Season 7 of the vampire Diaries was good start but the last few episodes weren't t that great to me but man that ending! I felt bad for Damon b/c he was finally doing good and right things then that damn thing takes over his body and he's bad even though it's not him but I know he's gonna hate himself when he is himself again. I hope TVD's ends after season 8 because what more can they do? And Nina better come back! I want my happy ending for Damon and Elena! Lol

Any who on with the story!

Chapter 37:

Six Months Later

I was standing in front of my full-length mirror in my old bedroom. The dress fit a bit loose but that didn't matter I got to have my mom with me on my day by wearing her wedding dress. The dress wasn't your typical over the top wedding gown it was a simple white dress with lace over the satin material. My parents had a small wedding ceremony with their close family and friends and that's what Damon and I were doing too.

We were engaged for a short time but with Damon's father growing sicker each passing day we wanted to get marry while he was still here with us. I told Damon I wanted something small and not over the top and he agreed with me so we began looking up small venues but nothing seem right.

Then one day while having lunch with Stefan and Caroline we told them that we can't find the perfect spot to have our wedding. Stefan came and saved the day by suggesting their house, it has a huge backyard/garden to fit our guest and the house was large enough to host a party after the ceremony. The idea sound perfect to have the wedding in our hometown, Mystic Falls and their dad wouldn't have to travel alone or risk not being a part of it because of traveling; he still lives in the house so it's perfect!

A soft knock on my door broke me from my thoughts, "come in." I said.

My Aunt Jenna came and she pauses as she sees me, "Oh my goodness, you look just like your mother when she got married." She tried her best to hold in her tears.

"Stop it you're going to make me cry." I fan my hands in front of my face to help control the tears.

"Okay I promise I'll stop saying sappy stuff." She grabs my hands in hers, "You do look beautiful. Are you almost ready?" She asks.

"I think so. I mean yes I am ready just nervous which is normal right?" She laughs, "Yes it's okay to be nervous on your wedding day."

Caroline knocks on my door and she is there with her clipboard and headset, "Hey, no time for hugs and pep talks we got a wedding to get too." She points to her watch.

Caroline suggested that we ladies stay in my house while the boys stayed in the boarding house where the wedding was being held, she said to keep tradition alive with the bride and groom spending one night apart before the big day. Damon hated that idea when she first brought it to the table but Caroline was not taking no for an answer.

Bonnie appears in my room next and carrying the newest addition to our little family. "How much longer? I'm scared he's going to barf on my bridesmaid dress or pee all over me." Bonnie said with disgust as she held Max in her arms.

"Here I'll take him while you girls have your moment." Jenna takes Max downstairs.

I walk towards my two best friends and take each of their hands in mine, "thank you for being part of my special day. You two are the sisters I never had and ugh I must not cry but screw it I love you guys and you have no idea what you mean to me." I embrace them in a group hug and not all three of us could stop the tears from flowing.

"No, I didn't schedule crying." Caroline playfully jokes as she hands us each a tissue.

I dried my eyes and look myself in the mirror once more to make sure my make-up wasn't ruined. "All good but I'm sure once I see Damon I'll be a mess again. Okay let's do this." I grab my bouquet of roses and Bonnie helped me with my dress down each step.

Jeremy was waiting for us at end of the stairs, "Finally I was starting to think we got a runaway bride on our hands." He said as he takes my arm in his. "Ha-ha little brother." The limo we rented for the day was waiting for us in front of the house.

The photographer had to take 100 pictures before we even got in the car and then another 100 more once we got in the limo and drove off; this was the least fun part of getting married – the unless pictures but in the end I'm going to end up loving each one of them.

Jenna popped open a bottle of champagne and pour each of us a glass, "To Elena and Damon!" Everyone cheered in the limo and we all clink our glasses.

We drove over the hill and there stood the beautiful home of the Salvatore's. There were a few cars parked in front of the large home and but there was enough room for us to drive in and parked. Each of girls got out of the car and Jeremy helped me get out of the limo. Caroline fixed my veil and fluff up my dress a bit, "There all set." She hands me my bouquet. "Thank you." I hugged her and can't believe after this day we'll be sisters.

Jenna held Max in his carrier as Caroline went to get the vintage carriage to put Max in since he was our ring bearer and Jenna will push him down the aisle. "Is everyone ready? You all know your roles and how to walk down the aisle?" Caroline asks each of us.

"Yes Care I think we can manage walking." Bonnie rolls her eyes. "Watch it Bennet, one day I'll help you plan your wedding day. Let me check if the boys are ready." She clicks on the head set and waits for the person to pick up.

"Hi honey, are you guys ready? Uh-huh-okay – see you soon. Stefan is taking Damon to the garden now; let's wait here a bit so the bride and groom don't see each other." She then tells us to cover me in case Damon tries to sneaks a peak at me.

My stomach started to feel funny and my hands began to shake, oh curse these nerves. I knew us getting married isn't a mistake but why do I feel so nervous? I know he's here and going to be there when I meet him down the aisle but I keep having this feeling like something more is going to happen. The more I thought about it the more sick I felt and I held my hand to my mouth and Caroline saw me.

"Bathroom!" She guides me to the rest room and I let it all out.

She held a wet cloth for me after I was done throwing up. "You okay?" She was full of concern.

"I think so." I said as I pat myself with the wet cloth. "I think you're the first bride that throws up before the party." Caroline tries to lighten the mood and I softly chuckle at her.

"Yeah leave it to me to do things backwards. Do I look okay?"

She looks me over and digs into her purse, "Here let me just blush you up and you should be good as new." Caroline applies blush and a little bit of concealer for under my eyes as well.

"Ok all set." Her phone starts to ring and its Stefan calling,

"What's the hold up?" Stefan sounds worried over the phone.

Before Caroline had a chance to tell Stefan what went wrong, "Don't tell him I threw up. He'll tell Damon and Damon will come running here to see if I'm okay. Make up a lie." She nods her head and tells her husband that their son threw up and she had to run to the bathroom to wash him up and it got a little on her dress too.

"We'll be there in five minutes tops. See you soon." I guess Stefan bought it since they hung up.

"You sure you're okay to walk down the aisle?" She double check.

"Yeah I feel better." I still felt a bit woozy but I will not let it stop me from marrying Damon. We left the bathroom and everyone that's in my party right away asked if I was okay and I told them all I was.

Caroline called the band to tell them we were ready to walk in so they can start playing the wedding march. The soft music began to play and everyone turned to the back to the garden to see the wedding party make their way into the garden.

Jenna walked down the aisle fist with Max and everyone awed and waved at the little baby. Then it was Bonnie and Rick next to walk down the aisle, Rick and Stefan were Damon's best man and Caroline and Bonnie were my maid of honors. Stefan met his wife and they went next and then Jeremy stood next to me ready to take me down the aisle.

I looked through the window to see Damon standing at the end of the aisle and he looked nervous and excited too just like me. He of course looked handsome in his black tuxedo and hair slicked back. I happily sigh as I look at him; he's going to be my husband and I felt like the luckiest girl in the whole world.

"Ready sis?" Jeremy asks.

"Yes. Jer, thanks for walking me down the aisle and giving me away." My eyes got watery again thinking about our parents and how they aren't here for my special day.

"You don't gotta thank me. You're my sister and I love you; sure it sucks that mom and dad can't be here and it can't be dad giving you away but I know they are both happy with how we turned out. Now let's give you away!" I gave him a tight hug and softly wipe my tears away.

"Okay I'm ready." We link arms and the here comes the bride began to play and everyone got up from their seats. I wasn't paying attention to my guest flashing their cameras at me or their tears flowing down as I take each step; my main focus was Damon. I couldn't contain the huge smile on my face as I saw him and he the same; I know I didn't see him for a full day but it felt like forever for me.

Jeremy kisses my cheek and hands me over to Damon, "take good care of her." He tells Damon before handing me over.

"I will little Gilbert." He says.

Damon takes my hand in his; the moment our hands touched all the nerves left my body and I felt whole again like a piece of me was missing and it was Damon. We walk the next few steps together, "Hi." I said to him. "Hi." He says back with a smirk. We now stood in front of the Priest and he began the ceremony. I didn't even hear a word he was saying all I kept thinking about was my future with Damon and my vows. I really hope I don't forget them.

"Damon and Elena made their own vows so whenever you're ready." The Priest said.

Caroline passes me my paper with my vows and Stefan does the same for Damon. "Ladies first." Damon says.

"Oh now you wanna be a gentlemen." I said as I roll my eyes at him.

"I'm always a gentlemen." He does his flirty eye thing at me and I wanted to smack him. Leave it to Damon to be his smug-self on our wedding day.

I took in a deep breath and here we go.

"Damon, where to begin? I'm happy that we are standing here today after everything we been through; that you took me back after I broke your heart. I want to say thank you for giving me, us another chance at this," Oh no here comes the water works.

"I must not cry." I said to myself and then Damon takes my hand in his again to encourage me to finish my vows.

"You can do this." He says with a sweet smile.

"Another reason why I love you, is you always believing in me and making me feel like I matter. I know I have all of them and I love each of them but all my life I felt like a piece of me was missing, like I was incomplete. Then the day we met it's like the piece was found and as we grew closer so did that piece. I'm glad you are you and didn't give up until I was yours. I never want to lose you again. I can't wait to be your wife and be with you forever, I love you Damon Salvatore."

Caroline passes me tissues and I thanked her, now it was Damon's turn.

Damon puts his vows away, "I'm going to say what I truly feel at this moment versus what I wrote, don't worry you can read it later." He tells me.

"I think I told you this but if I didn't here goes, the day we met I was out doing my usual night routine but something about the bar told me to go inside this one and the moment I walked in I saw you and it's like my heart beat for the first time. I was in the dark for a long time even with my first marriage but you brought me back into the light. After we ended things I fell in that dark hole again but you again came and pulled me out of it. I told you this many times before but you are my life, Elena. I will do anything for you and I will always protect you. You made me a better man. I love you so much Elena Gilbert. Now can we please get married so I can kiss her?!" Damon protests and everyone in the wedding laughs.

The Priest ask for the rings and he hands them to Damon and me. "Now Elena repeat after me." He tells me what to say, "I Elena give you Damon, this ring as an eternal symbol of my love and commitment to you. I give you my hand, my heart, and my love, from this day forward for as long as we both shall live." I place the ring on his finger.

"Now Damon repeat after me."

"I Damon give you Elena, this ring as an eternal symbol of my love and commitment to you. I give you my hand, my heart, and my love, from this day forward for as long as we both shall live." He puts the ring on my finger now.

"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss your bride."

"Finally!" Damon grabs me and kisses me hard on the lips.

Everyone got up from their seats and cheered us on.

"I present to you Mr. and Mrs. Salvatore!" Our Priest happily shouts and cheers for us too.

Damon hugs me tightly in his arms, "I love you, Mrs. Salvatore." He says into my hair.

"And I love you Mr. Salvatore."

DPOV

The whole day I was itching to see Elena but every time I tried Stefan stopped me. This dumb idea his wife had of us not seeing each other the day of the wedding was torture. I need to see Elena. I sat in the living room looking at the fire burning away in the fireplace. My palms were sweaty and my legs couldn't stop shaking; why was I so nervous? Elena is the one so why am I feeling like this?

"Hey." Stefan puts a drink in front of me.

"I think it's time for a toast." I look up and see Stefan, Alaric and my dad in the living room with me with a drink in their hand too.

"Now it's not every day your only brother gets married, oops." Stefan's lame attempt at a joke. "Ha-ha little brother." I sarcastically said.

"Sorry figure I start with a joke. Well I didn't really write anything down so this is coming from the heart. I love you, Damon. I know we are night and day but at the end of the day we are always there for each other. You're the best big brother a guy can have. Thanks to you and your horny ways and not stopping to make Elena yours, I met my wife Caroline. I'm happy you found love again and I know that this marriage is going to last you forever. To Damon and Elena!"

"To Damon and Elena!"

"Thanks little brother." We gave each other a hug. Alaric went ahead to greet the guest and help with any last minute duties and Stefan went to call Caroline to find out the status on Elena.

That left me alone with my dad, "so I'm getting married today." I began with. "Indeed you are, son. Nervous?" He asks.

"A little bit yeah. Its normal right? I don't remember feeling this nervous when I married Katherine." I said.

"That means Ms. Pierce was never the one for you, son. I did warn you many times but you still went ahead and married that dreadful woman. You could have saved yourself from a nasty divorce." He says with such disgust.

I was annoyed with how he responded to me because I feel like I'm getting lecture on my wedding day. "Yeah I know, dad." I got up from the sofa and walked closer to the fire place. There on the mantle was a picture of my mother and I grew sad wishing she was here.

"Son sorry if I upset you, I didn't mean too. What I wanted to say was its normal to feel nervous on your wedding day. I felt the same too when I married your mother. The moment I saw her in her beautiful dress, her dark hair and her pierce blue eyes stare at me; the nerves went away just like that. I'm sure once you see Elena it will happen to you too." His words actually touched me.

I hugged him, "Thanks dad."

"Okay its time. Elena will arrived in 10 minutes. We gotta head to the garden and wait there." Stefan instructs.

I stand in my spot waiting for Elena to arrive. Each minute I grew more and more anxious, "has it been ten minutes yet?" I asks Alaric.

"No, it's only been two minutes." He answers. Stefan informs me that the girls are running a tad bit late due to Max throwing up.

"It's time! Everyone get into position." One of the wedding planners says. The music begins to play and my nerves start going all over the place.

The wedding march began to play and I see Little Gilbert appeared at the entrance to the garden and then there she is, my soon to be wife. And like my father said all the nerves went away as I look into her brown doe eyes. I couldn't take my eyes off of her the whole time; she looked absolutely stunning.

Now I held my wife Elena in my arms as we slow dance to our song, Hunger by Ross Copperman.

"I can't still get over that we are here. Feels like a dream." She softly says.

"I know I feel the same. I know most men love to take the wedding dress off their wives but darling you look so good I want to take you wearing it."

"Damon!" She shrieks.

"What? Nobody can hear us; they probably think I'm whispering sweet words in your ears." I said.

She laughs, "You're right they can't hear us. Since they can't hear us, I can't wait for you to take me as your wife." Woah I didn't expect her to say that.

"Can we end the party now so I can have you?" I beg.

She laughs, "No, we got another three hours left." I sink my head low.

"Well might as well make the most of it." I spin her around and everyone claps as I do so. I lift her up in the air and spun us around and then our eyes lock as I lower her back to the ground.

"And there you have it ladies and gentlemen, the couples' first dance! Let's give them a round of applause." Our DJ said.

We walked back to our table and I noticed Elena looking a bit woozy. "You okay? Did I spin you too much?" I ask.

"I'm okay. I'm gonna step away to the bathroom for a moment." She walks over to Caroline and the two of them went to the bathroom together.

I didn't see Elena for almost twenty minutes after our first dance. Every time I got up to see if she was okay someone pulled me to the side for pictures, wedding advice, to dance, when we are going to have babies etc. I sat at our table alone waiting for her to return. I wanted to cancel the party and run to my wife but I know her; she would want me to stay here and keep the party going so everyone can have a good time.

I was tired of waiting for her and ready to look for her when Blondie comes to me with a certain look on her face, "Elena wants you to meet her in your old room."

"Is everything okay?" She stays quiet.

"Now it's not the time for you to be quiet. Tell me, please." I beg but she shakes her head, "go see Elena." She said with more force this time. "Keep the party going." I tell her and left.

I ran inside the house and up the stairs to find Elena. I open the door to my old room and I see Elena sitting on my old bed. I take her face in my hands and look her over, she looks exhausted but content – weird mix.

"Are you okay? Say the word and the party is over and you can sleep it off or we go see a doctor. Whatever you need Elena."

She puts her hand over mine and brings them down to her lap. "I'm fine Damon. Come sit." She pats the other side of the bed and I sit down next to her.

"Did you want to meet with me so we can start on the wedding night?"

She giggles, "No that's not why I called you here."

She puts an object in my hand, "This is why." I look at the white plastic thing and my eyes almost pop out of their sockets.

I tackle her gently onto my bed and kiss her hard.

"This is the best day ever. You are finally my wife and we're having a baby. God I love you so much."

"And I you."
