I knew I said I want this story finished by now but I was just to lazy during the holidays. There are still two or three chapters left to write but it will be finished before CoHF is released. I'm so excited :D I'm not sure if I can survive if Cassie actually kills either Magnus or Alec. What do you think? Will they get back together?

I don't own the characters, the great Cassandra Clare does.

Enjoy :D

Chapter 39: Confession

"You really think I should tell them just yet, Bells? You know how they are. They wouldn't even let me talk to him." I asked my best friend Bellatrix for the hundredth time now. We were sitting on her bed and she was trying to persuade me into telling my parents about my boyfriend. Again. Like she had done for at least half a year now.

"Maggie, just tell them. He is part of your life now. Aren't you sick of hiding? You have never lied to your parents. They will understand, they love you." She reassured me. As much as I would have loved to believe her I just couldn't.

"But they will say that he's to old for me. And that he only uses me, that it is nothing serious to him. That he will dump me." I argued. Bella snorted.

"You know, he isn't even half the age of your father. They have an age difference of 800 years. You two have much less. And besides both of you are immortal. What does time even matter to you. And if this was just an affair to him he would have dumped you long ago. I'm surprised you could even hide it so long from them. I mean it lasted for a year now, didn't it?" She had a point. All my arguments seemed worthless against hers. There was no reason to hide my boyfriend from my parents any longer. Well apart from the point that they already knew and disliked him.

"But they hate each other." I tried to escape my fate again.

"You're impossible. I already told you, they will accept him if they truly love you. It is your choice who you choose to date or not to date. I'm sure they will be more troubled that you kept it for one year now." She emphasized her last words. I couldn't deny her words were true but still I was uncertain. Before I could bring up another argument she spoke again. "Besides, didn't he say he would lay down the old grudges for your sake? If he can so can they. Hell, even I can despite all the hatred between vampires and werewolves. I must say I even enjoy his company now. He isn't the nasty and selfish boy that he is said to be." She finished her speech and left me wordless. What was I supposed to bring up against this. Knowing that she in fact was right didn't make it easier though.

"And how exactly am I supposed to introduce them properly?" I asked desperately. "If I just bring him home like 'hey dad this is my new boyfriend' they will murder me. Well less me but him." I sighed.

" Then don't bring him home like that." Bella smiled reassuringly. "Prepare them. Carefully. First tell them you have a boyfriend. Then let them promise to let go of all prejudices. Tell them how long it has been going on now. And only if they can cope with all that then you tell them who he is. Let them calm down and then finally you bring him home with you. Easy going." Yeah sure, easy going. If I only had her careless attitude. But her plan was actually good. That could work.

"Go, do it now. Before you lose your courage." She told me and pushed me of the bed. I growled at her but then nodded.

"Will you come with me?" I asked her. I would feel much better knowing that I wasn't alone with this. And in addition I wouldn't be able to chicken out if she watched over me. She would pressure me to go if I attempted to change my mind.

"Yeah, sure." She answered. "Now go before I kick your ass." She smiled but still I knew she was serious. Together we walked to my home. I let us in with my key and we entered the apartment. Bella pushed me inside when I made the attempt to turn around and leave again.

"We do this NOW. Together." She whispered into my ear before raising her voice. "Magnus, Alec, we're home." As soon as she said that, both of them came hurried towards us. They gave both of us hugs. They had begun to treat Bella like family because she was here at least four times a week and we were inseparable.

"Did you just want to announce your presence or is there something else going on?" Magnus asked jokingly. Like always he hit the nail on the head. He waved us inside.

"Actually there is something I need to talk to you about." I admitted. Bella winked at me, knowing that now none of them would let go of the topic until I told them. There was no way I was getting out of this now.

"Maybe you should sit down for this." I said and sat down on an armchair myself. Bella sat down next to me. The armchair was gladly huge enough for the both of us but no one else. So I was out of reach. My fathers sat down on the couch facing us.

"Subtle and slowly." Bella reminded me. I nodded nervously. I felt like a convict confessing his crime.

"What do you want to tell us?" Magnus asked warily but also encouragingly. "You didn't do anything illegal, did you?" So I didn't just feel like a convict but I looked like one too.

"No, that's not it." I said lamely. Then before I could stop myself I blurted out. "I'mgoingoutwithRaphaelSantiago."

"Talking about being subtle and slow. There goes my plan." I heard Bella mutter next to me.

"I didn't quite catch that." Magnus said.

"I'm sort of going out with...with Raphael Santiago."
