Hi guys. I'm so sorry it's been so long since the last update. I've barely written over the last few months because of issues in my life and lack of time but it's all done now and I've got the writing bug back. I'm going to try and start regularly like I used to do but as I'm sure you're aware a promise from means very little. I do have the motivation back now though, it's just all dependant on whether I got time (I have university studies which must take precedence).
Anyway, let's not waste any more time. Let's get back to it and hopefully make the final push towards the end of this story.
Please forgive any spelling or grammar mistakes, I know I'm terrible for them but I do try to make my writing as tidy and easy to read as possible.
Chapter 36
MagnaAngemon, with TK on his back, flew up high into the sky to meet VenomMyotismon head on in battle.
"LET'S KICK HIS ASS!" TK roared.
"YES!" replied MagnaAngemon.
The angel digimon was now directly in front of his enormous foe.
"What are you puny weakling?" VenomMyotismon said, his voice so loud that anyone within 10 miles could hear him.
"We're the ones who are going to stop!" TK screamed in response for his digimon.
"You? Stop me?" asked the giant. After a moment's thought he burst out in laughter. His laugh was a truly terrifying sound and it made nearby building's shake because of the vibration.
"Laugh at this!" MagnaMyotismon shouted as he launched his first attack. "EXACALIBUR!"
The angel drew a sword from his right arm and through a wave of energy slashed at the giant. VenonMyotismon's laugh was ended instantly. Instead he let out a deafening scream. He was knocked backwards (which caused him to upend a few cars).
"YOU FOOLS!" he screamed. "HOW DARE YOU!"
"Hit him again MagnaAngemon!" ordered TK.
"SOUL VANISHER!"
That attack hit VenomMyotismon too and sent him well and truly reeling. The giant continued to stumble backwards and then….. lost his balance and went down! The seemingly invincible giant had been knocked off his feet by those two attacks. In falling backwards onto the floor the giant had taken a large inter-city bridge with him. TK prayed that no had been hurt.
"Whoa, they just took him out!" exclaimed Tai from the ground now where everyone stood watching.
"I think they just won it all," said Joe in awe.
"Not yet," said Hiroaki with his eyes fixed on the monster. He was right, VenomMyotismon was already starting to move.
"ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" he roared as he sat his giant body back up.
"Looks like he's not done yet MagnaAngemon," said TK.
"I would have been surprised had he been beaten by only two attacks," the angel digimon replied.
"Well quick, hit him again!" TK ordered. "Keep him down!"
But MagnaAngemon couldn't react quick enough. From the ground VenomMyotismon unleashed his own attack.
"CHAOS FLAME!" he bellowed and before anyone could react the attack hit MagnaAngemon and set him spiralling, TK holding on for dear life.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" he screamed as he tried desperately to hang on to his digimon's shoulders. They were going to crash into something and it would not feel pretty. They eventually crashed through a window of a building and TK finally lost his grip. He flung to edge of the room and he smacked the floor very hard (and he now covered in cut after crashing through the glass).
He was barely conscious. He managed to look up with what little strength he had left to see MagnaAngemon lying not far from him. They looked to have crashed the window of some office building.
"MagnaAng….mon," he managed to utter before his strength gave out on him and he fainted.
….
A little while later…
TK woke up what must have been only a short while later. He began to stare and it took him a minute to fully remember where he was and what had just happened. He looked around and saw MagnaAngemon nowhere, where could he have gone? Managing to pull himself to his feet (though it was a Herculean task, he was sore all over and felt very weak) he started trying to gather himself. His vision was slightly blurry, it must have been an effect of the crash. His clothes were torn, his body was now covered in cuts and bruises and he had a bump the size of a melon on the back of his head.
"Man, that hurt," he whispered to himself now. He stumbled forwards and his legs nearly gave way. It took him another moment to steady himself before he limped towards the window where they'd crashed through. He looked out and had a wonderful view of the city, and the scene.
In the distance he could see VenomMyotismon (who was back standing up). He moving his arms frantically, as if he was trying to grab something. TK focused his eyes and in the distance he make out a tiny dot in the sky. It had to be MagnaAngemon. He must have gotten back up and went off to fight MagnaAngemon, leaving an unconscious him behind.
"Dammit!" he shouted in frustration. "Now I'm stuck over here, I can't go and help MagnaAngemon."
"Your help won't help him at all," said a voice now.
TK began looking around frequently to find the source. Who else was here with him?
"Up here pea brain," it said now.
TK looked upwards and saw a digimon hovering above his head. This digimon was a familiar one, though they hadn't met in years.
"Demi-Devimon," he said darkly.
"You remember me TK!" the bat replied with a horrible grin. "Or is it Trowa now? I heard you go by different names."
"Call me whatever you want, I don't care," the boy replied. He couldn't be bothered with this now, he had to figure out a way to get back onto the battlefield.
"You might as well get comfy junior, you're stuck here for the time being," Demi-Devimon mocked now.
"Shut up, I don't have time for this," TK snapped.
"Ahhh come on, don't be like that. Anyway, you had no trouble doing what I told you in the past."
"What… what you mean?"
"Don't you remember TK? Don't you remember, 7 years ago when we met?"
"Yeah,…." said TK now thinking back. "I remember, I remember well."
"That's good, you'll remember that we were buddies, you and me" said Demi-Devimon mischievously now.
"No we weren't," TK said sternly. "We were never friends Demi-Devimon."
"Of course we were, you chased that little puff ball off and decided to stick with me, right?"
"You bailed on me!" TK snapped now. "As soon as I got in some trouble you just high-tailed it and left, leaving me all alone."
"Yeah, well you can't blame me for watching out for no.1," he grinned. "Besides, you were used to people leavin' ya by then anyway. Am I right?"
Demi-Devimon was deliberately trying to hit nerves here and he was succeeding.
"Shut up," was TK responded with, not wanting to be reminded.
"Yeah, your brother left ya and you were crying bad. So upset that your precious, big bro had just got sick of your whining and decided to leave ya behind. At the time I felt sorry for you but now when I look back I can see why he did it."
TK just stayed silent. Demi-Devimon continued.
"And he's not the only one is he TK?" he prodded. "I mean, other people have left you as well. All the other digi-destined kids, that digimon of yours who's out there fighting now, heck even your own parents."
TK didn't reply.
"Your mom and dad split up when you were young didn't they? Your dad just took Matt and didn't bother ever staying in touch did he? Never invited you over to see them or came to see you. Maybe the reason your parents divorced cause he just wanted to be away from you and your mom drew the short straw? And even then, she sent you away to a summer camp with a lot of other kids who weren't even your age, she probably wanted rid of you for a few weeks too."
TK still didn't speak. His emotions were bubbling.
"So you see TK, you should be used to people leaving and not wanting to be around you anymore, I mean it's happened so many times with so many people. Your family, your friends, even your digimon. They all get sick of you and leave in the end, don't they?"
"Go away," TK muttered now quietly, tears starting to fall down his cheeks for the first time in years.
"Ah what? You ain't crying again are ya? Come on now, that's the reason people leave you in the first place. Cause you're a crybaby."
"Go away," he repeated, his beginning to break now.
"Look at you, you really are pathetic," Demi-Devimon continued. "I heard that all those years living in the digital world with those two traitorous wrenches had toughened you up. Obviously not, you're still a crybaby, just like Matt said."
"SHUT UP!" TK screamed now. He dropped to his knees with his hands covering his face and in a flood of tears. Demi-Devimon just smiled to himself.
"Looks like I broke you," he said quietly now, dropping to hovering right next to TK's shoulder so he could speak directly into the boy's ear.
"I broke you back then and I've broke you now, you haven't changed at all."
TK continued to sob.
"Okay, I'll go and leave you to bawl your little heart out but before I go I'll leave you with a little secret. Do you like learning secrets TK?"
TK didn't respond (but he was listening).
"Here it is, pay attention," Demi-Devimon smiled. "Remember all that stuff I told you back when we first met. About your bro, about the other kids. All that stuff I just said now about your family. Well guess what….. I just made it all up to mess with ya head! HAHAHAHA!"
TK stopped bawling as Demi-Devimon laughed hysterically.
"MAN, YOU'RE EASY TO FOOL YOU LITTLE RUNT! HAHAHAHA!" he cackled.
TK brought his hands away from his face. He'd stopped crying, he'd stopped making noise at all in fact. Demi-Devimon continued to laugh.
"I got you to turn you to hate on your friends and family and it was too easy," he continued to mock. "Man you should have seen your face then and now, it's a riot watching you blubber like a little girl."
TK turned to look at Demi-Devimon who was still hovering right next to him at shoulder level. TK's blue eyes were still wet with tears but now they had a new look in them. A look of pure rage. The type of rage he was prone too. TK had always had a fearsome temper but he had really let it reach the surface. Now though was definitely one of those rare moments.
"YOU BASTARD!" he screamed. Before Demi-Devimon could react and get out of the way TK had lunged on him, grabbing by the wings and pinning him to the floor."
"GET THE HELL OFF ME YOU LITTLE RUNT!" he shouted.
"YOU LYING, EVIL, PATHETIC, SACK OF CRAP" TK screamed as he began to rain down his fist on to the digimon's face.
"ARRGGHH, STOP IT! HELP!" Demi-Devimon roared. But there was no one else around.
"I'LL KILL YOU!" TK screamed now, he had completely snapped. He had never been this infuriated before in his life. All that hatred, all that anger, all that hurt, it had all been built up on a lie. Nothing he'd believed for the past 7 years, all of the things he'd been telling himself, none of it had been true. Demi-Devimon's lie and his own naivety/insecurity had led him to throw away all those years on hating people he shouldn't have hated, to ruin his relationships with those closest to him.
"I'LL KILL YOU!" he screamed over and over. "I'LL KILL FOR WHAT YOU'VE DONE TO ME!"
We'll leave it there for now eh? Did you like this chapter? Was it worth the wait? It's all come to a head now, TK finally knows the truth.
The next chapter will hopefully be by the end of the week if I get time to write but as usual don't bet on money on a promise of mine. I will try though, I really want to get this story done now that we're in the most exciting part.
Please review, favourite and follow. I cannot stress how appreciated it is and how important it can when it comes to motivation. Until the next chapter then.
