A/N – Thanks for all the file condolences. I appreciate it. There is some big news in this chapter. This story isn't going to go on forever, so I figured this was a good time to throw it in there. Guest who keeps asking how Anthony knows. I'm not sure what exactly you mean. I have explained why Anthony thinks Jason framed him and why he's after his children. If you mean how did he know where Johnny & Claudia were hiding, then that is explained in a few chapters. Anthony's men are still working for him and it's no secret where Liz's studio is so it's not like he couldn't get the information. He's still running his organization from jail. Chapter 38 – Wide Awake
Sarah ran into the hospital. She saw everyone in the waiting room and hurried towards them.
Jason met her half way and they approached the nurse's desk together.
"This is Elizabeth Webber's sister."
The nurse looked at Sarah's ID and then directed her down the hall.
She turned to Jason and called out. "I'll be back as soon as I can."
He nodded and then returned to his seat.
A nurse walked towards Johnny and said, "Sir, why don't you go put this on. You can give me your shirt when you're done and I'll get rid of it."
Johnny smiled gratefully and took the shirt from his hands and walked towards the bathroom.
It took about ten minutes for Sarah return. The group stood and she stopped in front of them.
"She's stable, for now, but is still unconscious. Dr. Clark thinks she a very bad concussion as well as some cuts and abrasions. She also has two bruised ribs and there's a gash on her forehead and one on the back of her head."
"Can I see her?"
"Yes, but just prepare yourself. She is pretty banged up."
Jason nodded as Sarah took his hand and led him down the hallway to Liz's room.
As he walked into the room and saw her, he suddenly froze. She is starting to bruise all over her arms and has a huge lump and cut on her forehead which is turning all sorts of colors. The paleness of her skin gave him pause and his heart clenched, unable to stand to see her like that.
Sarah urged him to go closer and she pulled up a chair for him to sit down. He sat in it and went to reach for Liz's hand, but he paused, not wanting to cause her anymore pain.
"It's okay to touch her Jason."
He nodded and then took a deep breath before gently grasping it.
"Baby, it's Jason. I need you to wake up now."
He glanced at Sarah when she didn't respond and Sarah encouraged him to keep talking to Liz.
The doctor entered the room. "I need to take her to get some scans."
Jason stood and they reluctantly left the room. They slowly returned to the waiting room when Monica came into view.
"Monica."
"Jason."
She hugged him and Jason relaxed against her.
"Thank you. I think I really needed that."
Monica slightly smiled. "I heard that Liz was admitted, so I just came down to see if there was anything I could do."
"Thanks. Mom, this is, Sarah, Liz's sister."
Monica shook her hand. She realized Jason had called her mom which really made her feel good.
"She's also a doctor."
"Oh. What area do you practice?"
"Pediatrics"
"We do have an opening if you're interested. You know, once Liz is back on her feet."
Sarah smiled. "Thank you, I'll definitely follow up with you."
They sat down and about ten minutes passed before a nurse approached them.
"You can go see her now."
Jason and Sarah stood and started walking and he stopped in his tracks and turned back to look at his mother.
"Don't worry, I'll wait."
He smiled and then continued on, happy to get to be near his girl, but sad that he hadn't protected her.
They had just barely got in the room when they notice that there is a lot of activity outside of Liz's door.
The doctor looks shocked by something and every muscle in Jason's body clenched.
"I'm sorry," the doctor said walking into the room, "I need to exam Liz for a moment. Can you both please go back to the waiting room?"
"Is she okay?"
The doctor nodded and they had no choice but to head back.
Monica could tell that Jason looks upset and she hopes that nothing had happened to Elizabeth. "What's going on?"
"Something happened, but they won't tell us what."
Monica patted his arm. "I'll go see if I can find out."
She walked off as Jason just stood there helpless; feeling like a truck had rolled over him.
Sarah pulled him into a hug which he gladly accepted.
"She's going to okay. She just has to be."
They separated and then went back to the others until Monica came back about fifteen minutes later.
Jason ran over to her, but she held up her hand, directing him back towards the chairs.
"I think you better sit down for this," she said with a smile.
Jason did as he was told and waited for her to talk.
"I'm not sure how to tell you this."
Jason tensed up. "Just say it."
"Liz is pregnant."
Everyone gasped.
"What? How can that be possible?" Jason managed to get out.
"But, she can't have kids," Sarah said in shock.
Monica smiled. "Well, apparently, that is not the case anymore."
"Can I see her?" Jason asked.
"You can see her soon. They are moving her to a regular room. It's 3141."
"Is there a waiting room up there?"
"Yes."
Jason motioned to everyone as Claudia approached them with some coffee.
"What's going on?"
"Liz is pregnant." Johnny said.
"Wow. That's great," Claudia said smiling.
"We're moving to another floor," Milo informed her.
They hurried to the elevator and went upstairs. Jason couldn't believe he's going to be a dad and is in shock.

They settled into the new waiting room.
"I can have Milo take you to the penthouse if you want."
"Hell no! Jason, I don't have friends. I know that is hard to believe, but take a minute," Claudia said as Jason smiled back.
"I consider you and Liz my friends and there is no way I'm leaving you here alone."
"Thanks. I do appreciate everything both of you have done."
The doctor entered the room. "Okay, you can see her now."
Jason got up and followed her to the room. This time, he didn't hesitate to pull up a chair and sit next to her.
"Liz, I really need you to wake up. I have to tell you something really important."
She didn't move.
"Please, baby." He laid head on the bed and silently cried before falling asleep.
He was out for about an hour before Liz finally opened her eyes.

Liz struggled to lift her eyelids. When they finally fluttered open, she tried to focus, but everything was kind of spinning. She almost panicked and her heart felt like it is beating a mile a minute and her head feels like it is going to explode, not to mention that her whole body was sore.
She finally is able to make sense of her surroundings and spots Jason. She puts her hand over his and he starts to move.
