Author's Note: Before anyone starts asking questions of why I am posting a new chapter on a Monday instead of my normal Thursdays, I have purposely mapped out in advance of when I wanted this story to end. With there being three chapters left, I guess you can figure out which day I want it to end. Anyway, thank you for all of your support, reviews, and thank you for taking the time to read Anna's story. These last three chapters are in Gale's point of view and Gale has returned to Castanet! SO.. I guess I must add a disclaimer again, I DO NOT OWN ANY THING THAT IS RELATED TO HARVEST MOON IN THIS STORY (Natsume does). Please enjoy!

Chapter 38: Star Bright (Wizard's Point of View)

The rest of the season passed by in a blink of an eye. Gale and Finn had managed to gather nine out of the ten required wishes in order to help Edge restore his purple bell. Gale spent me time in order to receive these wishes, yet it took him awhile to complete the task because his heart was elsewhere.

"I still don't think it was fair to read people's hearts to find out their wishes." Finn crossed his arms and he shook his head slightly upset by Gale's force.

"There was no mention... of how I was to gather these wishes..." Gale bowed his head one more time and told the mural the final wish, "Vivi wishes for a potion that makes people tell the truth."

The mural glowed brightly and the last splash of color returned to the painting. It was a beautiful painting of the Harvest Goddess standing next to the Goddess tree. Finn jumped with happiness and Gale stood there with his arms crossed.

"Yay!" Finn exclaimed, "It looks like the painting is fully restored!" Finn floated in front of Gale and clapped his hands together, "The bell's power should also be back!" He then tugged on Gale's braid, "Let's go to Edge's Bell!"

Gale pinched Finn's wings and pulled him of of his braid, "Get off of me."

"Ow!" Finn yelped and rubbed his wings, "That hurt!"

"You'll live..." Gale said coldly.

Finn held back a tear and flew low to the ground.

Edge popped out the purple bell and sniffled some tears, "Waaaaaah!" He bawled loudly.

"Stop bawling, you crybaby." Gale scowled.

"Gale!" Finn snapped at the irked wizard and comforted his friend, "Please don't cry Edge."

"Sorry." He wiped away some tears, "B-But these are... happy tears..." He held his heart, "Everyone's..." he sniffed, "wishes... I'm so happy." He smiled but tears still fell, "I can't help myself."

Gale rolled his eyes, "Just ring the bell."

Edge sniffed a few more times before he faced the bell and apologized, "I'm really sorry if this doesn't work."

"It better..." Gale mumbled under his breath and received a worried glance from Finn.

"Please ring!" Edge ordered the bell, "Let everyone hear your melody!"

They waited for several moments for the bell to ring, but it did not even sway.

"Wasn't... it supposed to ring?" Finn asked Edge.

He nodded and cried, "Waaaaah! I'm sorry! It was supposed to work!"

"Well..." Gale asked, "Why didn't it?"

"I think... someone..." Edge gulped, "Lied... about their wish."

"What!?" Finn's eyes almost popped out of his tiny head, "Why would someone do that!?"

Edge shrugged and continued to bawl.

Finn flew at Gale and poked him viciously, "It was you!" He accused Gale and cried, "Why did you lie?!"

Gale glared at him, "The wish that I gave was no lie Finn..." He gave Finn a mental push.

Edge rubbed his puffy eyes, "Maybe... that wish has changed... since you first made it."

Gale bit his tongue and looked down at the floor, guilty.

Finn floated onto the depressed wizard's shoulder and asked, "What is your wish, Gale?"

"It..." He sighed, "was to have an all-powerful telescope... but..." He swallowed hard, "Now... all I wish for... is Anna..."

Edge nodded and faced the bell again. He sniffled out his command once more, "Please ring! Let everyone hear your melody!" The bell rang its low bell tone throughout the land. Once the tune was complete, Edge sobbed, "Such a happy melody..." He wailed, "Thank you! Now, back to the Goddess..." With that, he disappeared.

"Gale..." Finn looked down, "Anna... will come back... right?"

Gale did not answer Finn nor did he look at him as Gale teleported back home.

Gale entered the gloomy home that held a somber aura since Anna's departure. He started a pot of coffee and shuffled through old parchment that Gale had written in his time as an apprentice. Since he had returned from that world of magic, Gale had decided to read through his journals of his past. Gale sat at his table and flipped through several diary entries and some unfinished poems until he stumbled on four little, haunting words...

Find her. Save him.

Gale ripped up that once cryptic message and did not stop tearing it apart until it was in dozens of tiny pieces. Gale dropped his head into his propped up arms and several tears escaped from his eyes.

"Why..." Gale groaned, "Why did I take her back...?" He hit his head multiple times, "I could have prevented all of this... only if I had not ask for that stupid, selfish wish..."

Since his visit with his master, Gale's memories slowly returned to him. He remembered the way his father treated him; he remembered the day when Charles accepted him as an apprentice; he remembered Isabelle and how she accepted him as a son; and above all, he remembered Anna.

His favorite memory of her was of her persistent personality one summer's eve. She wore a beautiful white cotton dress that ended just above her knees. Her hair was almost shoulder length and her hair was a light brown compared to her auburn colored hair now. She wore tan boots that rose above her ankles. He smiled when he reminisced her boldness of sitting on his lap and interrogating him about his life before magic. Gale look at his hand and remembered when he brushed away a stray lock from her face. He remembered the way she gazed at him that night and he remembered all of the strong feelings of love that he felt for her that first time.

"I wish..." Gale stood up from his chair and walked towards his massive telescope and stared out the window that the telescope was aimed at. He waited silently and paitently for a single star to sore through the night sky. Once it was found, Gale continued, "to hold her in my arms... just one more time..." A light flashed behind him and he spun to see the source of the light. He was left with a rolled up scroll with the seal of his master. He jumped at the letter and ripped the seal.

Gale,

Anna is alive...

After you were sent back to Castanet, Anna became unconscious and fell into a coma. It has been at least three seasons since that day, and for you, maybe about a season, but that does not matter, just know that she is alive and I expect her to be waking up within this season. Her body has recovered well from the incident, and it had helped the fact the former mayor had missed all of her vital organs. He is currently being exiled as I write this.

I will write again once she wakes up and is stable.

Until then, Charles
