster. It is what the Light wants. And I'm afraid that the light wants you! However, I believe that you've been searching for this Card for quite some time."

Aster gasped in shock, knowing what The D is implying, and he exclaimed. "No way! You mean that you are...?"

"Yes, Aster. The man that took your father from this world, it was me!" The D announced wickedly.

Hearing that, Aster gasped in shock from The D's admission as his evil persona was fully revealed.

"You snake! How could you?" Aster demanded.

"Oh please. You mean how could I not?" The D replied in a wicked tone, before he stated. "I needed to have that Card and someone was in my way."

"Yeah. My dad." Aster replied as he scowled at the man he once called his friend.

"I thought that this is what you wanted. I mean if your father hadn't disappeared without a trace I wouldn't be your guardian and you wouldn't be the top Duelist you are today. You had this all planned." The D replied, before saying in a sinister tone. "I was down on my luck, but thanks to you that was about to change. Of course your father's luck had just run out. And with the Ultimate Destiny Card at my fingertips, I became the most successful Duelists in the pro circuit. Then we officially met. But you had no idea that two weeks earlier you lead me straight to my lucky charm."

"Hold on! If that's true then why did you adopt me?" Aster questioned.

"It's simple, the police would never suspect a generous man like me, and it worked. Thank you son." The D replied, making Aster grit his teeth in anger.

And Aster's anger only heightened as The D then said. "We make a good team. You helped keep the cops of my trail and I filled you with false hope about your old man."

"So level with me, where is he?" Aster asked, before demanding. "Where's my father!?"

"Patience kid. Trust me. You and your pop will have a family reunion soon enough. In fact I think he's going to be proud his special Card worked so well." The D said darkly.

"Come on aren't you glad it's not locked up in some safe?" The D then asked, before saying. "Well, if your father had his way that's where it would be."

"That's because it's dangerous!" Aster stated in a serious tone, only for The D to ignore the warning, scoff at Aster and reply. "Oh please. You sound like he did. Well you're both cowards."

"But never fear because you're going to see his Card up close." The D then said as a small table arose on the left side of The D, which had two Duel Discs on it, one of which The D put on.

Clenching his fist, Aster then stated. "Trust me I'm not scared of you! I'll Duel for his honour!"

"It's about time. Good luck." The D said, throwing Aster the other Duel Disk, who caught it with ease, attached it to his left arm and placed his Deck inside, ready to Duel for his father and to win back the Card that had caused so much pain to the Phoenix family.

Starting Scores:

Aster: 4000

The D: 4000

"I'll start with this!" Aster shouted, drawing the sixth Card from the top of his Deck.

"I activate the Spell: Destiny Draw!" Aster called out, placing the aforementioned Spell Card in the first slot of his Spell/Trap Card zone, before saying. "So now I can take one of my Destiny Heroes, send him to the Graveyard and then I can draw two more cards!"

After discarding his Card and drawing two more Cards from his Deck, Aster then announced out. "Next, I play this! My D-Spirit spell! With this card, I can play this guy! My Diamond Dude!" (1400/1600)

"You want more? Then check this out! I play Diamond Dude's Effect! Now I draw another Card. And if happens to be a Spell Card, I can use it in my next turn!" Aster called out, drawing yet again, before displaying the latest Card added to his hand, Pot of Greed, which he discarded.

"Then I'll play Over Destiny!" Aster called out, before he explained. "Thanks to this Spell I get to Summon another Hero from as long as it has half the level of the one in my Graveyard!"

"So, meet my Destiny Hero-Captain Tenacious!" (800/800) Aster announced, before he went on and called out. "And since my Destiny Hero-Malicious is the monster in my Graveyard! I can use his special ability to remove him from play to summon another one to the Field!"

Removing the said Card from his Graveyard, Aster then went through his Deck, removed one Card and placed it on his duel disk, in which Destiny Hero-Malicious appeared on the Field, joining his other HERO Monsters.

"Then I sacrifice them all. And now, I can Summon my Destiny Hero-Dogma!" (3400/2400) Aster announced as all three Monsters vanished in streams of light, which merged with one another and created Destiny Hero-Dogma.

But Aster still had more to do, as he then called out. "Then I'll throw down a face-down and activate Clock Tower Prison!"

As the scenery changed from the dark room of The D's ship to a courtyard of a large prison with a huge clock tower behind Aster, he said simply. "That should do."

Seeing this, The D replied in an evil and taunting tone. "Not too bad. A little pedestrian for my tastes, but you've got a bright future son. It's a shame I have to snuff you out, like I did to your dad."

"Your little head games work on me, D!" Aster called out, in which The D drew from his Deck and replied. "We'll see about that."

However, Aster then interrupted and yelled out. "But not before this. Dogma's special ability wipes out half of your Life Points! Tough break dude!"

With that, Dogma gave off a bright red glow that then enveloped The D, making him groan out as his Life Points were reduced to 2000.

"It's true! When you are having fun time really does fly!" Aster then called out as the hands on Aster's clock tower moved to three o'clock.

However, The D didn't seem fazed by any of Aster's tactics and then said, with an evil smile and tone that matched his evil. "Sorry but that bell tolls for you. Nice try but that turn was your last, Because I activate this Spell Card: Claret Note!"

"With this in play for every Four monster Levels on your side of the Field, I get a Plasma Token." The D explained as two red humanoid shaped blobs appeared before The D.

"And next, I play Fiend's Sanctuary which means another Token." The D then said as another Token appeared before him, making Aster say in worry. "Three Monsters? That means..."

Hearing the fear in his voice made The D smile evilly and exclaim in reply. "That's right kid, it's time to see what your father's card can do! It's the Ultimate Destiny card: Destiny Hero-Plasma!" (1900/600)

With that, all three Tokens were surrounded by swirls of crimson red energy that dripped down like blood to the ground, before a massive surge of blood shot out from the ground, revealing a humanoid monster that had crimson red and dark blue armour.

A crimson red demonic dragon head as a right hand and right lower arm, a black clawed left hand, demonic-like clawed feet, while out of his back of his back were two demonic-like bat wings.

And while the Monster's head was human with a black mask covering his upper face with yellow eyes coming out of the mask, adorned his head was a crimson red demonic dragon helmet.

"What!? No! It can't be!?" Aster called out in disbelief and shock, only for The D to reply. "It is. Thanks to your father I have the ultimate Monster!"

"Ready? Behold its power!" The D exclaimed before the wings of Destiny Hero-Plasma opened up, unleashing a huge wind that caused Destiny Hero-Dogma to roar out as it shattered to pieces, while the remains were sent into Destiny Hero-Plasma's wings.

"Dogma!" Aster called out in concern for his Monster, looking in shock to see Dogma now trapped within the creature's wings.

"That's Plasma's gift." The D told Aster, before he explained in amusement. "Plasma absorbs monsters, stealing all their abilities and half of their Attack Points!"

"Say What!?" Aster asked, shocked as he watched as Plasma's stats rose from 1900/600 to 3600/600.

"Now Plasma, Attack him With Vengeful Rain!" The D commanded, in which Plasma spread his wings and fired a rain of crimson red darts at Aster, who cried out from the pain and dropped to his knees. (4000 → 400)

Managing to get to his feet, Aster asked The D in a serious tone. "So tell me, D, is that the best you can do?"

"I'm glad that you asked, Aster. While I was visiting your dad, I helped myself to this! The Spell card D-Force!" The D replied as he displayed the D-Force Spell card and placed it on the top of his Deck, which caused a dark violet storm cloud to appear above Destiny-Hero Plasma, while a sickly white aura to surround The D, which then consumed Plasma.

"Aster, meet The Light of Destruction!" The D called out, before saying as the Light glared down at Aster with malicious red eyes. "Let's just say he and your father go way back too."

"Just as The D and Sartorius worships me, Aster, you will come to revere my power as well!" The Light of Destruction then stated.

"Yeah right, freak!" Aster snapped back, which made him and The D chuckle.

The D then said, placing a face-down. "We'll see about that, Aster! You and your friends will never stop the Light!"

Current Scores:

Aster: 400

The D: 2000

"We'll see about that!" Aster snapped in reply as he drew and began to make his turn.

"Now I..." Aster began to say, only for The D to suddenly interrupt. "What's the rush, Aster? Remember, my Plasma absorbed your Monster's ability, so you lose half of your Life Points!"

Aster was then consumed by a red light, which caused him to scream out in pain as his Life Points were cut in half. (400 → 200)

The D says, evilly, "Perhaps a brief timeout would help." The D offered mockingly, in which Aster replied in a serious tone. "Why, are you tired? Because I've got plenty of fight left!"

"I play Pot of Greed!" Aster said, drawing two Cards from his Deck, before he called out. "Now, I summon Destiny Hero-Doom Lord!" (600/800)

With Doom Lord on the Field, Aster then explained his ability. "That means I can remove one Monster from play! Guess which one?"

Doom Lord then unleashed a link of golden chain that wrapped around Plasma, however, the chains suddenly shattered on impact with Plasma's body, making The D explain.

Aster gasped out in shock while The D says, evilly, "I guess your daddy didn't tell you. Special abilities don't affect Plasma thanks to D-Force."

Hearing that worried Aster as he knew taking down Plasma would be a whole lot harder.

"But then..." Aster began to say, only for The D to call out as he began to make his move. "It's my turn. And I'll activate D-Boost."

Just then The D's face-down Card is revealed to be the D-Boost trap card, in which The D then said in a wicked tone. "So whenever D-Force is the top Card, I draw two more."

After explaining his Trap, The D then drew the two Cards below his D-Force Spell Card, before Aster called out. "Don't forget with every Standby Phase my clock moves ahead!"

As the clock hands landed to six o'clock Aster thought. 'Just two more turns and I'll have a chance to win this.'

"You failed again!" The D stated as he activated a Spell Card, before saying. "I play the Spell Card: Drain Time!"

Suddenly the Aster's Clock Tower froze over, shocking him and making The D smirk and say. "Here's how it works. With Plasma in play, I can freeze one of your phases, like your Standby. Which means your clock is frozen. Oh well."

"And now Plasma time!" The D then called out, before commanding. "Attack him directly!"

Plasma did as commanded and unleashed another wave of crimson bolts at Aster, who was quick to act and called out in reply. "Chill out, D! My D-Counter Trap Destroys any monster that Attacks one of my HERO Cards!"

However, Aster's Trap Card suddenly shattered to pieces after it was revealed, confusing Aster as to why his Trap failed.

"My mistake. Sorry, I should've told you that Spells and Traps don't work either!" The D announced as Destiny Hero-Doom Lord was pelted by Plasma's crimson bolts and exploded as he was Destroyed and sent to the Graveyard.

"Come on! I can't use Spells, Traps, or special Effects?" Aster groaned out, before asking. "What can I do?!"

"That's the whole point. You can't do a thing. And since your father created this Card, you have him to thank." The D replied, before saying in amusement as he place a Card face-down. "How ironic. The man that you're avenging is actually helping me Destroy you. Your move."

"Alright, stand back!" Aster yelled as he drew one Card from his Deck and then said. "I place these two Cards face-down!"

"That's the only thing you can do? Pathetic. Honestly aren't you glad that your father's not here to see you disgrace yourself?" The D asked, mocking Aster, before saying. "Then again, maybe he is. And after this you'll be together again."

The D then commanded. "Plasma, finish him off!"

Destiny Hero-Plasma obeyed once more, launching more crimson bolts from his wings at Aster, consuming his side of the Field in a huge amount of smoke and dust.

However, when the smoke and dust cleared, Aster was fine, though his Clock Tower Prison Field Spell was gone and Destiny Hero-Dreadmaster (?/?) was now standing behind him, making The D say in shock and confusion. "Hold on! You should have been Destroyed! I even activated my Dust Tornado to take out your Clock Tower!"

Aster smirked and then replied. "Before that, I activated my eternal Dread Trap Card. So that means my Clock Tower can keep ticking, D."

"Besides, before you tried to Destroy my Clock Tower, my Dreadmaster stepped in and protected it with his invincible barrier!" Aster then said, making The D reply. "Sorry, Effects don't work against Plasma!"

Aster smirked upon haring that and then replied, pointing to his other Trap. "I know but my Greed Pact changed all that. Cause this Trap evens everything up!"

The D then looked at his hand and is shocked to see D-Force back in his hand, in which Aster then told him. "That's right now we both have to draw a Card. And since D-Force is no longer your top Card, Plasma no longer invincible!"

"Now, Dreadmaster, activate your other special ability!" Aster called out in a strong tone as his Duel Disc began to glow brightly.

"Diamond Dude and Captain Tenacious, return!" Aster commanded, in which Dreadmaster was encircled in a violet aura, before the two Destiny HERO Monsters emerged from the Graveyard, causing Dreadmaster's Attack to rise. (? → 2200)

"Interesting strategy kid but it won't work. I resurrect my D-Force." The D stated as he placed his D-Force Spell back on the top of his Deck, causing the violet colored storm to reappear above Plasma.

"And then I'll toss out 800 Points to play my Unfair Judge Spell Card!" The D then said, placing the final Card in his hand into his Spell/Trap slots, which caused lightning to strike from the void and electrocute Plasma.

"Thanks to this if no Monsters were Destroyed in this Battle Phase, then Plasma can Attack every one of yours'!" The D explained.

"What!?" Aster questioned.

"Go ahead them Plasma." The D instructed, in which Plasma unleashed his Attack on Aster's Monsters, Destroying all three Monsters in three huge and strong explosions.

With his Monsters gone and every attempt to win a failure, Aster thought to himself in a defeated tone. "I'm sorry, dad. I failed you!"

But then Aster a voice in his head called out. "Aster, my son. Don't give up!"

Aster gasped in shock, his eyes widened as he recognized the voice and then, looking at his Duel Disc, thought to himself. 'He's right. I have to believe in my Deck. These Cards might be all that's left of him!"

"All right, D, game on!" Aster called out as he drew the top Card from his Deck.

And when Aster looked at the Card he drew, it is a monster known as Destiny Hero-Dark Angel (0/0), making him think. 'No way, it's the last card that my dad ever gave to me.'

Confused at first, Aster then realized something very important about the Card and thought. 'That's it! It's Plasma's only weakness!'

"I'm sending my Dark Angel to activate its Effect." Aster said, discarding the Card from his hand, before saying. "Now I'm able to resurrect it!"

Hearing this, The D asked. "Great. So, now we're going in circles?"

Aster grinned at The D's question and replied slyly. "Not quite! Guess where he resurrects to, D?" He goes to the top of your deck!"

"My deck?!" The D questioned, before looking down and was shocked to see Dark Angel appear on the top of his D-Force Spell, causing the violet colored storm above Plasma to vanish.

"I'm afraid your D-Force is out of commission from now on. And there's more! Next, I activate the Field Spell: Dark City!" Aster called out as the field transformed into a dark version of Jaden's Skyscraper Field Spell, in which he explained. "And if my HERO's Attack Points are weaker than your monster's, they he gets 1000 more to balance the score!"

Placing the last Card in his hand, Aster announced. "I Summon Destiny Hero-Celestial!" (1600/1400) → (2600/1400)

"Celestial, Attack him!" Aster called out, in which Celestial moved in to Attack and Destroy Plasma, as Aster then shouted, "And get this. When he Attacks you, you lose my Dogma Card plus 500 Life Points! Looks like means your Plasma's not so tough anymore!"

After explaining his Monster's Effect, darkness shot out from Plasma's wings, while his Attack dropped back down to 1900 and The D groaned out as his Life Points dropped down by 500 Points.

"You can't!" The D yelled out in disbelief that his ultimate Monster was now vulnerable and he would lose, in which Aster replied. "This is called payback for my father!"

Hearing that, The D grinned evilly and then replied. "How convenient! Because your dad is right here with some friends!"

Just then images of people's faces began to appear on Plasma's wings, causing Aster to gasp in shock, while Celestial stopped his attack mid-way.

"Don't look so shocked, it's Plasma's secret power. I guess your daddy didn't tell you." The D said, before announcing. "His Plasma HERO can absorb human souls as well!"

Aster gasped from hearing this, watching as Doctor Collector's face emerged from one of Plasma's wings, before it was sucked back in and out emerged Aster's father.

"Aster, help us! It's me! Daddy!" Aster's father begged.

"Father!" Aster called out, shocked to see him in such a horrid and twisted condition.

"Yep that's him all right! Still want to attack my Plasma Monster?" The D asked, before calling out. "Go ahead, kid. I dare ya!"

"I can't!" Aster replied, only for his father to suddenly yell out to him. "Aster, all of this is my fault, son!"

"But dad...?" Aster tried to protest, only for his father to interrupt. "It's true. When I began to develop that Plasma Card, there was a Light... it was a Darklight!"

"The Light of Destruction!" Aster replied, in which Aster's dad told him. "I was weak, it took me over. I kept trying to stop because I knew it was dangerous and it was too strong for me! Because of me, the most destructive power in the universe is free. You have to stop it son!"

Unsure, Aster asked. "But how?"

"The D is just a pawn! The true evil exists inside Sartorius!" Aster's father replied.

"It does!?" Aster asked.

"He's possessed! The Light is manipulating him so it can take over the world." Aster's father replied, before pleading to his son. "Please Aster forgive this old fool and stop the Light!"

"But dad..." Aster could only say, not wanting to harm his father, who told him in an honest tone. "I'm proud of you son."

"Now please save mankind." Aster's father finished as he sank back inside Plasma's wings, making Aster cry out. "Father, I'll do it. I promise! And I'll free your soul!"

With that promise, Destiny-Hero Celestial moved in for the final blow while all Aster could do was remember all the good times he had growing up with his father.

What!? This is impossible!" The D shouted as his Life Points hit 0 and Plasma was slowly being Destroyed.

"Thank you my son." Aster's father then called out from within the Plasma, moments before it was Destroyed, releasing all of the souls within him to their final rest.

Aster then called out, weakly. "But dad..."

And for the first time, the very strong, Aster Phoenix, started to cry as the final duel holograms faded away as the Duel ended.

Ending Scores:

Aster: 200

The D: 0

However, Aster didn't have too long to grieve the loss of his father as The D's Cards scattered out of his Deck, including Plasma, in which The Light of Destruction emerged from the Card and began to roar out in agony before it erupted, setting The D's boat ablaze.

But something caught his eye, in which he bent down and picked up Destiny Hero-Plasma.

"Bye pop." Aster said softly, before he heard The D call out. "Aster!"

Looking up, Aster could see The D getting back up as he then said in a tone full of hatred and vengeance. "This isn't over, I shall return again!"

"Yeah right." Aster replied as he headed out of the fiery deathtrap and to the front of the boat, where he could see a copter approaching the flaming boat.

"Aster, take the rope! Hurry!" A voice called out, revealing it to be Chancellor Sheppard.

Not needing to be told twice, Aster grabbed the rope and climbed aboard, before turning and watching as the flames consumed The D's boat, to which Aster said out loud. "Alright only one thing left. Sartorius here I come!"
