Thirty Nine- Back in Time

The Briefs living room was dead silent. You could everyone's breathing as they took in the grave news. Trunks had his elbows resting on his knees as his head rested on his chin. Somehow, he could understand his counterparts pain. He didn't want to even think of what losing Pan like that could feel like. Beside him, Pan was holding Blake tightly as he slept. She was horrified at what had happened to her, no wonder Blake had been worried about something happening to her.

"So," Gohan was the first to speak. "The answer to wake up your mom... And to stop Sryuo, is here?"

Sophia nodded, "that's what Mommy said."

"Is there any hints as to what it might be?" Bulma asked. Sophia looked down, shaking her head slowly.

"The other Tuffles will be landing soon, won't they?" Vegeta asked. "This time, instea of letting them go we must kill them all."

"Actually, you won't have to worry about them..." Hiashi spoke up. "Sryuo is more demented then you think... Before making a stop here he made a stop to visit the other Tuffles... He killed them all before absorbing himself."

Bulla's eye widened, "that's horrible!"

Hiashi nodded, "it's the way he works."

"You said I knew the answer, right?" Pan asked, and Sophia nodded. "Could it be possible that my counterpart is trying to contact me to tell me the answers?" When everyone looked at her in shock, she gave a deep blush.

"What do you mean, Panny?" Gohan asked.

"Well... The day Sophia and Blake showed up I had a dream of Trunks' counterpart... He told me I had the answer and he needed it. A few months later, I had another dream but this time of a woman. Thinking about it now, she looked like a spirit... She told me not to be afraid and that everything would be explained in time. She said hard times would be coming and we needed to stick together."

"And that woman wasn't your counterpart?" Goten asked.

"No," Pan shook her head. "She knew who I was though."

Trunks turned to look at Hiashi, "when do you think Sryuo will arrive again?"

Hiashi shrugged, "it's hard to tell, the scientist that Sryuo has working for him aren't as advanced as us. It could r weeks before he arrived again, which means months in this time."

Trunks nodded, "just keep us informed."

Pan stood up carefully, Blake still in her arms. Trunks stood up only a second later as as spoke, "it's getting late. I need to put the kids to bed."

Trunks placed a hand on Hiahi's shoulder as Sophia grabbed his free one. "Go ahead and head back. I'm sure your parents are worried about you."

Hiashi nodded, "I'll be back soon," he promised before disappearing.

"Panny," Goku called, gaining her attention. "If you have anymore of those dreams, let us know. It could be that your counterpart is trying to contact you."

Pan nodded before continuing up the stairs with Trunks and Sophia. They arrived at the kids room where Sophia changed into her night clothes as Pan helped a still sleeping Blake into his. He instantly fell back onto the bed and curled up. Pan lifted up the blankets over him and held them up as Sophia crawled under.

Sophia looked up at Trunks and Pan with wide eyes. "Are you two mad at us for not telling you the truth...?"

"No," Trunks told her softly. "You two were trying to make it to where we didn't have to worry. We know now though. Don't worry, we will find the answer," he promised her.

Sophia looked up at Pan. "Do you really think my Momma is trying to contact you?"

"Possibly," Pan smiled. "I think she might be trying to tell me the answer, since in a way, we are connected to one another. Hopefully, if she is, our connection will come through and we will soon know."

After goodnight kisses, Trunks and Pan left the room. They walked in silence as they made their way to the Saiyan room. Once there, Pan sat on the couch bringing Trunks with her. The minutes that passed by felt like hours.

"Say something," Pan looked at Trunks, not being able to stand the silence any longer.

Trunks let out a deep sigh. "I can't get the picture of you in that sleep like state out of my head..." He looked at her gently, "I don't know what I would do, if something ever happened to you..."

Pan laid her head on his chest and let out a sigh as well. "I can't believe all that had happened in the other timeline... And now, it is affecting ours. This is horrible Trunks, what are we going to do?"

"I don't know," Trunks answered honestly, wrapping an arm around her waist tightly. "I just don't know... But I do know, that I'm not going to let anything happen to you, or Sophia, or Blake..." Pan could only nod. The future at this time and moment, was unknown...
