Chapter 38

Drinks and Friends don't always mix

Dean, Seth, and Roman found a table in the back of the club in a quiet section away from their co-workers. They were all still a little upset by having their vacation interrupted by an impromptu match for Dean to defend his United States championship but the match went well. Dean held onto the title and the boys were promised an extra day off. HHH had rented a club up the street from the arena so that the wrestlers and crew could have some time to wind down and enjoy themselves a little without the distraction of other patrons. They would have had no fun if they had to sign autographs all night.

Dean told them about his visit to Georgia and how he thinks it didn't go well at all. Robbie was cool with Dean but Maddie had a complete breakdown, Claire's father didn't like him and Claire's mother didn't trust him. Not to mention the constant supervision of the body guards and getting lost in the mansion a few times. "I just may have gotten myself in over my head." He downs his first beer in no time to Seth and Roman's dismay.

"Easy there big guy, you know how you get when you drink too much." Seth warns.

"It's OK, my mother's here." Dean said pointing at Roman's angry face.

"Shut up you damn fool, I am not your mother, I just try and keep your ass out of trouble because…"

"Because it affects the whole team." Both Dean and Seth said in unison though they knew there was a strong bond between all three of them. Even when The Shield breaks up, they knew they would still be in each other's lives. They had become close like brothers.

"I am going to get another one." Dean stood up and went over to the bar. "The only thing Dean liked more than beer was free beer which tonight the company was paying for.

"Hi Dean!" Dean looks over and sees Paige.

"Hi! I didn't know you were going to be here."

"I am here with The Bellas."

"My sympathies." He said as he grabs two beers and heads back over to his table and Paige follows him.

"Do you mind if I sit with you?" Paige bats her eyelashes at Dean but he pretends not to notice to her dismay. She had bought this stunning little black dress just in hopes of running into him tonight. It hugs her curves seductively leaving little to the imagination. Her long dark hair framed her face beautifully.

"Well I am here with the guys." Dean said pointing to the table where Seth and Roman sat drinking their beers.

Paige frowns. She was so hoping he would get the hint but he was being difficult. Paige had decided she wanted him back and she was going to do whatever to takes to get him away from that blonde woman. She was not Dean's type that was obvious. Paige belonged with Dean.

"Well maybe later tonight we could hang out." She noticed Dean was drinking and she knew before too long he would be putty in her hands as long as Seth and Roman stayed out of it. She figured she would keep an eye out on him and when he would get low, she would send a waitress over with more beers. She knew she was acting desperate but she was desperate.

"OK." Dean said politely walking back over to Seth and Roman.

"Two Dean, Really?" Seth asked.

"Yep!" Dean picked up the fist bottle and downed half of quickly.

"You know check out is at 11am?"

Dean groaned. He had almost forgotten about that. He really wanted to get drunk and pass out for a day.

"OK, when I start to get buzzed, I will cut myself off." He would just pay for an extra night in the hotel room but he was flying to Las Vegas in the morning. He needed to check on his place. He wasn't sure when Claire was going to show up. He text her what time his flight would get in but still no response. He hoped she was OK.

A waitress arrived not too much later with a tray full of drinks for the table. The guys were just enjoying themselves talking about tonight's match and Roman's upcoming push. Dean and Seth were both jealous but they were proud of him as well.

"Maybe they will give you a cape and tights." Seth joked because one of Roman's signature moves, the Superman Punch.

"HAHA, funny Rollins!" Roman sneered.

"Well we know you are going to be the bad guy Dean"

"Of course I play it so well." Dean said.

"Roman is Superman, Dean, you're the Joker, where does that leave me?' Seth was a little upset by how things were working out.

"Supergirl!" Dean joked. Roman and Dean started laughing while Seth gave them the finger.

"Look Superman it's a bird!" Dean laughed. He could feel the buzz hitting him.

"Yeah and I am going to break that bird's neck in a minute." Roman growled.

They were all three having such a good time hanging with each other and they all three began drinking more and more and more. Dean had to go to the restroom and left the table. While on his way back her over heard The Bella Twins talking with Cameron and Naomi.

"I just don't understand why John doesn't want to have a baby. I know now is not a good time but later on. I want a baby." Nikki Bella pouted. "Even Dean Ambrose knocked up someone. How that is possible that a creep like Ambrose is procreating but a nice guy like Cena doesn't want to. What is this world coming to?"

"Ambrose knocked someone up? Who?" Cameron asks with a laugh.

"Remember that blonde chick, the senator's wife that visited last month?"

"Yes!" Both Cameron and Naomi said in unison.

"It was her." Nikki loved gossip and this was the juiciest in the company.

"Are you serious? He got a senator's wife pregnant. WOW! I have heard it all now. She looks too normal for him." Naomi said.

"He is kind of HOT though! He did look concerned when he was carrying her to the back though, he was trying to hide it but I think I saw something almost human in him then." Cameron said and the girls laughed. "But he is a strange one."

"He is not as HOT as John though." Nikki had to put in. Of course no one was going to comment on Brie's man though she knew what they were thinking.

"Come on Daniel is HOT in his own way. He is a wonderful man." Brie loved her hairy man and she didn't care about looks anyway. They all knew Brie was a lucky woman; he was the top dog right now in WWE. The fans loved him and he was the sweetest man in the world.

Cameron and Naomi didn't know how the Bella Twins had somehow managed to get the two hottest superstars in the WWE today, but they did. Brie was on cloud 9 with her fiancée but Nikki was finding a relationship with John Cena not as easy. Unfortunately for her, her whole relationship at the moment was being played out on their hit reality TV show Total Divas. They didn't notice Dean standing there listening to their whole conversation.

"Anyways, apparently Paige, a diva from, NXT, use to date Dean and she still is hung up on him because he never really officially broke up with her when he went to the main roster, he just stopped calling her." Nikki loved having all the attention on her.

"That jerk!" Naomi said and Cameron and Brie agreed.

"Well, I have been working with the NXT divas last week and Paige was so upset and she couldn't get it together so I took her to the side and that is when she spilled it all. She is devastated." Nikki added for emphasis.

OK, I have had enough Dean thought as he walked over to the girls and threw his arms around Nikki and Brie. They all jumped in surprise when they saw him.

"Dean!" They all echoed in shock.

"How long have you been standing there?" Brie asked uncomfortably.

"Well long enough to know that Cena doesn't want a baby with you Nikki and can't say that I blame him and that what kind of world is this where I can procreate but Cena doesn't want to. Oh yeah and Paige, who I never officially broke up with is heartbroken because I knocked up a senator's wife. Does that cover about everything?" He smirked at them all. They could smell the alcohol and they all wrinkled their noses.

"Gross, you smell like beer." Brie said.

"Oh Brie, that's because I am in Brie mode." He joked and they stood there not sure what to do next.

"Before I leave ladies, is there anything else I should know about my life since Nikki, you know-it-all? Exactly how many people have you told?"

"I am sure she has told no one else, right Nikki." Brie looked at Nikki hoping she hadn't gone blabbering her mouth off to everyone about this but Nikki could look at neither Dean nor Brie.

"Well, I would like to Thank You Nikki for ruining my life. I was going to tell Mr. McMahon in person but I am sure you called him the moment the baby was conceived and told him all about the good news before he could hear it from me. He is probably going to fire me so thank you for everything."

"I am sure it won't come to that Dean. Just go talk to him right away. I am sure it will be OK." Brie said glaring at Nikki for being such a big mouth.

"Congratulations to you and Daniel, Brie. Cameron, thank you for thinking I'm Hot. Naomi congratulations to you and Jimmy. Nikki, my sympathies to John." Dean smirked and took off.

Nikki glares at Dean. "What?" She said angrily as Dean stomped off looking for Paige.

He found her hanging out with some of the other divas. He didn't even ask her, he just grabs Paige by the arm and starts dragging her to the outside smoking area. "We need to talk." Was all he said as they headed for the double doors in the back of the club. Once outside, Dean let go of Paige.

"What made you tell Nikki Bella of all people that I knocked up Claire Langston?"

Paige at first didn't hear what he asked, or maybe she was so distracted by the anger in his icy blue eyes to actually hear and process the question. "What?"

"I said, what possessed you to tell the biggest gossip at WWE, Nikki Bella about me knocking up Claire Langston?" Dean was pissed. No wonder he had been getting stares all night but when he looked at them they would turn their heads and act like they hadn't stared at all. No one had even approached him all night, which he found not to odd but usually a couple of the guys would be at least cordial. NOTHING ALL NIGHT!

Paige didn't know what to say.

"How did you even know? Only two people here knew, Seth and Roman and I know neither one of them would tell anyone, least of all Nikki Bella." Dean was getting frustrated with her silence. "YOU BETTER START TALKING NOW!"

Paige jumps at the harshness in his voice. "Last week, when I saw you at the show, I Wanted to talk to you longer but then she showed up. I didn't know you were fucking her, so I stayed over and waited for you. When you, Seth, and that woman came out, I heard you three talking about possible baby names your baby."

"I didn't see you."

"That's because I was waiting in a corner. You walked right past me."

"Do you still have a thing for me?"

"I still love you if that is what you are asking me Dean. I thought we were a couple and you just left without ever really saying goodbye." Paige could feel the tears streaming down her cheek and she brushed her dark tresses behind her ear. "I was hurt and Nikki was there to listen to me."

"Why didn't you ever call me and talk to me about this Paige. I really liked you but we never made a commitment to each other. We were both waiting to go to the main roster and then we knew our lives would change. I didn't call you back not because I didn't like you or I didn't care but because they have been working my ass off since I moved up a year ago. I go home to my condo in Las Vegas maybe twice in a month if I am lucky and you live in Tampa." Dean ran his fingers through his hair roughly. "I haven't had a chance to talk to Vince yet Paige. I could lose my job because this could be a huge scandal."

"It's not my fault you fucked some senator's wife." Paige said angrily.

Dean was so angry, he wanted to hit something; he had to get away from Paige so he walks to the other side facing the wall and kicks it angrily. "DAMMIT!" He shouts. How his life had erupted into this big mess he didn't know. He was just trying to help Claire out that night and now he barely recognized his life at all.

"Dean, I am so sorry. I didn't think Nikki would say anything. I really just needed someone to talk to then and she seemed sympathetic. Please don't hate me." Paige walks over to Dean and turns him around to face her.

"You should have come to me first Paige."

"I am sorry." Paige drew him close to her and cupped his face in her hands and kissed him passionately. Dean at first had a hard time registering the kiss. He was drunk. He knew it. The kiss felt so familiar in his drunken state and he pulled her close to him to deepen the kiss. Paige ran her fingers through his hair as they kissed passionately. He felt so good in her arms. She wants him desperately. She moans and that was what got Dean's attention.

He pulls away from the kiss realizing he was kissing Paige. "Oh No!" He said and he tried to let her go but she grabs onto Dean and jumps into his arms and cups his face in her hands and kisses him again. She wraps her legs around his waist. "Paige Stop!" Dean mumbles in between kisses. "Paige, I said stop!" Dean says angrily pushing her off of him and she falls to the ground. She buries her face in her hands and cries. Dean disgusted with himself, takes off and goes back inside.

Dean didn't see Nikki standing by the door as he comes in and she goes out the door to check on Paige.

"Paige, are you OK?" Nikki bends down towards Paige.

"No, I just made a complete fool of myself and now Dean hates me. I will never win him back." Paige cries. "He is having a baby with that woman, I can't compete with that." Paige says in between sobs.

"Maybe you won't have to." Nikki says with a wicked smile.

"I don't understand."

"Here, I am sending you some pictures to your phone. If you want that woman to leave him alone, send them to her. Then he will be all yours." Nikki was evil when she was out for revenge and Dean Ambrose embarrassing her in front of her friends was reason enough for revenge.

"I don't have her number."

"I will get it and text it to you but save the pictures, OK. That is if you want him back."

"I Do!" Paige cries.

"Then do what I say and you will have him back in no time." Nikki gets up and leaves Paige alone to gather herself together.

"ROOKIES." Nikki laughs as she goes back inside hoping everything goes according to plan and then Dean's world will blow up in his face she snickers before joining her friends.
