Mallet Island Collapse!
Mundus' red glowing eyes proceed to go out, and the three Dex Holders are seen standing in complete and total darkness.
"Face my wrath, humans!" Yelled out Mundus' voice. Two orbs of purple energy are seen forming in mid air, and are then thrown towards the three Dex Holders.
"Move!" Yelled Green.
At that moment, the Dex Holders move out of the way of the orbs, which zoom right past them.
"Where did those come from?" Asked Blue.
"Hm hm hm. Pitiful humans always having to rely on their sight. I can see you just fine from where I am." Said Mundus' voice.
"That coward! He's using this darkness as a cover!" Yelled Red.
Three red energy spears are then launched towards Red. Red see's it coming and dodges. He then jumps towards where the attack came from and slashes the Keyblade.
"HYAH!" Yelled Red.
"Sorry, it seems that the only thing you've managed to hit so far is thin air." Said Mundus' voice.
"This is ridiculous. We can't fight like this." Said Blue.
"Agreed. Let's light this place up. Charizard, come out!" Yelled Green. He takes out a pokeball and throws Charizard out, who then proceeds to roar.
"Charizard, use Fire Spin to shed light in this darkness!" Yelled Green.
Charizard proceeds to fly up into the air and begins to breath fire from his mouth. Fire then proceeds to descend downwards towards the ground in a cyclone like fashion, and begins to illuminate the immediate area.
"Yeah, that did it!" Said Green.
"So you think." Said Mundus in the shadows. Suddenly a large gust of wind begins to blow in the immediate area. The wind in turn then proceeds to snuff out the Fire Spin, once again encompassing everything in darkness.
"What?" Asked Green.
"You're merely delaying the inevitable, warriors of Light. Compared to me you are but mere insects, which I shall crush beneath my heel!" Said Mundus' voice.
"Light, that's it!" Thought Red to himself. He takes out his own Pokeball. "Saur, come on out!"
He throws the pokeball, and from it's shell comes forth a squat, quadruped Pokémon with bumpy, bluish green skin. It has small, circular red eyes, two pointed teeth on its upper jaw, and four pointed teeth on its lower jaw. It has three clawed toes on each foot. The bud on its back has bloomed in a large pink, white-spotted flower. The flower is supported by a thick, brown trunk surrounded by green fronds. This new pokemon let's out a loud growl and roar upon being released.
"Another one of those useless creatures?" Asked Mundus. "What do you hope for those worthless pets of yours to accomplish?"
"Saur, use Sunny Day!" Yelled Red.
The pokemon called Saur proceeds to roar as it's bud begins to glow white with light. The bud releases a small white ball of energy into the air, once the ball reaches a high enough height, the ball expands, and brings light to everything within the darkness. Mundus is seen flying in the air, his cover now blown.
"What!?" Yelled Mundus.
"Cunning strategy Red, using Sunny Day to give off Mundus' location, now he has nowhere left to hide!" Said Blue.
"Damn you!" Yelled Mundus, his eyes glowing red with rage. They however stop glowing, and he begins to laugh. "No matter, you may think you have an advantage now, but don't forget this is my mind we're fighting in. Your little advantage is about to come to an end!"
"That's what you think." Said Green. "Charizard, use Blast Burn, quick!"
Charizard opens his mouth again, and spews out a large stream of flames towards Mundus.
"Haven't you learned that your pathetic fire lizard has no advantage over me!" Yelled Mundus. He flaps his wings, creating another large gust of wind. The wind however does not make the flames weaker, but they instead make the flames more intense.
"What!?" Yelled Mundus in surprise.
"Fun fact about Sunny Day, it increases the strength of all Fire type moves. Hope for your sake you have a Burn Heal, demon!" Yelled Green.
The flames engulf Mundus, causing fire to shroud his entire body.
"GWAAAAAH!" Yelled Mundus in immense pain. "Cursed Light warriors...this is not the end!"
At that moment, Mundus is reduced to nothing more but mere ashes, and Mundus' bellowing scream is heard coming from all directions.
"What's happening?" Yelled Blue.
Green and Red call back their own consecutive Pokemon as pillars of light begin to erupt from the ground. Soon light spreads out all across the arena, it becomes so intense the Dex Holders have no choice but to cover their eyes.
Soon, the light dies down, and the Dex Holders begin to slowly open them, they now see that they are back in Mundus' throne room. Dante is looming over Trish, a look of sadness encompassing his face. He looks up and sees that the Dex Holders are now standing beside him, looking down upon Trish too with pity.
"So, you survived...good to know." Said Dante.
"Same to you." Said Red.
Dante then proceeds to look down towards Trish again, her body not moving. Dante kneels down, and places his hands around his neck. He lifts his hands off his neck, and then places a small red pendant in one of Trish's hands. "Rest in peace."
"Hm hm ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha." Laughed out Mundus' voice once more.
"Mundus!?" Yelled Red.
"I told you this wasn't over, if you think you're going to escape this place alive, you have another thing coming! Join me in the endless abyss! Die!" Yelled Mundus' voice.
At that moment, the entire temple begins to shake, dust begins to fall from the cieling as well as some small debris.
"What? The temple..." Began Blue.
"We need to leave, now!" Yelled Green.
"Your right, come on, this way!" Yelled Dante, now heading towards the exit.
The Dex Holders along with Dante are now seen running towards the exit. Dante proceeds to slam his fist on the large doorway, leading to a large portal back to the Underworld halls. The four waste no time in jumping into the portal, which instantly transports them back into said hallways.
"Come on, move it!" Yelled Dante.
The 4 proceed to run through the long hallways of the Underworld. Heartless begin to spawn in front of them as they're running.
"MOVE!" Yelled Dante. Dante takes out his sword, and slashes the Heartless out of their way. Dante then proceeds to slash his sword against another door, opening it. The 4 keep running, not looking back whatsoever. At the end of this hallway, they see another portal, constantly shrinking as they run towards it.
Red draws his Keyblade and once again fires another beam of light. The light once again causes the portal to grow in size. The 4 reach the portal and jump through it. They make it through, and the portal closes behind them as the hallway collapses in on itself.
On the other side of the portal, the 4 manage to exit it, which results in the mirror shattering into several pieces.
"That was too close." Said Red.
"Yeah, well come on, we're not out of the woods yet." Said Dante. "In case you haven't noticed, this whole castle is crumbling down on us!"
Indeed, the castle itself also seems to be shaking, small items on the shelfs are falling to the ground and shattering, and dust is constantly leaking downwards from the roof.
"Sheesh, this Mundus guy must be really desperate if he's bringing the whole castle down on us." Said Red.
"Gives all the more reason to get the Hell out of here. The main hall isn't to far from here, let's move." Said Dante.
"Right, come on." Said Red.
The 4 proceed to leave the room in question, and end up back in the stairway again. Dante proceeds to jump off the side of the stairway, landing on the bottom floor. Not wanting to waste much time, the three Dex Holders jump off the side of the stairway as well. They land on the ground with some force, but they didn't seem to hurt themselves while doing it. They proceed to head to the doorway, and end up in another hallway. More Heartless proceed to spawn and try to slow them down.
"We have no time for this!" Yelled Dante. He raises his sword, which get's covered in a red and black aura. He slams the sword to the ground, causing the after image of the slash to slice the Heartless in front of them into ribbons. The 4 proceed to run through the hallway and reach the exit. They end up in the same balcony where they encountered all the puppet Heartless and proceed to run towards that doorway. They open it, and enter the last hallway before the main hall.
"Move, move, move!" Yelled Dante.
They run towards the door, open it and end up back in the main hall. The hole left by Blue and Green earlier is at the other end.
"There's the exit! Home stretch baby!" Said Dante.
The shaking on the ground begins to become way more intense, and the 4 of them have trouble keeping their balance. Suddenly, the ground beneath them falls apart, leading them to fall down in a dark hole.
"AH!" Screamed both the Dex Holders and Dante.
CRASH!
The 4 of them are now on the ground, which is wet, and covered in with what seems to be an inch of water.
"No! We were so close!" Yelled Red.
"Guys, what's that!?" Yelled Blue.
White flashes depicting what looks to be some mysterious letters begin to pulsate rapidly at the other end of the room. A large piece of debris falls from above, and blocks the only exit. Suddenly, a pair of hands comes from the white letters, and Mundus proceeds to jump through, his eyes flashing red with inhuman fury.
Mundus has now been completely twisted from his original form, Mundus has kept certain parts of his original body, and the pieces missing are now replaced with orange slime like material, pulsating and hosting a series of human like arms and hands, along with several faces popping in and out as well.
"This guy just doesn't give up!" Yelled Red.
"The gate has been opened. Dante, Keyblade Master and the rest of you, you are not getting away!" Yelled Mundus. "This is where you will die."
"I'm not going anywhere. Besides, look around here, there's no place to go." Said Dante. He then proceeds to point towards Mundus. "This will be your burial ground as well!"
Red draws his Keyblade, the other Dex Holders drawing their weapons as well.
"If you think we're just going to give up here and now, you have another thing coming!" Yelled Red.
"RAAAAAAAH!" Yelled Mundus. He reaches out one of his hands, and attempts to crush Red and the other Dex Holders beneath it. They jump back, dodging the attack.
Dante once again draws his two pistols and begins to fire away, the bullets however only do minor damage. Mundus once again tries to slam one of his hands on top of Dante, Dante however dodges the attack and draws his sword. He begins to slash away at the slime like parts of Mundus' body.
"Meaningless effort!" Yelled Mundus. The third eye then proceeds to glow a green color, and proceeds to fire a laser towards Dante.
Dante jumps back, only for Mundus to slam Dante to the back wall with his fist. Mundus then proceeds to take a Fira spell to the face. His face is then engulfed in an explosion.
BOOM!
"Got him!" Yelled Blue.
"So you think!" Yelled Mundus. Another green laser is fired toward Blue. Blue takes the initiative to dodge, only for the laser to brace her right shoulder.
"AH!" Yelled Blue in pain.
"You bastard!" Yelled Green. He runs towards Mundus, only to be blown back by a large gust of wind. The gust proceeds to blow the Dex Holders back, and slams them into the wall.
"AH!" Yelled Red, Blue and Green in unison.
The smoke clears on Mundus' face, now revealing itself to be composed of the same orange slime like substance. Within the slime substance, is the same pair of three eyes, with hundreds of hands popping out.
"Ho ha ha ha! What is the matter? Here your powers are weak HUMANS!" Yelled Mundus.
Dante is seen regaining his composure, and panting like crazy. "No." Said Dante weakly.
At that moment, Dante hears a small, sweet whisper. He lifts his head up.
"What?" Asked Dante. "Mother?"
Suddenly, a red portal opens behind them, and jumping through is none other than Trish, her hands brimming with electricity.
"Dante, use my power!" Yelled Trish, she then proceeds to strike Dante with the electricity.
"Trish!" Yelled Dante. He stumbles back from being hit with electricity. The electricity however doesn't harm him, and instead manifests with Dante's red and black aura.
Trish then turns to the Dex Holders, and proceeds to zap them with electricity as well, apparently giving them the exact same boost.
Dante looks back at Trish, at first with a look of disbelief, and then with a look of assurance. "OK!"
The Dex Holders get up and draw their weapons as well.
"You fools! Do you really think you still have what it takes to face me!? I am ruler of the Underworld, the king of demons! I will crush you all like the insects you are!" Yelled Mundus.
At that moment, hundreds of arms with hands proceed to reach out towards both Dante and the Dex Holders, all composed of the orange slime substance.
Dante begins to slash away, slicing the arms as they approach him. Red, Blue and Green are also seen slicing and blowing away several series of hands as they approach them. Red's Keyblade begins to brim with blue energy as he slices away at the incoming hands.
"Pathetic humans, quit resisting!" Yelled Mundus.
"BLAST CHARGE!" Yelled Red. He then proceeds to throw the Keyblade towards Mundus' face. The Keyblade slices Mundus' face, and it is encompassed in a large explosion of blue energy spheres.
"GRAAAAH!" Yelled Mundus in pain. "You will pay for that Keyblade Master!"
"That's what you think." Said Dante, aiming his two pistols towards Mundus' third eye. One pistol is charge with electricity and the other is shrouded in the red and black aura.
"Looks like we have a winner." Said Trish.
"Jackpot." Said Dante. He then proceeds to shoot the two pistols, firing both a yellow beam and a red beam towards Mundus. The two beams merge and form into a white beam, which then proceeds to nail Mundus right in the third eye. Mundus' entire body is then engulfed in light, and is seen being sucked back into the same white energy gate he broke through.
"WAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" Yelled Mundus in immense pain. "NO!"
Mundus' body is seen being pulled apart, and a small bit of dark purple energy with two white eyes forms itself.
"Dante, I will return. And I will rule this world!" Yelled Mundus.
Dante just proceeds to wave. "Goodbye, and when you do come back, give my regards to my son, will ya?"
The rest of Mundus' body, including the purple face is then pulled into the white portal. The white portal then proceeds to shatter like glass.
"Is it over?" Asked Blue, now casting Cura on herself, panting.
"Yeah. That seemed to have done it." Said Red. "Looks like we won't be seeing Mundus for a while."
"If at all." Said Green, giving a small smirk whilst panting.
Trish then proceeds to run towards Dante, Dante vice versa, and the two proceed to embrace.
"Trish, thank God your OK." Said Dante.
"Dante." Said Trish. Trish then proceeds to look at Dante, tears forming in her eyes.
"Trish...Devils never cry." Said Dante. "These tears. These tears are a gift that only humans have."
The ground begins to shake once more, everyone in the room begins to look around.
"Great, even with Mundus gone, the castle is still coming down on us." Said Green.
"We're too late." Said Trish.
"No Trish, it's never too late." Said Dante.
Suddenly, loads of debris begin to fall from above, following the debris is a large biplane.
"For we humans never give up." Said Dante. "Are you ready?"
"Yes." Said Trish.
The two begin to run towards the biplane, Dante stops midrun, and turns towards the Dex Holders.
"Shit, this plane can only carry two passengers." Said Dante.
"Oh, don't worry, we have our own way out near the main hall, the two of you go, we'll catch up." Said Red, summoning Aero from his Pokeball. Green then proceeds to summon Charizard again.
"Be sure to keep that promise, will ya?" Asked Dante.
Red climbs on Aero and nods. "Fly!"
"Fly!" Yelled Green. Aero and Charizard then proceed to fly upwards, and Dante makes his way to the plane.
The Dex Holders proceed to make it to the spot where the floor fell below them.
"Aero, use Hyper Beam, quick!" Yelled Red.
Aero opens it's mouth and fires a yellow beam of energy, making a large hole in the main hall. The Dex Holders proceed to fly out of the castle and back towards the entering pathway. The Pokemon land and are called back in their pokeballs. The Dex Holders then proceed to run down the path, and see that the Metal Bird is still there. They climb on, and open the glass dome to the cockpit. Red closes the glass dome, and starts the ship. Slowly but surely the Metal Bird rises and turns around.
"PUNCH IT!" Yelled Blue.
Red then proceeds to put the ship full throttle, the exhaust ports blowout a ton of fuel from it's engines, making it's way away from the collapsing island.
"Phew, that was way too close of a call." Said Red.
"Wait a minute, did Dante and Trish make it out?" Asked Blue.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
The island and castle behind them then proceeds to go up in a large explosion, purple in color strangely enough. The shockwave shakes the Metal Bird a little, but it soon regains it's compusure.
"Did...Did they make it?" Asked Blue, with concern in her voice.
Red then proceeds to look, as does Green. Green eventually does spot the biplane to their left side.
"There they are!" Said Green.
Red and Blue look to their left, and see that Dante and Trish are indeed flying beside them. Dante looks towards them, and gives them a nod and wave.
Red and company proceed to do the same, Blue and Red sighing in relief.
"Thank goodness." The two said in unison.
We then cut to a small neighborhood, with a tall building sporting a red neon sign spelling out Devil May Cry in cursive writing. Above the 5 shines a red moon.
"So, this is where we truly part ways?" Asked Dante.
"Seems like it." Said Red.
"Well, when it came to friends, I was never really good with goodbyes, but then again, what else can I say then...thank you." Said Dante.
"No need to thank us, the way Mundus was, he deserved what was coming to him." Said Green.
"We never did learn the whole story. He kept mentioning a guy named Sparda. Who is he?" Asked Blue.
"Well, I suppose I can tell you. Sparda...was a demon. However, unlike all the other demons, he awoke to justice. At the time, there was a huge war between the human realm, and the demon realm. Sparda fought for the humans, and sealed the gates to the Underworld. Many a person who know of him, refer to him as the legendary dark knight." Said Dante.
"Wow, someone like him is your father?" Asked Red.
"Was. He's been dead for a while now." Said Dante.
"So, what happens next, where will you three go?" Asked Trish.
"Who knows. Once we get back in the ship, we just seem to go where the cosmos take us." Said Red.
"Well, wherever it is you guys go next, I hope that you find your friend there." Said Dante. "Also, be sure to visit sometime, who knows, maybe you can try your hand at demon hunting like the two of us are."
"Thanks but no thanks, you and Mundus were enough demons to last us a lifetime." Said Blue.
All 5 of them proceed to laugh at that statement. Suddenly, Red's Keyblade then proceeds to appear.
"What's wrong?" Asked Dante. "More Heartless?"
"No, look, up there!" Said Trish, pointing towards the sky.
The other 4 look up, and in the sky in front of the moon, is a Keyhole. Red wastes no time, he takes aim and the Keyblade fires a white beam of light into the Keyhole. The Keyhole then shines brightly before disappearing, the sound of something being locked is heard. The moon turns from red to white the moment the Keyhole disappears.
"What was that?" Asked Dante.
"That was our cue to leave." Said Red.
"Heh, very well then. Good luck again in finding your friend." Said Dante.
"Thank you, take care now!" Yelled Red.
The Dex Holders turn around, and wave while walking away from the two demons in question.
"So, what happens now?" Asked Trish.
"With those three? I have no idea." Said Dante.
Comments: And thus the Devil May Cry saga has come to a close. You know, maybe it's just me, but I don't think Ganondorf would be too happy with Mundus for ratting out his plans. Speaking of which, only three members of the Dark Circle remain, will the Dex Holders be able to stop them before their plans to harness the Dark Gate's power comes to fruition? Hopefully so, because we really don't want the bad guys winning in this situation. I apologize in advance if this chapter seems a little rushed or anticlimatic, it's just I kinda wanted to get this part of the story done.
