Tamsin walked into the apartment with a sigh. She had worked an extra shift to cover for Dyson who had, interestingly enough, gone to help the succubus with some kind of case. All she wanted to do was jump in the shower, maybe with the doctor's warm hands around her, and get into bed.

Her thoughts were soon dashed away nicely as she saw her wife feeding their seven month old in the kitchen. The darker blonde had looked up quickly, smiled, and went back to feeding their son a spoonful of what looked liked applesauce. Tamsin dropped her keys in the bowl by the door and walked into the kitchen, a smile playing on her lips.

"Hey doc," she said, leaving a quick kiss on Lauren's forehead. "Hey, champ." Tamsin looked down and grabbed the little guy's small hand. The boy shook his hand happily and smiled a gummy smile. His first four teeth had come in only a month ago, and the baby's side ones were growing in nicely. But Tamsin still called it gummy, as the baby's mouth wasn't filled.

"You're home so late," Lauren said, looking up at Tamsin through her lashes. She was bent a little ways over to get to Ethan, who was housed in a toddler friendly chair, and Tamsin put a hand on the small of her back; she loved the feel of the doctors spine under her hand. "Ethan needs to be put down after this or he'll be cranky tomorrow."

Tamsin nodded absently, as she watched Lauren spoon the rest of the food into the baby's mouth. She hated it when Tamsin came home late. It meant Lauren couldn't get any real work done, as she was playing with Ethan most of the time until the baby could be put down for a nap. It wasn't that Lauren disliked playing with the boy, it was her child, but she wanted- needed- to see her wife and for the past couple of weeks, she never could.

Tamsin decided she needed to talk to the wolf who had his junk hanging around as he chased Bo, and she promised herself she'd do it tomorrow.

She needed time with her wife and child too.

Lauren had just gotten done feeding the boy, wiping off the sides of his mouth with her thumb, and moved to the kitchen sink to rinse out the small cup. Tamsin watched idly before turning to her son and whipping out the biggest smile possible.

"Time to go to sleep," Tamsin sang to her son. Lifting the removable lid from the boy's chair, she hooked her hands under Ethan's arms and lifted the boy above her head. His belly was exposed and she breathed in quickly and blew across it. Ethan's smiled and his squeal filled the house with laughter. Tamsin smiled too and she whistled in a breath, then out onto Ethan's stomach again. She heard Lauren's footsteps behind her and smiled as she felt the doctor nuzzle against her neck, a smile on her lips.

After Ethan had calmed and Tamsin brought him down onto her hip, she turned with a smile still on her face, too look her beautiful wife.

Any anger or tiredness had left Lauren's face as she looked at the two she loved most in the world, and watched happily as Tamsin bounced Ethan up and down as they ascended the stairs. Lauren had an extra room to the loft, small but still big enough, for Ethan's crib and baby supplies and it made it easier to live in the apartment. Tamsin and her were already thinking of pulling their resources and moving to a more accommodating house so Ethan could have a real room to himself, but that idea had never been talked about after the first few hours.

Lauren walked to her research desk after putting Ethan's toys away and smiled as she heard Tamsin singing softly as she put Ethan to bed.

"Sofa þér nú, ó barn mitt

Sofa þig í jötu þinni

Sofa á meðan vetur vindar munu væla

Sofa þér öruggur frá hættu"

The doctor knew the lullaby by heart and mouthed the words as they were sung.

"Sofa þér þegar dimma ís groans

Frost og Funi nálgast

Sofa þig þegar þögn moans

Sofa þér ekki óttast"

Lauren's head sighed up happily, but tiredly, toward the ceiling as everything was put away, and she began to walk up the stairs after turning off the light.

"Sofa þér vel og sofa þig lengi

Fyrir líf mun yfirgefa þig þreyttur

Sofa þér enn og sofa sterk

'Til að heyra ekki lengur mér"

The dark blonde walked into her room and began to undress for the night. She sang that last bit of the lullaby as Tamsin did.

"Þú heyrir ekki lengur mér."

Lauren looked towards the opening of the small door as Tamsin came out, still looking behind her as she hummed the tune of the song, and smiled. It had been almost a year ago when she found out her hidden talent and now, after they had the baby, Tamsin didn't care one way or the other if Lauren knew about it.

Closing the door softly, Tamsin turned and walked to the bed, her body literally deflating as the day's work was finally done. Turning on the baby monitor before stripping down to her underwear and tank-top, Tamsin got into the bed with her wife. Kissing Lauren on the lips, Tamsin allowed her to snuggle in her arms as they got ready for bed.

"Tamsin?"

"Yes, doc?"

"I'm happy we had Ethan."

"I am too, Lauren."

"I love you. Goodnight."

Tamsin brushed her lips onto Lauren's head and whispered, "I love you too."
