Chapter 36
The next day Angel left camp for a bit, Brick and Trisha agreeing to watch the kits for a bit so she could get some fresh air and alone time to think. Her father had just informed her that he had taken over the ShadowClan camp and he was gonna be moving cats into it, one of the cats being her and her kits. She wasn't too sure about having her kits so close to where a possible battle could be.
She sighed and continued to padded through the town coming up to the forest again. Her ears laid flat against her head as a familiar orange tom with black stripes and golden eyes. She followed him quietly as he padded through the woods and turned around a tree. Angel followed quickly but when she turned no one was there besides the three shrews he had been carrying, she looked around trying to figure out where the tom went.
Then suddenly she heard a voice from above. "You know you BloodClan cats are getting really annoying…"
She looked up to see him lying on a branch, one of his front paws hanging loosely in the air while the other had his head laying on it, his tail swished below him. His golden eyes held an annoyed and aggregated look in them.
Angel sat down and snorted. "Well sorry but a cat sneaking around is pretty suspicious if you ask me."
The tom smirked. "Feisty, I like it."
One of her ears twitched in annoyance. "Whatever, what are you doing here, this is BloodClan territory now."
He snorted. "What I can't be here but Firebreath could? How is that fair?"
"Firebreath is a part of the clan…"
"He wasn't before that stupid battle of yours with that rogue group…"
"This wasn't our territory then…"
"You let him in Twolegplace though."
"At the edge of Twolegplace, as long as he wasn't near the camp or any main part of BloodClan territory he was fine."
"Sure, that's what you say…"
He then stood and leaped down before her and before picking up his shews and sneered. "Bye Little Fluff." Then he walked away.
Angel's pelt bristled and she stormed after him. "How dare you insult me! I am the daughter of Scourge, proud leader of BloodClan!-"
"Your point?" He mumbled around the feathers.
Angel glared at him and stomped beside him, snapping every cat know insult she could think of. Then he stopped in front of a burrow, dropping the shrews. Angel looked at him confused and sniffed the air, her pelt bristling as she picked up the scent of badger, though it was stale it still unsettle her. The tom called into the burrow.
"Come out!"
It was quiet for a bit then four pairs of paws could be heard pounding from inside and soon three kits came from the den. They looked to be around three to four moons old and were bursting with energy, but once they saw Angel they froze and scurried back into the den.
The tom rolled his eyes and meowed. "Don't worry, she's no threat…" Angel bristled at his words and glared at him, debating on showing him how much she wasn't a threat. "Come on, you guys need to eat." He said soothingly to them.
The first one to come out was a young she-cat, she was brown and had black spots, her eyes green. Angel blinked at her, the kit reminded her of another cat she hasn't seen in a while. Then a small black tom emerged, his bright blue eyes glimmering with fright as he stared at her. Then after him was a flame colored she-cat. The last was another black cat, but this one was female and had emerald eyes and dark brown paws. They scurried to the orange tabby and quickly grabbed one shrew each and began crowing down, their eyes never leaving her.
She sat down and watched them, then she felt another pair of eyes watching her and turned to see the tom looking at her through narrowed eyes. She tilted her head at him and meowed. "What?"
"Nothing." He meowed, turning his head from her and watching the kits. Angel rolled her eyes.
"Where's their mother?"
"Dead."
"Are you their father?"
"No."
"Then where's he?"
"Dead."
"Are you their sibling?"
"No."
"Are you one of their parents' sibling?"
"No."
"A friend of their parents?"
"No."
"Then why do you have them?"
"Because I found them and no one else was willing to care for them…"
Angel frowned, watching the kits. "Who's their parents, maybe I know them and could find someone…"
"I don't know about that. You might want to kill them when you find out who their parents are." He smirked at her, his eyes gleaming.
Angel snorted. "Never, I would not harm a kit simply because of whoever their parent is."
The tom shrugged. "Alright if you say so. Their parents are Night and Death."
Angel froze as he said the two names he never wanted to hear again, her gaze locking on the three kits.
