Part 6: Requiem

Chapter 38: Secrets

Jenn was amazed.

He had decorated the entire greenhouse with pink flowers and withered roses. It reminded her of the Arboretum, when he left petals everywhere in her room. The greenhouse was warm, misty with the scent of freshly cut cabbage and lettuce. There was a small red picnic blanket in the middle of the room, with a small basket on top. Wally was blushing furiously, Jenn only could look at him in awe. "You did all this?"

He smirked, rubbing the back of his head. "Yeah, with a little help from Alfred, of course." He watched her slide off her small jacket, she was dressed in a black pencil skirt and tight shirt, with fishnet tights and little heels. It was the nicest outfit he had ever seen her wear. Her hair was braided in an intricate pattern, and she wore tiny golden earrings. "You're beautiful Jenny."

She rolled her eyes and grabbed his hand, dragging him to the blanket. "You're not too bad yourself stud." She winked, and it drove him crazy.

He opened the basket and pulled out two potato bun sandwiches, four apples, and a tiny bag of sugared oranges. "This is the best I could do under the current circumstances." He blushed again.

Jenn laughed at how nervous he was, she folded her legs underneath her, reaching out to brush away the hair falling into his eyes. "Wally, this is amazing, don't second guess yourself."

He smiled at her and admired the unlady-like way she was seated, he loved her little quirks. He handed her a sandwich. "If this wasn't the apocalypse I would've had a full out dinner reservation set up."

She bit into her sandwich smiling at him. "Really?" She wiggled her eyebrows, "What type of restaurant?"

"Italian, duh." He poked her. "Chicks love Italian food."

"What would you have ordered me?" She teased.

"Nothing but the finest pasta frittata, of course." Wally finished his sandwich quickly. "The waiter would've complimented how beautiful you are. I would order us some classy wine."

"Wally! We're underage! And you have no idea what frittata is, do you?" She joked.

He laughed at her, staring at her. "The staff would serve us their best wine. Violin players would pop out of nowhere, serenading you." He grabbed her hand. "I would lift you out of your seat." She stood up. "We would dance and sway back and forth to the soothing tones of the violin."

Jenn noticed the serious look in his eyes and smiled at him. She played along, allowing him to stand her up, grab her waist and dance romantically. "There's no music." She whispered.

He kissed her on the cheek. "We'll make our own music."

Jenn kissed him back, they swayed to their own song. He dipped her, spun her around the greenhouse. His hand cheekily made it to her left buttock and she slapped it away. "Gentlemen don't grope in public Mr. West." She smirked.

He laughed with her, and they continued to dance to their own music. Wally mumbled beautiful thoughts in her ear, describing the way the restaurant staff would stop what they're doing to admire the couple. He defined the way he would twirl her under the soft lights of the restaurant. "I would then stop under the biggest chandelier, and kiss you softly before…" He dropped to one knee, digging in his pocket. "I would tell you how much you mean to me."

Jenn could only stare at him in shock, tears teeming in her eyes. "Wally…" She whispered.

"I love the way you scold me…I love how much you expect from me, from the early morning lazy kisses, to the side-by-side ass-kicking awesomeness that we are together in battles. I love your ass." He chuckled with her. "I love your laugh, your shy smile when you wake up. Your strong unwavering strength, your amazing sense of humor, your deadpan remarks at my stupidity." He sighed, a few tears slipping from his own eyes as he took his hand out of his pocket. In his hand was a small wooden box, and in it sat a tiny gold sparkling ring; set with one tiny pale pink diamond. "Jenny…I love you so much, sometimes I'm shocked. I find myself just thinking about you when I do random things. From when I eat breakfast, to combat training." He blinked, looking at her through his tears. "Marry me…Please."

Jenn had both hands covering her mouth. This was the absolute last thing she could've ever imagined happening to her. In this moment he was beautiful. He was this man that looked at her and saw love. He saw love. Not even her own mother had seen love in her, he was the first to ever see her for who she was. When they woke up in the morning he would speckle kisses around her tired eyes. When they brushed their teeth together he would purposely gross her out by flinging his toothbrush at her. At breakfast he would sneak and apple slice somewhere on her plate. During training he would slip his hand to her bottom randomly, making her blush and grow angry. He knew how to tick her off and how to laugh. This world was so awful, and he gave her the ability to laugh again. To enjoy a life she didn't know she deserved.

And then reality hit.

She was dying. She was cancer-ridden, and actively dying each day. Sure, the medicine helped keep her alive and without symptoms, but how long would that last? She was pregnant. She was carrying his child. It all came flooding back, and it hit her hard. Right in the chest. She felt like she couldn't breathe. It all came rushing in like water, and she was drowning.

She dropped to her knees.

Wally immediately knew something was wrong. "Jenny?" He grabbed her shoulder and gently shook. "Jenny, are you okay?"

Jenn shook her head, she was dizzy. "Wally, I love you too." She began to sob, a very uncharacteristic trait. "Wally…" The world was unfair…She survived so long in this world, kicked and screamed and fought at the thought of dying. All she wanted was to be selfish. She killed. She killed so many, just to be able to take another breath. So much blood was on her hands, and it wasn't fair. She never asked for this…She wasn't selfish…But…

She looked into his dark blue eyes, his hopeful and worried eyes; she smiled through the tears, now was the time to be selfish. Now. "Yes. Yes, I'll marry you…"

Complete relief flooded him and he grabbed her tiny body in the tightest hug he could muster. "Oh thank god." He slid the ring onto her finger, it fit perfectly.

Jenn laughed, more tears spilling down her cheeks. She pulled back and wiped her tears. Ready to tell him. "Wally, first…I have to tell you something."

The greenhouse doors burst open, the cold air stinging their skin, blasting their tear tracks into ice. In the doorway stood Richard in combat gear, in his arms he held a duffel bag. He threw it to the ground and tossed two extra kevlar jackets to the pair. "Gear up, and hurry, we're following Kori."

"W-What?" Wally asked, lifting Jenn to her feet.

"Just do it, I have a bad feeling. Get a move on."

Jenn and Wally ripped open the bag to find their weapons. Jenn strapped her knives to her legs, and wrapped two jackets around her small frame. She grabbed a small gun from the bag and some ammo. Wally looked at Richard as he tied a scarf around Jenn. "Why the rush, what's going on? It was our night off dude."

"JUST HURRY!" Richard hissed, peering outside the door. "They're heading south, hurry!"

Jenn looked at Wally, pecking him on the cheek as she zipped his jacket for him. "We'll talk when we get back."

"You sure?"

Jenn faltered for a moment but nodded. "I'm sure…"

Wally kissed her forehead and grabbed her hand, together they followed Richard into the cold frigid air.

They stopped at the wall.

"Friends?" Kori took a moment to breathe. "Where are we going? This is the southern tip of the Gotham walls? Correct?"

"Shh, Kori. Quiet, they might hear you." Kole pointed upwards, her hand already grasping the handle on her silicon bat.

Kori's eyes widened. "A-Are we breaking rules?"

"Shh." Cheshire hissed and motioned them over to a small wooden panel in the wall. She signaled for the girls to lower the ground. "This is the size of a doggy door." She gently pushed the wooden panel. "Be very careful going through it, there is a steep hill immediately after. We have nothing but downhill trees and bushes from here, don't fall..."

The girls nodded.

Cheshire shoved the panel aside, Kole went first. She inched her body through, holding her bat so it wouldn't clank against the loose panel. Kori listened for her footsteps on the other side, but heard nothing. Cheshire stared at her and Kori held onto her bow and satchel of arrows as she slid through.

There was nothing but darkness and she almost yelped when Kole grabbed her wrist to steady her. Her eyes readjusted as she realized they were surrounded by forest. Deep dark woods that stretched around for miles in the darkness. Some trees were pressed against the walls of Gotham, some bushes scraped at her ankles. Cheshire made it through and began leading them again. "Be very quiet, the woods are filled with Walkers. Kole almost died out here last night. They come out of nowhere."

Kori only nodded and readied her bow. She had a small knife in a wrist sheath underneath her jacket. So one move and she could flick it out, she felt safe. She eyed Kole, worrying for the smaller girls' safety.

They moved slowly through the bushes, every time they heard a stick break they all together stopped breathing and pointed their weapons in every direction until it was safe to move on. It was hard to see in the dark, some of the gaps in the trees allowed for moonlight to creep through. It casted long shadows all over the pine forest, making the experience much more eerie than it should've been. Before long they were nearly walking straight downhill, they had no choice but to break a few sticks and misplace handfuls of leaves.

The first walker just looked like a dark shadow that limped towards them, arms outreached. It made soft gurgling sounds. Kori shot an arrow and it slumped to the ground, rolling slightly down the slope of the hill before coming to a stop. Kori winced as Cheshire glared at her. "That made way too much noise."

The forests' shadows seemed to be moving at that point, lurching forwards towards them. It almost looked like darkness was about to envelope them. The walkers had spotted them.

"Screw being quiet. RUN." Cheshire susurrated. Kori and Kole followed, keeping their weapons close and watching the darkness for movement. It was like looking into a dark closet with a swinging light bulb. You could see a few of them, but others were completely enshrouded. "We're almost there!" Cheshire said.

Kori began to notice some Walkers coming up, about to block their path. She carefully maneuvered her bow and shot arrows in front of Cheshire. The black-haired girl didn't falter, she trusted that Kori wouldn't accidentally hit her.

They were coming up on a large wooden cabin, it was two stories, large and completely dark. The moonlight seemed to carve a circle of light out for it. There weren't any overgrown trees or bushes pressed against it. It was desolate, well kempt.

Cheshire rushed towards it, and the door seemed to open on its own for her, they piled through and again were surrounded by darkness. "We made it, get some light in here Roy." She demanded.

There was the distinct sound of a match being struck and a small flame. Before long dozens of candles illuminated the room. Roy stood amongst them, his arms crossed, a smug look on his face. "Thanks for bringing the forest with you." He mumbled.

Cheshire rolled her eyes. "The walkers heard noise." She shrugged.

Kori took notice of where they were. The walls were made of wood, the floor too. It was a large open cabin. The kitchen, dining room, and living room connected. Old fleece furniture littered the living room. In the corner sat a box TV. On the wall hung a comic book poster. The kitchen had a median in the middle, bar stools gathered around in various parts. There was an empty pot on the stove. It looked like an ordinary cabin, the only thing out of place was the desk in the far right corner, sat atop it was a large communication system, it blinked red. There were stacks of papers and vials of liquid organized on the shelves around it. A dark green mug sat on a coaster. Kori approached it and touched her finger to the ceramic. It was warm.

The place didn't look vacant, and it wasn't. Someone had been here recently.

Kori whirled around and looked at the three teens. "Can someone please explain what is happening?" She already felt betrayed by Jenn and Raven; adding more to that list seemed too easy and painful.

Roy stepped forward. "We have to show you something, but it needs to stay between us. It's something that could possibly threaten our own safety here."

Kori had enough. "No." She shook her head vigorously, the strands of hair that had come from her bun were stuck to her forehead. The adrenaline had made her sweat, she was weary and on high alert. "I will be the judge of what remains a secret. Now show me what you dragged me out here for." She grumbled, her temper beginning to show.

Cheshire nodded at Roy. "Kole, stay here, keep watch."

"I will, but first." She looked at Kori steadily. "What you're about to see isn't to be taken lightly. Cheshire and Roy had done some serious digging and sneaking to even find this place. I secretly followed her yesterday, so I haven't known for long." She licked her lips, her face pale. "I didn't tell Tim yet…He's like Richard in a way, headstrong and ready to fight without thinking. So make your own decision, and just think."

Kori pursed her lips, staring at the young girl for a moment. The red-head moved forward and embraced the girl. She was much taller, but it didn't matter. Kole needed a hug. Everything had already been too much for her to handle. "Thank you."

Kole hugged Kori back, and let go. She watched the three open the basement door and descend the stairs. She allowed a few tears to slip down her cheeks before taking her place at the window. It wasn't long before she noticed three figures cut their path through the growing crowd of walkers and head towards the cabin door, extremely fast. Gotham guards weren't supposed to be back for at least another two hours.

She was about to hide when the doors opened.

As soon as they reached the bottom of the steps Roy lit a candle.

And Kori wished he hadn't.

The first thing Kori noticed was the overbearing smell of blood and rot. Course, thick, fresh blood. It found its way to her noise and she nearly gagged. She moved her feet and immediately noticed the color. Deep rusty brown.

The basement itself was huge, wide with strong wooden pillars.

It was the contents.

On every wall was a person. Hung by nails or chains, completely naked. They were either soaked in blood, or stripped of flesh. There were men and women, most of their faces sunk in, their ribcages gaunt. It was like the world tilted around her and she couldn't find balance. Her stomach tightened.

And that wasn't the worse part.

They were alive.

Every moan, wail and slur for help fell on her ears. Every whimper and sigh of defeat kept her eyes glued to the scene before her. There were at least fifty people chained to the wall around her, helpless…Dying. "W-What is this?" Kori whispered between the bile rising in her mouth.

Cheshire had a deep frown on her face. "This is Gotham's secret. When Roy and I found this we were going to come to Richard immediately. But…he stopped us." She pointed at a far corner.

In the corner was a man, he didn't look as sick as the others. He was the only one in the room staring at Kori, he was the only one who didn't look starved. He stared at Kori in awe. "Hello."

"Cheshire…What the hell?" Kori whispered. "Why have you not gotten these people down?" She continued to stare at the man on the wall. He was about thirty years of age, brown hair and deep dark eyes. He was double chained to the wall, his hands pale from the lack of blood flow.

"My name is Daniel, and I stole from the food reserves." He sighed. "This is one of the punishments, experimentation." He glanced and Cheshire and Roy. "If they would've tried to save us the guards would've placed them right up here with us. We need to work cautiously, and diligently to save everyone, not just a few. This isn't the only cabin of people."

"Oh my god…This…This cannot be happening." Kori shouted. "THIS IS INHUMAN! I WILL NOT STAND BY AND ALLOW PEOPLE TO DIE!" She looked around in the slight darkness, looking at the gaunt bodies on the brink of death. She was about to scream out her frustrations but a hand clamped over her mouth.

It was Roy. "Shh, someone is here, Jade ditch the candle."

It went dark and Kori could feel the pressing death that darkness brought her. There were scrambled footsteps upstairs and mumbled shouts. The basement door opened and they sprung into battle mode, ready to fight to the death. The image of being pinned to the wall terrified Kori like nothing she had ever felt, unbridled anger unfurled in her chest and she was ready to spring when…

"Kori?"

"RICHARD!" She leapt forward, grabbing him, but it was too late. He had already see the horror. She faintly heard Roy swear profanely before lighting the candle again. Kori's heart sank as she watched Richard take it all in, the smell, the look, the horror.

"Richard…" She grabbed his hand, his skin was cold. "Robin." She touched his face, she hated for him to see this. Over the past few weeks Bruce and Richard had repaired a somewhat broken relationship. They talked about battle strategies and ways to scavenge for more ammo…They talked like old friends. She watched every ounce of trust he had in Bruce melt away, the expression was clear on his face. Betrayal.

"What the fuck is this?" He whispered.

The look on his face was tearing her apart, so she gave his side a light shove. "Upstairs, now." She sighed when he didn't move. "Let us not torture these people further by placing words on their pain, move upstairs now."

He nodded numbly and she followed him up the steps. She watched as Cheshire said a few words to Daniel and grabbed Roy's hand, following them.

They returned to the foyer, greeted by Kole, Jenn, and Wally. Kori was surprised to see them, but her current state of shock took away any effect of anger and betrayal she could've mustered.

Jenn folded her arms suddenly, breaking the impenetrable silence. "Can someone please explain to me what the hell is happening here?"

Cheshire pulled out a small dagger, eyeing the two suspiciously. "Nothing you need to know."

Jenn's mouth dropped. "Are you serious right now? We stop our date and travel all this way down a hill that could've killed us, and you tell me that?" She laughed cruelly. "Step aside bitch."

She approached the door, and it was Kori who stopped her. "Jenn, you do not wish to see this…I promise."

Jenn shoved past her and descended the steps, Wally at her heels.

Five minutes later and they were back, the same look of horror over their own faces.

Wally was the first to speak, "What the actual fuck?"

Richard, who hadn't said anything was finally vocal. "We need to gather all of our shit, and extra ammo and storm Bruce's office. It's time to mobilize the Titans. We need to take action."

"NO!" Cheshire leaped forward, a look of urgency on her face. "Do you understand what will happen if they find out we know? They'll put us up there with them, we have to think this through. We're outnumbered."

Richard scoffed and began heading towards the exit. "Bruce is my father, he wouldn't do that to me."

"Bruce is also the one who did this." Cheshire rebutted. "Don't know 'Daddy' as much as you thought, did you?"

"That's enough Jade." Roy said stepping forward. "Richard, we need to think."

"THERE IS NO THINKING HERE! PEOPLE ARE DYING!" He screamed.

"I know!" Roy yelled. "But we have to THINK!"

"Fuck that!" Richard shooed him away.

"Robin, please. Listen, maybe they are correct." Kori pleaded.

He looked at her slowly, his eyes wide. "Tell me Star…If I hadn't followed you tonight would you have told me? Or kept it a secret?"

Kori took a small step back. His words stung like a slap. She didn't know. "Richard…I cannot answer that."

"I thought you were someone I could trust!" He shouted.

"Are you being the serious?" She sneered. "I MAKE MY OWN DECISIONS! I DO NOT NEED YOU TO DO THEM FOR ME!" She huffed, her red hair unfurling from the small bun she made like a mane of fire. "You are being the selfish! What help are we to these people if we get captured?"

"That's why we need to act NOW!" Richard shoved his finger in Cheshire and Roy's direction. "As soon as you found this it should've been reported to me, after we take action you are suspended from the Titans."

"What?! That's not fair Richard! Cheshire and I were seconds away from telling Oliver, but it would've been useless! These people need a savior, not more of us down here." Roy said.

"You're a coward." Richard spat.

Wally shook his head. "That's not fair dude. We need to think."

"STOP TELLING ME TO THINK!" Richard screamed, the room tilting around him. The amount of betrayal he felt in his own adoptive father was strong. It hurt, that type of pain asked anything else going on in his head.

Kori suddenly grabbed his jacket collar, forcing his eyes to meet hers. "Richard, please. Stay calm, listen…THINK. You are a leader, not a reckless hero." She pleaded.

He looked into her emerald green eyes, and everything seemed to dull. The pain was still there, but his mind felt clearer. He nodded at her and she gave him a weak smile. "Fine." He sighed heavily, pulling away from her slowly. "We need to think…Together. Let's get out of here and consult with the other Titans, we'll vote."

"Good." Wally mumbled.

Richard looked hard at everyone. "But in the end, I have the final word, got it?"

Cheshire rolled her eyes. "Whatever, now can we get a move on? Guards make their rounds on this place every two hours."

Richard and the group blew out the candles and readied their weapons. Richard opened the door slowly, only to be greeted by a moonlit walker, its skin bloated and leaking. Two knives whizzed past his face and embedded in the eyes of the creature, it gurgled and fell to the ground. He glanced back to see Jenn smirking, knives in between her knuckles. "Thanks." He looked at his group and then back at the impending swarm of walkers. "Stay together, and fight, try not to use guns." He motioned for Jenn, Kori, Roy, and Kole to be the main attackers in the group, they had the least noisy weapons.

The Titans swopped out of the cabin like a herd of well-trained athletes. The crowd of walkers was thick, but manageable. Jenn was useful in flinging her knives to kill the walkers in their path. The uphill walk was severe, but they moved as fast as possible. Kole barely made a sound as she smashed the walkers that got too close. Her bat was dripping blood by the time they were halfway up the hill. Arrows flung by their heads, Roy and Kori in tandem with their bows.

By the time they made it back to the wall there were only a few walkers following them. They had left a trail of dead behind them. Richard sighed, whatever plan they would decide on tonight would have to be a hasty one, as it was obvious that they had been here.

One by one they squeezed through the wooden panel in the wall, they ducked down and began to move to the shadows, keeping quiet and still. The air seemed to grow colder, and little flakes of snow fell from the sky. The sky was barely starting to brighten, if he could've guessed it would be about four AM. When they passed the greenhouses Wally and Jenn looked at each other, an odd look on their faces. The group was almost home-free when a single gunshot rang out followed by a shrill scream.

Richard looked to his group and his chest began to ache with adrenaline. In the back was Kole, she was sprawled on the ground, clutching her stomach. "Titans!" He yelled. They banded together around her, holding their weapons in every direction. Richard looked in every direction. "SHOW YOURSELF!" He took a deep breath, they were so close. They just needed to pass the Gotham Square and they would've been back at the manor. Kole was crying, Kori was literally standing over her. "WHO DID THIS?" He screamed, his gun aimed outwards.

From a dark shadow emerged the last person he expected, surrounded by guards, familiar guards.

Richard's arm wavered, his gun was shaking. "B-Bruce…"

"Hello Son." Bruce stared at his group with apparent disdain. "Hello…Titans."

"Bruce, what the fuck?" Richard frowned, his chest tightening. "Y-You shot Kole."

The older man sighed and gestured his weapons belt. "Just a simple tranquilizer, she'll be fine. We have a 'no kill' policy, remember?"

Richard took a step forward, and the entire squadron surrounding Bruce raised their weapons. It was now a standoff. He recognized Connor and Megan. "A 'no kill' policy? You're kidding right?" He could feel the eyes of disapproval from behind him, but it was obvious now. There was no point in discussing anything with the Titans, this was it. "We KNOW about the cabins Bruce, and I am disgusted. You're killing people!"

"We're saving people son."

"DON'T CALL ME THAT!" Richard screamed, his arm shaking again. "There is no way in hell you're going to justify what you're doing to people."

"If you would just listen to me-"

"NO!" Richard could feel the blood in his veins boiling. "I don't want to hear ANYTHING you have to say! I knew this place was too good to be true! We're going to save those people and we're LEAVING."

Bruce sighed, readying his weapon. "I can't let you do that." He cocked his tranq-gun. "I'm sorry it had to be this way son." He aimed his gun.

"STOP!" Kori screamed, jumping in front of Richard. "You will not harm him without going through me!"

Bruce looked slightly amused, and the guards around him laughed. "Kori Anders…How pleasant of you to safe guard my son. Are you sure you wish to take his bullet."

"IF YOU HARM HIM I WILL UNLEASH XHAL'S FURY." She swallowed, readying her weapon, her eyes lined up with her bow. "I am not afraid to kill. I have done it before."

"Me too." Wally stepped forward.

"Same here." Jenn said, stepping beside him.

The Titans formed a protective circle around their leader, and Richard could only stare. To say the least, he was shocked. He had yelled, pushed, and nearly killed this group of people, and they were here protecting him. "Bruce, listen to me." He stepped forward. "We don't have to fight. Let's talk this over, just let us free these people."

"I've grown accustomed to 'listening' and it gets us nowhere Richard." He lowered his weapon. "I can see that this is going to be troublesome…So I apologize in advance." He lifted his hand and snapped his fingers. He looked at the guards around him. "Gather the rest of the Titans, some of them are in the manor."

The Titans looked up too late, there were snipers coming from another building. They shot their bullets, and Jenn barely had enough time to send a knife flying in Bruce's direction. She hit the ground on her side, protecting her stomach as the tranquilizer embedded itself in her bicep.

The Titans fell one by one.

And everything went dark.

They awoke to heavy banging at their door. Gar barely had enough time to jump up and throw on pants when three guards broke into Raven's room. Raven covered her body in a sheet. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" She screamed.

"There's been a breach." They said as they lunged for Gar.

Gar reacted immediately, tossing a lamp at them. They rebutted with a swift punch to the face, he fell to the floor, blood pouring from his nose. He attempted to jump back up, but another guard kicked him in the stomach. Gar gagged and coughed.

"GARFIELD!" Raven disregarded her nudity and attempted to attack the guard who was hand-cuffing Gar. "LEAVE HIM ALONE!" She tried to punch him but he grabbed her fist and tossed her to the side.

Raven caught herself and attempted another go, but the third guard tossed her to the side roughly. She fell towards the wall, bumping her head.

"LEAVE HER ALONE!" Gar struggled, but the three guards hefted him up and left the room, his arms and legs restrained. "RAVEN!"

Raven looked up in time to see his pleading eyes as the door slammed. She stood up, wobbling on her feet. Her head ached, her vision was blurry, but she needed to follow him. Why did they arrest him? What breach? Why didn't they arrest her?

She threw on a silk robe and double knotted it, the quickest thing she could find. Her nudity wasn't the problem, Gar's safety was. She lunged for the door, but stopped. She sprinted across the room to her dresser and threw it open. Raven blew purple strands from her eyes as she searched. Her fingers closed around a sheath, and she almost wept with relief. She grabbed the dagger and sprinted out the door, wishing she had time to grab her Uzi. She skirted the corners and followed the sounds of Gar swearing and struggling. By the time she rounded the last corner the front doors of the manor closed.

Raven felt the breeze break through her robe but didn't care. All that mattered was Gar, all she cared about was Gar.

All she needed was Gar.

She broke into a sprint and flew out the doors of the manor.
